Was at Iggy's the other night with a small group. Very lively, had a great time. They definitely know how to do it. Have found a new place to go in Manhattan

Wow! Great spot to hang out, watch a game, or wait for the karaoke to start. I came for a few brews with my girlfriend and ended up hanging out all night. The bar is very inviting and the bartender mentioned Iggy's had remodeled recently.

Showed up at 11pm, Place was pretty packed with 35 year olds and up. Thinned out really quickly until there was about only 30 people in there. I put up a song at 11pm and waited thinking that since it was so empty I might get to sing in the 2 hours I was there. I go up to ask how many songs I was away from singing because I wanted to have a smoke and didn't want to miss it. The woman running the Karaoke immediately had an attitude and told me that I was 32 songs away. I had put my song up 2 hours ago and 32 songs is like another 3 hour wait. I went to tell my friends that we should go and they were upset as well. I went up to get my money and told the beastly woman running the show that she should give other people a chance to sing since I saw the same guy sing 10 times while I was there and I hadn't sung once. She cut me off and said ""I DON'T CARE! ITS MY BIRTHDAY AND IM DRUNK!"" Then she smiled at me. I told her I know you don't care, asked for my money and left. I will never go back to that bar and neither will any of my friends since I told them what happened.

Crappy and overpriced too! My friend got charged 70 dollars for 4 bud lights and 2 shots. Every time we ordered the price was different like they where just making it up each time. Also it very smelly like puke. I will not return. BOOOO

I held a surprise Birthday party for my sister here on a Friday night and it was AMAZING! I set it up only a few days in advance with the owner, Iggy. He re-assured me that everything would be perfect and it was! They let us go there in the afternoon the day of the party and decorate, the bartenders were awesome and kept the drinks coming. We did the open bar for 3 hours at $35 each ; ) We ordered mixed platters of food too, which were delicious! Everyone keeps telling me how much fun they had and we will certainly be going back!

Cons: What are the drawbacks?

The first time I went here, I felt like I had found the Fountain of Youth or the Ark of the Covenant, I had one of the best bar experiences I have ever had in Manhattan. Iggy was there and he was cool, friendly, and right away made my friends and I feel like we were home. The bartenders were great, too. The special was a pint and a shot for $6. I figured there has to be some sort of limit on what kind of shot you could take during this deal, but the bartender gave us the deal and served us whatever we wanted, not just cheap well liquor, but Jack, Patron, etc. A pint and a shot of Patron for $6? We were in heaven. Then we rocked the karaoke (after enough of those cheap shots) and had one of the best nights ever at an Upper east Side bar. Then I went back a second time... It was my friend and me, we were barhopping so we weren't going to be there all night, I started a tab, we both had two pints, the total should have been about $20 or so. When I went to close out, my tab was $56. The bartender gave me someone else's tab. When I pointed this out he tried telling me I had ordered shots, I hadn't. He finally ran the tab that was actually mine, but when I checked my bank statement, the next day, he hadn't canceled the other one, so he charged me $56 for someone else's drinks and then $20, $76 before tip for 4 pints of domestic. So that did not make me happy, but I feel that the time I had before that was so positive I will go again, except next time I will pay in cash! I suggest you do the same.

Pros: Fun Atmosphere, Cheap Drinks, and Karaoke

Cons: You may end up paying for someone else's drinks

Iggy's is a fun dive with a great set-up for karaoke. Certainly not a high-brow venue by any stretch but a fun place with a laid-back crowd, friendly staff, and reasonably priced drinks. The decor (especially the entrance) is decidedly vintage, a throwback to New York's wilder and more carefree days. The few fools posting negative reviews about Iggy's here are either snobs expecting something more upscale in the Upper East Side or more likely people incapable of grasping the concept of first come, first serve in regard to karaoke. Iggy's gets packed on the weekends and when the entire bar is waiting to sing you can't expect to be on stage ten minutes after you walk in. The DJ isn't going to bend over backwards to accomodate you. Wait your turn like everyone else or come earlier when it's less crowded if you want to sing so badly.

Pros: Affordable, Great Karaoke, Friendly Staff, Good Crowd

Cons: Gets Crowded At Times, Occassionally Long Waits for Karaoke (Live it with you tools)

.

this place is very unique. watching people having a good time and doing karaoke is quite the experience at Iggy's. the people that work there do a great job keeping the party going. the food there is very, very good. its not the usual greasy bar food, it was very good. overall a very good experience.

Whether you go for the karaoke, the food (try the Bison Burger!), the great drink specials (perfect for loosening up those vocal chords), or just to hang out with some good friends, Iggy's is ALWAYS a positive place. Iggy, himself, is a genuine and positive chap, whose infectious attitude has clearly made it's mark on the rest of the staff. \r
\r
Perhaps it is because of this atmosphere, that Iggy's also tends to draw a great crowd no matter which night you visit. The crowd varies from college students, after-work hipsters, scraggly regulars who have never left in 13 years, 20 and 30 somethings out for a good time, and birthday parties. The crowd tends to be multicultural as well. The unique mix of people, all of whom are willing to shake it to the music of karaoke, lends to an awesome night out, where you are bound to have a good time no matter who you are.

