Definitely a unique place, it looks like a ski lodge indie. The crowd can be a mixed bad, but if you go with about 5 people it's a fun time (although that's true for any bar). The bar tender I had wasn't exactly anything to write home about as he managed to spill whiskey all over me, he did apologize though. So if you want something a little different I highly recommend it.

I was in New York City visiting my girls and one of them is real cool with Kong from theKONGLIST- NYC promoter and did he show us to a good time or what? He escorted me & 3 girls inside, gave us a grand tour of the venue...wooden furnitures & fixtures, ice-sculpted deer heads on the wall against the bar and the back opens up to remind me of a snowy-night up in the Aspen mountains! Drinks were average (around $10)...the music was INCREDIBLE (dj's spinning the hottest & latest new hits from the East Coast)...but above all, Kong was like the greatest host I've ever met! He was an absolute gentlemen and took care of us like we were life long friends! I'm sure he's been doing this for years and I would always support his parties and choice of venues...Aspen is a FUN-TA-BULOUS spot...I'm sure that's why he's there! lol

Pros: Classy, upscale crowd w/ awesome music!

Cons: Wish ASPEN was in L.A.

this is the first review i've ever written in my life. normally i'm on here to find out what everyone else is thinkin' about somewhere.. but my experience last saturday night for my birthday party was great. i know alot of people always say things never go right when you book a clubspot with a promoter but that wasnt the case for my party. The music was awesome and really mixed.. and the crowd was hot!! I did the whole vip thing which actually went well!!!
I booked everything with a promoter named Steph and she told me to speak to the doorman named Dave who does the door. When i got there that night - No one tried to make me buy more bottles, nor demanded that my guests do either! When i got there, i asked for Dave and since it was my birthday he let myself and 2 of my girlfriends right in!!! (How awesome!!!) He got the bottle hostes for us and this was the First Time that i wasnt demanded to do more bottles then I wanted to do!!!
As long as your friends dress good and have i.ds none of your friends will have a hard time and that was one of the best parts about comin' here! Granted i would of wished the spot was larger then it is, but it was definietly a great time. The whole staff was really customer friendly. i definietly recommend if your looking for somethin' different and celebrating a party!

I am not one to write a review but had some friends in town and we were looking for another place to eat and i went to check on one of my favorite spots, Aspen to see their reviews - just for fun and I must disagree 110% with the previous review. Aspen has been around going on 2 or 3 years I think and it has had it's ups and downs but nothing that would prevent me from coming back. This previous year, they added a new GM, Lenny who upon my arrival a few months ago, i had the pleasure of meeting. He was the most gracious manger I have ever met and you can see he truly cares about the restaurant. The food, I must say is always always good. The Seared Tuna is fantastic - as are the sliders which are prepared pretty rare so know that going in and I'm sure they can cook them to you liking. The steak is a great piece of meat, the mac and cheese is 100% one of the best in the city and i really always feel great when I'm there and feel taken care of. Sometimes it's too loud but if you ask, they will lower the music and I honestly regard this as one of my places i take friends from out of town and know - they will love the food and have a good NY experience. I think, with anything, you should ask questions and from my experience, they were more than happy to help me with any request so I must say YES YES YES to aspen and I look forward to many more dinner there.

Pros: Great food, great on a date, great for out of town guests

Cons: sometimes too loud or too hot from the fireplace

Having lived in Aspen in the past, I figured it would be interesting to see the New York City take on my little mountain town. When we arrived, the place was almost empty, nobody sitting at the tables and five people total clustered around the fire. Our reservation was for 7PM, so perhaps it was simply too early.

We took a gander at the RW menu but nothing looked even remotely interesting so we went ahead and ordered off the regular menu instead. We started with the soup of the day (carrot ginger) and the warm goat cheese and arugula salad. I am not sure which cook missed tasting the soup, but the top notes were salt and cream. The carrot never came through and the ginger was a disappointing third on the palate, barely discernible. After the third bite, I felt as though I were eating pure salt and gave up. The salad was good, a basic green salad with a breaded goat cheese puck about the size of a silver dollar. It was fine, but the goat cheese honestly tasted like something that arrived to the kitchen frozen and was reheated from there.

After our disappointing starters, I was really hoping for a turnaround with our main courses. Sadly, it was not to be. My beau had the Pan Roasted Mahi Mahi with green papaya, ginger and citrus sauce. The Mahi Mahi was good, but nothing really stood out about the dish or the flavors. I ordered the Seared Yellowfin Tuna with fresh tomatoes, holly basil and kalamata olives. Interesting presentation on the tuna: it arrived in all its glory with no real accompaniments. Essentially, a slab of fish on a plate with a couple of tomatoes and olives. The fish had a ghost of tuna flavor but none of the heartiness I generally expect to find with tuna.

