i moved to philadelphia two years ago and only found travis five months ago. first stylist that could do a great cut AND great color. such a find. i had been to two other salons very close to thalia and felt frustrated every month - sometimes good color, sometimes good cut but never both good. not only is travis very talented but he's fun to visit and laugh with - makes the time fly, and i feel so great when i leave looking the way i want to look :).

I have been meaning to write this review for over a month now - I visited Salon Thalia on October 24th and got a cut from Travis.

My hair looks excellent - every time I blowdry it, I'm surprised by how well the cut has kept up (including the side-swept bangs, which Travis volunteered to trim between cuts for free).

Travis is an enormously talented, professional, and attentive stylist. He is very passionate about his work and about performing exceptional service for his clients.

The layers he cut fell beautifully on that day and continue to look perfect despite my less-than-perfect blow-drying abilities.

I also had fun while at Salon Thalia - Travis taught me lots about my hair (and hair in general) and we chatted as if we had known each other for years.

I decided to try Salon Thalia after moving into the city, based on my gf's recommendation. As a newbee to the salon, I was slightly unsure what to expect. But Travis met and went beyond my expectations. He gave me probably the best haircut of my life. He is very well trained and extremely personable. I well definitely be returning to this salon, and recommending Travis to many of my friends.

I've been a client of Alissa's for several years and followed her from Toppers to Salon Thalia. I will follow her wherever she goes! She's a doll, number one. Always sweet, always makes me feel like an old friend coming to greet me (granted an old friend who's going to rip a bunch of hair off me!) and her technique is very clean and relatively painless. I just won't go to anyone else. I'll go hairy before I stray from Alissa. Also, her facials are sublime! My skin never looks as good as it does after a visit to her. Like the new salon a lot too, a much nicer place to see my favorite girl than outdated Toppers.

Had a facial here a few weeks ago with Allison? I can't remember her name which is terrible but it started with an A. I was waiting to post a review til some time had passed cos with me facials tend to "do their magic" a few weeks later. Well, my skin is noticeably improved. I started using a new regimen she had prescribed for me at home which seems to be helping also. This was my first time here at thalia so I can't say anything for the salon part but the facial area was like a hidden gem. I had no idea they even had this part of the salon, you wouldn't be able to tell just from walking by. Its a whole seperate area with curtains and a relaxing atmosephere. I don't get facials often but when I do I will be back here. 5 stars!

Had a facial with Alissa on Saturday as part of a promotion (it was half off). Best facial I've had in years. it was really busy in the salon when I came in so I was worried that it wouldn't be relaxing in the room but I was wrong. She put me at ease right away and the whole facal was so relaxing, I almost fell asleep! My skin is still looking great, not red like after some facials, just looks really clean and glowing. I think I will definitely be back for another facial in a few weeks. Overall, salon was clean, staff friendly. I might go back and try their hair services too.

Ive been going to maria at salon thalia for years, and if your looking for a great stylist who does excellent work this is where you must go. you know that you've gotten a great haircut when your a couple weeks past due for a hair cut and your still getting compliments and your hair still looks good... i highly recommended maria, she wont disappoint !

I've been to a lot of hairdressers over the years and while some of them seem to get it right, it never lasts and sure enough after the third or fourth trip, my hair is a mess again. After searching all over, I found Maria at Thalia and I am set! She always listens to what I want, offers great advice on how to change it up (if I want) and I always leave looking great! Even better, my hair still looks great weeks after a cut.

I have found my new place! Had a bikini wax with Alyssa here, was great! I mean, as far as a wax can be great it was great. Almost painless, definetly quick and clean and she was really nice and made me feel comfortable. Plus she offered me a discount for when I come back for a facial which I will probably do. Didn't see the whole salon but overall it was clean, staff was friendly, I will be back!

I booked a facial at Thalia and got Alissa who was great! She made me feel very relaxed and was very detailed and knowledgable. She reccomended a Clarifying Facial which helped clear up my skin wright away. I asked her a lot of questions about my skin and she was happy to offer a her advise. I will defintily rebook in a few weeks with Alissa again. My skin is glowing and my acne cleared up immediately!

I went to Salon Thalia for the first time the other day. Katie was my stylist and she did an amazing job! She worked with me to figure out the perfect cut- one that combined my personal style with the most flattering shape and length for me. I will definitely go back to Katie & would recommend her to anyone.

I scheduled a last minute appointment with Katie. I was surprised to see the huge extent of the of salon, but it's easy to see why this place is so popular! My stylist did a great job combining what I knew I wanted and her ideas for what would work well in my hair, I've gotten nothing but compliments for the job she did! I have been recommending this salon to everyone.

I recently had a facial with Alissa at Salon Thalia and I highly recommend her! There was a great scalp massage at the end that I would love to come back for and book just that if I could! She was gentle with extractions, knowledgeable about skin and gave me some great tips about at-home care. It's been a little over a week and I've already seen an improvement in my skin.

Travis has been my stylist for 6 years in Scottsdale AZ, I have never had a bad experience! He always is considerate of what you would like - his training and talent is amazing.
While travelling from Scottsdale this summer we specifically came to Philly so I could have him 'cut and color'...it was perfect...and his new home Salon Thalia suits perfectly. The staff were so pleasant and helpful - especially when as a tourist I got lost and was late....
Scottsdales loss is certainly Philadephias gain..
I am glad to see he is already getting recognition from other customers - he deserves it!! (Miss you Travis)

Ask for Travis. He asked great questions and made sure to listen to what I wanted (or more importantly, didn't want). He was creative but stuck with a style that works for me. Also, he is very complimentary and didn't make me feel guilty for abusing my hair with a flat iron. It was an all around great experience and i will definitely be going back!

I'm new in town from NYC and was looking for a cool, urban salon near the Old City area. A couple people I've met recommended what they thought to be reliable choices, and after checking out a few I decided to go with Salon Thalia, right off of Washington Square. The space is modern and sleek, and the staff was very professional and accommodating. Now I'm the kind of person who doesn't like the 'fanfare' associated with going into a new salon and meeting a new hairdresser (I find that it can be like going on an interview), but everyone from the front desk to the assistants to the stylist that cut my hair made me feel completely at ease. Travis is a new stylist from Scottsdale and seems to really know what he's doing; my color was spot-on and I feel like my cut made me look ten years younger. I also met one of the owners (whose name was Michael, I think) and he took time out to introduce himself and make me feel further at home (a point I've always liked when going to my old West Village NYC spot). Bottom line - I never thought I'd find a new salon so fast that made me feel the way my old salon and stylist did, but from now on I'll be asking for Travis at Thalia. Keep up the good work.

Travis really took the time to work with what kind of look I wanted. He had great ideas on how to update me and make me feel INCREDIBLE! I get so many compliments on my cut and color! He used to be an educator for a big company and is really knowledgeable in his craft. This man is truly an artist! I will never let anyone else touch my hair again! The work he created was AMAZING and he is a really great person also! The price wasn't too bad either.

