Authentic German Cuisine
  • German Bakery
  • Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
  • Sunday Brunch

The Basket Bakery originally began as a wholesale bakery with a small additional luncheon room, operated by the Frieses, a German couple. As the bakery's customers grew, so did the popularity of Hilde's extraordinary cooking. Now in its third location, The Village Corner German Restaurant includes a traditional style German tavern, a European bakery and a café style dining room that serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. A traditional German menu contains potato pancakes, Black Forest ham and Weiner Schnitzel among other selections. Our artistic and decorative bakery cakes are worthy of any special occasion. In addition The Village Corner boasts a wonderful banquet room that facilitates weddings, receptions, rehearsal dinners, parties and much more.

Amazing food, amazing people.  5 Star Rating - World class

Having lived in Europe, I was genuinely very pleased with the quality of the Village Corner. The food may be a bit pricey for some, but it's well worth every cent, as it's AMAZING. I was ecstatic to find such authentic and delicious food offered in the area. The service is very personal and you're often waited on by the owners and greeted in German. There's also a bakery attached on the side so you can take home some wonderful treats or enjoy a homemade desert while there. I'm always looking for a reason to dine at the Village Corner...and highly recommend the Jaegerschnitzel.

Sehr Gut 5 Star Rating - World class

This is the best German food I had since I left Germany many years ago. The prices are reasonable and the food delicilous. The desserts are to die for. The building is quaint and the service great. I have never had a bad dish.

Pros: The food is phenomenal.
Cons: It is a little hard to find.

SURPRISINGLY GREAT FOOD! 4 Star Rating - Very good

I don't understand the bad reviews-we went here last weekend and had an incredible meal where EVERY SINGLE THING was delicious. I've had plenty of mediocre brunches in this town, so I wasn't expecting much, but we were so happy to have such a great experience.

I got the potato pancakes with smoked salmon, and they were delightfully crunchy, and also came with the traditional sour cream and applesauce (which tasted homemade and had cranberries in it-YUM!)

My husband's sausage platter was so tasty that I kept asking for bites, and my daughter had an apple pancake that was packed with green apple slices and came with real freshly whipped cream and some of the best bacon I've ever had.

The bread was wholesome and fresh and the service was friendly.

This is a new fave and I am bringing out of town guests this weekend. A treat!

Pros: great food
Cons: none

Good beer selection and pretty good food 3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

Nice selection of beer that changes from time to time, friendly bartenders, quiet and NO SMOKING inside. Okay for kids - well behaved customers. I would appreciate some additional Americanized snacks, they don't quite get the right formula for nachos, but the snitzel-waggen-furter-fruten German stuff is good. Nice atmosphere, but I would like to have a lock on the men's room door. Surprise?

Pros: Beer Selection, indoor and outdoor seating, No Smoking allowed inside, good breakfast
Cons: Servings are large, more snacks would help

worst service ever 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

I am very unhappy with my experience at this hell kitchen! Chef ramsey would love it! The prices were totally over proced and claus and hilde were so rude! It is just a FAKE world and would NEVER EVER go there agin! so save your money and time and go somewhere honest and fair. DO not eat that food you will get SICK! Thats a promise. The I team was there last year if that tells you anything!

Pros: nothing
Cons: uncomfortable,costs to much,disgusting food

Much less than expected. 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

Hello, my fiance and i are knew to georgia. we visited this restaurant with some of our neighbors two weekends ago only to find an overall bad experience with a very upsetting credit card bill two weeks later. we had been charged gratuity twice because we left a tip without knowing that it was already included for only 5 people dining. hoping to find an oktoberfest celebration, we instead found rude service (10 minutes to be greeted at our dirty table), stale bread as an appetizer and a dishonest server who did not mention the added gratuity to our food and beverage check. we obviously do not plan to return. i hate to leave negative feedback but this experience was awful. we're from southern california and so far the "southern hospitality" we heard so much about isn't what we expected at all.

Pros: lots of parking in a nearly empty lot
Cons: too many to mention. it was a disaster all the way around.
