Vanilla Sky manicure $18 (reg $25) Peppermint Pedi pedicure $30 (reg $45) Vanilla Sky/Peppermint Pedi combo for $45 (Nail Sale Exclusive) We have even included San Francisco?s favorite pedicure, the Moji-Toe, for $45! (reg $60). This sale ends on 4/30/09, but see our website for details on how you can receive these prices indefinitely by making us your regular nail salon.
Went to this spa when on a visit from London, and compared to the spas in Europe, this one was amazing! The service was superb, the staff are friendly and professional, and the facilities were beautiful. I LOVE the way the facials are customized, and far from being a holistic, wishy washy spa, they really care about giving great treatments that work - thorough massages, excellent nail services and the rainforest room body treatments are out of this world. My husband and I will definitely be coming back again on our next trip! Try it for yourself!
Pros: Staff, treatments, feebies

The spa is truly great, the staff is professional, skilled, and helpful. I have visited tru spa several times, and I always go back for more. Even for just simple everyday meintenance features, like waxing, manicures and pedicures, it is a great place to escape to. Highly recomend it.

Forget about those fru fru spas where you feel as if you are in someone's townhouse, and you can hear everything that goes on in the next room. This place is beautiful and they clearly know what they are doing. Everything seems to run like clockwork, everyone is super friendly, the massages kick butt, and they even have parking! Exactly what a spa should be and what San Francisco has desperately needed!

Everytime I have gone to another spa-it reminds me of how great this place is.
The staff is attentive-professional and extremely skilled.
Incredible ambiance-front desk-from the moment you enter-you know you are taken care of.
It's just great!
Pros: everything

There are few words I can use to desribe my experience at Tru Spa. I have had lots of facials, but nothing compares to the oxygen facial that Tru Spa delivers. I had Angela, who was absolutely wonderful, both her personality, skill, and knowledge. The oxygen facial had an amazing effect on my skin. I can't wait to go back for my next one and see if the progress continues. The spa is beautiful, everyone is friendly, and they even bring you champagne! Give Angela a try, you won't be disappointed. I am a TRU convert!
Pros: nice waiting area
Posted 06/05/04
the front desk was super friendly, the waiting room was super small, no steam or sauna, very nice massage person but not any better than you can get anywhere else for a lot less and i had a paridoxially great pedicure (can't remember her name) in an uncomfortable foot bath. the experience was okay overall for a one time visit but i'd rather check out the plethora of other spas in the city.
Pros: friendly, clean
Cons: , over priced

who would of thought to use oatmeal as a scrub, feels soo good but also a little messy. smells great, i loved the milk vanilla soak. i didn't think too much of the hand massage but when ann did the massage i had to sit back and close my eyes. the way ann did my french manicure, different but it looked amazing when done. ask for ann, you won't be disappointed with her
Pros: smell, parking, great staff

I think this SPA has ruined me for all others. From the time I stepped inside clean facility, professional staff, courteous (non-stuffy) nice waiting room with Champagne, Fresh Fruits & cheeses DE-LISH!! Atmosphere was laid back, quiet never heard another soul in the place outside of my room I was cold... they turned the heat in the room up. I can't speak for the parking since I walked from my hotel. In fact if you are staying in another location, like I was (SPA is in Holiday Inn) I recommend still checking out this location. Personal Locker for your items, I noticed that the staff came in on the regular to collect robes & towels. There was ample products to purchase but no pressure from lobby staff. It is on the expensive side but I think it is in line with the rest of the downtown.
Pros: No sales pressure, Nice Waiting Area, Easy to locate

Having read all the glowing reviews here, I was prepared to like the spa...and I wasn't disappointed. From the moment hubby and I walked in, we felt serene and relaxed. The spa is elegant, sleek, and peaceful. No detail is too small, with the waterfall sinks, double-headed showers, wide magazine selection (all current), snacks, and heated massage tables. They also validate the first 4 hours of parking! As for my treatment (the "Full Monty"), it was heavenly. My therapist was knowledgeable and responsive to my requests...I felt very taken care of and was able to momentarily step out of my usual roles of wife and mom. Now that I've been to Tru, I don't think I could go to any other spa in SF!
Pros: Beautiful environment, Great treatments, Validated parking

The best spa in SF by far! Angela is awesome! She has a strategy for my skin and after only two visits I have never looked better. The massages are also amazing, and everyone is super-friendly. Can't wait to try the nail services and watch Sex in the city and sip champagne while I get my toes done!
Pros: Everything!

