Every staff member from door to the waitress were horrible.\r\n\r\n1. I usually dont care for waitress to keep on checking on us, but having to ask 3 times for silverware (which was not on the table since we were seated) and having eventually to take them myself from next table is a total shame.\r\n\r\n2. While leaving ( I was still at the table signing the check.) my daughters bottle fell on the floor (which my wife did not notice right away) and at the same time one of their associate was passing by, saw the bottle on the floor and did not even bother to let her know or pick it up.\r\n\r\n3. Dont even want to mention the rest of their unfriendly service and very so-so food.\r\n\r\nRed Lobster, way better and cheaper that this place.\r\nWant to eat fish while watching them swim go to Denver Aquarium Restaurant and see sharks swimming next to you.

Pros: Its expensive, so it should be good, right?

Cons: Horrible Service and Food.

Pros: server Bryon was great

I can't believe how disapointed I was taking a client from our office at end of September. Have been there maybe 3 times in the last 4 years. Poor service by the waiter (Elias?). The manager was giving people a difficult time in regards to the quality of their meals. Two older ladies left their food on the table. I know I won't bring clients back here,

Our first anniversary on 9/29 and received a gift certificate. The waiter was Inattentive the busboy was great. Food was good at the bar but the dinners were NOT worth what we paid. Price of beers not on menus-should be. Could not get refills on all you can eat crab legs ($19.99). No waiter after initial plate delivered. Mahi Mahi flavourless, plastic cup of brown liquid on side! What gives??? After waiting and waiting for my wifes refill of crab legs and tired of hearing other guests at other tables complain about how bad the food was we decided to leave. Manager refused to accept the gift certificate unless we paid $29.99 for the one plate of snow crab legs. He said we could use it some other time as it was not good on any specials. Not wanting to spoil our first anniversary, I didn't argue. I would not recommend this place. Be warned of their business dealings. Gift certificates should be as good as money . If not they shouldn't issue them. Will NOT be back ever. The only reason they recvd. one star is the price of appetizers at the bar during happy hour.

I had never been here before and I heard how good it was and that it was voted denver's "best", yadda yadda yadda. I figured I would try it. Everything was alright up until the food started coming. My salad out of three somehow didnt have crutons?? And the lettuce tasted cucumber skins, way to bitter. The calamari was no where near the best in denver, pappadeaux i.m.o. is. I ordered the crab legs after seeing the bluehair next to me complain about his lobster. When I get crab legs I typically expect to get the claws, well not here when I mentioned it they gave me some lame excuse that they use them for an appetizer. The legs themselves must have been missing a section or two cause they were TINY!!! As I broke into the first one all the meat was stuck to the shell a.k.a. over cooked. At this point I would have been happier with my Albertson's Market legs. I ended up sending the plate back and telling them thanks for trying but I'm good for now. No attempt was made to offer anything else really, just a sorry, and few table slaps as they walked away seeming to hear these type of complaints often. Overall it was what a perfect terrible experience should be like, so if you like terrible sea food and bad managment, ya know what dont bother even going here Red Lobster yields more satisfaction.

The Fresh Fish Company is the best seafood experience I've had here in Denver. Who knew fresh seafood...in DENVER!!! I go often for their 50 cent oysters at happy hour but always love their wide arrange of fresh fish. They have an amazing staff and wonderful management who make you feel like you should be a having a wonderful dinning experience. I enjoy going back time and time again. I always let people who are visiting Denver know that the Fresh Fish Company is a must visit on their vacation dinning experience!- Melissa

My girlfriend and I went to the Fresh Fish company for our anniversary and it was an incredible disappointment. When we arrived, the atmosphere was very unlively even on a Friday night. Unexpected for a restaurant that is always spoken so highly of. Our food was awful. Both fish entrees (Mahi Mahi and Ono) were so overcooked that they lacked any flavor and were incredibly difficult to chew. Not to mention that the overall quality of the fish was anything but ""fresh"". We alerted the manager and he tried to explain to us that this was just characteristic of the fish. My girlfriend and I frequent fish restaurants on a regular basis, and know what it is supposed to taste like; this was by far the worst. We would have been much more satisfied buying frozen fish fillets at the grocery store. It is safe to say that we will never step foot in this establishment again.

The food is ok. Service is just ok. The place is clean. The atmosphere is not typical of a seafood restaurant. I know people who love the place, but I'm not one of them.