A largely forgettable meal overall, and we will not be back to Aspen in the future. After all, it's New York City and the gastronomical possibilities are endless!

We went for Restaurant week, we made our reservation for 8 people at 6pm, a day before we knew everyone couldnt make it by 6 so we tried to change our reservation to later. However, they insisted that they were booked and could not accomodate us any later. When we arrived we had a drink at the bar, bartender was nice, good happy hour special. The back dining room area was pretty much empty, we sat the part of our party that was there, when we went to order drinks we realized drinks were terribly overpriced meanwhile we were just paying like 5 dollars at the bar, the happy hour special did not apply to the table, so we got our drinks from the bar which was like (3 steps away) of course this annoyed our waitress. We then informed her that we wanted to order before the rest of our party arrived because they were delayed she made a face like that seemed to say that wasnt possible and said she had to talk to the hostess, after she took her sweet time speaking to the hostess she came back and had them clear the other side of our table. As if they really needed the extra table, the place was empty! There were like 4-6 tables being occupied. You would think they would at least want to satisfy the small number of customers they actually had there! When the food arrived it was just so so, nothing special at all. Lobster Bisque was salty, i couldve gotten my chicken and mashed potatoes at boston market, and the desert was just blah. When the rest of our party arrived we were already eating so we asked for seperate checks as we were done about an hour before them and wanted to head out, the waitress insisted that no it could not be split up. Could it be because she wanted to ensure that she got her automatic 20% gratuity for a party of more than 6??? She mustve of known that she was far from friendly from the beginning. There are so many better places in the city for cheaper or at least worth your money! So to sum it up, hang out at the bar but steer clear of dinner here!!!

Pros: The bar and the one pretty fireplace

Cons: Service and food

A friend of mine booked the Gonzo room for her 25th birthday party, which had its own private bar, and bathroom.....great place for a private party/dinner. Clint, our host/waiter was very friendly and helpful. We also received complimentary champagne for drinking and toasting and we were even allowed to bring our own bday cake. On the dowside, the food was pricey and the portions were small. I ordered two appetizers as my meal (crab cakes and shrimp quesadillas), the plate was well decorated, but the actual food was just OK; however, I will say that they have the best calamari that i have ever tasted. We couldn't stop talking about about how great the calamari tasted. Overall, we had a great time in the Gonzo room; the service was excellent and the staff is very accommodating; however, I do wish that the food was little tastier and the portions, larger. The total bill for 11 people came up to approximately $590.

I was looking for a new quality restaurant to celebrate my dad's new job offer. I decided to go . It was an excellent experience. The service was impeccable, and the food was delicious. The portions were perfect, and we all felt great after the meal without feeling too full.
It is an expensive meal, but that's what I expect with fine dining.

The drinks were ridiculously overpriced. I payed $16 for vodka and soda that had no vodka in it. Others in my party had same experience. If you are going to charge that much for a drink it may be a good idea to actually put the liquor in it. Way too crowded and way overpriced. They actually 'ran out' of Pinot Grigio in the beginning of the night.

Much better places to go to than this. It is impossible to even get a drink.

This place has certain potential, but does not live up to it. There is a nice room in the back that no one uses, everyone just packs into the narrow entrance because thats where the bar is located and the bartenders are slow. I have a suggestion...Put a bar in that back room, it will spread the crowd out and make it easier to get a drink as well. If more people hung out in the back room, i think it would be more enjoyable for all. Also...it doesn't have to be pitch black, a little light never hurt anyone....

We have had lunch here a few times as it is near our office. It seems never to be packed but we like it. The food is good and the prices are good for Park Avenue.

I went there for lunch on a whim with a friend. Although the place was empty (I'm new to New York, so I'm told this is not unusual), the food was really good. I enjoy my meal as did my friend. I have not been there at night, but I will try it out to see if the other reviews are accurate. In the meantime, the food is excellent.

went there last night for a birthday party and the place was a big disappointment. poor air conditioning for a hot and humid night so it was like a gym where you got to figure out who has BO problems. The bar had a service time as if we were at one of the hot clubs even though the place was half empty. To top it all off, besides our group, the place was a sausage fest.

