Mangieri's Pizza is the BEST pizza in Austin. I've been going to them for years and they consistently offer original, delicious food. The Fuego Blanco is a personal favorite. The service is always excellent as well. Everyone I know tries them once and stay loyal customers forever. Love me some Mangieri's!

About a month ago my wife and I went here for dinner for the first time. We go out to eat about 4 times a week so we know what good and bad service is like. The entire experience from the minute we walked in the door to the minute we left was sensational. The food was amazing and we even had some left over Calzone to enjoy the next day. More than anything the way we were treated is what will make regulars out of us. Our waiter was incredibly attentive and we never had to ask for anything because he was always one step ahead. He helped us make smart menu selections based off of our likes and dislikes. We were so impressed by our experience that we pulled the manager aside on our way out just to let her know that she would be seeing us often! Thanks Morgan's Deals for introducing us to this fantastic place in South Austin! From management to servers to the food...everything is worth the money you spend. We won't be wasting our money any where else!

My daughter and I ate there on Thursday (Dec. 2) and ordered a medium Mary Ann's which we loved. The alfredo sauce on the whole wheat crust tasted fantastic. Not only is the food great but so is the service! Although they were fairly busy our food came out promptly. Another thing I noticed that you don't see all the time is the attention each table received. The manager went to check on every table in the restaurant. Very cool! She seemed to know a few tables personally. My daughter decided to try the tiramisu for the first time and didn't care for it. The manager noticed she wasn't eating it and offered a replacement dessert that she might like better. She went with something she knew she liked and got the cheesecake which she loved! A plus for me because I got to eat her tiramisu which was delicious. We are so happy to have this place close to home and as new comers to the area will definitely makes this place a regular dinner choice.

Our family has been ordering pizza from Mangieri's every week since they opened. They ALWAYS get our order correct, are friendly and have DELICIOUS pizza. The whole wheat crust is great---doesn't have the cardboard texture other places have. The classico & margherita are household favorites in this house.

My husband and I go to Mangieri's for pizza once or twice a month (usually twice). We almost always dine in and are continually amazed at the customer service we receive. I look at the 'kids' behind the counter and think, ""now why can't all places be like this?"" They smile and greet you when you walk in the door; they are nice to you when you order; they offer suggestions; they bring your pizza to you promptly; and they offer to get you drink refills, silverware, or whatever else you need. And when you leave, they say, ""thank you for coming."" I'd be impressed with any restaurant that did this, but it gives me extra ""warm-fuzzies"" to know that most of these kids are still in high school.\r
\r
We also love their pizza -- the Supremo, the Capo, and the Veggie Bistro being our three favorites. We occassionally get their pizza of the week, but usually stick to one of those three pizzas. We love that they offer whole wheat and gluten-free crusts, even if we don't order them. I love their sauce and the various toppings they have.\r
\r
And on the few days when Austin's weather cooperates, we enjoy being able to sit outside. We've even brought our dog with us to the patio on the Spring.\r
\r
All in all, this is our favorite pizza place in Austin. And I love that it's locally owned. I'm excited for them to move in to their bigger and better location down the building soon. That will give even more outdoor seating - and it will be covered!

Mangieri's is magnificent for many reasons, but I am especially eager to support this establishment because the owners are a hip young beautiful couple and the kind of entrepreneurs Austin needs! Tony and Piper are incredibly kind, dedicated to their community and strive to serve Mangieri's customers on the highest level every day of the week. The Sicilian Pizza is my favorite; along with the Bruschetta, Greek Salad and a Bellini!

Been coming here since it opened and have changed my eating habits over the years to healthier selections. Mangieri's goes above and beyond to help out. They have whole wheat crust, gluten free, always fresh ingredients...nothing but the best. And if you want something different ...just ask. I have been coming since day one and have never asked for anthing where they have not gone out of their way to help.....try that in other places and good luck. The new Mangieri's in Lakeway continues their legacy... I love this place!

