The Healthy Taco Stand--Authentic Classics and Vegetarian Alternatives
  • Vegetarian-Friendly
  • Reputation for Quality
  • Unmatched Salsa Variety

Hugo's Taco's recipes are derived from a collection of taste memories that cross the border into Mexico and back again, brought to us by our Chef Nabor Diaz. These are recipes that were handed down from generation to generation and learned by Chef Diaz as he watched his mother work in her own kitchen. In Chef Diaz's hands, the entire Hugo's Tacos menu combines an authentic lineage with a distinctly Hugo's touch. With five different fillings to complete 16 different dishes, and multiple salsas and marinades made fresh daily to accommodate every palate, you can mix and match flavors to create a multitude of tastes. We think the result is uncomplicated, yet still complex, just what you'd expect from us. We're the kind of place that even kids can feel good about bringing their parents to.

Tacos Tacos  4 Star Rating - Very good

If you are looking for great tacos and you're in a hurry, go to Hugo's Tacos. The parking is a little tough and it's on a busy street but the food is fantastic and worth going to.

Convenient and fast  4 Star Rating - Very good

Whenever I'm in the valley lkooking for a quick lunch, I find my way to Hugo's Tacos. It's right off the 101 and they make some killer burritos. Their salsas are terrific.

mmmmm  4 Star Rating - Very good

Hugos has some of the best tacos around. The people are fast, fun and friendly and totally every dime. Only downside is the fact that it's located on a ridiculously busy street, so the noise is kinda obnoxious. However, Hugos may be the only tacos worth the sound of LA traffic.

Unique 4 Star Rating - Very good

This is a pretty good place. I tend to get the nachos with honey chipotle salsa. The only thing that is kinda weird is that they put their taquitos on top of beans. Seriously, who does that? By the time you get it home they're soggy.

Pros: Fast, easy parking
Cons: None

Gastro-intestinal Nightmare!!!!! 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

Not sure what the attraction is...I alwasy see the place busy and thought I'd try it. I was very disappointed; the food was cold by the time I got it home (I live about 5 minutes away - tops), the tacos were tiny and there was very little meat. The torta was inexplicably covered in salsa on the outside and the bread was cold as if it had not been warmed or toasted. Worse still is waking up at 1:30am violently ill due to the food. I don't recommend it al all. if you are looking for authentic tacos, you're better off checking the taco truck list and driving the East LA.

Pros: convenient
Cons: food is cold and made me ill

Health conscious great mexican food for anytime of day 5 Star Rating - World class

I wake up craving these tacos every single day of my life. Don't go there expecting tacos from mexico or even casa vega, cause unlike those tacos these actually don't make you feel sick after eating them. Not only are the tacos good they have great brritos and the salad is unbelieveable. So what if there's a line, some things are worth waiting for.
love,
an always happy customer

I don't get the popularity! 2 Star Rating - Wouldn't recommend

I kept hearing this place had great tacos so I decided to try it. Parking was difficult, there was a line and the prices were high for what you get.

I was shocked to find there was only ground beef, not shredded. The meat had a nice flavor, but all the negatives (price, parking, a line, limited menu) didn't make it someplace I'd go back to or recommend.

Pros: ????
Cons: Price, parking and limited menu
