Message from The Priory Hotel

The Priory is Pittsburgh's only European-style hotel
  • Wireless internet service
  • Fitness room
  • Business center

Once a Benedictine monastery, The Priory has been lovingly reconceived as a 24-room boutique hotel. Located within easy walking distance of downtown Pittsburgh, the Warhol Museum, PNC Park and many other attractions, The Priory combines the personal service of a small hotel with many modern amenities, including wireless internet service, a fitness room and a business center. The Priory also offers complimentary evening beverages and complimentary hearty continental breakfast; parking is also free. However, the best aspect of The Priory (the number one ranked hotel in Pittsburgh by the Fifth Edition of the Zagat Survey of United States Hotels, Resorts & Spas) is the tranquility of its spaces: Sip wine by the fire in the sitting room in the winter or relax with a book in the verdant courtyard in the summer.

Unique, Friendly and Interesting 5 Star Rating - World class

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our one-night stay at The Priory Hotel. We welcomed the invitation to tour the three floors of the former Benedictine monastery with its tastefully decorated European-style decor We enjoyed the complimentary snacks and wine offered in the evening and we were impressed with how clean, comfortable and well-maintained the hotel is. Our room was CLEAN, comfortable, and nicely decorated. The courteous, friendly and helpful staff provided information freely when we needed directions to restaurants and area points of interest. As history buffs and classical music lovers, we enjoyed the softly-playing music as we sat in the Priory's lovely dining room eating breakfast. I wonder how it was when The Priory was a Benedictine monastery? We'll stay at The Priory Hotel next time we're in the area.

A City Retreat with Style 5 Star Rating - World class

My wife and I visited Pittsburgh to see family and to enjoy the new vibrant life that has been spoken of in travel magazines. The Priory was booked on the internet sight unseen. It is a little hard to find yet more than worth the effort. The hotel is of another era but the service is current with knowledgeable staff and and atmosphere that is seldom equaled. The hotel echoes the city and its comeback. The city and hotel bear a visit for those who enjoy food, wine, arts, sports, museums, and the zoo to only mention a few. We shall be returning this next summer to continue our exploration.

Pros: The staff is excellent and the rooms are period but with modern amenities.
Cons: A bit off the mainstreet but that makes it quieter.

A Delightful Place to Stay in Pittsburgh 5 Star Rating - World class

I love the antique furniture, the staff are responsive and courteous--the food fabulous...it's a lovely place to stay if you want to be near most everything in Pittsburgh and you want something that isn't like a cookie cutter hotel. I highly recommend it!!

Taste of Europe in Pittsburgh 5 Star Rating - World class

My wife and I recently stayed at The Priory for a weekend getaway. The room was very comfortable, and service was very friendly. The hotel is very close to a lot of what we wanted to see -- Warhold Museum, Aviary, etc. Parking is free, which in the city is a plus. We really liked it!

Pros: Evening wine, Great breakfast, Friendly service

City Respite 5 Star Rating - World class

I recently put up some business clients at The Priory, and had a chance to meet and talk with them at the facility and to see the rooms. The hotel is beautiful, with many interesting architectural details. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. My clients were able to use the fitness room and business center, which you would not expect at an historic hotel. I plan to make a weekend trip with my wife to The Priory soon.

Pros: Free Parking, Close to Downtown, Excellent breakfast
