Whitelaw Hotel

When we arrived we were told it would be better to valet our car than pay for parking, so we did. The lobby at night looked like a dive bar with very seedy customers mulling around. I didn't even feel comfortable unloading the luggage from the car (yes, there's a valet, but no bellman). People were loitering on the patio and so myself or my fiance stayed by the car the entire time while thug-like guests commented on our "cool car" and "cool luggage" Once we got into the room it was really cool looking, but we wanted to get out and look around South Beach. Unfortunately, the safe wasn't working and no one downstairs spoke English to tell us how to work it, so I was worried the entire time that we were out that my laptop and other valuables would be stolen. We checked out first thing in the morning and moved to another hotel.