I went to Tru Spa for my birthday and had the best time ever! From the minute I walked in the door, the staff were friendly and attentive, to the moment I left, laden with fab Ole Henriksen products! My facial with Janell was by far the best I've ever had, and my massage with Rhonda was 'hands down' the best in SF! Loved the champagne, fluffy robes and being looked after from start to finish! I'm going back for Valentines with my boyfriend for their amazing couples treatment in the Rainforest Room and I can't wait! Best spa in SF!
Pros: friendly staff, professionalism, treatments
Posted 03/27/04
My entire experience at Tru was absolutely fantastic. It's like a hidden treasure in the middle of the financial district. When you walk into the spa you come into the locker rooms where a waterfall sink and comfy couches await. You get fresh fluffy robes and slippers and anything and everything you can think of that you would need to beautify yourself ( hair straighteners, hair products, skin products, etc.) I was most impressed with all the fruit & cheese plates that you can help yourself to. I was also impressed by their "methods" of making you feel welcomed -- I noticed all therapists put their hand on your back as they lead you into your room. The massage was the best I've had! i will definitely be back to spend a day to enjoy all the facilities.
Pros: 7 day opening, nice lounge, food & champagne
Posted 03/24/04
This spa is the BEST in SF by miles! I've been a customer since they opened and they just get better by the minute. I love the way they really take care of you, the staff are AMAZING and the treatments are really something. I love the facials - they really do a thorough cleanse, and the flat screen personal TV's in the nail lounge are an excellent idea. The managers take the bookings so you really get personal attention - you have to try it! A great experience EVERY time!!!!
Pros: amazing staff, great treatments, gorgeous spa
Posted 03/16/04
I am a fan of Tru Spa and have been a few times now and the staff have always been great! I have had amazing massages there, which was why I am disappointed with my visit last week . I was greeted by a male therapist who seemed nice enough, but having rather high expectations of this spa from previous experiences there, I felt the massage was mediocre and certainly not worth $125. I'm not usually one to complain about bad service and maybe this was just a one-time thing?? I hope so...

I had heard a lot about this place being "Bliss West", so as a spa junkie who has been to Bliss in New York a few times I thought I would check it out. I was expecting a cheap rip-off, but I was pleasantly surprised. It turns out the owners were high level Bliss executives who left to open Tru. There are a lot of similarities to be sure, but Tru definitely has its own style. Most importantly, though, Tru has the innovative treatments, as well as the "coolness" that Bliss has, but is not the factory that Bliss has become. You get genuine personal attention at every step (the owner answers the phone when you call to book an appointment, where else does that happen!?). If you liked Bliss, or have been lamenting the lack of a world class urban spa in SF, you will LOVE Tru.
Pros: therapists skill, attention to details

Splitting time between SF and LA, I used to think that there were no decent spas in SF. After my first visit to Tru, it is the LA spas that shrink by comparison. Finally a spa that combines vision, forward thinking services, and luxury. But don't be fooled by the cool surroundings, the facial was the best I have ever had. The massage itself was also great (as it should be) and all of the little details before, after, and during the massage made it a superb experience. There are plenty of spas in this town for my grandmother, now there is one for the rest of us! Thank you thank you thank you!

