Therapeia Massage

Had a great massage here, but since then have been to two other spas in the city and I have to question the rating of best in city. Makes me wonder if something sneaky did not go on with the voting process. However, I love the comfy seating and spacious feeling. I loved the sweet girl, just wish she did not talk so much and could get some of this dang knots out, but she just did not have the touch.
Would love to come here and hang out after a massage with my honey though, very inviting.

I received a massage from Stephanie and she was absolutely amazing! Very understanding of my needs and really focused on my problem area. I felt extremely relaxed, comfortable, and confident that I was in good hands. I am definitely going back to her. I feel 10 times better! What a massage!

We had Stephanie come into our office for three hours and she was the bomb! I wish she could come every week. She gives an excellent chair massage and I am looking forward to going into the studio for my Hot Stone massage. She listens to your needs and goes deep in the areas that really need it. I would definitely go back to her.

I have had some good, bad and ugly massages in my time and would have to give Therapeia a thumbs up. It was a totally relaxing experience and I felt like a new woman when I left. I had lots of muscle aches prior to my appointment but felt SO much better after an hour of deep tissue massage..blissful. I have not given the full five stars because I felt that the reception area was a bit chaotic and the receptionist rushed me through.

If your looking for serious deep tissue Stephanie is your girl. I have been to many therapist over the years and have lived with painful neck and shoulder issues. I was needing someone with a more clinical approach and I finally found her. Stephanie is not your standard relaxation therapist. She will get you out of pain. All you need to do is tell her whats bothering you and she gets right to the problem. I have been so happy since I started seeing her. I make my appointments ahead of time so I always know I will get in on her schedule. Give her a try you wont be disappointed.

After moving across the country and my husband going out of the country right away, I was in charge of unpacking... but I found just the help that I needed at Therapeia. The receptionist listened to my concerns about my back and neck and scheduled me appropriately - I was set for a massage the same day with Colin. He is a great therapist and I'm very grateful for the relief that I got out of one hour massage! Thank you! I hope to return soon!

I have found THE place for massage!! From the cute, friendly staff (they answer the phone 'how can we help you enjoy life more?' ) to the newly re-modeled lounge in the back, this place is the best! My massage was AMAZING! My therapist checked in with me about pressure, and you could tell he really knew what he was doing. It was the perfect blend of 'working out the kinks' and divine relaxation. After 90 minutes, I felt light and free, without a care in the world. Reception was sweet and efficient. I think it's safe to say I'll be back again and again. They definitley helped me 'enjoy life more' :)

I have been getting massage from Kate for years and can tell you she is among the best of the best - strong and thoughtful while working with a deep understanding of what a pained body needs. When she joined Therapeia last year I knew it must be a quality healing facility. Her practice has only gotten better and I have been very impressed with the other therapists I've encountered when visiting Therapeia. Now pregnant and past my due date, I have begun acupunture treatments with Craig to avoid medical inducement. He and his treatment have been wonderful. He listens to my needs (both physical and emotional) and has helped me tremendously in my efforts to focus on what I can do to help my body along while providing gentle and effective treatment. Yes it is true, the do only have room tempature water in their waiting room. but who need cold cucumber water and a fancy spa lounge (which is not advertised and only drives up costs in my opinion) when you get individualized holistic healing and great service?

I recently went back to Therapea with a guest and was sadly disappointed. It's a hard place to find if you're not familiar with S.F. It would have been helpful if the receptionist had informed me of such and perhaps mailed me a map or given me the heads up. The bathroom did not have any soap, the receptionist seemed very busy taking calls, answering questions, and taking care of payments. It didn't seem real organized. There were no hangers available in the massage room. There was a water dispenser which contained ordinary water which was luke warm...with only one glass available on the plastic tray. Didn't get the wax and brow shaping that I had signed up for...but, instead I received a free tweeze (a light one at that), which was determined to be all that was necessary. If you want to receive a menu of all of their services and costs involved, go to their website and be sure and print it out 'cuz you won't find it at the spa. No "menu" was available for the taking or browsing. Just a broshure that provided only some information and some visuals. The products are very good, nonetheless. The massage therapist and estetician (sp?) that were assigned to us were also very well trained. Nice music in the background. Fountains. I think I could go to a spa in my own home town and get far more special attention, ammenities, and a comparable facial for far less money...and my home town is in the beautiful Napa Valley!