Got taken here recently (not my idea) because it has never been a favorite. My X and I actually had a part time gig doing mystery ""shopping"" for the management team many years ago. Didn't like it much then and we were dining for free. Nothing has changed in the last ten years, including the decor which is in serious need of an update. I hate the canned recitation the servers are forced to deliver. Feels too ""corporate"". Actually, the only thing I've ever like is the calamari and it's still ok but at these prices everything should be flawless.

I had a wonderful experience here last night! I had practical, knowledgeable advice when choosing my wine, when my server pointed out a lightly sweet reisling. Very helpful and honest.Helped me avoid disaster while ordering wine. Blueberry lemonade was very tasty. I had the best crab legs that I have ever tasted. Also the Mahi was exactly as it should be, wonderfully grilled and slight smoked taste. Crab stuffed mushrooms, positively addicting! The sauce was just perfect!

We went in for dinner last night to sample the preview 5280 menu that was emailed to us and had a wonderful time! It was a special treat for us to join the email club and get all kinds of various offers, especially this one. It was a great overall variety of items at a truly reasonable price! The waitress was one of the best I have experienced and we got a kick out of her seriousness about her position and her personalized pepper mill!! We will definitely be back!

Extremely Horrible Service,\r\nWe tried to celebrate our 28th Wedding Aniversary last night as our waitress did know.\r\nMy waitress pased us many times all night never asking if we were ok.\r\nI had to stick my arm out and ask for more drinks waving down our waitress.\r\nThe fish portions were very small but tasty!\r\nThe food was good but I do not recommend this place for a special occasion, I get better service at Denny's.

I really enjoy their ceasar salad and pasta with shrimp. The atmosphere is pretty good, and I love all of the aquariums they have everywhere. A bit pricy but they have the best seafood in Denver.

This is one of the best restaurants we like to frequent. The calamari is the best around Colorado and our service was great as usual. We were in for the lobster email special, my lobster was great and my wife's surf and turf was tasty and well cooked.

I have been looking forward to going to the Fresh Fish company and after our meal I wish we had never gone! From the moment when we walked in the door and greeted by a very snobby hostess I knew it wasn't going to be what I expected. The dining area looked like an old casino buffet restaurant with tacky wall art and lights. Our server bosted about the fish special and pasta in which my boyfriend and I took his advice and ordered. Along with our meal I wanted to try ""Denver's best"" calamari for an appetizer. DEFINITELY not Denver's best!!! Sure it looked pretty but it lacked in any flavor in which they try to make up with their dipping sauce. The clam chowder was nothing special, very bland as well. Our main entree was even worse. I had a pasta with king crab and shrimp with a spicy tomato sauce. The shrimp were VERY small and I have never had crab that tasted so fishy. It was shredded in the pasta and almost tasted like tuna instead of crab. VERY dissapointing. My boyfriend's fish platter with 3 different types of fish was the same, very bland and had to be doused with lemon to remotely enjoy it. For a $70 meal it definitely wasn't worth it!!!

Worst dining experience ever. These folks have fallen far. We have enthusiatically visited the Fresh Fish Company for many years, but last night's meal was a dismal experience and I doubt we will ever return. Among the litany of occurences\r\n-the seat of the booth was wet when we sat down\r\n-numerous waitstaff passed by our table as the empty dishes piled up\r\n-the promised fresh pepper for our salad never materialized and we had to grab a busboy\r\n-a request for water was never fulfilled\r\n- an ordered side dish was never delivered\r\n-presentation of the dishes was abominable, not even a sprig of parsley to liven up the plate\r\n-when our waitperson did surface, it was only because she was rushing somewhere else and seemed not to care about our responses\r\nThere certainly seemed to be plenty of staff running around, yet the place was unusually sparse for a Saturday evening. The food was adequate, although my tuna was overdone. There are simply too many other similarly-priced restaurants around to waste time and money on what was once an exceptional place to dine. My condolences.

I had dinner last night at the Fresh Fish Company for my birthday, as I do almost every year. I ordered the coconut shrimp. When they came out, they were this purple grey color. It looked awful. The breading and the shrimp were this color. I asked the waitress and she agreed that they did not look right. She put in a new order. The second time, a manager brought them to me. He put the plate down and asked in an extremely rude way ""Do these look better to you""? Well no, actually they didnt. They were still grey/purple, and now i was angry that the manager was acting as if I was being too picky. Sorry I don't prefer grey shrimp! By this time everyone else has finished eating, I am now eating the sides dishes, by myslef. When the waitress came back over I asked her if she could just send someone over who knew why the shrimp were purple. The same rude manager came over and went into this explanation that there is some sort of ""deoxidation"" process that happens and they don't know it has until after the shrimp are cooked???????? So they bought us dessert, and I got my birthday discount, but I will never return to this restaurant. I mean GREY SHRIMP? Seriously?

