Great place to meet and eat. Farmers market for people watching and shopping. The gourmet market offers a wide assortment of items - you wont be disappointed with any of them. The "food court" offers many desert options.

Great place.
Take a seat at the bar and look at what's happening around you on the Farmers Market or for a more intimate seating take a table in the alcove.
Good selection of wine, even those that go by the glass.
Food is good and consistent quality.
Heavy but SO good is the cheese fondue, especially in the winter !
Their pate and cheese platter with a nice glass of wine makes for an excellent lunch or appetizer.
Staff is friendly and fast.
As for the market... they have it all.
Not cheap, but worth the money.
Great French cheese selection, my favourite Brie de Meaux makes me come back for more.

When I lived walking distance from the farmer's market, I tried to come here in leiu of the grocery store as often as possible. What I like about Marcel is their selection of cheeses- You can get really yummy swiss and crumbled gorgonzola! A little pricey, but worth it in my opinion.

Best condiment selection in town

This place has everything. Olives in barrels, dozens of spices and spice mixes, cheese, wine, and a small selection of normal market goods (like crackers and soft drinks). Small, but well organized. Great selection of flavored mayos, mustards, vinegars, and such.
Pros: Selection and convenience
Cons: Not for normal grocery shopping

Fabulous Market for the Discerning Shopper

This is the "MUST" shop market in all of LA -- fabulous selection of wines with highly knowledgeable oenologist from France. His unfailing wine picks are always the talk at my events. And the in-house cheese master is equally adept at selecting just the right cheese for the discerning palate! The selection, price and ambience of this darling market make HIGH marks on my list!

the best gourmet market in LA , love the cheese selection , a lot of imported condiment olive oil , mustard, spices etc..... the wine room is a must see with wine from all over the world.