It was fairly expensive, but well worth treating my family to a couple of awesome pizzas. They were made fresh to order. There was no premade crusts ""hanging"" from the walls. And there was no grease on our pizzas either. The fine toppings and fresh crust made for 2 of the best pizzas I've had in Austin.

We live in Lakeway and were excited to see a new restaurant in town. We are very picky about our pizza and go to a small pizza shop in town. At Mangieri's we had a pizza, salad, and tea. The service was slow, the sauce is too sweet, and the thin crust is not thin. Sorry a playscape doesn't do it for me. For the expense, I would rather make the pizza myself and enjoy a nice bottle of wine at home.

Delivery pizza this good? Is it possible?

Yes. It is.

Was told my delivery time would be 45 minutes to an hour. My pie showed up in about 30 (whoa! That's even better than your usual chain pizza deliveries!) -- piping hot and a delight for pretty much all the senses -- opened the box lid, and what a beautiful pie!Just looking at it was a treat. Waited for it to cool a bit (hate those burned-roof-of-the-mouth experiences), and then dove in. The wheat crust is really good -- excellent thin chewy texture, which is superb in a wheat crust. The veggie toppings are fresh, delish and gorgeous -- a Greek cornacopia of olives, onions, and artichoke hearts. Just the right amount of sauce and cheese -- no feeling of being cheated there. I loved the pie cuts -- not a traditional wheel cut or double cut, but puzzle-piece cut -- makes the experience fun and less traditional than pulling off the usual messy triangle of cheese, dough and spill-over ingredients. Taste: delish. Kept going back for ""just one"" more. Ingredients: eye-catching and tasty. Drawbacks: they could go just a pinch heavier on the toppings without sacrificing weight or moisture on the crust ... also, for a veggie topped pie, it turned out to be a bit on the greasy side (glistening, pooling top), which I can't quite figure out.I understand that's going to happen with just about any baked cheese topping, but it was a little weird considering there were no traditionally greasy meat toppings like pepperoni or sausage in the mix. Also, even though the delivery included packets of parmesan and crushed red pepper (always a plus in my book -- hate it when a pizza shows up and there's no parm or pep, so, good job, delivery people!) -- the pie overall could have used just a pinch more sea salt overall. Just a little more saltiness, that's all -- then it would be absolute perfection. Rarely have I gotten a delivery pizza that stood out this much and this well.

Will definitely order again ... overall great pie ... great flavor ... great service ... so happy to have such good 'za so close by. And within delivery range3!!!

My husband and I had to go out to Lakeway with our two kids and were searching for somewhere to eat where we could ALL be happy. We had heard Mangieri's had just opened up off of Lohman's Crossing. We pulled up to the parking lot and were glad to see a play-scape off of a covered patio. We knew that didn't always mean good food or good service. Well, we were wrong. We sat out on the patio and were able to sit and watch our kids play and have a nice glass of wine while we waited for our food. We each had a nice salad and a bite of our kid's pizza, which was a nice thin crust. We will definitely be going back and I will be telling more moms about this place so we are not stuck eating fries and cheeseburgers all summer!

The pizza was greasy!! The pastas were bland, too. They service was fine, but the food isn't so great. They only have like two or three outside tables...and there not the best tables thats for sure. The interior is ""over the top"" and tiny. Mangieri's thinks its better than it actually is.

Unfortunately, I'm disappointed with Mangeri's food. Their pizzas, which evidently are the cornerstone of their menu, are subpar. The crust is burned at the ends, and their toppings are dripping with grease. Other non-pizza items on the menu, such as their alfredo fettucine pasta, is also extremely greasy and lacks flavor. Compared to other neighboring restaurants such as Natural Planet Grill, their prices are overpriced and their food is not good. Their restaurant is not warm and inviting - the walls are extremely dark an d all that their employees do is deliver our meals and leave. Hopefully, Mangeri's fixes up their low quality food in due time.

Have had a calzone and the Stromboli, love the dough and they are large! The only thing I have a complaint with is they need to have a ""special"" or something as I like onions, green peppers, pepperoni etc and there is no way I am paying extra for each ingrediant so what starts at about 7 dollars ends up about 11-12--that is too much. Can get a special at other places, where they do charge a bit more, but honestly, one is not using more ingrediants, just less of each. Other than that I would probably eat there more often.

