I recently made a 30th birthday party there for my twin sisters. The manager put up all of the decorations I bought, as well as set up the slide show I made. The bartender was quick and the waitstaff was awesome. They even gave us the whole bar for our friends. This was a great experience. In addition, the owner is a nice guy.

I had my birthday party at Stone Creek last month and we rented out the back room. It was great because we were able to have the entire space to ourselves. They paid for a DJ for us and he was willing to play whatever we wanted. The staff was great - very kind and fast. I would definitely reccomend Stone Creek for a private party!

I just moved to the area recently and thought I would give this local place a try. I'm really glad I did. Fantastic Happy hour prices and the bartender was very attentive and cool. I called a couple of friend to meet me there and were able to get comfy on the couches on the stage area. We got some food and had a really fun relaxing time. I'll be back!

One of my freinds told me about Stone Creek ,and one day i decided to check it out .and i was mad at my self that i didn,t know about this place earlier .Cool and quit bar .friendly people .service was quick and great ,i was surprised whith the service that i got ,you know this is new york ,its hard to find this kind of places ,and this kind of service .And the happy hour was amasing and very afortable.I just want to say that i was glad that i found this place .and GUYS KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK .

After reading some of the positive reviews on this site, I decided to have my birthday party at Stone Creek. Being in the Murray Hill area was a big plus since I had friends coming from uptown and downtown. It's easily accesible off the trains and pretty centrally located. The staff did a great job. They were VERY accomodating from the beginning. I booked the party with Jessica(I think she's one of the owner's sisters). She was easy to work with and very responsive. We had the back room to ourselves which was spacious and completely private! Our bartender Victoria was really sweet and quick with the drinks. We ordered some of their passed appetizer plates and all of the food was excellent. They also allowed us to decorate the room and bring our own cake without a cutting fee. The DJ (Caleb) played whatever music my friends and I wanted. All in all it was a great experience and I'm sure my friends and I will be back for more birthday parties in the future!

On Friday afternoon I made a Saturday night dinner reservation for 5 for a friend's birthday and gave my name and phone number. When the birthday girl arrived at the bar on Saturday night at 8:30, she was informed that they had no record of my reservation and that the bar was closing at 9pm! When I showed up shortly thereafter to "discuss" the situation with whom I can only presume was the manager, he was aware that I had a reservation (clearly demonstrating that my friend was initially lied to) but was never given a phone number to call me. Then, after some prodding, the "manager" finally admitted that they were closing down at 9pm on a Saturday because they booked a private party AFTER I had already made my dinner reservation. As consolation for this second rate treatment, we were told that we could stay in the empty bar until 10 for a free drink but no food was available....because that's a classy way to celebrate a friend's birthday, right? To top it all off, in person, the place is shabby looking and definitely does not live up to its pictures on the website. I will never visit this establishment ever again, and discourage anyone else from going here either.

This review is long overdue! I hosted a birthday party for my husband at Stone Creek in January. We had been to the bar once before for a birthday party and I immediately fell in love with it, which is why we made it a point to go back. It is the perfect cross between a bar and lounge!
The owner Jon was an absolute pleasure to deal with during the whole planning phase and did everything he could to accomodate my every request. He was always accessible and even added the DJ for the night which really made the night fabulous! We ended up having between 50 and 60 people so we took up the back room and most of the front of thebar. I was a little nervous at the beginning of the night when the bar was a bit crowded and the back room was occupied by another group. But things turned around very quickly and our guests were able to use the back room/bar and they ended up taking over most of the front bar as well.
The manager Luka (Lukaz?) was very friendly and took care of all our guests. All the bartenders were extremely nice and friendly. Having the DJ was great because you could basically request the music based on what our guests enjoyed and he took every request!
Overall it was a wonderful experience and I would recommend Stone Creek to anyone who is planning a party! We will definitely go back!

I work a few blocks away from Stone Creek and it is my place to unwind. The place has a cozy atmosphere and the bartendars are friendly and attentive. John and Luka are always quick behind the bar (this seems to be becoming a rarity in NY) and have a quick one liner to make me laugh. The food is your typical bar food and is OK but it is even better after a few glasses of wine. Note to the Kitchen - ease up on the salt. My girlfriends and I have made it our afterwork hangout and thought these guys deserved a good word on the Search.

The facts: Had a Saturday night private party for a group of friends in the back room. Our own bar and bartender, bathroom, self-coat check, hi-def TV. Did 3 hour top shelf open bar package and ordered platters of food. First Class all the way.