I love hot stone massage and this was by far the best hot stone massage ever. I had Allie for 1 1/2 hour massage and she was amazing. Listened to me and sensed my needs and problem stress areas. I felt pampered and well taken care of. The decor and facilities are just OK - not particularly lavish, but everything was clean. The front desk was helpful and this is how they answer the phone "how can we help you enjoy life more?"
Massage was expensive, but well worth it.

After having my last couple of massage experiences leave me cold, I set out in the search for something better. My quest led me to Therapia and Ill never go anywhere else. The spa decor and general atmosphere are very relaxing and immediately start relieving your stress. My massage therapist, Florence, had her work cut out for her since I had had a migraine a few days before and had thrown my hip out the previous night. I told her about the migraine but not the hip, I didnt want to overload her. I might as well have given her a detailed chart of all my misalignments because she sought them all out and adjusted me back to normal. This was not just a back rub! Florence is obviously a very talented healer. She employed several healing methods during my session. I could not be happier with my experience.

I am a dancer and really need a good deep massage on a regular basis. I always find that whoever I book with listens to me and uses the techniques I suggest. I don't know why this business visitor rated his massage so badly just because he can't figure out to park in the nearby garage and can't read simple parking rule signs. Well, he's a tourist so of course...the big city is so SCAWY!

I had the worst shoulder/neck pain. This man saved me! I felt good when I left, but the results came the next day, 100% better. I have been to Therapia about 4 times now and it has been always a great experience, but this last "treatment" with Sufian brought it to a new level!

I called Therapeia and told them that my neck was really bothering me, did they have someone who could help me? I had a 90 minute massage with Dillon and she totally saved me. Not only that, but they made it really easy for me to come in; told me where to park to save time and offered to work with my schedule so that i didn't stress out about it and make my neck worse. The ENTIRE staff was super nice but not cheesy so i felt totally comfortable. After my first visit i became a member and now go for a therapeutic massage every month. they have totally changed my outlook on massage. It's about maintaining health, not pampering yourself (even though it feels so good!!)

If it wasnt for Stephanie I wouldn't be able to play my guitar! I had severe neck pain and numbness in my arms and hands. She made it possible for me to play again. I am so Greatful to her. Therapeia has a great environment and you never leave disappointed.

What a great experience...Mia is a great practitioner. I've had cranial work done before from skilled workers and I felt they were great, but Mia's technique really integrates massage and cranial adjustment and I highly reccommend her. These techniques are very powerful, not just for the body but for the mind. She does a great job. I could feel my body healing itself with her guidance.

Mia really listened to me and was such a great practitioner...I was so pleased with her manner and her skill level. i get alot of massages...and never, in my entire life, have i had a massage so perfect. it was therapeutic, as well as soothing. you really just have to come in and get a massage for yourself, because i really can't describe the experience aptly. i'm even trying to convince my boyfriend (who doesn't want a massage from a guy) to get a massage from dean because it was just so excellent

I had my massage from Dean yesterday and wanted to leave a review for him because I feel so much better today. Sitting at my desk I can notice a difference in how my shoulders feel, and I'm so grateful - I can't wait unitl next time. It is a pleasant place to be, and Dean makes it even more worthwhile. To keep this short and to the point: Dean provided me with a stellar 60 minute massage session yesterday. I too am a bodyworker and was stunned and left in awe after my massage. Words cannot describe how great I felt during and after the session.

I wanted to give my mother a really great birthday present, and so I decided to treat her to a facial at Therapeia. I made the appointment a week in advance for 6:00. The receptionist told us to arrive 15 minutes early, and we got there at 5:40. But we ended up waiting an hour until the facialist came to get my mom. If it had been me I would have left, but I wanted my mom to enjoy her birthday and feel relaxed. The atmosphere was nice, but waiting for an hour made me pretty upset that I didn't really care, especially when the facial cost $155! My mom enjoyed the facial, but said that it wasn't anything special (I didn't tell her how much it was.) Overrall save yourself some money and time and go somewhere else for a facial.

WOW! What a beautiful oasis of tranquility. From the minute I walked in the door I felt relaxed and welcome. The front desk staff was really nice and helpful. The whole place was so elegant, such a nice change from some of those clinical looking all-white spas. My hot stone massage was amazing. I felt like melted butter. You should definitely check out the hot stone.