After reading the reviews I booked for me & my best friend to have a day at the spa. We had the Moji-toe pedicure which was SO cooool, you can watch DVD's whilst your service is done AND you get a free champagne drink which we both loved. (More next time please!) We had rainforest treatments - the room is awesome and really rains, and the super deluxe About Face facial (divine!) The spa is gorgeous, the staff are friendly and happy, and I am going back soon with my boyfriend for his birthday. (We saw lots of guys having treatments too - the spa is unisex, but keeps the men's waiting area separate (they get free beer!!) which is really cool.) I love it!
Pros: locker rooms, rainforest room, friendly staff
Posted 02/20/04
This spa is by FAR the best in SF! I have now been 3 times and told all my friends, family & co-workers to go! If you want a spa where people are professional (even when they are busy they are super friendly and take the time to make sure you are ok) and the treatments are terrific then this is the place for you. It's cool, modern and unpretentious; the treatments work, and all the extras are well worth the visit! Yes, you can sometimes be booked with a guy for a massage if you don't specifically request a female therapist, but all the guys seem to be really nice and make you feel comfortable. I LOVE this spa and am looking forward to my next visit. Don't bother going anywhere else!!!!!
Pros: superb massage, beautiful surrounding, great management
Cons: , none, none

Wow!!! My friend bought me a gift certificate for a facial at Tru Spa and let me tell you that was a fantastic gift. Jill, the facialist, was so knowledgeable and the About Face facial was incredibly pampering while also being customized specifically for my skin type. I felt like I had gone on vacation! Afterwards my skin looked dewy, smooth and clean. Jill made me feel so comfortable and the amazing front desk staff educated me on prosucts without pressuring me to buy anything, which was appreciated. Now this is my new monthly ritual. And my skin continues to glow
Pros: peaceful, relaxing, pampering

I am extremely disappointed by Truspa. For all the hype, it is very overrated. For a great spa . . . go to Burke Williams down in L.A. instead. Here are my specific disappoinments with Truspa:
First of all, I made an appointment for a female masseuse. When I arrived at the spa, I was unpleasantly surprised to find a male masseur waiting for me. The appointment desk switched masseurs on me w/o letting me know.
Second, the spa was very crowded. It was not very relaxing.
Third, the staff didn't seem to know what they were doing. Yet, they acted very arrogantly toward their clientele. I was nice about the masseur switchup. However, there were two other clients who were upset about various mix-ups while I was there. E.g., another client who got a male masseur instead of a request female masseuse.
Cons: , Bad Location, Incompetent staff
Posted 02/13/04
Very good massage. Usually see Jill, but had to go one time when she wasn't working and found that Naja is also excellent. Very surprised, most places don't have any consistency. Don't know if the others are good, but I would definitely recommend these two. Don't bother with the "75", if you can afford the extra $25 go for the Therapy. Way better.

Tru is by far the best spa on the West coast, if not in the entire U.S. It makes Bliss in NY look like the YMCA. Everyone at Tru is so nice, knowledgeable and helpful. The treatments are amazing and a good value for a city-based day spa. Few spas are quiet and relaxing with people mingling, going in and out. Tru is able to minimize the traffic so that all its clients feel calm and relaxed. I highly recommend it to both women and men. Instead of shopping on your lunch hour, get a massage here!!!!

I had a facial and was disappointed that the esthetician squeezed my face instead of using an extraction tool. The next day, due to the squeesing, parts of my face were irritated and crusted over. Not what I was expecting for $120+!
The ambiance was nice, but I was not keen on the up-sell of additional products...
Pros: Ambiance, Location, Products
Cons: Tiny waiting room, Not good value, Too frantic

I went to Tru Spa for the first time a couple of weeks ago and it was out of this world. I was treated like a princess, the champagne, the robes, the music.....and of course the massage was the best I have ever had, the massages are longer than usual and the pressure was just right! The girls name was laila, if you are ever there ask for her she was amazing! They certainly have won me :-) I can't wait to go back!