I recently went to Memories for the first time for a Brazillian wax - everything you've heard about her is true! She is amazing! Like the girl below me said, she usses some special wax that hurt no more than a bandaid coming off. And personally, I had a perfectly warm greeting from the reception staff so I don't know what that's about. I'm gonna try them for my hair next, I hope that's as great as Memories was! Plus, i didn't even get bumpy the next day.

I've had a couple facials here over the past year and I just have to say how much I love Memories and the salon itself. In this economy, my skin is something I just won't scrimp on, it makes me feel good and Memories is the best - number 1 hands down in Philadelphia - no question about it! She really customizes each time depending on what I need and is so funny and warm and soothing. She never makes me feel bad about my occassional or not so ocasional acne. The salon itself is beautiful! I can't remember the name of the girl who cut my hair but she was great too. I just wish I could afford all the wonderful products they have up front!

A friend of mine had told me about this place a while ago and I never made it in until recently. I'm sorry I waited so long. My hair has never looked better. Even weeks later after my cut, my hair is still drying really well on its own. Usually, my hair falls back into its unruly self after a week or two when I leave a salon but not this time. I also had a one color done and I bought the shampoo and conditioner they had recommended from Kerasstasse and wow! They were right, they really do make a difference. I've been using Redken and Pantene for so many years and I didn't realize what a difference the right products and the right cut can make. Plus, its just a beautiful salon with huge windows overlooking the park, it really can't be beat! I'm gonna go back soon for a facial with Memmories (I think that's her name, she did my brows too!) and I think that's gonna be awesome too! I don't usually write these kinds of things but I really liked my expereicne here so I wanted to share.

I've been a customer for about 2 years now and have had nothing but a positive experience. My hair is extremely thick and hard to control but I was able to get a cut that was easy to manage, stylish and hip. The stylist was able to look at my hair and direct me to a cut that would work with my hair type and the shape of my face. I wasn't sure that I was going to like the cut but I'm glad I listened because now I love it.They have always given me nothing but a professional cut , and a smiling face the moment I enter the building. The salon is always clean with a professional atmosphere and they never had to bump my appointment due to another client who was disrespectful by showed up late.
But I must say I LOVE MY HAIR!!!!!! And have gotten complement after complement by my friends. I'll continue to give them my repeat business.
Thanks guys, I never knew I could look so good!!!!!

I have never written a review before but feel so strongly about Salon Thalia that I have to write one now. I was a customer there from the day they opened... like 4 or 5 years ago until recently. I went there religiously (for cuts & highlights) the entire time. I purchased every hair care product from them including shampoo/conditioner and even my brushes, not to mention I referred dozens (seriously dozens) of people there. I was only ever welcomed there by my stylist, assistants and just one of the owners. The front desk staff and the other owner were never gracious and never acted appreciative of my business or referrals. I was treated with disrespect on more than 1 occasion (in-person and over the phone). My stylist was the reason I endured always gracious, super-talented, appreciative and accommodating. I adore my stylist, so when they left, I left. Unfortunately, they parted ways on less than amicable circumstances. The reason for this post is not only the above but to reveal the manner in which they have handled this undesirable circumstance. Days later, I learned that one of the front desk attendants posted on their Facebook page that they were happy to not have to wait on me again... and they used my first and last name. Needless to say, I was shocked and furious as this is WILDLY unprofessional and truly ridiculous because other than get annoyed by their frequently unhelpful and at times rude behavior, I have never treated them with unkindness or disrespect. Plus I have spent THOUSANDS annually since they opened and referred MANY others who have referred others. Apparently there was real issue with treating a long-time consumer with respect and courtesy and NO UNDERSTANDING OF TRUE CUSTOMER SERVICE and what that entails in a business model that depends on repeat business and referrals. I do not take pleasure in posting reviews like this but felt the need to in this occasion.

I have been going to Thalia for a little while now. I usually feel amazing when i leave the salon but i have had some unfortunate cuts recently. I brought pictures to the stylist only to have those pictures ignored. I am in a wedding in a couple of weeks and there is nothing i can do to fix the damage caused. Believe me there is no way to cover up this unprofessional cut. I asked the stylist whu my cut didnt look like the picture and he replied, " you dont have that kind of hair. It was never going to look like the picture." as my stylist shouldnt he have told me that before he started cutting?! I left the salon in tears and I wont go back.

This was a very nice place. It is clean and refreshing. You walk and you can tell right away you will walk out happy. It is a little on the pricier side but it is definitely worth it. I wouldn't go here if I was looking for a short trim, I would probably go somewhere a little cheaper, but if I'm looking for a new style I will be spending my money at Salon Thalia.

Salon Thalia rocks! The whole vibe of the place is so cool and clean, you just feel good walking in there. I always leave feeling relaxed and happy. It's a little bit more on the pricier side but worth every penny because my color and cuts always last so long. I never feel pressured to buy products (which I do anyway because I love kerastasse!) Everyone there is always warm and courteous. I highly recommend thalia!!!

I cut my normally long hair into a bob last winter and dyed it dark brown. By spring I was ready for a cut and a lighter hair color. I was nervous to let just anyone cut my already short hair --I just wanted it reshaped & was afraid it would get butchered. I knew I needed to splurge on a quality stylist from a quality salon. Based on CitySearch results I booked an appointment with Carolyn at Salon Thalia. She did a great job with the cut, color & highlights. She was so friendly and offered her expert opinion --which I'm glad she did because her color suggestion was better than what I originally wanted. Even her assistant, Susan, was so nice and attentive. It was a really great experience and the salon is beautiful.

Not anymore expensive than other salons in the Center City area. If you can afford it, go.

I can personally recommend MICHAEL as someone who takes the time to get to know you and your hair, and makes the most of what he learns. Best haircut EVER. Also, not trying to sell you services or products you don't need. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I recently went to salon thalia for the first time. One of my coworkers gets her hair done there and sent me to katie. Ever since katie has done my color I have been recieving compliments from all of my friends and even my husband noticed! I've always splurged on my hair, but i have never recieved as much feedback as i have since i've been to salon thalia. Id recommend Katie to anyone whos looking for a new look !! One of the first things I noticed about this salon is that when I called and said I was a new client and didn't know who I wanted to see, the receptionist actually took a minute to sit there and try to figure out who would be best for my personality, my budget and my hair. I have worked at some of the best salons in NYC and I know that that is the best kind of customer service, unlike some other places I have called in Philly who will just stick me with whoever. I saw Carter the first time I went and I really really liked what he did and him personally but then he went and moved out of state on me! So I was nervous about trying someone else but since I liked the salon so much I tried out Carolyn and I can honestly say, she is great and I am just as happy with her as I was with Carter. She really took the time to listen to me and she gave me a great cut.