I had a party at Iggys last night for a friends birthday. I came almost an hour early to set up and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Once 11pm came, everyone was having a great time, yet it took a very long time to get our drinks (maybe next time there should have been 2 waitresses to handle 4 large parties because 1 took 20min to get drinks, but I understand she tried her hardest.) The owner Iggy even came over and bought me and the birthday girl a drink. Around 1-1:30am everyone who had a tab was closing them out and there was an altercation between my friend and the waitress because my friend said that Iggy offered to buy one of the rounds of shots that my friend ordered (he ordered a few rounds shots, 10 at a time), so when the waitress gave him his tab, he let her know that Iggy offered to buy one of the rounds. The waitress said he did not approve this and it ended up in a small argument that put a damper on the end of the night. Then after we all left I was waiting outside for a friend and a few members of my party told me that the waitress wanted to see me. I went back in and she told me that she only made 20$ from my whole party, so I gave her more money and apologized. Then when i returned outside to my friends they all were shocked. One tipped her 50$, another gave her 40$, and another gave her 10$ on a 20$ tab. These were only 3 in my party who said that, so i can't imagine that the other 10 people didn't tip her either. So the waitress clearly lied somewhere which is so shady. But then again, many people in my party got drinks from the bar because it took over 20minutes to get a drink from the waitress in charge of the parties. Overall the night was fun and everyone had a great time, yet next time I would book a table for a party and then get all my drinks from the bar because the waitress was slow, lacked customer service, and may have been lying to me to score a larger tip then she got, but she made out VERY well last night.

Cons: Slow drink service for parties/ shady waitress

Came to Iggy's with a group of friends as we were on the Upper East lookin for a few drinks. By the end of the night, we had so much fun singing so many songs in karaoke. The back room was really huge and made it very comfortable to enjoy yourself.\r
\r
I am going to be planning an upcoming party there for my office after meeting Iggy the owner who was just as great as his place!

Owner promotes his bar as a place where people can earn cash for their charitable endeavors. No dice. He is actually more about dissing his customers when they ""complain""... meaning if their order doesn't come in 40 minutes. I mean -- I actually got a lecutre at the bar for this. Don't go here. It's a small, loud, hole in the wall with bad wine and beer.

Some friends and I just hosted an unconventional baby shower at Iggy?s recently and it was a huge success. It is a fun atmosphere the staff was very friendly and helpful and Iggy, the owner is a riot, very energetic. He was very welcoming and easy to work with when planning our event. It was no problem when we wanted to add a few personalized theme decorations for the room. Not that you need to, the room is quite festive on its own. There was plenty of space for people to chat, sing and dance if the spirit moved them. The food was really good, and they were able to have healthy options. Many of the guests commented that it was a really fun party, so we came across as party planning superstars, but that was mainly due to Iggy and his staff. So a big thank you goes out to them.

A huge thanks to Kathy for coordinating the event for Guan's 30th Surprise Birthday!! I was searching for a location for a quite a while because not many private event spots can offer food, drinks and most importantly, entertainment. Therefore, Iggy's superb karaoke feature was a big plus to the fantastic drinks and food that was provided. \r
Everythinng was very well-organized with the help of the staff. The customer service provided was beyond excellent. It was so fun that our group did not even know how much time has passed. I will be recommending this place to all of my friends who wants to have a good time. Once again, we all had a HUGE blast so I just want to say: thank you, Iggy's!!! \r

Nothing for Nothing but what's all the hype about paying a dollar to sing a song? I can't believe there is actually a person complaining about paying a lousy buck to sing a karaoke song!!! All that money is donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Foundation, it's all for charity! Can't there be peace in this world? Can't people help to make a difference? I think it's a wonderful idea being able to have this in place to be able to give back to community and help those less fortunate stricken by this tragic disease. Enough with the rude comments, keep your buck and keep them to yourselves - the real patrons of Iggy's are very proud to be apart of this wonderful fundraiser currently in place, no one is asking for a kidney- just a buck to help with research to donate to a wonderful cause. My friend was diagnosed with lymphoma and I've seen so many children stricken with leukemia at the Ronald McDonald House down the street, shame on you for your bad comments, you should be grateful that this didn't happen to you or someone you love. Open your eyes to what this world is really about! It's about helping your fellow man, going the extra mile, standing tall and being strong, sharing the love, doing whatever you can to make a difference. By donating a lousy buck, believe it or not, it makes a difference, even more so when it is straight from the heart, if you don't feel that way don't participate, that's all, only a coward posts negative reviews fully knowing what the collection of the dollar is really collected for, shame on you, you can't participate fine, statements like that make one summarize those negative thoughts in one word: Carefree - Definitely not my cup of tea. Can't walk in to the joint at 1 am and expect that there are no other songs put in that other people are waiting their turn to sing too. If you got there earlier you wouldn't have that problem at all.