My back had really been bothering me at work and I was complaining about it to one of my co-workers who I knew used to have some pain from sitting so much too. She told me that her massage therapist at Therapeia had totally helped her by not only making her back feel better, but by giving her stretches to do at work and at home between sessions. I called right away and the really helpful front desk staff fit me in ASAP! I had 90 minutes, which was totally affordable, and I am going back next week. Everyone is really knowlegeable there and I just felt taken care of. I really recommend going here if you are in pain and need to be fixed, or even if you just want to feel better.

I just had the worst day of my life! I was so upset when I walked through the doors of Therapeia, that I was ready to do something drastic. I was greeted with surprising warmth and compassion even though I was 20min. late and pissed! My massage therapist Evan, was so nuturing and gave me the most amazing massage of my life! Not only was my body transformed, but Evans incredible work saved me from making a rash decision! I'm not your "regular" spa person, but I hadn't had a facial since the dark ages, and the appointment was a gift! I was so pleasantly and thoroughly delighted with not only the facial, but Diane was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and sincerely friendly. She had helpful tips regarding skin improvement that didn't even require the use of products.The products she did use and her techniques made my skin feel so clean and soft and velvety! From the moment you walk in to Therapeia, you know this is not your typical day spa. The desk staff is warm and friendly. They are quick to offer water in a glass. The massage therapist was on time and happy to see me. There were no bathrobes or champagne, but the bodywork is where it is at. The therapist applied perfect pressure for the best two hour massage I have ever had. After I was finished, the therapist offered me a nice card with some of his reccomendations. I also found out they offer yoga and acupuncture. Therapeis rocks.

From the moment I walked in I was greeted with smiles and warmth from everyone I came into contact with. The massage was the best I have EVER had and I have been getting massages for over 20 years for chronic back pain. My therapist seemed almost clairvoyant in knowing exactly how much pressure to use and where I needed work. I had to force myself to stand upright afterwards and leave after making another appointment for the following weekend! This place is a real gem!

Healed! Craig made my knee pain disappear! He was extremely thorough in his consultation (explained everything!) and very warm and friendly, which instantly put me at ease. The treatment ended up being unbelievably relaxing and healing. I can't wait to go back for another session. I know that the acupuncture and yoga are excellent...now I am just dying to try a massage and facial. Pretty awesome how everyone at Therapeia is freindly, too... such a great vibe there.

What a treat! I am so glad I discovered this oasis of healing and relaxation. A friend turned me on to it and I am so grateful. I have been looking for a really good massage place and Therapeia has it all. Great staff, nice vibe and truly amazing massage!!!!! I tried the Bliss Therapy and the name does not do it justice. I was transported to another dimension! A two person massage-- how cool is that-- follwed by steam tent and a warm oil treatment. You gotta check this out.

Thanks to Therapeia and Endermologie, I am able to wear a bikini on my honeymoon and not be ashamed of my dimple-ridden backside...A horrifying experience to look in the mirror since adolescence, I am finally free to live like a normal person. Endermologie is amazing - basically a machine that rolls over your body like a vacuum - very relaxing and it actually feels good. The staff is very personable and were sensitive to my needs. To all of the women out there who have ever felt self-concious or less than - this is the answer! No more puckering skin or drooping butt cheeks. No more shorts instead of bathing suit bottoms. I never submit my 2cents, but Helene was so great at Therapeia, I feel it would be a disservice to the public if I didn't let you know: Had the BEST massage of my life. I'm usually really tense and tickish--practically unmassageable. Helene gave me such a great massage, I slept so well last night! Today, I woke up ultra-refreshed for the first time in months! I got the hot stone massage and it was by far the best massage experience of my life. I am a spa regular and have tried many of the more upscale places in the city. Although Therapeia has fairly sparce but clean decor, the therapists were extremely attentive and the well trained. I have found my favorite spa in the city and plan to become a regular of Therapeia.

I just have to let everyone know what a fantastic place this is! My husband and I went in for Hot Stone massages wondering what in the world that was -- It's the most amazing massage we've ever had. I woke up with warm stones in between my toes and underneath me they had placed the stones as an outline of my body. My husband could barely speak because he was so relaxed. He took me out for my favorite dinner to thank me for choosing the best massage place!

the yoga classes at therapeia are the best in the city, hands down. they are big enough to bring a sense of community to your yoga practice but small enough that you get real attention from the instructor. Plus the teachers are super friendly and knowledgeable. They really care about you and your practice no matter where you are.

I just experienced the most wonderful treatment. I had a hotstone massage followed by a hotstone facial. It was heavenly to have the stones melting the muscles in my body. The staff was excellent and the sapce unique. I will definatly be back for more.
