This is one of the most beautiful bars in the world--huge arched mirrors, marble and brass bar, statuary, an amazing ceiling. That said, and proving that you can spend five million dollars on a restoration and still get yahoos for

Yes, the decor is cool. And certainly, the drinks are big. Given the price, I guess I was expecting something higher in quality rather than just quantity. This is no comment on the restaurant but only on the bar, since I've only been for drinks. Certainly worth checking out at least once for the overall vibe, but as a bar qua bar I found it a bit disappointing given its "Best Martini Menu" reputation - and its price. To its credit, the room demands fanciness, and while it is not "jacket required," there is a "no hat or t-shirt" dress-code which helps keep the old fashioned atmosphere intact.

Pros: atmosphere

Cons: wincingly expensive

Met up with friends here for my birthday and it was pretty much what we expected. Nice atmosphere - older crowd - great live music - overly priced beverages. As long as you know what you're in for, you'll have a good night here.

This place exemplifies class. the chairs are extremely nice and plush. You can definitely bring a date here and have a nice martini. Note, the prices are extremely expensive, but you are paying for the experience

When you walk into the Oak Room, you feel like you've walked into the 40's. It's a total throwbsck with the wood paneled walls, ceiling fans, and waiters in vests. It's always fun to take someone who has never been. And while the martinis are expensive ($17), the decanter they give you has enough for two drinks. It's a great place to go to feel like a high roller, even if you're not.

An elegant decor of dark-wood paneling, 30-foot-high ceilings, lush red drapery and fleur-de-lis emblems await crowds of young to middle-aged professionals, both local and guests of the hotel. Evenings, the backdrop is…