In a last few months I have spent fair amount of money getting treatments, products and services in this salon and I would expect salon thalia to care a little more about whether or not I am satisfied with the results. It happened that I was not too happy with my resent experience (did not like how my hair came out), so instead of offering to do something to fix it, they make it sound that there is nothing they can do about it?.did not seemed like they care a lot about customer satisfaction... they did make me feel like they do not. And considering price you pay pay, I would expect a little more attention?
Also, they are not very consistent in their prices - I got the same procedure 3 weeks apart with the same stylist, though second time was much more expensive than before. Be very careful to specify what you want to be done because next thing you know your total is much higher than you expected. Tricky like that, not very upfront. Beware!!!
They defiantly lost me as a customer

I love this salon! I have a great experience everytime I go and I always pay a fair price. Sure, its a bit more expensive than some places but I don't get the same quality elsewhere. Everyone here is so nice and warm, from the front of the salon to the back. I always feel welcome and I just enjoy being here. Plus, my hair always looks great! And I like how they have snacks out because I always come after work when I'm starving! Too bad they don't have wine out -- that would make my experience even better!

Had my first experience at this salon this past weekend. Getting an appointment was easy even though it was bustling when I got there. Despite robust business the salon is very peaceful and the customer service excellent. Memories is The Best Waxer I have ever encountered (I've lived in Boston, DC, and LA) -- I don't know how she managed to do my brows without me walking away with a red forehead; that has literally never happened. She is a DOLL. A doll made of magic.

Michael is a complete and total sweetheart and gave me a perfect cut -- exactly what I wanted, executed artfully and carefully. He understood my hair texture perfectly, and the things I told him had haunted me in past haircuts he seemed to already have known. He takes his work seriously and absolutely wants you to be happy, and it shows. And no, I'm not an old biddy (per that upset reviewer) -- I'm a young, single, creative professional.

I don't usually post reviews and things like this but since I read the last two, I wanted to comment. I have been a loyal customer at Salon Thalia for about three years now and have never had an unpleasant experience. The front desk has always been courteous and polite and have never made me feel unwanted. Danielle and the owner have always been more than accommodating. I have always been happy with my cuts, color, shampoos, treatments, you name it.
I have purchased products in the past, some of which I have continued to use because I was happy with the results and others that I have chosen not to continue using wether due to a reaction (which I've had) or I just didn't care for them. I realize that when you purchase something, you're not purchasing a sample item. And if the product doesn't work, you move on to the next one. I believe that no business can run successfully by giving away products, which sounds like is exactly what this person wants.

I've been going to Carolyn at Salon Thalia for over two years. She is great and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a stylist or new salon. I can say I enjoy all of the staff there- always polite and helpful. Also, they have a great selection of products. There are at least six other women in my office who go there as well!

I agree...Memories does an excellent Brazilian wax. The first time I went to her was two summers ago when I went to Hawaii. I didn't want to have to shave while I was there so I decided to get waxed for the first time. Now I'm not going to lie...it HURT. But it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. She definitely takes care to apply pressure and soothing oils and whatnot to make it more bearable. I considered going somewhere else that was more convenient for me but I just can't. I've heard too many waxing horror stories so I'll stick with who I KNOW will do a great job.

Memories is the best if you want a Brazilian Bikini Wax, eyebrow wax, etc.
I've been all over Center City trying to find someone who will get it right and Memories gets it right every single time!
She has great attention-to-detail skills your eyebrows and brazilian wax will look perfect after her!

This salon is a great place. It provides incredible services yet still never losing the personal touch. Michael has been my stylist 3 years and I would not trust my hair to anyone else. He has taken me from blonde to brunette and then back to blonde again without any damage, and always accompanied by fantastic cuts. Highly Recommended!!

I?ve been coming here a few years now and seeing Ashley. She is definitely my favorite hairdresser I?ve had over the years. She gives advice and feedback on things I?m considering, but doesn?t push her own agenda. I get highlights done, but am pretty low maintenance about hair, and don?t have the time or money to get touched up as often as recommended. She works hard to give me great-looking highlights that can grow out without being too obvious and looks very natural (better than natural!). She?s also never made me feel bad about my infrequent visits, which I?ve had happen at other high-end salons before. It is a splurge for me in terms of price (usually $200 for color and cut) but it?s certainly comparable to other salons, and I only have to go a few times a year because of the great job Ashley does. The salon itself is also a nice setting, big sunny room, everyone has always been friendly at front desk, etc.

This is one of the nicest salons in the city. Its absolutely beautiful and very clean throughout. I saw Carolyn who did a fantastic job and gave me a beautiful haircut - very fresh looking and something that really suits my face. I never would have thought to have it cut this way so I'm glad she was able to think of that. The whole staff was really very nice and helpful. I will definitely be back!

I've been here 3 times to get my hair cut and i've always gotten compliments on my hair-dos by family, friends, and strangers on the street! At first it is quite intimating b/c the cosmetics of the salon seem to only cater to "high-end clients", but the staff makes you feel comfortable. Also, when I first decided to check this salon out, i was nervous that they wouldn't know how to cut my textured hair (asian), but i come to realize they truly are professionals and have training and experience with all hair types.

I've been to Wyatt first; the 2nd time he wasnt available so I made an appt with Carter; the 3rd time, Carter wasnt available so I was set up with Juaquin. They are all talented and highly professional. No matter who you get, you're hair is in good hands! Price ranges from $55-$75 - a bit pricey, but do-able. I also like the fact that they focus their attention on YOU from the start; greeting you in the lobby to shampooing to the hair cut to walking you out.

At the end of hair cut, they give you a form of the products they used in your hair. I understand it is part of their job to sell the products, but I never felt burdened or pressured to purchase their items. They carry such products like Bumble & Bumble and Kerastase (sp?) and Shu Uemura.

Overall, i'm pretty low maintenance on hair care, so splurging on Salon Thalia is always a treat!

The people here treated me with warmth like I was already a long-time client. Come appointment time, I walked into the most beautiful salon I've ever seen. I worked with a junior stylist, Carolyn, who answered question after question, gave me cost- and time-effective tips and taught me what good hair care and smart styling was all about. I kept my length despite split ends as she showed me exactly the care I needed.

I also had an eyebrow wax at the same appointment with Memories, who must be among the sweetest people I've ever met. Like Carolyn, Memories actually counseled me on my look. She began by cleaning up the obvious areas and then stopped, handed me a mirror, and talked me through her recommendations for shaping and improving the look over time. I could hardly tell when Memories waxed my eyebrows. It felt like a tickle - really! She also gave me the most relaxing, calming and truly effective facial massage (at no additional charge) during the waxing that bestowed a calm and confidence in me even my boyfriend commented on later that eventing.

I experienced Salon Thalia through my whole body. My stylists were patient, consulted me on every step of my treatment from color to cut to wax and counseled me on everything from hair growth to what's ideal for my face and body type and how to work towards it over time. It made me feel like I was finally learning how to improve my look in a healthy and sensible way, one that was natural and would endure.