Add in the strange restaurant layout, and you have a place that you should strictly avoid unless someone is paying you to go. If we didn't feel obligated to wait around for the birthday girl, we would have cleared out much earlier.

very bland crowd, bad music, and the fireplace made the back room too hot when they opened it up after dinner. It's a nice idea, but can't think of anything less comfortable than overheating when you're getting buzzed. Just makes you want to lie down for a nap.

Aspen gets high marks for decor althought it's more trendy and shabby chic rather than outright luxurious. Bar is cool but, doesn't seem to be the main draw. The large, open dining space is inviting. The food sounds good and menu sounded inventive (spin on traditional american) but, fell a little flat. It's wasn't awful, just not fantastic. Our waitress was redheaded and awesome. I would still go back and recommend it althought more as a see and be seen place and less of a culinary experience.

I was recommended to this restaurant, and visited over the weekend with a group of friends from out of town. The interior of the place is really funky and interesting, but that is about as far as it goes. We ordered a bottle 2003 bottle of red wine but the waitress brought out a 2005 bottle. After opening the wine she spilled the wine all over the table and did not bother to clean up, we had to clean the mess ourselves. We ordered the Hanger Steak special (at $34) and after specifically asking for the meat to be prepared medium we received a half rare piece of cold stake. We were also charged bubble for the meal. After complaining about our entire dinning experience the only excuse the waitress could offer was ?I am sorry?! Avoid the food if you can, but do go and enjoy a drink at the bar!

This place is alright. No problem getting in and not very crowed (actually not crowed at all) which can be nice depending what youre looking for. Drinks are verry pricey but staff is nice. Cool atmosphere but I remember not really liking the music. I'd maybe go back again, but only if I didnt have to pay again ha.

I was there this weekend with a group of friends and we could not have had a better time. We were seated promptly, our waitress was not only attentive but also a lot of fun and kept us entertained throughout our dinner experience. The music was awesome (they have a dj spinning) - a little loud, but great! The food was very much like comfort food. You can either order your own entree or order from the tapas menu (which we did).
Overall, we had a great time and will definitely come back. The fire pit is beautiful and makes the space look cozy and elegant.

This Saturday night, 6 of us (a latina, brazilian, asian, and white gal & 2 guys, white boy and korean)... we wait 30min to get to the front of the line only to get pulled aside. In line there were only black people waiting, I'm sure there was some private party, and I should have known we'd get some issues - but never that we'd be pulled out of line and asked to leave. When I phone my buddy inside to tell him they wont let us bec we dont fit the profile, the bouncers got more mad and tried cracking jokes to the rest of the line. Ridiculous. No one laughed. In all my 11 years here in NYC, this is the 1st time I've ever been discriminated against. headed back to the meatpacking district where the door policy was easy going about race. What a paradox.

I had high hopes, the ambience was very nice, and the menu looked great! But beyond that, my hopes were dashed. We were seated for our reservation 1 hour late. After finally being seated, our appetizers didn't arrive for another hour. It is now 11, and we were expecting to eat at 9. No one took drink orders during this hour, so we trapsed back and forth to the bar ourselves for water and wine. The appetizers arrived and half were cold (cold duck, unless it's cheap sparkling wine, is not a good idea). When the entrees arrived, there were substitutions that we were told about when ordering. Getting plain old potatoes when you are paying for pumpkin rissoto is something of a let-down! No apology, just attitude from the waitstaff. The place turns into something of a dance club once it gets late, and since we were seated and served so lousily, we had people bumping into our backs while we were trying to finish our cold duck and potatoes. Lastly, while we had checked our coats at the free dinner check, as it was now midnight, the charge had gone up to $3. Not a big deal, but after the experience it felt like insult to injury to get nickel-and-dimed by these jerks. I will not be returning, and advise others to spend their money on an establishment with a shred of management self-respect.

I went to Aspen a couple of weeks ago, and opened a tab at the bar. The bartenders (one in particular) were extremely rude to anyone ordering a drink. When it came time to close out my bar tab, they would not provide an itemized receipt. It also turned out that there was a 20% service charge added to all credit card tabs. 20% is fine, but the service charge is not printed or disclosed on the receipt anywhere. There's just a blank tip line, and if you didn't know better, most people would add an additional 10-20%. I only knew because I happened to see the computer screen showing the charge, but it's a dishonest practice. Check your bar tab carefully!