Wanted to take my Grandparents out because both of their birthdays were last week. They suggested the Red Lobster, I wanted something different. Had never been to the Fresh Fish Company but had heard a lot of good things about it. I called and made reservations the night before for brunch.\r\n\r\nWe got there and they asked if we knew about their birthday club. I said no. They handed us forms to fill out for my Grandparents. Discount being 1% for every birthday year. My Grandfather had turned 91 and my Grandmother 85. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they honored the discount - there were four of us and we basically ate at half price.\r\n\r\nWe didn't wait a single minute to get seated. The food was great for Denver (not what you'd find on the East or West coast but terrific considering other options in Denver), prices were reasonable I felt for the quantity of food, the selection was great, and the wait staff was very courteous and friendly. On our way out, my Grandfather liked it so much he made reservations for us for Father's Day.\r\n\r\nI would recommend this place to anyone and I'll be returning for sure.

Not being Denver natives, we had asked several people where to go for fresh seafood, they had suggested this restaurant. Obviously the people we asked have had very limited food experience. This place is disgusting both in it's decor and food. I struggle to put it into words... let's put it this way, we took our Romanian foreign exchange student there for a special farewell meal, and I actually ended up apologizing to this 17 year old several times because I was so embarassed by the entire experience.

After reading the reviews, I was very excited to go have ""...best fish in Denver."" Even more, on their menu they have ""...the best calamari in Denver."" Not even close. The best calamari is still at The Black Pearl in Platte Park. The fish was Ok, by far not the best. I've had better at Jax and Itzakaya Den. I would highly not recommend going here. If you want the best fish, stay in Platte Park or Wash Park.

We used to love going to the fresh fish company as a way to treat ourselves, but the last couple of trips here have us looking for a new place. The prices are high, which I wouldn't mind paying if the quality was better than Red Lobster. The wait staff is still excellent. I am not sure if the chef is new, or the ingrediants are being purchased from a new vendor, but it is not the same anymore. I would still go here to eat, but am looking for a new "special" place to have that intimate quality dining experience. Plenty of parking is available.

This is my first review but I think people should know the truth about this place. Over the years I've heard a lot of positive reviews about this joint so finally decided to give it a shot. Walked inside and sat at the bar while waiting for a table. So far everything appeared to look good and didn't wait long to be seated. After being seated in a booth that looked like it had been there since the 70's, I had the opportunity to view my surroundings. Fish tanks everywhere which looked nice but nothing else. I agree with the other posts, it seemed like I was eating at Grandma's house. The decor was very outdated from the lighting to the glasses. This place definitely needs a facelift.\r\nThen there is the food. I ordered Filet with Crab legs. The bread they started us off with was good. Then I tried the clam chowder. It tasted like it was made last year. The kind I buy in a can is gourmet compared to that gruel. Then I finally got my meal. The steak was cooked perfect but was tasteless. I don't think they know it is good to use herbs and spices on meat. The crab legs were good, no complaints on those. The mash potatos were tasty as well but looked like they were scooped from a buffet tray. The steamed veggies were okay. Overall, the appearance of the food sucked. Everything just looked like it was thrown on a plate and did not have an appetizing look. The food was room temperature as well. Then it was time for dessert. Key Lime pie was the choice. I was really looking forward to this. First thought was ""what the heck is this green junk on my dang pie?"" It looked like slime. First bite I almost vomitted. My pie was room temperature! It was pretty tart but who eats warm key lime! That was bad. \r\nOverall, I am not very hard to please. I thought that this was one of my worst dining experiences and will never return. Food is overpriced, tasteless, atmosphere outdated, and service was average. I will stick to PappaDeaux for my seafood.

Pros: Fairly fast seating and nice fishtanks

Cons: food and atmosphere. Lets not mention being overpriced

.