The pricing here isn't Supercuts-cheap but I paid what I expected and it was affordable. What stands out the most is the way Salon Thalia works with their clients on an individual basis to create a desired look and their sliding-scale pricing is an affordable reflection of the same.

Danielle at the front desk was great. She welcomed me warmly when I arrived, her total recognition at just the sound of my voice 8 hours earlier.

Just wanted to say how happy I am with this salon. It's clean, friendly, trendy without being obnoxtious and I always feel like a million bucks when I walk out of there. Now that they have a nail person, I can get my nails done here too plus they have really cute stuff for sale up front, like shirts and hair things. I see Carolyn for my hair, Memories for waxing but I think that everyone is probably really good there.

I have been going to Michael and Salon Thalia for the past 4 years, and I have never experienced anything but the best from each and every staff member. I came to Michael after a stylist from another salon "botched" my hair beyond repair, or so I thought. Michael was a miracle worker who not only fixed the horrible cut and color job, but made me look amazing! And as for your comment about "old biddies", I am a thirty-something young professional working in sales where my appearance is important to me. I also am a past professional make up artist who has worked with "A" list stars on movies and music videos who likes to stay on the cutting edge of fashion and style. Michael is always willing to listen to what I want and always creates the trendy and sophisticated look I ask for! Carter, one of the hairstylists at Salon Thalia, gave me the best hair cut in my life! I don't have a lot of time to deal with my hair and I, therefore, like keeping it short. However, it always ends up poofing if it's not cut right. I walked in to Salon Thalia for the first time, asking Carter to cut my hair to around chin length with the only criteria that it won't poof. After that, I left it to him to decide what would work best and look best. I was not disappointed. He really took the time to make sure to thin out my hair by layering it properly and create a simple style with a slightly unique flare (bob-like but with an off-center part, some asymmetry, and layering/lengths that give it some character). I was so thrilled when I saw what he did that I left the salon feeling more confident than I have in a long time. When my husband saw me, his jaw dropped.

I have to admit that I am usually not a fan of going to a salon, but going to Salon Thalia was a great experience. Everyone, from the women at the front desk to the hairstylists, was the nicest. I HIGHLY recommend this place, and I STRONGLY recommend asking for Carter. You won't be disappointed!

I just moved to Philly a month ago, and I have been pouring over salon reviews for weeks. Salon Thalia had amazing reviews and was voted one of the top salons in the city. Well, during a "I hate my hair and it needs to be changed ASAP" moment today, I called up Salon Thalia at 3:30 in the afternoon in hopes of getting squeezed in for a color. The oh-so-sweet girl that answered the phone fixed me up w/ an appointment w/ Juaquin at 4:00 the same day. The place is perfect....everyone there was as nice as they could be....and Juaquin was amazing! He was super sweet. He completely listened to what I wanted and added some ideas of his own. And he is great at what he does! This is the best color that I have had in a long, long time. It's perfect! Thank you so much Salon Thalia for squeezing me in and being so nice! And most importantly, thank you so much Juaquin for an amazing color!!! For those of you reading this review, I will also add that this was also the most expensive salon that I have ever been to. However, in my opinion, this color was worth every penny. So, if you're willing to spend the money on awesome hair, this is definitely the place to go! Ask for Juaquin!

I am brand new to Philadelphia and I needed to find a salon. I found Salon Thalia on citysearch and decided to check it out for myself after reading the reviews. I was especially nervous about going to a salon because even though I was in serious need of a haircut, I am getting married in April and I was nervous about my hair being ok for the wedding. But as I said, I was in serious need of a haircut and I felt confident about this salon after checking out the webiste and the reviews.
The salon is beautiful: you can't help but feel relaxed and calm when you walk in. Every single staff member that I came into contact with was pleasant and professional. Carter cut my hair and I could not have asked for a better stylist! He took time to listen to me about what I wanted and he gave helpful feedback and advice. He was meticulous in his cut- explaining to me what he was doing and why. He also explained each product he was using and what it would do for my hair and he gave me great styling tips. It was refreshing to have a stylist who obviously cares about what he does and takes his time with the cut. I would highly recommend this salon to everybody and I would especially recommend you get Carter!

I was recently referred to Carolyn by a friend of mine and I'm so happy I gave her a try! I had been box-dyeing my hair for years, which I know is terrible but it always looked good until I got carried away and basically ruined it. Carolyn really did fix my hair and bring it back to a beautiful color without making me feel bad about doing it to myself and without charging me an arm and a leg for it. She also cut into my layers, making my hair feel lighter and look prettier than it has in a long time. Then, I got the best manicure ever from Cindy! She was quick, meticulous and does the best polish application! Everything was so nice about my experience here, I can't wait to go back! Plus, they carry all the best products - Kerastase, Bumble and Bumble and Shu Uemura which I couldn't find anywhere else.

Go see Cindy for manicures and pedicures here! I have been getting my nails done since I was a little kid and I can honestly say, she is the best! She is incredibly thorough and gets my feet looking and feeling beautiful (and believe me, they are not starting off that way at all)! Also, she does the most amazing nail designs - everything from little intricate flowers to skulls! My friends thought I had put little skull stickers on my nails - that's how detailed they were. Its like she's literally painting masterpieces on your nails. And to top it all off, she rubbed my neck and back (no charge!) while my nails were drying! Cindy is the best in the city and her prices are etremely reasonable.

I have never placed a review of anything on the internet, but this one is definitely warranted. I have been going to Memories for brazilian waxing for months and she is the best. I have been to at least four other spas in this city and others in the past and NONE compare, both in terms of minimizing pain and results. (If you are only getting eyebrows done, you won't even feel a thing!). She is so easy going and friendly -- great for first timers who are nervous.

LOVE, LOVE the salon and Wyatt is absolutely awesome. I am compelled to write this review only because after being with the same stylist for seven years who is three hours away, I was referred to Wyatt and now, will no longer be making the drive to my other stylist. From the friendliness of all at the salon to Wyatt's amazing color/cut - I have absolutely NO complaints. And to think, I almost cancelled this appointment. Wyatt's skills/technique are fabulous and I felt incredibly comfortable with him. Actually, shortly after I sat down and talked about my hair with him, I really had no fear of Wyatt handling my hair. He completely paid attention to detail with regard to both the cut and highlights (fantastic placement!!) To my surprise, Wyatt truly met and exceeded my expectations. And, he's got a great sense of humor to boot - can't beat that! I couldn't have anticipated a better first experience, especially considering I was the last person in the salon on a Saturday evening and DIDN'T feel like he was rushing to get me out the door.

