My friends and I go to Black Bear Lodge all the time and we always have a blast!! The drinks are cheap, jukebox is awesome and the bartenders are awesome- they're hot girls who can actually pour a good drink!
Pros: Good Crowd, Cheap Drinks, Fun Games

Went to BBL Friday night and had a great time!!! The witty bartender made me laugh so hard I'll be back just for her. She's rough/sarcastic but sweet when you realize that she's being facetious (Lisha she's called). PBR's were cheap and a couple free shots were thrown my way;-) I will defo be back.
Pros: Cute Bartenders who make you laugh
Cons: Carpet?

A group of use who are loyal customers will never come back here again. The bouncers for some strange reason love harassing the women who go her. The men I guess are ok but we kept noticing how this short balding bouncer kept manhandling this female patron. The poor girl kept trying to explain to him how rudely the bartender kept treating her. But the meat head wouldn?t give her a chance to speak. The other crazy thing is, bad-drink making bartender kept lifting up her shirt in the bar, I don?t know why because the juke boxed sucked and our Saturday was ruined at this spot. After the bouncer yelled at the girl all of her nine friends just walked out. It isn?t worth patronizing this place.
They treat the patrons like they are idiots who don?t even know what kind of drink there drinking so Black Bear Lodge will make them what they think they should have to drink and not what they ordered. I guess that?s why the girl and her group was so angry because if you order Jack Sours, you should get Jack Sours. I wished the girl should have yelled at the ugly bouncer but then he might have gotten more idiotic on her. My Patron drink seemed very watered-down also and Black Bear just lost four more good patrons.
Pros: None
Cons: Watered-down, overpriced drinks and bad attitude bartenders.

I planned a New Years Eve party at the Black Bear Lodge and it was great. Belle and the rest of the staff was so helpful in the planning, the renting of the two back rooms, the drinks, the decorations and anything else we needed. People came up to me and said it was the best New Years ever, and I know that a lot of it was due to the awesomeness of the BBL.

I have only been to the Black Bear Lodge once. That one time was last night, but I'm pretty sure it was the greatest night of my life. Where else in New York City can you find a place that is decorated like a hunting lodge and serves buckets of Natural Lights? Also, the chicks there were smokin' hot. I have only two minor criticisms of the place: 1. The buckets of Naturals might be too good a deal, and 2. My friend John scooped this girl with whom I had initiatiated conversation. Other than those minor grievances, Black Bear Lodge gets 5 stars.

My friends and I stoppped by Black Bear Lodge last night on a whim and loved it! The lodge theme was something different than all the other bars we usually frequent, and it was filled with a fun, unpretentious crowd of mainly twentysomethings. Drinks are also cheap...will definitely return!
Pros: Nice atmosphere, cheap drinks

went to black bear for my b-day last year and have gone back a number of times including new years, each time with a decent size group. went back for my b-day this year, my friends and i were hanging out at one of the tables listening to the jukebox. everyone was having a good time when two girls went to the bathroom and the bar boy decided two girls are not allowed to go to the bathroom together regardless of the fact there was NO line and the other bathroom was free and available. two girls went to the bathroom and an entire group of us were kicked out of the bar so much for treating loyal customers well.

My boyfriend and I went there after reading about it in Time out. It was a plesant surprise. The drinks are reasonable cheap, the atmosphere is fun, laid back, and easy going. The only bad side was the music was so loud in the front room, we had to move to the back rooms to carry on a conversation.
Pros: Cheap drinks, Laid back
Cons: Too Loud

Thank God. The Black Bear was open!
And stayed open - all night long......
I didn't know where to go when the city went dark last week. My cell phone didn't work so I couldn't contact my friends. What to do?? I decided to head to the Black Bear and hoped that at least I would meet someone I knew. Everybody I knew was there!!! Everybody had the same idea!
Thanks Black Bear (Paul, Kelly, Joan, Brenda, etc....). You guys rock!
Pros: Staff, Clientele, Location

Stopped by the Black Bear by accident last night. Great new scene, with what I think could be the hottest bartenders in the NYC! They just ooze sexuality. Drinks are reasonable, and overall scene is good. I will be back!

The back room is wood walled and comfortable for groups of six or more. They have a plasma TV to watch the game on. Draft Guiness is $6 and Stella is $5. Molson bottles are usually $3.
Pros: Smells like wood, Plasma TV, Jukebox selection
Cons: Jukebox selection, No pitchers, Far from Central Park

A fun spot with a ski/hunting lodge theme and great jukebox. The three rooms--TV room, fireplace room and bar--each offer a different atmosphere, so there's something for everyone. Lots of drink offers and a good selection of games, including Golden Tee 2004 and Buck Hunter. Perfect for a night out with a large or small group--or a date--and ideal for parties. Great neighborhood location.
Pros: jukebox, games, varied rooms
