Dr. R. Lee Steely MD FACS

Since I am new to the Houston area, I looked to the online reviews to help me decide which surgeon to perform my breast augmentation surgery. Given that Dr. Steely had over 40 very positive reviews, I decided to go to him for the free consultation. From the moment I met Dr. Steely, I knew that he was the right surgeon for me. The whole staff, Angela, Heather, Cindy and Dr. Steely, are so genuinely kind, caring, patient and down to earth. They made my experience fun and stress free! I never had to wait more than about 3 minutes for my appointments, and the staff was always patient with my phone calls and questions before and after the surgery. In addition, first street hospital is one of the cleanest and nicest hospitals I have been in, and the the whole staff from the nurses to the anesthesiologist were wonderful! If you are considering plastic surgery, I would suggest that you not waste your time going for consultaions elsewhere, Dr. Steely is truely the best!!!

Dr. Steely is great plastic surgeon! I am so pleased with my procedures that I would recommend him to anyone who wanted comestic surgery. He is approachable, patient, understanding and doesn't try to rush you. He really listened to what I wanted to achieve and I am so satisfied with everything I had done. He has a very professional office staff who listens and answers your questions without making you feel like you are bothering or annoying them. Just a great experience!!!

I recently had a tummy tuck ( Feb 09) and could not be happier! I had a c-section 2 years ago and could not get rid of the little pouch area. Dr. Steely was able to reduce the size of my tummy and now it is totally flat. I feel so good in my clothes and have really enjoyed buying new summer clothes and swim-suits. He has a wonderful staff and a beautiful new office. If you are thinking of doing something for yourself you should call Dr. Steely's office and make an appointment. Heather, Cindy and Dr. Steely are wonderful and will help you every step of the way. I would highly recommend Dr. Steely and his staff!

I am a 27 year old female. I live a healthy lifestyle and work out regularly. Because I was an overweight child and teenager the impacts to my body was devastating to the appearance and youthfulness of my abdomen and breast! No matter the amount of healthy living I pursued, I had excess skin that would not respond. I knew my case had to be surgically addressed. I found Dr. Steely and he was the answer to my prayers! He was so warm and welcoming during the consultation I knew right away he was the doctor for me. The results are beyond phenomenal and more than I ever expected. I am 6 months post surgery and every day more and more improvements occur even when I thought it could not get any more perfect. My abdomen looks amazing and my breasts are beautiful and more proportionate. Dr. Steely helped me make an important decision about my breast lift considering I wanted to breast feed in my years to come with starting a family. He offered an alternative procedure that gave me the results I was looking for without the impacts to the functionality of my breasts. He has changed my life 100% and I am forever grateful for the care he gave me during this period. His hands are truly gifted and he will be my surgeon for life with any future desires. I didn't make it past the consultation with this guy. He may be a great surgeon, but I left his office in tears after the consultation. He never outright asked me what I wanted/what look I wanted to achieve. He just read the short form I filled out and didn't ask any additional questions. He insisted that the only way I'd get the look I wanted (all because I wrote the word "perky") is if I had a breast lift with my augmentation (the only doctor to tell me this out of 5 consults). I felt like he was just trying to "sell" me an additional procedure. He was so rude, by the end of the consult I wondered whether he even wanted my business or not. I almost felt as if he was TRYING to upset me so that I wouldn't come back. He kept telling me how my breasts were SUPPOSED to look and how they don't look that way and they wouldn't without a breast lift and augmentation. He kept apologizing to me and saying how he knew this isn't what I wanted to hear. I left feeling so ugly and discouraged!
Fast forward a few months later, I've now had a breast augmentation ONLY with a different surgeon in the area and I'm IN LOVE with the results! Exactly what I wanted and NO LIFT NEEDED!!!
Oh, and not to mention, he was priced considerably higher than other surgeons in the area!

Dr. Steely is one of the most amazing doctors I have ever met. I came in for a breast augmentation consultation. The first thing that surprised me was the fact that he does complimentary consultations!! This was especially helpful since I had already seen multiple doctors that charged for their appointments. After meeting him, I knew that he was the perfect surgeon for me. Not only did he go over every single step in the process, but he was also very helpful in answering every question I asked. He also answered questions that I didn't ask but that he knew would be important for me to know. I was also surprised that after the many visits I have had to his office, never once have I had to wait. Unlike the many other office's I have been to, Dr. Steely makes sure to leave the entire appointment open just for you. It has been three months since my surgery and I have never been more happy. I am VERY happy that I chose Dr. Steely to do my procedure and would recommend him to anyone.