I don't understand how this restaurant has such a high ranking. The food was overpriced and cooked poorly. Our mashed potatoes were thrown on our plate with an icecream scoop I felt like I was eating in my middle school cafeteria, and it's been decades since I was in middle school. I felt like we were in a nursing home or grandma's house or something, they have these outdated doilies on everything and the entire restaurant is just decorated very poorly the food was not presentable and looked very unappetizing, because it was! The filet miniogn was overcooked and tough. Our server continually brought us someone else's stuff or took our stuff to the wrong table. He was mediocre at best, which by FAR supersceded the quality of the food. Then when I got dessert, I pulled out TOILET PAPER from my icecream!!!! I have never been soo disgusted in my life I nearly regurgitated right there at the table. The manager/owner came by shortly afterwards to apologize and ""insist"" on giving us a discount for next time, when I told her there would never be a next time she ignored me and gave it to my boyfriend instead because she just HAD to do something, HOW ABOUT MAKING SURE YOUR PEOPLE DON'T PUT TOILET PAPER IN THE FOOD YOU SICKO! This place should be out of business, if this restaurant was featured on Hell's Kitchen, Chef Ramsey would tear them a new one and then some. Don't go here unless you have pica and like eating fecal matter and toilet paper.

Pros: The aquariums were lovely but some were filthy and empty

Cons: Everything else such as food, cleanliness and hygiene of food!

On Monday May14th my family and I and our house guest from Ireland dined at your restaurant. It was very disappointing. Three of us ordered lobster tail and it tasted like it had been reheated several times. It was very tough and hard to cut and did not taste anything like lobster. The other three meals were very good.\r\n\r\n About a half hour after we left our guest realized he had left his camera on the\r\ntable. We returned right away and were told they didn?t see the camera. Unfortunately we were very disappointed to hear this, as we are positive it was left on the table. I returned to the restaurant the next day to check again about the camera and the waiter said it definitely was not there and suggested we left it somewhere else. We did not go anywhere else.\r\n This left us with a very bad feeling of distaste for your restaurant.\r\n

We were given a gift card for the restaurant and finally made it there. We were excited to try this out. The sitting was fast, but a very uncomfortable booth they sat us in. We sat and after five minutes waitress came to take order for appetizers, we order the crab stuffed mushrooms and coc. shrimp. Waited at least a 1/2 hour to app. to arrive. Shrimp very dry and crab stuffed mushs. I think this was canned crab, both flavorless, absolutly no flavor to this food. Done with apps. waited another 1/2 hour at least for main meal. Catfish was one little fillet (Tasteless, no flavor) was it even catfish? The other fish (Cod) and chips. Where is the flavor to this food? I cannot understand why somebody would give this overpriced and flavorless food restaurant a good review. If I would of had to pay for this meal, I would of demanded a refund. The worse experience I have had in a restaurant. Long John Silvers puts this place to shame.

Pros: Ice Tea was'nt bad

Cons: No flavor to food, everything

On sundays they have the most amaxing brunch I have ever had! It is an all you can eat buffet of almost anything you could ever want. Not to mention all you can eat crab and shrimp. The buffet not only has many seafood dishes, but also traitional dishes like french toast or eggs. There are also many different types of deserts so that there is at least one thing for each person! The restaurant is expensive, but completely worth it.

I have been coming to the Fresh Fish Company for 10 years or so and think I have only had one bad meal in all that time. The Calamari is one of my favorites and is done like no else has done and has a Coconut Curry Sauce thats to die for. I go at least once a month and love the Brunch and Birthday dinners. The only complaint about the brunch is that its the same seafood items, they need to mix it up a bit. Service is ok, have had a few problems there when its really busy. But over all I would high recommend it.

Went to the Sunday Brunch with family in from Boston, it was the hit of the trip! They loved it! Food was great and our table was constantly brimming with crab legs. I have to admit I'm not a big seafood fan, but I enjoyed one of the best breakfasts ever! I was in heaven with the fruit blintzes, french toast, eggs benedict and those desserts! Our server was great, quick with refills, but didn't hover over us. We ended up staying much longer than we expected, but they didn't make us feel hurried to leave. Very friendly staff and manager. The downside for the family was the line to get to the food was too long at times. Best brunch we've found yet! Received a thank you card today from the family, they said we really know how to eat here in Colorado!

I've lived in Colorado for 23 years, and this is my favorite place to get great seafood. I love the new selection on thier menu, and the sauces are great. The buffet has good food, but the atmosphere is similar to Country Buffet with people fighting you in line for food. I prefer dinner or lunch here where the true quality of their food is seen. Whenever I have guests here in town, I take them here and have never been disapointed. The ambience isn't as good as most other restaurants of this quality, but the food and service more than make up for it. For a romantic date, you need to request a quiet booth because there are some tables in the restaurant that I wouldn't wish upon to an enemy. I tell everyone I know to give it a try, and most agree that the food is outstanding.