I don't usually find myself on the Upper East side on a Saturday night, but my friend was having a birthday party at a karaoke bar there. Now I have been to my fair share of bad karaoke bars, so I guess thats why I wasn't so excited about the theme of his birthday celebration. But BOY WAS I WRONG!! Upon entering Iggy's Karaoke bar it was totally packed! After a singer was finished, good or bad the crowd went wild! I have never seen anything like it! The hot DJ played really good music in between singers and kept the girls dancing. It was by far the best party I have ever been to! And then to see your friends get up there and make fools of themselves was just the icing on the cake. Two words: Camera-phone, and YouTube!!! An unforgettable night..you will def see me there again!\r

A bunch of friends and I went for a birthday on a Saturday night. Iggy himself was extremely nice and helped us grab a table even though we didn't have reservations. Other than that, I was very unhappy with the experience. The cocktail waitress commented as soon as we sat down that we should be mindful that she made all of her money off tips - this is nothing new in NYC, and I found it to be pretty rude. The karaoke DJ was Brooke - it seemed that she had clear favorites, and I found her to be rude as well. Not to mention that I put my songs in, waited for 3 hours, and then wound up leaving without having a chance to sing. It may not have been such a big deal if I hadn't had to pay for each song I submitted. Not sure if they do this all the time, but the DJ also played an ENTIRE song in between every karaoke, which is a complete waste of time. Not sure why they didn't try to move it along quicker if there was such a long wait to begin with.\r
\r
I definitely won't go there again - there are plenty of great dives with karaoke where they don't make you pay by the song, and where they give everyone a chance to get up on stage.

Way to much of a college, vibe and not in a cool way. No coat check, bathrooms with view of the main area (gross) karaoke as well as strange american pie esque contests, such as "" go the batroom, cut ur pubes and wear them as a fake moustuche with a piece of scotch tape, i dont find this appealing at all. When i asked for the coat check a girl pointed to a pile of coats near the stage, again not my thing....drinks are alright, place is packed almost everynight, the only downside is you have to wait a REALLY long time

I recently had my birthday party at Iggy's. We had such an awesome time! Iggy and his wonderful staff took great care of me and all my friends. The karaoke was so much fun and the pizza was delicious! I would totally reccommend having your party here - I can't wait to go back soon!!

We hosted a private party for 100 people at Iggy's and it was the best party of the year! Iggy himself is an incredible host and did an amazing job ensuring that our party was flawless. The drinks were great, the food delicious and the service could not have been more accomodating. The karaoke was by far the best we've ever done and the dj's did an excellent job. Everyone agreed this was the best party and Iggy's is the best place to host a wonderfully fun event. Thank you Iggy!!!

Pros: Long bar, great fun, great karaoke

Since when have you paid for each song you request to sing at a karaoke bar? Is this some way for the guy who runs the karaoke to pocket some easy cash? Then, he shuffles the songs, not calling people in order of their requests, and you wait hours to sing your one song while the 'favorites' of the karaoke guy sing several songs a piece. And, in the end, he pockets the money you've given him to sing a song you never get to sing. He outright lies and denies that he shuffling the songs, when many people witnessed him doing just that.

Overall, could be a fun place for karaoke, but NOT WORTH IT.

I love this place! I have been a regular now for 5 months and will be for life. The bartenders are great ( Peter makes the best drinks). Matt (sunday DJ) is the best. Iggy himself is such a ham its great. Newly freshened up interior. Drinks are good for the money especially for the Upper e. side. Can't express how great of a bar this is . Karaoke 7 days a week.

I've been going to Iggy's for years to satisfy my karaoke jones. Iggy's is a dive in the best sense of the word, and, in my opinion, the absolute best place to sing karaoke in the city. They have karaoke every night starting at about 10:30. The bartenders are great (and always take a quick break to sing a ditty or two), and the prices are pretty good (for the Upper East side). The crowd always seems to be a nice mix of regulars and first-timers. So....if you're ever sitting at dinner, or at another bar and someone says ""let's go sing karaoke""...run to Iggy's

Came here after looking online for a kareoke place, but nothing too fancy. This was exactly it. Decent drinks/average price, drunk yet fun crowd singing along to people who truly can't sing, thus making it for a very interesting evening. The MC was obnoxious, like any good MC should be, humorous between singers... and you could dress anyway you want, casual and even saw people there in tuxedos (came from a formal affair). I'd go back, and might even sing this time.