You have to try the Mojito Pedicure (served with a delicious mojito-I had two! Housekeeping is so attentive there)
Delina gives and awesome massage-perfect shaping-and she was even patient when I couldn't make up my mind about nail color. I love the parafin wax they use and all the pampering is amazing. The Vanilla Sky is terrific-I love the milk and cinnamon hand soak.
Kathryn is the best waxer EVER! I hate brazilians-do it because I have to, but it is realy painless-and she talked the whole time-I didn't even realize it was over! She is awesome. Plus-gave me great advice to take some motrin or a few advils and there would be very little soreness/pain. She is skilled and professional. An most of all-getting a painless brazilian is priceless!
I am so happy with my services!
Pros: delina-great mani-ped, Kathryn-wax! great!, everything
Cons: This is the BEST SPA
Posted 12/18/03
Best Massge I have had in SF. Jill is amazing. 75 minutes is the perfect amount of time. So glad someone figured out that "hour" massages trimmed to 50 minutes aren't long enought to get relaxed. The light/aromatherapy is well worth the price of admission. Cool place, lots of pampering. Perfect for afterwork from the financial district. Can't wait to go back!!!
Posted 12/13/03
Loved the treatments-the rainforest room is the best! Like nothing else I have done before and I am a spa junkie.
Tried the Jungle Love & Pulp Fiction treatments to date..and both equally amazing. My skin has never felt so smooth.
I have also had the facials here and the massage. They are really THE BEST IN SF! I love that the massages are 75 & 105 minutes (I hate being rushed off at other places at 55 minutes when you pay for an hour)
They are so wonderful!
Pros: best treatments in SF, Hip-clean-spa, have the best product
Cons: need more time off, from work to spend, more time there
Posted 12/11/03
Not only is the staff skilled-(you must see Jen-a perfectionist!)
I had the About Face-great massage-great extractions-alert & she paid attention-it was so relaxing while being thorough. She did two passes with microderm-I got a hydrating mask and some needed home care advice.
What also really makes it an exceptional spa is the managment staff. Their attention to detail is seen in everything from the champagne & brownies-to the professionalism in the staff and the friendly front desk.
This is not my first time going there-and it won't be my last!
Posted 12/10/03
A friend told me about this place so I went there for a facial. Best one I have ever had. Jennifer is the BEST. Waxing is quick, painless, and thorough. Even Jennifer's brazilian was better than the other places in town that seem to specialize only in brazilians. The whole place just has a great vibe. Definitely lives up to the hype!
Pros: validated parking
Cons: what took so long?
Posted 12/05/03
I am so pleasently surprised with my treatments there! Not only am I going back-I have scheduled appointments with my sister.
Great facial-had the Tru O2-it left my face feeling so great (I have had facial before-my skin is sensitive-and this was terrific!)
I also indulged in the 75 minute massage-again-so relaxing-she had to peel me off the table!
I love it I love it-I love it!!!
I love the lounge-great brownies-water-plush robes...
I love the front desk-personable-knowledgable-sweet...
I love the massuse & estetician...
I am very happy with the whole experience.
Pros: treatments, lounge, staff
Cons: ???nothing, it has great hours, and parking too!

