Met a date for drinks and couldn't be happier. You could converse without straining to hear the other person. Very friendly staff and no pressure to order or move on. Definitely better for mature crowd and not the loud, younger segment. Don't know what it's like on a weekend night, but definitely recommend for a weekday evening for food and drink.

Pros: Courteous staff, relaxed atmosphere, no pretense

Cons: none

This is the place to go when you want a nice relaxing meal without all the pretense of many NYC restaurants.
I love the trout which I order without almonds and it is always delicious. Service can be a bit spotty depending on who is your waitress, but the staff is always pleasant.
A classic restaurant with no hidden surprises...what a relief.

Pros: Good dependable food, decent prices, great Irish Soda bread

Cons: Occasional spotty service

I live right by Parnell's so I may be a bit biased. While it may not be gourmet, the food is always delicious traditional fare (such as chicken potpie, shephard's pie) is always delicious, seasonal specials are great as well (a meat penne ala vodka was amazing) and the hamburgers are truly sensational (I'm not a burger eater, but have sampled some of the best in NYC, popburger, brgr, goodburger, burger heaven). The burgers are juicy, flavorful and bountiful.

That said, the service can be lacking (it's a strange crew of cold/aloof middle eastern females that are all waitresses) but the bartenders are always pretty friendly.

I would absolutely recommend, but know that you are going for a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere (however some game nights or late night weekends can get crowded).

We sometimes wonder whether the good, fairly imaginative pub food at Parnell's is a fluke and whether the next time we go the imaginative chef will have left and it will be back to burgers and shepherd's pie. But it hasn't happened yet. A reliable neighborhood standby for us with decent wines by the glass.

Pros: A reliable neighborhood place with a mature crowd and minimal 20 somethings and tourists

Cons: Sometimes pokey service

This is -by far- my favorite pub in the city. Martin, the bartender, makes it feel like a second home. And, due to the amount of time i spend there, it truly is a second home!

Cons: Nothing

good burger, feels like ur in a local pub, great bartenders, very friendly, doesnt have a nyc feel to it which is nice. lot of locals here, definitely an older crowd as well. not much of a bar scene, people just go to eat, not a place to go for an exciting night out with friends, more of a place if u want to relax.

You really cannot miss here............the food is really good and the staff is very friendly..... especially the bartenders.....and one of the unusual things is you can get a very nice white burgundy by the glass, which is most unusual in NYC.

Stumbeld onto Parnell's a couple of weeks ago and had a great time there during the evening. Didn't have dinner, but had a good time at the bar. Fair prices and good crowd. I have a new go-to spot.

Pros: good vibe

Cons: a few avenues from metro

I really liked this place, but sad to say, I'll never return. The food was good, great atmosphere and good crowd. It's a very relaxing place to go after a hard week at the office.

Unfortunately some of the wait staff are highly unprofessional, and that's is just unacceptable. There's plently of great Irish pub restaurants in the city with friendly, professional staff, so I recommend avoiding this place.

Parnell's was a favorite for a while despite some ongoing service issues. Much better than normal pub food and good atmoshere. Not noisy and overrun by twentysomethings. Service however reached new lows on our last visit when we were essentially ignored. For over an hour after dinner was served, we didn't see our waitress. Well, we did see her, just not at our table. At the end of the evening, we asked why. She didn't deny ignoring us, but instead offered an excuse that she didn't like the way she was treated earlier in the evening (we had waved her down when she was again slow with service). Completely unacceptable behavior from waitstaff. Cross this pub off your list. There are too many good ones to choose from in the city to be treated this way.

Food is decent. Atmosphere sterile. Avoid sitting in the front section of the restaurant - with the rudest waitress you will ever see. Appalling customer service attitudes with both waitress and manager. It is obvious that they have never heard of, or not believe that "customers are always right". Overall, it's not worth the price for what you will get.

Authentic Irish pub and restaurant features an exposed brick and dark wood interior, patio seating, brunch and more.