I've been going to Salon Thalia for over a year now and I am still more than pleased in the service and attention I get. I usually see Wyatt but there was a while where he was out due to injury and I saw both Carter (who was great but sadly moved away!) and Tiffany who also was fantastic. On top of that, Danielle, the receptionist is always sweet and willing to work me in. In fact, I just called for an appointment tomorrow and she happily got me in! I am always happy with both my cuts and color and and I never feel pressured into anything there. The vibe is so relaxed and everyone is very genuine that would probably have to pay me to go somewhere else. I highly recommend Salon Thalia!

I was just coming on here to get the number to make my next appointment with Wyatt at Salon Thalia, and saw the unfavorable review. I felt like I needed to write my own review!

Wyatt took his time and we discussed everything he'd be doing with my hair from the moment I sat in his chair. I truely appreciated his attention to detail, and professional, yet super friendly and personable demeanor. He's the kind of person who I feel 100% comfortable telling him if I'm not happy with something b/c he seems to genuinely care that his client leaves the salon satisfied.

I would highly recommend Wyatt if you are looking for someone who is going to take the time to give you personal attention and make you feel comfortable, and not rush you out of the salon and onto his next client. And make your hair look amazing! I left with shiny, full locks and felt like a million dollars. Can't wait to go back for a cut and color!

I will be honest and say that the receptionist staff leaves a little to be desired - they could be more warm and friendly (which is why I gave the salon 4 stars vs. 5 stars). But it won't deter me from going back.

i just have to say what a wonderful stylist Tiffany is...i found her by going on this website then making an appt and i will NEVER EVER go to another stylist again...she listens to what you say, is very talkative, funny, and sooooo nice! she is honest as well - i wanted to get a haircut like victoria beckham and she said it would be too shot but we could take that cut and make it a little longer and it looks AMAZING...i did not have a good experience w. Memories so i cant recommend her...the manager is very good though! she really cares about her job and customers!

After years of searching for a stylist who understood me, I have finally found not only one but at least two, both at the wonderful Salon Thalia. I had been going to Carolyn for my hair for about six months and my hair had looked better than it ever had. I was initially upset to hear that she was on maternity leave (how dare she!) but they assured me Tiffany would take care of me in Carolyn's absence. Wow, were they right! It's so nice to know that an entire salon can produce great hair, not just one or two people.

I love coming here because its so beautiful and everyone is so nice and creative.

From the moment I walked in to this salon I fell in love!!! Everyone was so friendly. After going to pierre and carlo where they acted like I was lucky to be there, this was such a refreshing change. I chose Wyatt to do my hair after reading all the great reviews, and I'm so glad I did!! He was very consultative and gave me a color that made my eyes really stand out and my skin look so much better! He also spent a lot of time giving me a fabulous cut that is so flattering and has such great texture. The salon was clean, the staff all told me how great my color was when I left, and the price was totally worth it for the end result - it was even less than I expected it to be. I love this place and can't wait to go back so Wyatt can put some highlights in my new 'do!

Based only on its Citysearch reviews, my friend and I went to Salon Thalia. Individually, we both experienced poor customer service, and I experienced a poor, overpriced product. The details are below.

My friend went in for a French manicure, but the technician talked so much she ran out of time. After a hour, my friend walked out with just a coat of paint on her short little nails! To be completely fair to the salon, the manager ended up refunding my friend's money.

I went in for a demi dye job, and knowing I had only an hour, I said I didn't need it styled. But after the final rinse, the stylist towelled my hair and then didn't even comb it. I have long, one-layer, straight hair. In no way is it towel-and-go hair. I tried to comb through my hair with my fingers to make it lay down. He watched me do this and didn't offer me a comb. The whole dying process took three times longer than he promised and he miscalculated the amount of dye needed by half! The demi dye job I got was to hide my gray hair, so I asked for it to match my natural color. My natural hair color is very medium brown. The dye job was much, much darker. Everyone I knew teased me mercilessly about it. A comedian at a comedy club asked me if I'm Wiccan. The other comedian onstage defended me by saying there was nothing Wiccan about me except my hair. My hair is that unnatural looking. My husband calls it "the bad dye job". Thank goodness it's just a demi and is washing out. Worst of all, I paid $80 for that demi!

So I call and am set up with an appointment with Carter at Salon Thalia. It was a little confusing to find, but once I walked in I knew this would be a great experience. The salon is so customer-orientated. The space is big, people are friendly, and stylists see only one client at a time to ensure individualized service. Carter spent over an hour cutting my hair, but when he was done, I was a rockstar!! I went from so-so and boring to this amazing cut with texture and fun... Yeah, it short, but I look like a rockstar. I left the salon feeling gorgeous!! I sang "Party like a Rockstar" all afternoon at work, and I sure felt like one... Carter, you ROCK!!!

Time flies by while at Salon Thalia. It is like chatting with a bunch of friends over drinks.

I desperately needed to get my hair cut and blown out last October and I decided to give Salon Thalia a try. After Carolyn did my hair, I was hooked. I instantly stopped using my stylist, who I had been using for years, at 800 West in Jersey and now only use Carolyn. I always get rave reviews from my family and friends. I am always confident that she will cut my extensions perfectly.

You know that Memories does great eyebrows when your fiancee notices the change. Come on... what guy notices eyebrows! I was reluctant to get my first bikini wax and underarm wax but trusted her to do a great job. Not only is Memories very professional, but we laugh throughout the entire appointment.

I always look forward to my appointments at Salon Thalia and know that anyone who goes will be extremely happy with the result.

This salon is wonderful. Tiffany is a fantastic stylist and she has given me the best hair color of my life. She's amazing with highlights, and does outstanding single color too. She is super sweet, makes you feel very comfortable and the end result is always spectacular. Love her! As for Memories, she has a way of making an eyebrow wax totally painless. I've been waxing my eyebrows for 15 years now and had always dreaded the experience, until I met Memories. I don't know what she does, but it is painless, and then she gives you a nice massage in the eyebrow area so you're left totally relaxed and without redness or swelling. Its really an outstanding experience! And of course, the eyebrows always look spectacular when she's done. Go to Salon Thalia and meet Tiffany and Memories and you won't be disappointed!

After searching and reading reviews, I decided to take a chance at Salon Thalia. I made an appointment with a stylist named Mia, she had so many excellent reviews , I had to check her skills out. the salon was beyond my expectations, friendly, beautiful, spacious, and not pretentious. Mia took her time to talk with me, talking about color and a style. I totally felt like I could trust her. I loved my highlights and my new look.
she also helped me out with taking better care of my color by giving me a special in-house treatment that would allow for my color to last longer and it made it feel like silk. I also purchased some of the products she recomended, and I'm loving them. I'm glad I took this chance and chose Mia. Thanks Mia, I'll be back!!!

I decided to try Salon Thalia because I needed a new look and saw all of the great reviews on Citysearch. I also requested Wyatt because of all of the great reviews about him. All of the reviews are absolutely correct! He did such a great job with cutting and coloring my hair! I've been having trouble growing it out because it's on the thinner side, but he gave me a cut that makes my hair fuller and I love it. He also helped me pick a color that compliments my skin and eyes. I highly recommend him!

