Tasty Ribs
This is our favorite place for ribs. They are fresh and tasty. The portions are large, the environment is nice and the service is great! I live nearby and every once in a while the barbecue smoke comes my way. Yummy!

Great service
I don't know where all these complaints about staff are coming from because our experience was great!! Not only were we greeted well by the hostess but our server was quick to help us with a smile. Although it seemed to be busy while we were there the food came out in a reasonable time and our serever checked on us multiple times to see if we were ok. The only distraction came from the singer in the lounge in the next room. The music was much too loud and the songs seemed repetetive. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced for how much we got. Our waitress was very personable and polite and seemed like she was actually glad to be our waitress. All those complaints on service are very unfounded as the whole staff was great. We will definitely be coming back for the food and service
Pros: waitstaff and food
Cons: loud lounge music

good food, not so good service
While they have got good food and large portions at fair prices, the service is terrible. We've seen some improvements since new manager came on board, but they still have a ways to go. "Lucky" us, we have gotten the same waiter every visit - very friendly, cordial guy who waits for the busboy to deliver food and drink refills before coming around to "see if we need anything". And that's on a good night. If they're busy we don't see him until it's time to bring us the bill. The busboys we've had have given us pretty good service considering it's not their job. The only reason we've gone back is because of the entertainer in the bar - unfortunately she's only there on Friday nights. The place has great potential, if the manager can make some "attitude" adjustments with some of the staff!

Our New FAV Rib Joint!
We recently started going to Rib Trader just in the last few months. We're big rib lovers, and we're always looking for new rib joints to try. We heard about Rib Trader from some friends who live in Orange ~ actually right behind the restaurant. It was a little difficult to see from the street since it's behind the Ralphs market, but we still found it. To be honest, our friends gave us a friendly warning that they hadn't been to the Rib Trader in a few years, and they remembered it being good sometimes and not so good sometimes.
We figured ~ what the heck - let's go anyways, since we were nearby. When we walked in we were immediately greeted and seated - the hostess was very sweet. It was interesting because the manager who happened to be in the room, came over and greeted us, too...what a very pleasant surprise! She was so happy to see us and was very gracious...again, a great surprise...I don't think we've had a manager come to our table before unless it was to handle a complaint ~ what a switch. If this place is smart, they won't ever let her leave!
Our server was at our table right away to take our drink order ~ obviously trained by the manager, because she was just as pleasant! While we waited a few minutes for our drinks, deciding what to order, they brought out some really tasty cornbread! I tell you, his place is full of surprises!
We started off with the sampler platter (which is my favorite now), and then I had the rib sampler and my husband had the primerib sandwhich. I really should have only ordered the sampler platter, because I was so full by the time my main course came out! The ribs were really good ~ not too saucy ~ I liked the beef ribs the best!
We are going to make our next meal at the Rib Trader on the weekend, because they told us they now have really good entertainment. Gosh ~ Great entertainment... great food.. affordable prices...super friendly service...that's it ~ we found our FAVORITE Rib Joint!
Pros: food, service, entertainment, prices

Rib Trader ranks at top of our list
Rib Trader restaurant has The best food from their baby back ribs to BBQ chicken, onion rings, corn bread Baja Shrimp. The service is so friendly . The atmosphere is like a Safari jungle theme. The bartender Jim is very personable and attentive. The portions were large so I couldn't fit a dessert in .
Go to Rib Trader for a great meal! That's all I can say!! Without a doubt our favorite restaurant in Orange County.
Pros: food, service, anbience, prices
Cons: no reservations

Terrible Steak and Worse Service!! Ran out of Prime Rib (their speciality) at 7:00 PM on a Saturday!!
I've driven by this restaurant on the way to Ralphs (next door) for many years and always thought I should check it out. Finally showed up a few weeks ago with my wife with a definite hankering for a juicy prime rib (well advertised as their speciality).
Upon arrival I was immediately seated and order the Prime rib special for the wife and I. A full 45 minutes later the waiter comes by to tell us that they've RUN OUT!! 45 minutes?! He offered me a discount on an alternative. So I ordered a Rib-Eye cut. It's hard to ruin a rib-eye, but they managed. The steak arrive 20 minutes later (when you should only cook it about 2 minutes a side), and discovered that it was completely un-chewable (even though I had ordered it medium rare).
My wife mentioned "Honey, you cook a better rib-eye than this." Have to admit it's true. Salt, Pepper, 2 minutes on each side. DONE! How they ruined it is not clear. Perhaps the kitchen staff is in mutiny? Dunno...
I'll never go back and I recommend that all avoid the nasty little place in perpetuity...
Pros: None
Cons: The decor is old and literally covered with dust. Service is SLOW and food stock LIMITED.