I heard that the people here were from Bliss in NY, so I had pretty high expectations, but WOW! To my surprise, this place is way better than Bliss. The space is amazing, but the best part is the service, which is really personal and attentive. Everyone was superfriendly. The oxygen facial was by far the best I have ever had. (if you are looking for a spa in SF that actually spends time on extractions, this is it). The two massages I have had are easily the best I have had in SF. Can't wait to try the rainforest room! Overall, it just seems like every detail was well thought out. The facial and massage prices are pretty reasonable considering how long the treatments are. It's about time SF had a spa like this.
Posted 12/02/03
Everything was great about the spa; they even serve you some champagne.. the only thing that I didn't like about it was the price.. it is defintely on the pricier side, but once in a while, they have promotions. I tried the Tru02 facial and it was pretty nice.
Oh yeah, they don't have a jacuzzi or steam room... and you can park at the Holiday Inn hotel for $5 flat fee with validation
Pros: champagne, staff, choice of treatments
Cons: price , parking?, reservation
Posted 11/03/03
If you are planning on getting something waxed, Kimyatta is the ONE! She gives the BEST Brazillian bikini wax, and her technique is excellent!
I've had my legs waxed before, and her Brazillian hurt less. I would never go to anyone else again.
She also gives a killer facial! :)
On top of that, she has a great personality! TRU definitely found a GEM in Kimyatta!
Pros: Great Atmosphere, Great Staff/Excellent, Open Late
Cons: No jacuzzi/steamroom, A bit expensive
Posted 10/29/03
I'm a man who is shy about my feet and hands, and when my wife booked me an appointment i didn't want to show up, but if i didn't i would still have to pay so i went. The nail technicians made me feel so comfortable. I watched friends I had a glass of champagne, I had this great smelling warm neck cover. I'm coming back
Pros: great smell, beautiful nail techs, very quiet
Posted 10/23/03
I ran a marathon a week ago and promised myself something nice to treat my body if I finished. I decided a treatment at a day spa for a massage and manicure/pedicure would be my treat. Tru offered a great discount for 1st timers, and the staff made me feel like a king! Wonderful skills in making my whole day by the staff and the atmosphere was perfect for relaxing.
I will be back to treat myself again.
Pros: staff skills, friendly staff, atmosphere
Cons: none
Posted 10/17/03
I will definitley be back to TRU. What a terrific spa experience. The facial by Janelle was hands down the best facial ever. I had the Tru02 facial. The oxygen really felt incredible and helped calm my skin. My skin is usually marked and blotchy after a facial, but not today. My skin was glowing and hydrated. Not only was the facial terrific, but I had an excellent pedicure while watching sex and the city reruns! The brownies and champagne just put the experience over the top!
Pros: friendly service, facials, pedicures
Cons: no steam or sauna
Posted 10/15/03
I am converted. I have been to a lot of other places in SF. This is hands down the best spa I have been to yet. Got the "About Face"-great microderm-peel-mask-parafin hands-massage-thorough cleansing. It is worth it. It includes all those things other spas charge you extra for. I also splurged and got the TruTherapy 105 massage. Not only was it a little more than 105 minutes-not only was it completely relaxing-he worked every tense inch of my tense spots, not only was it incredible -IT'S ALSO 40%OFF!!!(my 1st visit) I will definately be back-and I highly recommend it!
Posted 09/16/03
I have been to Tru many times before-It is THE BEST SPA IN SF. It truly is! But I have never tried the rainforest room till yesterday. I had the "Jungle Love" trestment. Real coconut sugar scrub-shea butter massage-fruit enzyme mask-steam-rainfall then a water fall! My skin has never felt better. If was completely relaxing-totally indulgent and absolutely worth it.
BTW- the whole spa is great. From the front desk-professional and personable-to their housekeeping-attentive-champagne-flip flops & a plush robe-to the technicians (Kimayatta-Jen-Paul-Tina & Jeremy-The BEST!)-everything is a TRU-ly great experience
Pros: The Best Spa in SF
Cons: absolutely nothing
Posted 09/15/03
I can't say enough good things about this place!
Craig is terrific! He sets the tone for a wonderful experience. Kimayatta gives THE best wax ever. I am a pain-wuss and I swear-the brazillian-NOT PAINFUL. Her eyebrow shaping is also fantastic. Her personality combined with her skill is really exceptional.
Tina is spectacular on nails. She is a perfectionist-and does an impeccable job.
Don't go anywhere else-you'd just be wasting your money.
Pros: highly skilled staff, great place-decor, attentive extradetail
Cons: nothing, nothing, nothing
Posted 09/13/03
I had the Tru105 massage with Paul. I love the fact that they don't do 55minute massages like everywhere else.
When you walk in you realize it's not like everywhere else. I was handed slippers-offered champange and water. The waiting room was filled with fruit, cheese, crackers & brownies.
(it's the thoughtfulness in everything they do that I appreciate..what sets them apart)
NO hippie incense smell or annoying fountain noise.
What I really appreciated was the lack of other noise. You couldn't hear other treatments going on, other people talking, the front desk answering other calls. (Have you been to "Therapia"...that's all you hear)
The massage itself was great. He was focused, attentive, payed attention to sore spots.
Pros: deep tissue, aligned my spine, added stretching
Cons: nothing
Posted 08/27/03
I was in a couple Sunday's ago and received an excellent facial and great pedicure. I felt so relaxed and my skin felt cleansed and refreshed afterward. Exactly what I needed and was looking for! Staff members were polite and helpful, definitely recommended! Thanks Tru!
Pros: Good results, Good products
Cons: A little pricey
Posted 08/15/03
I've been searching around the city for a great Brazilian wax and I've finally found it at Tru... Kimyatta is excellent! She's knows her stuff when it comes to techniques and products plus she's friendly and hilariously funny! I gotta say, I didn't feel a thing...it was painless and effortless!
Pros: Friendly staff, Great atmosphere