5 years ago, I put my life long problems with my skin in Mila's hands. I'd been covering up my face with make-up since I was 14. After a few months under her care, I was able to stop wearing cover-up! She is truly a magician when it comes to facials. I followed her to Salon Thalia from her previous salon and I found it to be delightful and very professional.

I have been terrified to get eyebrows and Brazilian wax for more than 5 years. I have been searching for a new salon for the last couple of months as my wedding day gets closer & closer. I have horrible past experience with eyebrows & Brazilian wax (most of the time I had bruises; my hair grew back in a couple days; which mean the hair was broken off, and it was excruciating painful). As my wedding day get closer & closer I felt compelled to do this. Then my life savior (my friend Jennifer) recommended me to Memories. I trusted Jennifer so I had my first appointment with Memories. Memories made me feel so comfortable and relaxed. She made my Brazilian waxing at ease, painless, and bruises free. Most of my life I always thought that pain and bruises are what Brazilian waxing all about. Wow it was just unbelievable how comforting & relaxing experienced I had when she wax my eyebrows. I was impressed with how she has the skills to execute it & give you the best eyebrows to compliment your eyes and face structure. I have been getting a facial with the same beautician for over 2 years and when I found out she left her salon, I had to go where she went; and she came to Salon Thalia. I would never dream of having a facial done by anybody else but her. In all the facials I have had, in Philly or anywhere else, she has by far been the best I have ever seen. She is really professional and diagnoses what you need before she starts, she takes her time because there is nothing worse than someone rushing your facial whenyou are relaxed. She knows everything about skin whether you have normal skin and just need a facial or have some problems with dryness etc. My skin since I have seen her has improved dramatically (it was a little dry) . She is very friendly and has the softest hands (there is nothing worse than rough hands on the face) and reall takes her time. You also get lovely hot mask and while waiting you get a nec and shoulder massage.Best of all, and hard to find these days, she will do extraction. She is also great at eyebrow shaping and waxing. If you need a facial or wax, ask for Mela at Salon Thalia. Highly recommended, and she is not pushy like other salons with products (although Dermalogica has to be the best product on the market.).
Just look at her skin, and there's your proof of how good she is!!

I also go to Wyatt and highly recommend you do the same! My hair always grows out so nicely, its hard to even tell sometimes when I need to cut it again. My color always looks great plus he's so easy to communicate with. This salon is also great for manicures and pedicures, the nail room is beautiful (as is the whole salon!), I could spend all day in there!

Recently I went to Salon Thalia for a second time thinking it couldn't be as great as the first. I was wrong... from a friend's urging I made an appointment with Wyatt a few months ago. I walked out feeling beautiful! My hair has never looked so good..really. I won't go as far to say it was an ugly duckling turned swan situation but it was damn close. Last week I went back to Wyatt and again he did an amazing job turning my normally flat hair into a voluminous style for the second time. It even grew out perfectly. I was blown away..no pun intended. The best part of the experience was upon leaving when another stylist walked over and said how great my hair looked. All I could say was "I know!" Wyatt isn't just highly but tremendously recommended...and did I mention he's eye candy too??

This salon is great! I am new to Philadelphia and made an appointment with Wyatt after reading about him on their website. He did an incredible job with my hair - cut and highlighted! As the title alone would say........I want to say this, I am moving back home due to graduating this year.
The past two years Ive been treating myself to Salon thalia once a month and could actually say that I have a hair stylist : Mia.
Within the past two years I have never writtin a review and I feel terrible. Mia has always been such a pleasure, witty ,funny and a professional with the utmost skill as well as all the assistants that Ive seen here and there.
I can remember the first time I made an appointment it seemed like I would never be able to afford it and come back again....but guess what ?????? Its so worth it.
I know this sounds so silly but I am really going to miss my monthly visits as well as Mia. When I left today I took a handfull of Mia's business cards because you never know when one of friends will be in town and might need their hair done.....So Mia if your reading this maybe you will see some of my friends If we are ever in the Philadelphia area again.

I did a terrible thing. I thought I could dye my hair myself. It was terrible. Chunks were one color; other pieces were a totally different color. The team at Salon Thalia was great. They fit me into the schedule that day. They transformed my hideous hair into a blond that looked totally natural. To top it all off they were really understanding and nice about it. I can't recommend them enough.

i left my long-time hairstylist when she wasn't able to work in the updated style i had in mind and tried to describe..

i was recommended to work with WYATT at Thalia.

The salon is beautiful and Wyatt took care of me from start to finish. He took the time to consult and understand what i was looking for.. A great cut that worked in my ideas, but better - Wyatt made suggestions that better suit my hair texture and my ability to keep up the look.

Having just moved to Philly and being used to Madison Avenue Salons I was perplexed about where to begin to find a good salon. I checked CitySearch and decided to try Salon Thalia. I booked an appointment with John. The Salon had a wonderful ambiance and decor and John did a great job with my color and cut. I can honestly say my hair looked just as good as any cut and color I have ever received on Madison Avenue. I moved to Philly almost three years ago, and was looking for a new salon. I didn't know who to ask for a recommendation, so I tried online search and found Salon Thalia here on Citysearch. I called up and got an appointment with John and that was the best thing that could have happened to me (my first visit was April 2005). My highlights and cut were done perfectly, (even other professional that I visited couple weeks later while on a vacation was complementing on well my highlights were done). John found a good style for my hair, taught me how to style it on a day to day basis without spending 30 minutes in front of the mirror every morning. They use great hair products, staff is very friendly and make you feel pampered throughout the visit. I love returning to this place for a cut every couple of weeks!

Memories is one of kind. I went to get my eye brows waxed for the first time and only one word can explain it, painless. Memories at Salon Thalia is a miracle worker!! She is the only person I go to at Salon Thalia. She takes great pride in her work and it shows. She spends a good 20 minutes concentrating on the shape of your brow that goes best with your face. She will give you tips on where to tweeze and she gives you a relaxing brow massage. It's like a mini facial when you get your brows waxed. The thing that sealed the deal was when my husband actually noticed my brows and gave me a nice comment on them. I have been getting my brows done forever and now he notices? What man notices eyebrows??? Memories is PERFECTION!

About two years ago I went to Tiffany Schaffer at Salon Thalia for a cut and color, and I was hooked. She is a perfectionist when it comes to hair. She has great vision and is talented at choosing a style and tone that will compliment your features. I was in a wedding this past May and Tiffany gave me an up-do that stole the show. She was able to recreate a picture I saw in a magazine perfectly. The photographer actually pulled me aside to take a picture of my hair. She gives wonderfully relaxing shampoos. Whenever I leave Salon Thalia, I can't keep my hands off my hair; it feels like silk. Not only is she extremely gifted at what she does, she is reasonably priced as well. I would recommend her to anyone.

