I live in New York. I called Marcel Florist To have Flowers delivered to my Sister. She recently moved to downtown Chicago. The Telephone Person was very pleasant and helpful. They had the specific flowers in stock that I was looking for. My sister called to thank me and said the flowers were beautiful. She called a week later and said the flowers were still alive and looked fresh and beautiful. Marcel Florist did a great job with my flowers. I will use them again.

For my birthday three weeks ago, my mom ordered a lavender daisy arrangement that came with dry and crispy lilacs, wilted mums, no daisies, and cloudy water. After calling to complain about the arrangement, I had a really negative experience with the florist, who was quite rude to me. Later that day, he called to apologize and promised a replacement arrangement the following week. After a number of phone call reminders and three weeks later, I finally received the replacement arrangement. The flowers are fresh and vibrant and the water is clear. There are still no daisies, my favorite, but I give the florist credit for making a nice substitution in light of the recent apparent daisy shortage.

Pros: The florist will eventually honor the satisfaction guarantee with beautiful, vibrant flowers

Cons: When your first set of flowers arrive wilted and dead, you'll have to deal with Marcel.

I needed a spectacular flower arrangement for a close friend that lives at an exclusive building in downtown Chicago. I called Marcel Florist ? A Chicago Florist and was greeted by a Very Friendly and Professional sounding gentleman. I explained that my friend was having a dinner party with some of Chicago?s most elite citizens in attendance. The gentleman told me not to worry, Marcel Florist works with all of the downtown Chicago?s hotels, and that many of It?s clients are part of Chicago?s wealthy and famous. It was 4:00 PM and I needed the flowers delivered the same day. The gentleman told me not to worry, they could still do the arrangement and get it there fast with their Priority Delivery Service. At 5:10 PM, 1 hour and 10 minutes later, the same gentleman called me to tell me that the arrangement was delivered and signed for by my friend. Calling with Delivery Confirmation is Part of the Priority Delivery Service. My friend called Later that night, and told me the flowers were the most beautiful she had ever received, ant that many of the guest commented on the how beautiful they were. She said that I shouldn?t have done this, and that I must have spent a fortune on them. (They were very reasonably priced, and I had not spent a fortune on them.) She said that she was going to start using Marcel Florist, and that many of her guests were going to try them too. I love Marcel Florist ? They are the BEST!

I called Marcel Florist - A Chicago Florist on February 13, 2008 to Order Flowers For Valentines Day. I have used Marcel Florist - A Chicago Florist, in the past and have always been amazed by their personal service, fresh flowers and speedy delivery upgrades. I spoke with a wonderful person and placed my order - making sure that I upgraded the delivery to Priority Delivery. The flowers arrived at 9:00 am on Valentines Day and were exactly what I ordered! I LOVE MARCEL FLORIST, A CHICAGO FLORIST!

I ordered flowers for my partner for Valentines Day from Marcel's with 48 hours notice. When I saw my partner that evening after work he said nothing about receiving the flowers so I asked him. He told me that he left work at 5:30 pm and had not received them. I called the florist at 6:30 p.m. and was told that if I gave them a residential address that they would deilver an order directly. The man stated that they had not been in contact with the driver and he could not state what had happened. The flowers arrived at 9:38 p.m. and I only live 15 blocks from the florist location. Receiving flowers on Valentine's Day at 10:00 pm before bed is no way to celebrate Valentine's Day.
When I called the next day to complain, I was told by the owner that order should have been cancelled by his staff when I called. He refused to give me a full refund even though his website claims a 100% satisfaction guarantee and that all business deliveries are made before residential. How did that take until after 5:30 pm when he had the order 2 days in advance.
I am having the credit card company stop the charge to Marcel's and have filed a complaint with the Illinois Attorney General's Office.
Any time there has been a bad review, Marcel gets defensive and writes a company response to the review. Maybe he should spend more time honoring his guarantee and training his employees rather than posting defensive replys to honest criticism.

I ordered flowers From A Chicago Florist - Marcel Florist and was surprised at how easy the professional customer service representative made it. I needed the flowers delivered at a specific time, and to my surprise - and unlike other florist - I was able to have the flowers delivered at that exact time with their delivery upgrade - timed delivery. The flowers were delivered at 6:00 pm sharp, as I requested. The flowers were beautiful and lasted for 10 days. I am very pleased with the arrangement that was delivered and everything involved with the order. Thank you Marcel!

I needed flowers fast. I called Marcel Florist at 3:00 pm and asked the friendly young woman that answered the phone if she could get flowers to a downtown location by 4:30 pm. She told me what I wanted to hear ?????? YES! She told me that Marcel Florist offers a Delivery Service called Priority Delivery, and that the service could get the flowers there with a Two Hour time period, because of the close proximity to their location that I was sending them to, they could get them there by 4:30 pm with no problems. At 3:50 pm the thoughtful young lady called me to tell me that the flowers were delivered, and signed for at 3:45 pm by my Business Associate. Calling to give delivery details was included in the Priority Delivery Service. Shortly after that, My Business Associate called to thank me for the gift. She said the flowers were beautiful and fresh. I spoke with her again 5 days later. She told me that the flowers still looked fresh and beautiful. She could not believe how fresh they were. She said that she would use Marcel Florist for her floral gifts as well. I am very happy and Satisfied with the Service and the flowers from my Chicago Florist - Marcel Florist.

THEY WERE RUDE. I WAS NOT HOME WHEN THEY DELIVERED, SO THEY LEFT IT AT A HOUSE DOWN THE BLOCK.....WITH A MAN i DON'T KNOW......AND NO CONTACT INFORMATION. IThey wouldn't refund the sender either, which I thought they should since I will never see the present."

I actually wanted to offer a nice surprise for my Girlfriends Bday but have been so disappointed that I actually took the time to sign up and post this review regarding the arrangement delivered to her. Via the web it looked great but low and behold $65 dollars after the transaction there was nothing but the sting of resentment and a lingering feeling of being taken once I saw what Marcel's florist delivered to her at her place of business. Concept was good enough to commit but the follow through was lacking.

arcel Florists appeal is more than a bunch of pretty roses. When I visited Marcel, I received personalized advice and attention. As a flower shopping novice, I greatly appreciated this high level of service, which made the experience easy and enjoyable.

My grandmothers favorite flower was the orchid. When she passed away this summer, I was assigned the task of ordering orchids to decorate her funeral service. I was tipped off by my co-worker that Marcel Florist has an outstanding selection; Chicagos finest, to be exact. So I called up and ordered a vast array of colorful orchids, which filled the church with hope. My grandpa actually cried when he saw them. He said that they were as beautiful as grandmas beloved orchid garden, and that she was smiling down from heaven.

Easy to order and quick to deliver, I found that Marcel Florist offers a wonderful variety of flower, plant, and gift selections. The creative care that inspires each design is both unique and modern! Pleasant service, paired with a wide variety of design options, definitely made me happy! Downtown Chicago location at 680 N. Lake Shore Drive just steps from The Magnificent Mile, The Loop, and Everywhere Else Too! I have used them for many major corporate events as well, from top-notch Downtown Hotels to The Merchandise Mart to Millenium Park!