I have had massages all over San Francisco and this was by far the best.I got the tru therapy relxing massage. I am surprised people would choose another spa. The truth is there is nothing like tru anywhere in the city. If you are a man you will get a great massage. If you are a women you can hang out, eat chocolate and get a great facial and then a glass of champagne to end your spa experience.
My wife said she will never go anywhere else!
Pros: decor, services
Cons: none yet
Posted 07/11/03
I don't think there is another spa in San Francisco that can offer the same service that I have recieved at Tru. I have gone all over the city, and I have to say by far Tru is the best. The TruO2 facial and TruTherapy massage are unbelievable. I left the service feeling like I was outside of my body. Almost like I was floating. I can't capture with words how happy and satisifed I am with my experience.
Pros: Parking, Great Staff, Inviting
Posted 07/07/03
I have been to literally over 80 spas world wide and thought that I had seen it all until I walked into Tru Spa in San Francisco. Nothing compares to this place in its design or service. If you are a spa regular in the San Fran area dont wait, make your appointment now because you wont be able to get in there as soon as the word gets out!
Harvey, Boca Raton, Florida.
Pros: Convenient, Easy parking, unsurpassed service
Posted 07/03/03
Beautiful modern space, friendly service great location. Higly recommend this spa!!
Pros: space, rooms, service
Cons: parking
Posted 07/03/03
The staff at this gorgeous new spa are very friendly and extremely talented at what they do. I had come in for a TruTherapy massage and a TruO2 facial and was blown away. The massage was deep muscle and I felt fabulous afterwards. The color light therapy during the massage was such a wonderful addition!
The facial was focused on deep cleansing and rejuvenation with the help of oxygen and a deeply relaxing massage. By far, the best facial I have ever had.
Looks like I have a new place to get my facials and massages! I highly reccommend this spa.
Pros: skilled, friendly, validated parking
Posted 07/03/03
I can't rave enough about the fabulous facials at Tru Spa. Not only is the spa the most beautiful and elegant setting, but my facial was the most relaxing and therapeutic treatment I've ever had. Every detail was taken into consideration. My skin has never felt or looked this good. The expert esthetician I had customized the facial for my specific skin issues and also helped me with my product purchases without being pushing. They carry all of the best, hard to find product lines as well.
I'm going back next week for a massage, which I have heard is unbelievable.
The location is unusual (borders Chinatown and the Financial District) but it actually works to their benefit. The parking is great (right in the building) and it was so convenient.
My advise is to try Tru Spa. They are doing something right!
Pros: Great Facials, Beautiful Setting, Friendly Staff
Posted 07/02/03
Ths spa is beautiful and modern, matched by the friendliness and professional service of the staff. This is the kind of place I have been looking for! Great location, and the facials are fabulous. I left my treatment with glowing skin (their Tru 02 facial is the best!), groovy products, and a re-booking with three of my friends. Go see!
Pros: great parking, good products, beautiful space
Cons: none yet!