I loved the fact that it felt like my favorite part of a ski weekend, the lodge. The decor definately gives you that cozy winter get-a-way feeling. The large 360-degree fireplace, surrounded by seats, made me just want to kick back and enjoy some laughs. Even though we weren't seated there, but next to a window with a very Aspen-like tree outside, we enjoyed the general feel of the atmosphere. I loved, loved, loved the fact that the dining room is spacious. I didn't have to worry about bumping into other tables or diners on the way to our table and I didn't feel like we were sharing our conversation with everyone in the room.

Furthermore, the food was good! We ordered off the tapas style menu for dinner, but I plan to return for happy hour with some friends. We had the bison sliders, the mac and cheese, the fries, and the mashed potato sampler at our table and they were all very satisfying. The fries were traditional, while the others were all an "upgrade" on traditional comfort food. The favorites among our group that night were definately the bison burgers and the mashed potatoes. The various versions of the mashed potatoes definately left us wanting more.

Overall, the service was good, too. We were seated quickly and greeted by a server even more quickly. The food was served in a very timely manner and arrived hot. Our waiter checked on us regularly, but not obtrusively so. I was grateful to be able to share my meal with my companions, not the staff.

Basically, if you only like to go skiing for the lodge, check out Aspen.

Great Saturday night at Aspen!!!
This place is fantastic!! I would definitely recommend it to anyone that enjoys a beautifully designed cosey environment to sit and share great food with friends! The food was fantastic (but maybe a little pricey for some) and the staff are really friendly!! Also the music was great and the place became a full on party after midnight!!! We'll definitely come back!!

This place was trendy and chic like many places in the city, but a 20 something crowd it was not. Try 30 and 40 yr olds.
The food was good, although I had a tiny salad and split a mac-and cheese (which was good) with one of my girlfriends. The drinks were the typical $12-$14 a pop, but my mohjitos were quite good.

I liked the atmosphere and it seems to have a good bar scene for you 30 yr olds, but you don't get much food for what you pay. I went home after and had a sandwhich, and I'm not that a big eater..you get my drift on how little food you can get?

I don't know about this place. Saw a review in the morning on NY1 and once I heard tuna tartare (I'm always on the hunt for the best) and sliders I was there. The decor was really cool, I luved the bonfire, deer heads, painted trees, and frosted glass. We ordered: Butternut Squash Soup (it was really rich but good), tuna tartare (ok but nothing to rave about), Bison Sliders (yummy), Pomegranate & Rosemary Baby Lamb Chops (would have been good but it came out a lil cold, tasted like it was cooked before and than reheated on low in the microwave?), Aspen 3 Cheese Mac (again, ok, would have been better w/out the chorizo), and corn on the cob w/ cheese. I don't know, I wasn't feelin this place, the food was ok but I've had better small plates at pubs and for the price I expected better, everything tasted mass produced and reheated. The waiter was nice but he kept saying everything was 'Delish'...um, ok. the bus boys were on point, but were a little too quick to clear our plates, lol. Don't think I'll come back.

3/10 - was forced to come back on Sat night for a friends bday, it was ok but the drinks were really expensive and there was not really much traffic, kinda blah. still dont want to come back!

Myself and 5 friends went to ASPEN last Saturday night and we had a fantastic time! The food was excellent and the design of this place is very cool without ever being pretentious and the two Dj's who were spinning are in a class of their own!! This place is highly recomended if you want great food to share with friends and a cool bar scene and even dancing (after midnight). The staff are very cool and attentive especially the brazilians!!
Bravo Aspen we'll be back!!!

Visiting from California and read the reviews here - some good, some bad but decided to take a chance. I was with friends i hadn't seen in a long time from all over the country so it was important we have a good time. We had a reservstion at 7 and stayed until midnight - we had so much fun. the food was great albeit small portions but filling enough for us to continue to drink and have dessert and hang out. The music was great and the energy and the staff were so nice (especially Gabi). We met the GM Manuel and he was very sweet and took excellent care of us. I would highly recommend this to friends and come back again.

Cons: portions a little small..

Bar scene was nice, cozy, good waitress service. Outside of their specialty drink, the Guavarita, which is so terrible tasting that I had to send it back, I was looking forward to dinner.
Space is beautiful, but the portions are tiny, and I mean really tiny. The food is average, maybe even good, but you have to order so much of it. We ran up a $300 bill for 4 people and had to get a slice of pizza 2 hours later because we were so hungry.
Nice atmosphere for drinks, avoid for dinner.