The review: Owner Jon did a fantastic job of quickly responding to my numerous questions while planning the party, and Manager Luka was responsive and made sure we got exactly what we wanted, when we wanted it. Super location, nice atmosphere, good service, delicious food and great drinks. A real rarity to find a place in Manhattan where they do what they promised. Now I just need an excuse to have another private party at Stone Creek.

Had my brithday party here on 7/26/08. Jon was easy to work with leading up to the event and the staff was amazing the night of. There were NO problems at all during the night... which if you ever had a party w/75 of your closest friends... there is always some sort of issue that pops up. The party went so well that 3 friends have asked for Jon's information so that they can hold their birthday events at the bar later in the year. Besides being a great spot to have a party... its also a wonderful neighborhood bar!

I had been to Stone Creek Bar & Lounge for a drink one night with friends, and since I liked the low key atmosphere and the space, I decided that I wanted to have my birthday party there. When I called the bar to inquire about the space, I was immediately put in touch with the manager, Jon Pirozzi (featured on the Citysearch video clip), with whom I discussed the party details with. Since the back room was already taken, Jon gave me the front of the bar with plush velvet couches and the area surrounding there. There was no charge or paperwork to sign...just a phone call...party planning can't get any easier than this. I did touch base with Jon closer to the party to let him know that I had about 60 people attending, and he assured me that none of my friends will have any problems getting into the bar. Jon was right. My friends got in with no problem. The bar manager for the night of my party, Anuka (sp?) and bouncer Eddie were very friendly, nice and accommodating. They even helped me put up my birthday banners on the walls and arranged the space so nicely for my party. My guests enjoyed the party very much--comfortable seating area, well-priced drinks, DJ that took requests, friendly bartenders and the fact that they can order really good food. Our party eventually took over the entire bar but it never got uncomfortably crowded, with just right amount of people. We ended up staying until they closed. BIG kudos to the staff at Stone Creek Bar & Lounge for a wonderful birthday party. We had a wonderful time. I'm sure that my friends will be planning their parties at the bar in the future!!! Thanks Stone Creek!!!

I just had a reunion of U.N. delegates at Stone Creek. It was fabulous. The guests were all "work related" and Stone Creek's back room was the perfect venue. It was comfortable, as if we were entertaining at home. The staff was very attentive and courteous. We had drinks and appetizer trays of food. Both good, especially the sliders. As the party concluded, some of the guests remained and sat in the bar/lounge area which was also very comfortable. I am so glad that we chose StoneCreek for our reunion. As the organizer, I was able to have fun because the evening was so professionally organized by the Stone Creek staff. It was a great value as well.

Finally had a successful birthday party at this place. The managers (jon & luka) are kind and professional and very attentive to customer needs. I reserved the back room for a party, space was plentiful, party platters were good, also had DVD/CD player & flat screen TV at our disposal.

Would definitely suggest this place not just for happy hour, but for larger parties as well. Definitely a great environment with good people behind the bar & in the kitchen.

Pros: Admirable service, decent happy hour, nice decor and crowd, back room is great for parties.

Cons: Not a lot of room in the front once it gets crowded.

I recently stopped into Stone Creek after moving to the neighborhood and I'm proud to say I've found my new local. The copper top bar caught my eye from the street so I decided to pop in for a quick one. Once I sat down I immediately felt comfortable. The bartender Luka was friendly and fast with his service and I met a couple that fequents Stone Creek. They had a good selection of beers and an interesting cocktail list. I decided to try some food and the couple recomended the sliders and nachos and both were great! I've been back a few times since, I usually stop in on my way out, or for one last nightcap. Stone Creek has a great vibe and I'm psyched it's so local to my apartment. I definitely recommend stopping by but in some ways I hope this little spot stays un-noticed on it's side street so it doesn't get to packed like the rest of the 3rd Avenue bars in the neighborhood.

I went to Stone Creek last night, and it was just "okay"... I knew what it was going to be like before I'd gotten there, as their website photos are pretty much exactly what it looks like. I guess I just thought it was a little boring! It really does look like a bar you would see on the inside of pottery barn. There is no real decoration at all, and it feels like someone's living room, which I guess would be okay if that is what you were looking for. It was just a little lame. The drinks were okay, but definitely overpriced and nothing spectacular...I'm thinking these bartenders are fresh out of mixology school. I'm a person that will pay good money for a well-made martini, and these just were missing the mark. I actually really did like the food; I think my favorites were the mini burgers, guac/pico de gallo chip platter, and the cordon blue bites. Overall, I'd give this place a 6 out of 10.

