Awesome 5 Star Rating - World class

I have only been there once, but I plan on going back again and again. I went last week for microdermabrasion and a peel. I got a lot for my money and the staff was great. I have major skin problems such as clogged and enlarged pores and acne. I've only had one treatment and I noticed a major difference. I highly recommend this spa.

Pros: You get great service and extras for a lot less compared to other spas.
Cons: They do try to sell you additional products, but they aren't pushy.

Gets Results 4 Star Rating - Very good

Before going to Essentials, I had never had a facial. I didn't have major acne, but I wanted to take care of some blackheads on my forehead and nose that I couldn't get rid of with over the counter products. I went to Essentials for the first time in December 2007 for a facial that was advertised for $40. I ended up leaving with a package for 5 more facials and a ton of very expensive product. At first I walked out feeling like I was crazy to spend so much more money than I originally planned, but after seeing how much clearer and brighter my skin looked, I knew I made the right choice. What really hooked me was when I ran out of the product and went back to using the over the counter stuff, the blackheads came back right away. I will admit that they do push you to purchase more, but you just have to know what you want and be firm. I have had a couple of facials already and I only need to go once every couple of months, as long as I follow my skincare regimen at home. I recommend Madeline. She's knowlegdable, efficient and friendly.

Pros: Ambience and Service
Cons: Expensive Product

Cheap pricing, inconsistent service, persistently pushing products 3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

I went there for a facial and was really happy with the service. (Maybe because they want to reel you in). I was asked if I want to buy a package of 6 treatments and I agreed because it was a good deal. Just be aware that during facial they will asked you if you want to purchase additional service for example cold cream to put on your face for additional charge and you can say no. I try several different girls and some are better than others but there is this one girl I hate. Unfortunately I can't remember her name. She persistently pushed products to me and ended buying them and regretting it. I returned some of them on my next visit which happen to be my sixth and never return ever since. My advice is you can try them because they service are not that bad but just be strong not to fall prey on anything ang everything they push you to buy.

Pros: Cheap
Cons: inconsistent service, persistently try to sell you stuff

Right place for acne and scar treatment, recommend it. 5 Star Rating - World class

I started to come for facial treatments at Essential Skin Care in April 07. I have to say, my acne problem bothered me for a very long time and I could never find something, or some treatments that would really solve this problem util I came here. After only 2 treatments my acne were all gone and I could start doing microdermabrasion starting the 3rd visit to treat my acne scars. Two more sessions down, my skin looks radiant and I haven't even finish my package yet. Essential Skin Care really solved my skin problem. THANK YOU!

Pros: Excellent extraction, patient service.

Essential Skin Care v.s. My Educated Guess 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

I came across the Essential Skin Care after leaving the office of a licensed Dermatologist and ventured in out of curiosity. I asked the receptionist about treatments for acne scars and she quickly suggested micro-dermabrasion. Through her broken English she suggested a complete package of approx. 6 laser treatments to even out my skins' scars. I was very surprised at the prices esp. because I'd just priced the same treatment for thousands of dollars at a doctors office. This place was obviously not run by doctors. I've done much research on the effects of dermabrasion on dark skin and it's NEVER recommended but she said it wouldn't be a problem. Micro dermabrasion can leave dark skin discolored and blotchy. Red flags and my gut feeling says not to risk it. After she again attempted to sell products I asked for an exfoliation mask and she sells me a 'wash'. I leave with their business card in hand but uneasy feeling inside. I use wash at home and find the harsh micro beeds in their exfoliating creme scraping my face. If anything using it will damage my face but I will show it to my professional and lisenced Dermatologist next week. After reading the other reviews I'm glad I wasn't willing to save money on a laser treatment that in the long term may leave me looking worse . My suggestion in this and any case is to do as much research on a clinic/doctor or product before investing your money or risking your health or saftey.

Pros: Your inexpensive quick fix may result in permanent damage.
Cons: No Educated or Highly Qualified Specialist on staff.
