Colorado Wine Company is a wine bar and store that offers wine for everyone. You can buy a bottle or stay and have a glass in our bar. It's a lot like your living room, but we're pouring. Open since 2005, Colorado Wine Company pours wine from all over the world and proves that good wine doesn't have to break your budget. We have weekly wine-tasting events on Friday Evenings, 5:30-8:30pm, and Sunday, 1-4pm. Come sip and talk in a living room setting with no TVs.

The funnest place to taste wine that I know of.
There are structured fine flight tasting on Friday and Sunday.

The Colorado Wine Company offers the best selection of value priced wines in area (probably out of the area too).
Come enjoy this wonderful place, taste great wines and fine amazing values.

This is my favorite wine tasting spot bar none. The post-modern lounge where the tastings are held is comfortable and slightly darkened as if beckoning a David Lynchian crowd. My favorite time to visit is Sunday afternoon when tastings are $10 for a full flight of 4 or 5 wines, accompanied by Auntie Em's munchies (cheeses, bread, fruit, nuts, the whole she-bang). Of course, if a bigger gathering is your thing, then come on Friday or Saturday evenings when the locals come out in force. Street parking is easy.
You can find gems of affordable reach (under $10) or upper scale selections of distinguished merit. It's all there, just bring your tongue and relax. I have brought friends and they love the place. I have gone stag and met new pals. It is an oasis where learning and lounging co-mingle in celebration of wine. Cheers!
PROS: great wines, nice owners, down-to-earth crowd, good food, hip lounge
CONS: none

Okay it is close to home for me and it is conveniently located on Colorado Blvd. but even if I lived further away I would still make the drive. The shop is small compared to the crowd of regulars so the events and tastings can be cozy. The owners, John and Jen, are both great and very helpful. If you are looking for a quick bottle as a gift or housewarming they are sure to suggest something that will make you look like an all star. Check out their wine for a week 4 packs too. Click on the website link above to sign up for their bi-weekly newsletter or to check out upcoming events.

This sweet little wine shop just opened last spring and is already enjoying tremendous success-- even though, at this posting, there signage out front is still limited to a small placard. I stumbled into this place by accident-- What? A wine bar? Here? Lemme see... and what a lovely surprise it turned out to be. The owners are more than buffs, but less snotty than afficianados. They just love wine and want to share their love of it with the local community. They seem almost excited when given a challenge (pair something with THIS! A-ha!) They have a tasting bar in back, weekly themed tastings and the art the rotate on their walls is evocative and trippy-- and for sale (they support local artists by exhibiting their wares). Go. Enjoy. See you there.

Good folks, good wine

Down to earth vibe. The folks who run it are not pretentious and appear to have a love for what they're doing. The wine selection is 'focused' (not huge) and includes good deals mostly under $20. The selection includes non-CA wines (Spain, France, etc.). Within CA they tend to stay away from the more expensive and the more over-hyped appellations.
I don't live nearby, but try to get up there when I can.
PROS: People, Value
CONS: Not for picking up a special Bordeux

Colorado WIne Company- Best in LA
by Bozena C.
We love this neighborhood wine store! We also love the owners who can recommend any wine for any craving for under $25. We have been very pleasantly suprised by the variety and quality of their wines - they even have wine tastings twice a week to sample some of their products. The shop is modern and funky- best we've tried!
PROS: Inexpensive wonderful wine
CONS: Can get crowded during tastings

The Best, Most Down-to-Earth Wine Store in the Universe!!!
by pjacques123
Every Wednesday and Friday you'll find us here. Wednesdays are no corkage and George will keep your glass filled, Fridays get a little crazy but are always a blast. You can do a tasting of 5 wines (usually 2 whites and 3 reds for $15) or just go with the heavy pour by-the-glass. The wines they find are truly inspired, inexpensive and delicious. The cool thing is you can bring home a bottle or even a case of that crazy good Malbec you tried for the first time without mortgaging your future. This is just the best, most comfortable wine store/bar in the known world that is Eagle Rock and all points beyond!
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing (OK, maybe the air conditioner could be beefed up a little when it gets crowded)

Hidden Gem

Aside from the wonderful selection of affordable wines in the store, Colorado Wine offers an intimate bar and art scene much needed in Eagle Rock. It's lovely to walk in and sip on a glass of wine on a Sunday afternoon.
Pros: Everything!
Cons: More seating required for those busy nights

A great store
by conradgreen
A godsend to have such a good wine store on your doortep. the staff really knwo their stuff, and though the selection is relatively small they pick out a lot of gems and rotate enough to keep even the most regular customer surprised. A fantastic place to get wine and share your enjoyment of it with other enthusiasts.

Won't be a well-kept-secret for long
by margaret_ferris
My husband and I have been in many times since CWC opened. It is such a great shop. As long time Eagle Rock citizans, we are so happy that such a great store has opened on Colorado Blvd. Not only do they have great wines at super prices, the owners are warm and helpful, full of information about wine. The store has a great feel to it. I'm a design buff, and I really enjoy their space.
One of the best things at CWC is the "Week of Wine." The owners select four wines, two reds and two whites usually, that are great values, are interesing and are full of flavor. All in a handy carrier.
Two thumbs up, way up!
(BTW, there is a small amount of parking in back, for those who are parking challenged or don't like to walk.)
Pros: Great customr service, Great wine choices, Wine of the Week
Cons: Limited selection

A blessed addition to the growing retail scene in Eagle Rock, or anywhere for that matter, the Colorado Wine Co has excellent value and excellent wines. Knowlegdable and non intimidating, it is the first time I've ever experienced an inviting, low key wine establishment with a neighborhood feel. It is unique and wonderful. A MUST TO CHECK OUT!!!!!!
Pros: Excellent service, Excellent products, Relaxed atmosphere
Cons: Parking difficult, Sign Hard to see