We went to the Fish Company and were disappointed as soon as we went in. It has a worn out tired look unless you are a ""blue-hair"" and absolutely no atmosphere at all, resembling a large banquet area where people are corraled in. The food was unremarkable, fish was tasteless and the sides were bland. Service was obtrusive on overselling but lacking in attentiveness. If people actually think this is a great seafood restaurant then they have nothing to compare it against. I'd never go back unless they tore it down and started over. Yuk.

Great place for seafood; TERRIBLE place for steaks. The filet is tiny and gamey. This has happened to me more than once. I do not recommend getting surf and turf. Everything else on was more than adequate. If you want seafood in Denver go here.

Food was just okay. Don't mind paying a high price for an excellent meal, but this is not it! Salty crab legs, dried and flavorless primerib. My family was very disappointed. We will not be going back. I have not real complaints on service, just the quality of the food coming off the grill.

I have been a long time client of this restaurant. I have to admit that the calamari has changed. Last time I had it it was doughy and very chewy. I didn't enjoy it.\n\nThe rest of the food is still pretty good. I like to get the steamed mussels. They serve great sourdough bread which is great to dip in the broth. Served with a glass of wine, it is a full meal.\n\nI have always had good service here, but then I know most of the waiters, and request the good ones. When you tip well, you get good service

July 2008 - Wow. CitySearch is saying 4-1/2+ stars, but the math, based on reviews, says 2.7 stars. Big difference!\r\n\r\nI wrote a review in June 2006 ? 1 star. I didn?t think I?d ever come back, but sometimes you just have to.\r\n\r\nIt was a beautiful July 2008 evening. We arrived Friday at 6pm and left at 8pm. The restaurant was never half full (from what I could see). Based on my last experience and this experience (and from all the others for that matter) I can see why.\r\n\r\nQuality ? down,\r\nPortions ? down,\r\nPrice ? stable,\r\nService ? substandard,\r\n\r\nThe funniest part (depending on your sense of humor) ? the waiter gives me the bill for $125. I review it, some items were overcharged, other items were missing, but the overall tab looked OK. I gave him my Discover card. He comes back with a charge on my card for over $180! When I asked what happened, he blamed it on the manager. They decided it was better to slip it by than talk to me. It got taken care of, but it was a good thing I was looking. Beware!\r\n\r\nJune 2006 - Last night was my fourth or fifth visit over the last 20+ years, and I always leave wondering why I came back. \r\n\r\nI ordered the ? Maine lobster and 10 oz prime rib. Three bites and the lobster was gone - the prime rib was overcooked, dry and tough. While the waitress returned a few times to check on us, I would rate the overall service substandard.\r\n\r\nWe never got the extra bread we ordered, when drinks ran out, she was not around, the wait staff rudely stretched over the table to place food, put pepper on salads and they needed help to clear plates. When serving the moist, hot towels at the end of the meal, and the rude across-the-table stretch proved to be inadequate they gave a slight toss of the towel to their guest! Good thing she could catch!

Pros: Nothing - not for the price

Cons: Food, Service and Portions

I felt the food was of the same quality as Red Lobster, but much more expensive. Pretty typical chain quality. And, the calamari wasn't light and refreshing, but quite heavy and slightly chewy.

I decided to go here as a first date. The lady I was accompanying is from the coast and I'd heard that the seafood here was the freshest in Denver. I made an online reservation with the discount, as I'd also heard it's not the cheapest place. The food was great, we both agreed. However the service was intrusive and when 9:30 hit the help kept glaring at us. I'm unlikely to return, especially on a first date. Oh, and they didn't figure in the online/off-peak discount either. Too bad.

Took my sweetheart to FFC for dinner. We arrived very early and had an app in the bar along with some cocktails. Although the bar is quite small it was also cozy and quiet enough to chat while we waited for our reservation time. \nWe were seated within a few minutes of telling the hostess we were ready and received fun and fast service.\nThe food was excellent and fairly priced for the quality of the seafood.\nWe had a great time and will be going back again!

I went for Sunday Brunch and was very dissapointed. While the french toast was to die for, everything else was rather ordinary. I am a seafood lover, especially salmon, and I threw most of my salmon and other seafood away. The best part was the breakfast...but it's pretty hard to screw up breakfast. The lunch items weren't very fresh, and the desserts were just OK. For $18.99, I felt it was a waste of my money.