Recently, I went to Salon Thalia to get color and hair extensions. Knowing that a drastic new look could be risky I wanted a stylist who was a known perfectionist, but still very approachable and down to earth. So, the reception team set me up with Tiffany assuring me that she was very meticulous as well as personable. I can't say how impressed I was with her work. She took me from black hair that was fine, frizzy and breaking off to locks that reached the bottom of my back in glistening gold and blonde. I sit here and write this because everywhere I go people compliment my "gorgeous" hair. It is very true that beauty is more than just skin deep, but when someone with the talent to take your idea and turn it into a physical vision; a work of art; the feeling produced is a very special one that shines through and past your biggest flaws.
If you're looking for such a stylist I cannot recommend a better one.
Tiffany is available Tuesday through Saturday (Monday per request.) Location and ambiance is notable as well.

I recently visted salon thalia for the first time ( since being a salon hopper ). First i have to say the setup was amazing !! Next i was greated by Mia who seemed so energetic and pleased to take the time to talk to me and explain everything to me step by step.

I have been getting my eyebrows and brazilian wax for quite some time and I have jump from many different places. However Salon Thalia offers the best waxing in the city I have ever encountered!!! Memories is incredibly meticulous; her techniques are painless, relaxing, and polished. No one looks forward to getting brazilian waxing, but Memories makes my brazilian wax a breeze. The waxing was almost entirely pain free. I felt so comfortable and at ease that i always struggle to stay awake while she works on me. She is also truly gifted in the art of eyebrows shaping. I've never had so many compliments on my eyebrows before. I highly recommend to get "Your Ideal Signature Eyebrows". Salon Thalia is the only place I'll go for a painless waxing experience!!!

Have you ever noticed when you go out in the city, everyone seems to have the same haircut? After much research and review, I have been graced to fall upon the amazing new york-style skills of the stylists/artists at Salon Thalia. Creativity defines a particular stylist - Juaquin - as he does anything BUT the ordinary. Juaquin understands how to cut/style/color your hair to really flatter your face. He is a master with the scissors and posseses a rare gift of knowing hair texture and exactly how to shape it. He knows what color works with skin tone and definitely gives great tips on how to achieve a look that is different - unique - your own. The price is low for high results. I am grateful that we have New York/LA talent right here in friendly Philly. A courteous staff, 5 star decor and top rate head massages make the atmosphere a relaxing occassion. If you want a - different - experience that you will not regret, take my advice and go see Juaquim.

I finally decided that I wanted a completely new hairstyle but I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted. So I gave my hairstylist, Juaquin, the freedom to come up with something that was different but not too crazy. The result was so much better than I could have possibly imagined! The cut fit my face perfectly and the color was so vibrant yet still natural looking. It is a soothing and comforting place with little noise and disturbance while one is receiving the agreed upon treatment. The front desk is polite and efficient. The colorist Wyatt has raised the bar for all salons and stylists Michael and Mia are not only excellent in their craft, they are professional, friendly and always put the client at ease. One of my friends on leaving Pileggi on the Square said she was made to feel old, underappreciated and poorly put together. This would never happen at Thalia Salon. One is always made to feel beautiful whether they are or not.

I am a habitual salon hopper, but I went to Salon Thalia today for the first time. Carolyn did an amazing job! She changed the shape, texture, color and overall quality of my hair. I have called all of my friends and told them they MUST go to Salon Thalia and see Carolyn. She is friendly, creative and a hair genius. I saw Memories to have my eyebrows waxed and they also turned out perfect. The room is very relaxing and I struggled to stay awake while she worked.
From the time you walk in the door to the time you walk out, Salon Thalia is an experience that cannot be rivalled! I have never received so many compliments on my hair as I did today just walking down the street. Thank you Carolyn!

I recently read a review of of salon thalia on city search, I was in search of a new hair salon. There stylists were all highly prased so I figured why not try, so I called to make an appointment, the desk girls were so helpful by the way, and they recomended John Peirce to take care of my locks. I was so impresed with how he sat with me for about 10 min. too discuse what I wanted to acheive with my hair, I never felt more comfortable with stylist. "He gave me the best highlites I have ever had and the most stunning cut too"! I left there spending a littel more than my last place, but worth every penny. I highly recommend John and Salon thalia. So as the saying goes "You get what you pay for"!

I. LOVE. THIS. PLACE. Seriously, I will suffer hair and skin withdrawl if I ever move away from Philly. I've been coming here for a year, and when I walked in I was sure I was in for a very large bill, given how elegant and classy the salon is. Well I was surely shocked, because a haircut by the owner done carefully and with no rush was less than $100. Jaw dropping, really. The real gem of this place (aside from how incredibly courteous everyone is. . .no snobbery here) is their esthetician, Connie, who transformed my ravaged skin to makeup unnecessary skin in less than 6 months. I am a Dermaware and Kerastase product convert and you will be too once you come here.

I was growing out bad and brassy highlights and my grey was coming in fast and furious right before the holidays. I needed a talented, creative colorist right away to add new, toned-down highlights and blend everything together. I called Salon Thalia because they were nearby and well-recommended, and I was given an appointment with Tiffany. She listened to my long and (I'm sure) confusing description of what I was after and came up with a thoughtful solution to my rather odd problem. She also won my confidence with her calm manner and detailed approach manner. Her work was fast and precise and the results were stunningly beautiful - natural, vibrant, and so well suited to my complexion. I've never had so many compliments on my hair before. I would recommend Tiffany to anyone.

I recently moved to Philadelphia and I admired a womens haircut and she recommended Michael at Salon Thalia. When I called to schedule an appointment Michael was already booked but the receptionist was so helpful with recommending another stylist. Tiffany gave me a beautiful, easy to manage haircut and I went back to get highlights as she suggested. Both experiences were wonderful. The atmosphere is very friendly and helpful. If your not sure where to go, you should really give this salon a try.

As a New Yorker transplanted to Philadelphia I was nervous about finding a high-end salon that would compare to those in Manhattan. After 1 1/2 years of trying different salons, I finally found Salon Thalia and LIZ and am beyond happy! I have been seeing Liz for over 2 years now and she is the best stylist I have ever been to. I get compliments on my hair from strangers on the street and friends who now see Liz as well. Getting my hair done is an absolute treat - Liz is patient, has great ideas about my hair, but also listens to what I want. She also makes the experience extremely enjoyable - she is very friendly and always, always has a smile on her face. I would recommend Liz to anyone!

As soon as you enter you feel welcome from the warm and friendly staff.
They are always eager to take your coat and make you feel at home.
Wyatt gives a great shampoo because he will massage your scalp as he shampoos your hair. It is truly delightful. He will then get you a beverage of your choice.
Michael is truly a gifted artist! From color, cuts to blow drys' and updos', he will create a master piece! Michael is the only one I allow to do my hair.

