My husband and I ate at a place called Los Pinos Monday of last week. It was absolutely fantastic. I had the steak and avocado burrito that melted in my mouth. He had a combination of sorts that was equally wonderful.
Upon mentioning this to his friend, the friend insisted we try this great place in Commerce City, "El Jardin".
I was sooo disappointed. I actually made it a point to write a bad review when I got a chance. So I get online today to write my reviews and to my disbelief you were ranked number one on City Search last year! What happened?
The service was awful, my empty glass of iced tea sat on the edge of the table 90% of the time, was finally refilled by another waitress after I had to flag my own server down to ask for one.
Atleast seven employees (2 bussboys, 4 waitresses, and I assume the owner (your picture is hanging in he entry way) all walked by, some more that others and glanced at the empty glass a few times but didn't ask or offer a refill.
No one asked how the meal was, but the owner/manager was awfully busy with some obvious regulars gossiping about the events of the previous Friday night.
Now to the worst part. I was shocked to see the prices, $13.99 for the burrito, no rice, no beans, no cheese. Extra $1.69 for lettuce and tomatoes, plus $1.69 for rice, and again $1.69 for beans. When did you actually start getting away with charging for what used to be included (and in most restaurants still is) in a decent meal. That's the price of a steak dinner! Atleast I'd get the steak and not the grizzly dried up pieces of jerky I received in a tortilla covered with green chile.
Understandably, if you want a decent meal, you have to pay a fair price. Maybe you should go to Los Pinos and try their steak and avocado burrito.