I left a phone message in advance with a reservation for 6, but I explained that there might be more or fewer. No problem. When we got there, we rudely interrupted a private party in the back room. Fortunately, the people at the party were nice and friendly (must've been out of towners!) and we took our leave. Back in the front room, our waitress cleared another table for us. And the four.... five.... six... and on it went... sat down.
John, the bar owner came by and introduced himself. He was friendly as a lost kitten. As the night progressed, he moved us to a more comfortable table, and even bought us a load of chicken nachos. (The food is just so so bar food, but you won't care.) The night ended with a reasonable twenty something (each) bill-- and a lot of fun.

I had my birthday party at Stone Creek recently and me and my friends had a great time. We were able to hook up our IPOD in the back rooom and had the space to ourselves. We were initially concerened if there would be enough room in the space, but we were able to easily fit our group of 50+. The owner and manager were very helpful in making sure everything went smoothly. They set up a back bar for us and the bartender was fast and friendly. A lot of my friends were very complimentary of the party and were looking forward to hosting their birthdays at Stone Creek!

I recently had my birthday party at Stone Creek and we all had a great time. We rented out the back room and had it exclusively to ourselves. The fact that we could bring our own IPOD in was a great thing because my friends and I danced the whole time. I was recently referred to Stone Creek by a friend of mine who has brought several dates there. He was quite accurate in that this was a quiet spot with a great ambiance and perfect for a date. My date and I could engage in conversation without having to yell over music or be bumped into all the time by other people, which was a great upgrade from some of the other Murray Hill bars I've had dates at before. They have a nice little cocktail list and some quality finger foods. Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend it for a great date spot.

I made a reservation for a table for 10 people at 10:30 two saturdays ago. We showed up at 10:35 and not only did the place not look anything like the picture, but the entire space was taken up by a trivia challenge. There was no table for us and no one could tell us when there would be one. I did not make a reservation for a Manhattan lounge on a Saturday night to sit in what looks like someones living room and play trivia games. The owner was somewhat accommodating. He was able to get my group a table at a bar a few blocks away. Luckily I wasn't meeting a larger group for a birthday or anything.

I moved into the murray hill neighborhood about 18months ago... knowing the area previous and a few spots I go to regularly, I was directed to meet up with some friends one night at Stone Creek (27th between Lex and 3rd). Facts are simple... I loved the place and now being a regular there for over a year, I would recomend going there to anyone. The place is not huge or anything but if you are looking for a nice drink after work, meet up with friends, or perhaps meet some new friends...it has been many things to me, all good. There is space in the back room for private parties, corporate functions, sporting events and great food. The people who run the bar are very accessable and always try to make sure all their customers are enjoying themselves. Stone Creek is, in my opinion, a well kept secret spot in murray hill....drinks, food, friends and of course FUN

Everywhere I've lived I always had my local hangout where I could go have a drink, chill with my friends, watch a game. Being new to NYC it was hard to find a spot I felt comfortable. Then a friend introduced me to "The Creek," it was exactly what I was looking for. It's comfortable, welcoming and the Sliders are the bomb! I can always catch my favorite game on the flat screens and the jukebox has great tunes. So if you're looking for a great place to hangout, check out "The Creek."

I recently was looking for a nice date spot in Murray Hill. Someone recommended Stone Creek because it was off the beaten path a bit and I would be able to avoid the 3rd Avenue mayhem. So I decided to give it a shot and found it to be the perfect spot. The decor and service were great, but most importantly it wasn't a crowded disaster and I could comfortably converse with my date. The music wasn't to loud, and they have a sweet jukebox. The food wasn't to pricey and had just the right portion amount to fill you, but not stuff you. Our bartender was very interactive and entertaining and I'm so glad my friend recommended this cute spot as I now have my Murray Hill date place. If you haven't been, give it a shot, I'm sure you won't be dissapointed!

Me and my girlfriends were there for NYE and had a blast! The entire space had been decorated and set-up for our group (125 guests). We all had plenty of room and the staff were pouring them quick & stiff! They had a DJ for the night who did a great job of balancing our requests with keeping the party going. I had been to Stone Creek before NYE and the staff were just as good and the crowd layed back and pleasant, (come with your group and take over the back--great seating!). Hope this is helpful!