It's such a shame that food is horrible here because the space is so beautiful.
Went there with my friend, and we were very excited only until our food arrived.
Let me just make it clear that we are girls of small frame who eat normal portions. Yet we were shocked by how small all the dishes were, and after ordering two appetizers, two entrees, and one side dish, we just decided that we will be better off going somewhere else and share yet another entree. The amount of food served at Aspen was soooo miniscule, and there was nothing special about the dishes either. The bronzini dish was especially disappointing- small piece of tail part...
If food was good, would definitely go back since it's a restaurant with such great decor and ambiance.
Too bad food was just too disappointing...

my friends and i were very excited to go to aspen for my friends birthday. started off great, the waitress told us about an appetizer special that sounded awesome! we all wanted it and asked her to come back in 2 minutes so we could order. 25 minutes later the awful waitress came back and told us there were none left!! This ridiculously awful service went on all night. our wine glasses sat empty most of the night, as we watched the waitress making jokes with a nearby table, even though we all wanted to order more. at one point i even got up to find the waitress and ask for a glass of wine and was told not now!!! she never came back to our table again that night!! very frustrating experience with the worst service i've ever had in NYC. Best part was when we got the bill with 20% gratuity included!!! The food was mediocre. nothing stood out, except the strange plastic animal heads over the bar. HORRIBLE!!!

Went for dinner & stayed for the nightlife. Best time we have had out in manhattan in a long time. The food was awesome -- reasonable size dished made for sharing --- very well prepared and presented. The restaurant morphed into a raging nightclub by 10 pm. Music and dancing was fantastic. Loved the fire pit in the center and the rustic modern feel. Some of the best looking people in the city. The service was superb. You have to try it.

After seeing a lot of press about Aspen, I made a reservation for a Thursday at 8. I arrived to a nice bar crowd with most of the dining room filled for dinner. We all ordered one drink from the bar where the array of wines was extensive. We were seated within 10 minutes and food was at our table shortly afterwards. The staff was really friendly and helped us select 12 dishes for 3 people - a perfect amount.

We really enjoyed the bison sliders, trout tacos, lamb chops and mussels. The sliders are made of bison meat, which I never had before - really cool! The trout tacos were fantastic as were the lamb chops. The mussels were spicy and they give bread to dip into the sauce. All the food turned out really nice.

We were probably done with dinner around 930/10ish and the entire place started filling up with a late night party. Not sure if it was private or just a crowd was coming in, but the crowd was a good looking late 20's/early 30's crowd. We ended up opening another tab, and sticking around for more drinks for the late night crowd. The music and the crowd were both fantastic.

Overall, I think this place is a great dinner and late night spot. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys great food in a exciting and fun environment. I would return or go again if anyone suggested this spot.

Went to Aspen for the first time last night. Overall the food was tasty except for two of the appetizers. I am so offended at the fact that I paid $13 of ONE scallop! I love good food and am willing to pay for it, but that is just ridiculous. The same goes for the quarter-sized crabcake. The other items we ordered were much more proportionate to their price. When I commented to the waitress, she just shrugged her shoulders and said "tapas" as if small plates somehow means suckering and cheating customers. But the restaurant will probably be gone by next summer so a boycott isn't even necessary.

We just had a great NYE dinner at Aspen. As soon as you walk in you feel like you are stepping out of NY (except for all the usual beautiful people and bartenders often found at the trendy NYC eateries). The staff was attentive and helpful with suggestions. The portions yes small (hello that is why it says small plates) were perfect for sharing and each one was better than the rest...though feel free to not order the chicken lollipops...not bad but certainly not the best. We had great drinks, loved the food & dessert (choc cake a must) and really a fantastic NYE there. The fireplace adds a little something special and the boths are very cozy for a group. I will definately be back for drinks at the bar.

What a waste of $141.22! We had 3 small plates of food two Ketel Martinins ($14 each and they were spilled all over the place as the waiter brought them over, two Bacardi Diet Cokes ($11 each) and a 20% gratuity was added.
To have a place with this kind of decor and atmosphere they do food auctioning at the table, "...Who had the chicken? Ok, who ordered the Bison?) You use a computer system use seat numbers and teach your staff. If I'm paying those prices you better know who ordered what. It's not difficult.
I ordered chicken lollipops I asked the waiter if I could get them with out scallions, he said it's just a little bit you can push them aside. Ok, now I'm the sous chef. The lollipops come out and the chicken is wrapped around a scallion stalk!!
AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF...!!!! The owner and his wife and his friends sit in the main dining room and SMOKE!!!! Who do they think they are? Amy Sacco?
Don't waste your time or your money. This place is a joke.
I guess they want to bank on the fame of using the lame Marquee and Butter desingers.