I have to say that the food was good but the service was great. My husband and I went one night and decided to share a pizza. I hate olives...he loves them so we decided to get them on only half the pizza. Well they got it wrong which was no big deal but they went above and beyond my expectations. They gave us the pizza that they messed up for free plus made us a brand new one plus a glass of wine and a pint of beer on them. Totally surpassed my expectations. It would be nice if every place would treat their customers like this. I would recommend mangieri's to everyone!

Mangieri's has become my favorite restaraunt in Austin! Just walking in you can tell there is something special about this place. The friendly servers and upscale decor definitely make it two steps above the average pizza joint. I have tasted nearly everything on the menu and it is all fantastic! Their salads are fresh, their sandwiches and subs are heavenly, and their pizza and pasta can't be beat. Mangieri's has something for everyone...including great vegitarian options! Their pizzas are inventive and delicious, but you can also build your own pizza with premium toppings. The pizza crust tastes homemade and has the perfect crunch to it, the toppings are fresh tasting, and the price is just right. It is definitely eveything I could ask for in a restaraunt, and they are opening one closer to me in Lakeway!!!!

My family travels to Austin frequently and are always looking for great new places to eat. Boy have we found it in Mangieri's!!! This restaraunt is something Austin has needed for a very long time... great atmosphere, great prices, great staff, and GREAT FOOD!! We went with a big group of people so we tried a little bit of everything. The Mary Ann's was by far my favorite! Who could go wrong with alfredo, grilled chicken, bacon, fresh spinach, and mushrooms! The Anthony's and Margherita pizzas were to die for as well. Everything tasted so light and fresh, and I loved their whole wheat crust! It was so good we went back the next day for lunch and had some amazing salads and subs. Mangieri's Pizza Cafe will definately be a must everytime we travel to Austin!!

I love pizza, and love trying out new pizza when I travel. On a recent trip to Austin I stopped by Mangieri's. I was blown away by the fresh taste of the pizza in this joint. I ordered pep., bacon, white sauce, and extra cheese. This pizza was very good, and the crust was just right. If you live in Austin, chances are you have already a customer, but if you are visiting... stopping here is a must. Great for lunch or dinner. The atmosphere is a lot more upscale than the typical pizza place.

Poor quality pizza. They roll out their crusts ahead of time and let them sit out at room temperature up to FOUR HOURS! I noticed the crusts were sitting out on wall-mounted holders... requested a fresh crust, they SAID they would do this. However the cook just took one of the ""OLD"" crusts down from the wall and made our pizza with it. When the pie came to our table I told the server I had noticed the cook DID NOT make a fresh crust as per our request, asked for a new pizza to be made with FRESH crust. They finally did so after some argument with the ""owner""???\r
They also use a ""conveyor oven"", which produce a lousy pizza crust. If they claim to to be a ""gourmet"" pizza place... why do they use a chain drive conveyor oven? Those are the ovens that the big delivery chains use to get out a fast pizza! The problem is that the pizza cooks for the same amount of time, whether it's a single topping or one that is loaded with toppings. \r
The meat toppings are ""run of the mill', with soy fillers and MSG, you can taste them in! MSG makes my mouth go numb! So I know what I am talking about. \r
There are other places in Austin with much better pizza.

You will just love the warm welcome that greets you when visit Mangieri's! Each vist feels like your coming home among friends to enjoy a great meal. We totally enjoy all the fresh vegatables and the whole grain crust pizza. The sausage sandwich is just to die for, with wonderful amounts of cheese and on the best bread ever. We have to stop and have dinner there each time we visit Austin. Can't wait to see what the new location will be like. Great service, great food, and great atmosphere!

