In Short
Founded in Tennessee, this barbecue chain is the blues version of a big-city Hard Rock Cafe. Walls are lined with posters and memorabilia of musicians like Bessie Smith and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Ribs are the specialty of the house and come dry, wet or sweet. Pulled pork and fried catfish are complemented by the deep-fried onion ring loaf.

Red Hot & Blue has great food but a bit pricey.

by Kathryn P. | insider Insider | Rank: 18,381

Food is awesome! But a bit pricey. We only go here occassionally because of the cost but the food is worth it. The atmosphere is very casual and the wait staff are also attentive. Great family place.

Good BBQ

by Steve S. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,698

This is a little drive from Denton, TX but somewhat worth it. Where I grew up, BBQ was pretty much mandatory on Sundays and at funerals. The BBQ here reminded me of back home. Yes, the sandwich has cole slaw on it and it's pretty good. While non a "fine dining" establishment, the food is excellent and the service is decent. The place seems a little cluttered with trash at times. The parking lot is adequate. The entrance to the building is kind of odd, but who cares, just let me in and get me a BBQ Sandwich!

Update

We visited this restaurant once again in mid February 2009 and got their just on a whim about 20 minutes before they closed. I pleaded with my wife to go somewhere else because I think it's rude to the employees to go in their while they are getting ready to close up and go home and order something. She said that's just what they do and they will have no problem. Well, she was right. The manager promptly greeted us like there was no hurry whatsoever along with the waitress who was very courteous, polite and real. Thumbs up guys and gals!

BBQ

by Tommy C. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 390

I think they started in Atlanta Georgia. BBQ in Texas is different. This is kind of a sweet BBQ, Meat was cooked great. Slice beef was the best. However Be careful they put coleslaw on a sliced beef sandwich. The side were above average. I will go back..Hold the Slaw..

Can't beat it in Texas!

by Daddypip

Seated right away, no wait. Service was friendly and food was fantastic. Anyone from the southeast will love the pulled pork, and the brisket was very tender. Music was a little loud but wasn?t blaring. All-in-all a very nice night out for my family

by corcaigh073

We have visited Red,Hot and Blue a few times in Flower Mound. The food is always enjoyable. The restaurant is family friendly.
I have tried ribs at various restaurants around the country, even though this may not be the best, it's a worth a visit...

The food and the atmosphere rock!

by lt20

You can't beat the food at this place - if you've had Memphis style bbq, you'll know what I mean - if you haven't you need to check it out. Can't go wrong with the ribs or pulled pork. The sides are KILLER!!! Great music too. We do to-go from here at least once a week.

Best Memphis BBQ in Texas

by moneymakkerr

Being from Memphis, I know great BBQ and this place is the real deal. Try the Delta Double with pulled pig and dry rub ribs, you'll think you died and went to Graceland. Love the blues music too.

Pros: Food, Service, Curbside takeout