This bar reserved the wrong room for my b?day after I visited with the manager in person a month prior and confirmed via email several days before the party. Instead of holding a room for 50 people, I was given a space to fit 7-10 people. I had to place a sign on the front door to reroute party guests 10 blocks away. The only positive experience was realizing as I was leaving that the clientele was bunch of obnoxious stiffs who couldn?t hold their liquor. I guess it was a blessing that I didn?t have to spend the next 4 hours with them.

Stone Creek is my golden nugget find! I found the place walking back from a restaurant a block away and have been going back ever since. The Creek is my "go to" place, period. Staff is exceptional, the environment very welcoming....just a comforable place for any occasion. And, you HAVE to have the sliders!! And the back room has been fantastic for surprise events of all types......check out the Creek....if you do, you'll go back....

Im half-way hesitant to write this review as I dont want the whole world to descend upon this perfect spot. Stone creek fills the void between the cheesy club scene and the snotty lounge acts. It is a perfect balance. You can get a perfectly-made drink and tasty nibbles (try them, youll be surprised how good they are), all amongst all fun, but not college-aged crowd. And the bartenders are great. The music is always right on target. Try the back room for a birthday get together (call in advance as it can be crowded). There is also a nice, usually-quiet front area where you can enjoy the air and a more subdued conversation.

I recently had my birthday party in the back room of Stone Creek and I couldn't have had a better time. The staff treated me like royalty, the food was great, and all of my friends and I stayed the whole night. They allowed me to bring my own IPOD in and play whatever music we liked and they gave us several complimentary shots. The back room is especially great because it has it's own bar and bathroom and allows for complete privacy. I highly recommend this establisment for anyone looking to have a private party. After being a resident of Murry Hill for 5 years, there finally is now a neigborhood bar where I can relax for a drink after work or stop in late night for one last cocktail. With the comfortable atmosphere and great service, my friends and I sometimes find ourselves staying the whole night. The crowd is mostly young professionals, with the bartenders always ready with a drink. I highly recommend the cozy back lounge for parties and events, complete with it's own bar, music and private setting. And the kitchen is always open, especially for the late-night snack!

Wow!!!! What a great place to take your girl or a first date for a drink!!! Its a great combination between a lounge/bar with great bar tenders and great local flare. I stopped in for a drink and ended up dancing in the back room all night meeting all different types of friendly people... The DJ played some great music that ranged from hip-hop to some 80's.. it was all good. Drinks are great and well priced.. Going to make it a point to stop there for happy hour where a couple of dudes mentioned that models from around the area get a quick cosmo there.

Talk about a comfortable, upbeat atmosphere! The social scene is on fire. Every time I come here, it gets better. The staff rocks - very attentive and the owners are friendly, accommodating and hot!
You can get a good drink anywhere so why not make it at a place where there is a guaranteed great time.
You are missing out if you haven't been to Stone Creek. It's a great place to meet people. Rumor has it that several happy couples have met eachother at the Creek!

Me and a girlfriend had a joint birthday in their backroom and had so much fun; private back bar, our own party mix on my IPod and plenty of room for our crew. The staff did a great job of making sure we were comfortable and helped with serving the B-Day cakes and all that stuff.

Stone Creek is Murray Hills best-kept secret. The atmosphere and decor is very inviting and comfortable. They have this great back room with a private bar and ipod hook ups so you can jam to your own music with your friends. Their happy hour is a lot of fun and very cheap.
The best thing about Stone Creek is defiantly the staff. The bartenders are very personable and talented. The owners are very hands-on, personable, and will always hang out and have a beer with you. The moment you walk in this place you know that it will be your new favorite watering hole.

Stone Creek was just the different type of spot I was searching for one evening in pursuit of a relaxed bite to eat at an inexpensive but upscale lounge. Post Modern with a very comfortable and mesmerizing decor and sophisicated atmosphere greets all guests; the service is genuinely friendly encouraging future visits.
This trendy lounge offers eclectic and tasty morsels combined with a great beer selection. The copper clad bar and flat panel TV really adds to the enjoyment...you'd want to move the whole setting into your apartment when throwing a party.In fact you can do just that in the private back room which is available for up to 50 guests or so.
Stone Creek seduces one to return with its unpretentious and warmly inviting congenial atmosphere, I'm glad I found a new welcoming haunt.