I have been reading the reviews being written and noticed two that really slammed this restaurant. It is obvious that the writer of both are the same, maybe someone who has it in for Mangieri's for one reason or another, because it is obvious that this person did not tell the truth. The Pizza, Calzones, greek salads, are by far amoung the best in the city. The service is great, all the way from the management down. These people care about your experience. Everyone I have taken to Mangieri's or recommended to go, has done nothing but rave about the quality of food and service. Highly recommended ....but don't believe me, go see for yourself....

Pros: Food and the Customer Service. They care about your experience.

I had been hearing about Mangieri's for over a year, but since it is out of my beaten path, I hadn't been yet. Wow, I won't make that mistake again!!! It was incredible. From the moment I parked, I felt at home - and then I walked in the front door and knew I was. The staff greated me at the door with big smiles and eager to meet me every need. The Atmosphere was warm, cozy and inviting. I was there for a business lunch and could easily carry on a confersation with out everyone in the place hearing me. And then the pizza and salad came. For a moment I literally thought I had died and gone to food heaven. It was hot, fresh and literally brought tears of joy and fullfillment to my eyes. I will be back again and can't wait for Lakeway location to open as I am near there weekly. Mangieri's will be a weekly (at least) experience for me from now on. I love you guys...

Pros: Ambience, Parking, Service, everything about the place

Cons: Not close enough to me...

The only thing I have had here is the Italian Beef sandwich. Born and raised in Chicago, from the cradle we are trained to enjoy Italian Beef sandwiches and Mangieri's is as good as it gets! They didn't have fries to go with it but supposedly they will at the new location in Lakeway ..... I'll just have to wait for them to open there.

Pros: GREAT Italian Beef!

This pizza was truly one of the most unenjoyable I have had. The crust tasted like it had been a little fried first and had very little flavor, and expecting a hot, gooey mess of toppings on my specialty pizza dripping with cheese, it was just a pile of what seemed like canned toppings that was luke warm. Had to send that one back. I ordered a Greek Salad that was average. I will not be returning to this restaurant again which is a dissapointment because we expected so much based on the reviews here. The good things though were the casual atmosphere, ordering first before seating, and the friendly servers. The decor was elegant and chic for a deli type resturant, but a little tired looking and dark. Not sure what all the hype is about this place and won't be returning. We'll keep searching for that great pizza place in Austin. This isn't it.

We found Mangieri's via a referral of a client and are in love with everything about it. We are there a minimum of once a week if not more. The pizza crust is amazing and like no other in town. They have a variety of specialty pizzas in addition to the traditional ones (my fav. is the Supremo add feta)! Their pasta dishes are so good you'll want to climb into the bowl - I can't get enough of the Chicken Alfredo and it comes with garlic cheese bread - YUMl! Caesar and Greek salads are wonderful and they have a very nice selection of adult beverages at very reasonable prices. Speaking of which, you can't beat their lunch specials either. The service is spot on every time and the entire staff never misses a beat. The friendly staff only adds to an already unbeatable experience. This is a place you WILL fall in love with.

the pizza here is very good! Lots of fresh wonderful toppings. Many "specialty" pizzas -- both traditional as well as some eclectic combos!

The crowd here was quite large and the seating was cramped, but it was well worth it!

I just moved to South Austin, and Mangieri's is my second favorite pizza spot, second, of course, to Home Slice. Their crust is great, and all the toppings are interesting and delicious. I simply love their Stomboli (try it with alfredo sauce). This place is great!

Pros: Great pizza, great location, fast delivery.

I have eaten here many times and never gotten one thing I wouldn't order again. I love the sandwiches, the bread is great. I will always get the italian with peppers and creamy italian when I make a pizza trip. I have had all the salads, which are always made with fresh vegetables. Above all, the pizza is wonderful! Fresh, homemade crust. The ingredients are fresh and varied. I love the feta cheese, olives, tons of vegetables, cream cheese, and lean meat options. The man that said this was bad pizza-from Chicago-when did Mangieri's claim to be Chicago style? That is a completely different animal. They don't gave 4 "" thick pie pans filled with a 2"" crust and so much sauce and toppings on your plate you have to use a fork and spoon. They didn't say they were Chicago style, and they're not. I am glad-I want fresh, light, cheesy, crunchy crusted pizza. I don't want a pile of sauce and cheese that makes me feel like a huge whale. I think there are plenty of people from new England and New York that would strongly disagree with your ""I know pizza"" comment. I get mine with wheat crust, feta cheese, chicken and spinach. If you want more sauce get some on the side or ask for extra. They are a very accommodating establishment.