This is one of those places where everyone at the table moans after every bite - there's nothing on the menu that isn't just delicious. But having been there twice now, we've been very disappointed by the service. Each time, we had a very hard time getting the attention of our waiter - for drinks, for questions, even for the bill - and each time there were only a few other tables! Last night, our entrees came out before the appetizers and then our side dishes came out as stand-alone dishes - when I asked the waiter about it, he was aggrivated that I brought it up and had an attitude for the rest of the night. I've recommended this place a lot based on the food, but the problems with service are enough for me to hesitate before I send anyone else there.

Went to ASPEN last weekend for dinner with a small group of friends. We could not have been happier. The service was very attentive, the food was divine, different and delicious, and the drinks were made with exceptional care and experience arriving at the table perfect every time. The music was an eclectic mix of tunes that instantaneously erased the worries of a long work week and set the stages for a true night out with friends! The crowd was very clean and free of trash so in sum I STRONGLY recommend ASPEN! It seems that this new addition to the flat iron has a great thing going!

Planned a bday dinner for my friend here after reading reviews and receiving a recommendation.

First off, the decor of this restaurant is lush and gorgeous and you truly feel like you are at a top notch ski lodge...

Secondly, the service was great... upon realizing it was my friend's birthday, the waiter brought us a round of complimentary shots and put a candle in my friend's dessert:)

Third, the DJ played a great eclectic mix of tunes.

Finally, the food was also great! My 2 friends and I each ordered 2 small plates and we all split a side and that was PERFECT... we left full but not sickeningly stuffed... highly recommend the polenta fries and the lamb chops!

Will DEFINITELY be back!

after a boring week, went with girlfriends to this chelsea restaurant with a buzz so loud we felt we just had to see what it was about..

Contrary to most hot spots, it has not become too B&T which is great, drinks good, bartenders are nice, a few are good too look at (both male n female), food is great fo sharing, also since its late night, the place really picks up on thursday nights.. we stayed until the wee hours, having a blast, the dj was phenom.

Pros: Good looking people, the door is selevctive so no idiots, but not to the point of exclusion..

Cons: the bathrooms are down stairs, and after a few drinks, its a little challenging not falling..

.

Great waitress service....the busboy could have slowed down a bit. Sometimes it felt like a drive by when he serviced our table. The restaurant is really a nice space and the food is delicious. I was just hoping for a little more excitement. We went on a Thursday night around 9:00pm and the place was quiet. I guess it is more late, late night...

I went with my girlfriend to celebrate my birthday on April 25. We arrived at Aspen because of their reputation on Citysearch, and we both concur the reputation is well deserved. Right from the moment we walked in (late for our reservation, I might add). We were welcomed to our seat quickly and our waiter rapidly retrieved our drink orders. You really cannot order a bad drink at this bar... Once the food arrived, we swore we were in heaven. The portions are unusually small, but they don't compromise on quality. The Tuna Tartar, Bison Sliders, Lamb Chops, and their Lobster/lamb/kobe beef burritos were all phenominal. In the end, we left overwhelmindly satisfied, and didn't feel bad leaving a 30% tip. This place is far out of the ordinary... RUN to Aspen!

Cons: VERY Expensive, Boring Atmosphere

Aspen is a really cute place, the front half of the place is a bar, so you can sit, mingle and have drinks. Towards the back is the dining area. btwn the 5 of us we had 9 dishes which was barely enough. The tapas plates are really small and I was still hungry by the time we finished off the last plate but after the food settled in my stomach i was full. All the dishes we had were pretty good: the steak poivre, the bison burger, the striped bass, asaparagus, mashed potato sampler, chicken lollipop, and the duck quesadilla. if i had to pick the top 2, i'd go with the quesadilla and bison burger. this place makes u feel like u eat a lot, but u really dont. If u have a big appetite u might want to go somewhere else, or just order a lot more.

Aspen has it all - great ambience, fabulous dj, eclectic wine list, beautiful barnwood bar, and great dining room with awesome central fireplace. I had a birthday for 21 people there and everything went like clockwork. Food came speedily (I had preordered the six courses and wine) and was individually plated beautifully - the presentation couldn't be better. The manager, Carl, is really going to go places in the restaurant industry should he so choose. He met me for wine tasting/sampling of food the week before and made sure that the service was on their toes. Kevin, who helped via email to plan the party was so buttoned-up and quick to respond. The waitstaff was very attentive, professional and the food was not just pretty but delicious. We drank there until 2am, no bottles. Literally Aspen made my birthday. I'm going back again as soon as possible.