Salon Thalia is a welcomed change in the landscape of the Philadelphia salon experience. The space is warm and charming which is a perfect fit for the caring, professional staff. Salon Thalia is a second-rate salon. From the cold interior to the careless staff - I would definitely NOT recommend this place to anyone, especially for color. I had severe damage done to my hair by the careless slopping of mix-matched hues and over-processing while my "colorist" was busy on smoking breaks. No follow-up, not even to check their work- just hand you over for a blow dry and then on to the next. Lots and lots of attitude, to top it off. Definitely will not be going back to Salon Thalia.

I have been going to Carolyn for about three years now. Before Carolyn my hair was a wreck. I had permed and done at-home dye jobs that tortored my hair and took forever to grow out. After all of those messes I was hesitant to color my hair again, but I was desperate to get rid of the mousy brown color, but I was also afraid of looking too drastic and fake. Carolyn has been giving me a combo of low lights and highlights that look natural and the cut is very flattering. I receive numerous compliments about my cut and color. With two days left before my business trip to montreal, i needed a haircut. Instead of getting a $10 haircut I went with the recomendation of a friend.

I have been a client of John Pierce's for the past six years. I have never felt so comfortable with a hair stylist before; especially, being a guy that used to go to the $10 a cut neighborhood barber shops. The August edition of Allure featured an article about the top colorists in different cities. I frequently go to New York and have been to several salons there for highlights. I have usually been pleased with the results. However, after reading Allure Magazine, I decided to try Bruce Slemmer of Salon Thalia who was featured in the article as a top colorist in Philadelphia. Never have I received such professional and personal attention. Along with that I received the best highlights and hair cut I have ever had! Ihad so many foils and a really natural look when he was done. Allure was absolutely on target!!! Bruce is now the only stylist who I will ever allow to do my hair. I agree with the previous reviewer, Ashley is amazing. She is the first person I've met that can play with my hair and make it look good instead of boring or frizzy. I made an appointment after reading the reviews here on citysearch. I walked in and was amazed with how friendly the staff was. The salon is absolutely stunning! Upon entering Salon Thalia expect to be greeted with warm sincerity. It seems as though no details have been over looked. I was a new client to this salon and I was refered by the owner to Carolyn. I initially was scheduled to get only a haircut because I go to another salon for my color but I was curious to hear what Carolyn would recommend. After having a consultation, I took the plunge and she transformed me. She also recomended a conditioning treatment that turned my previously dryed out hair into silk. I've been to many salons in many cities, and Salon Thalia surpassed my highest expectations. The professionalism is unbelievable, from changing into a robe before a cut to the warm towels and personal attention you receive while your hair is washed. Gregory is amazing! I had a manicure and pedicure last week. His technique and consultation allowed me to understand and learn more about my needs. This wasn't just the basic manicure/pedicure. Salon Thalia offers an unbelieveable all-around experience. The Salon itself is absolutley stunning. I experienced the best facial of my life by Terry. And then my experience only got better from there. I finally have found the stylist of my dreams. Bruce Slemmer made me feel like I was a star and went over and beyond just being a stylist. He made me comfortable and even showed me ways to get the "salon feeling" everyday when I do my hair. The color was awesome. He made my highlights look so natural and gave me a used amazing products, Kerastase. I couldnt help but buy every product that he recommended because they made my hair look the best its even been.

The beautiful space and attentive staff make you feel like a VIP from the moment you walk in. I go to Maria, the owner, and have FINALLY found a stylist I will never cheat on. She holds herself to the highest standards and demands the same excellence from her staff. I've also had my hair done by Michael, Ashley, and Mia and loved each experience. In addition, you can't get a better shampoo anywhere else in the city - kudos to Wyatt and Carolyn. I have visited over 15 salons in Philly and have finally found what I was looking for. This salon is in an incredible space, the staff is the most professional and pleasant I have ever encountered. I started going to Bruce a couple of years ago when he was at another salon in Newtown where I live. Believe me, he's worth the 45 minute drive into the city!!! His coloring skills are exceptional, as are his cutting & styling skills. I can't tell you how many people have told me how great my hair looks! Every employee I encountered, from the receptionist to the stylists (including mine, the fabulous Mia!) was warm and welcoming. Mia spent about 4 1/2 hours cutting, coloring, and highlighting my hair, and after a few minutes, I felt like I was talking to an old friend. My hair was in sorry shape when I arrived--when she was done working her magic, it was unbelievable--I couldn't believe it was me in the mirror! I'll never go anywhere else in the city again.

I LOVE Salon Thalia! Everyone is sooo pleasant and down to earth, no pretensious snobs here, the atmosphere is fabulous - relaxing and upbeat at the same time, and spotlessly clean. I can't tell you how many people have complemented me on my hair, Liz Jacobs is such a great stylist and very fun!

Can't stress it enough what a relaxing and calm atmosphere . Exclusively on Mondays only, Andre' DeLuca the next hair guru of philadelphia. Words can't describe the over all service Andre' had given me, from the one on one consultation were he took his time in to explaining in detail what he was going to do, with his unique way of cutting and working with my natural hair texture to cre8 the perfect style for me, and also learning how to achieve different styles and looks with blowdrying techniques and product knowledge.What to use and what to stay away from, and most important how to limit my time in the morning to achieve my fabulous style. Two thumbs up, words can't describe Andre'. Its without a doubt a experience to see him in action for yourself. You won't regret it, better book now his getting busy fast. Monday's only:(

I got a recommendation from a friend of mine who got her hair done by Lauren. I went in to visit her & OH MY GOD. I could not have asked for a better cut and color. I absolutely love my highlights and and my cut could not be better. Lauren really listened to everything I wanted and she achieved it!! I LOVE IT!!

Your search is over if you are looking for an upscale salon that gives 100% attention to YOU! The staff is so pleasant and is committed to making your stay a special one from the moment you arrive until you head out the door. Michael is my stylist and he does an amazing job. He is patient and he listens. Then he incorporates my input into a wonderful style that I can keep looking good at home! I've met many of the other stylists, too and they are as equally attentive to making you look gorgeous and younger! The salon is absolutely stunningly beautiful and luxurious and the products they use are top notch. On top of that, you can park in the garage underneath the building. I'll never go to another salon again! This one has it all.

Thank you everyone at salon thalia!! Bruce gave me the best hair color, highlights, new cut, and fashionable style!!! From the second i walked into Salon Thalia, i felt comfortable, relaxed, and my stress went away! My first encounter with the staff at Salon Thalia was making my appt and I could not ask for a nicer receptionist. Little did I know that the courtesy would carry on to the rest of the staff upon my arrival at the salon. I was blown away by the salon's magnifecence in beauty and customer service. I went to Pileggi on the Square prior and they could learn a few things from the staff at Salon Thalia. I got highlights and a cut and it was the best hair style and color I ever received. I would highly recommend Salon Thalia anyone who wants to be treated well and receive a great hair style. Salon Thalia is definitely the hot new salon in Philadelphia!!