I have eaten at all the pizza joints in town, and Mangieri's is the best. The crust is perfect, and it doesn't leave a heavy feeling in your stomach. They don't overdo it with the sauce, and they use the highest quality of meats and cheeses. The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff is friendly and helpful.

Great pizza! Others in our group loved the salads, sandwiches and the lasagna. The staff was very courteous and helpful. All in all, a great experience and a great value. A great place to either enjoy a good meal with friends or to have a quality dinner with a spouse or a date. Now if they would just open one up North...

I love the food at Mangieri's. It is a hidden gem in SW Austin. We first went there on a lazy Sunday afternoon and had the Lasagna and thought ""wow"" this is really good. Since then, have tried other pastas, the sandwiches and, of course, the pizza. The pizza's are great. We love their whole wheat crust. We have not been disappointed with anything on their menu. If you are nearby, you need to visit them. You'll go back also.

This may not be the best pizza in all of Austin, but it's definitely the best in the SW area, and ranks up there with Reale's, Home Slice, etc. The Classico (grilled chicken, roma tomatoes, basil and garlic) on whole-wheat is stunning. And the dining room is gorgeous! But it's small and has instantly become popular with Circle C families, so if you show up right at 6:30 or 7, there's going to be a wait and some noisiness. If you can wait until 8 or so, it's a lovely place to take a date or chill with a glass of wine and a book.

I love Mangieri's Pizza. I agree with many of the other reviewers who say that this is definitley not American Pizza. This is gormet pizza for sure. I love the herbs and crunch of their crust. The Margarita and Copa pizzas are my favorite. \r

Hands down this is the best pizza I've ever tasted.

Pros: Great neighborhood eatery, excellent pizza,

Cons: salads average

We tried them for the first time and loved the Baked Italian Sandwich, but weren't at all crazy about the pizza. It had a lot of herbs and seasonings baked into the crust I think, which made it more like a zesty Italian pizza bread. I would not get the pizza again. I come from Chicago and know good pizza! I would; however, eat their sandwhichs again.

The pizza is good, but if you crave American style pizza - this is not it. It is more italian, like what you would get in Rome. Which makes for a great crust. Great chicken caesar salad too. The delivery is lacking. Considering I live less than a mile from their location the average delivery time after 7p.m. is an hour or so. There aren't many lights along the walk over so we usually will drive after dark to pick up.

By far the best pizza around! I've become a regular at the restaurant and can't get enough of the pizza and breadsticks. Walk in and recieve a warm greeting, order your food (as long as there isn't a wait) and enjoy. It's as simple as that. The service is great, everyone is friendly especially one server in particular (Annalisa sp?) who always has a smile, upbeat convo and never fails to remember my name and drink order. If you eat at the restaurant often they will know it. You will go home satisfied with your overall meal experience.

I had lunch at Mangieri's yesterday. After two bites the staff asked how it was. I said, with tears in my eyes (almost), it was the best pizza I had put in my mouth in decades! (About 5 decades, I reckon.) That's how pizza used to taste before fast foods loused it up. Great job!

I am surprised to see two slams on my favorite Austin pizza place. Not to mention two slams that are so out of left field. I have had the great experience of seeing the Mangieri's in action behind the counters (of which anyone can peek into - promise you wont see bottles of dressings, frozen pizza, or cans of tomato) and happen to know that they are committed to the freshest ingredients around. I am not living in Austin anymore, but every time I come to town I am sure to stop by Mangieri's. It is hands down the best pizza in Austin and I have begged the Mangieri's to make a satellite restaurant in my town. Best of luck with Lakeway - I know you guys will do great!