My breast augmentation with Dr. Steely was definitely one of the best decisions I've ever made concerning my appearance. Dr. Steely and his wonderful staff were so friendly and helpful from the beginning. I had been wanting to have this surgery for over 3 years, but I had been unable to find a doctor with whom I felt comfortable, much less one who understood the end results I was hoping for. They all just tried to talk me into going bigger. I knew this was going to be the best surgeon for the job, when he and his staff took the time to help me make the right decisions for my body, offered me encouragement, and were also very professional and answered all of my questions. Dr. Steely took the time to explain all the different ways of doing the surgery, told me about the difference in saline and silicone implants, and explained to me which would work best for my desired look and what would be optimal for my body shape. I decided to go with Dr. Steely's suggestion of the silicone implants, and after picking the size and placement together, I ended up with the exact look I asked for and was hoping for! I am SO happy with the results. The week following my surgery I had a few questions, and Dr. Steely was always available when I called. I just cannot say enough good things about my experience. I will absolutely return to Dr. Steely for any future procedures, and I have already recommended him to several friends. If you want perfect results, go pay Dr. Steely a visit- I promise you won't be disappointed.

Im 26, and I recently had a breast augmentation. Dr. Steely was so friendly, caring, and professional! My surgery was practally pain FREE, with no scars! I went in for my 3 day fllow up, and I was ill from the pain meds, Dr steely made me FIRST priority, called me in anti-nausea down stairs, has his office manager go get it for me, and even pulled money out of his pocket to have her get me a Gatoraid so I wouldn't become dehydrated. I felt VERY taken care of. They are great people!

First of all let me start by saying that Dr. Steely has changed my life, I feel like I was reborn on June 2008 after my surgery. My story starts off with me being pregnant and then delivering my twin girls who stretched and pulled my stomach into a mass of stretch marks and sagging skin. It was something i would have to keep hidden from everyone I met, everyone would always say " you look so good for having twins" but little did they know i had a secret under the pretty facade. Everytime I had to undress I would do it in private or in the dark, I was so ashamed of my body and it held me back in my relationship also but after years of wanting this tummy tuck surgery I was finally able to get it done. I had consulatations with other doctors who either didnt spend the time explaining anything or just gave me this feeling that I was not that important to them just another dollar symbol or they would tell me there was more wrong with me then I initally thought. After the consultations I would go home and be so disappointed and I would tell my fiance this doctor said I needed this extra surgery or lipo here,there, everywhere. He told me not to give up keep looking and I went in for my consultation with Dr. Steely and immediately I was very relaxed and felt this genuine concern from Dr. Steely. He truly does care and its an ongoing process for several months after the surgery. I feel in love with his work and his staff they all truly do care about their patients. I definately would refer everyone to just meet him and see what he can do for you, I promise you won't regret it.

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Steely and his staff both before and after the procedure. They were all extremely all courteous, accomodating and professional. At his office they do not make you wait for long periods of time and Dr. Steely takes his time to understand your expectations and to explain the procedure. The day of surgery everyone at the hospital was friendly and made an extra effort to make me and my boyfriend comfortable.

I was very concern about the procedure and really wanted to look natural....I am very happy with the results and would highly recommend Dr. Steely!

I started looking into plastic surgery over 10 years ago. Dr Steely was one of the first doctors I had consider. This year was when I finally made my mind up to do what is referred to as a "Mommy Makeover". So I made three appts. with three different drs. for a free consultation. After my first consultation I had left with a lot of uncertainty. Dr. Steely was the second dr. for me to visit and after meeting him and his staff for the first time I knew right away he was the one for me. You know? That feeling of intuition from inside. I left his office with all my question answered and feeling very comfortable about my decision to have the procedures done. He and his staff handle everything with such compassion and you felt that they really cared as if you were family. I cancelled my third appt. for there was no need for it. I had gone into Dr Steely's office with an idea how I wanted things to be done and before I left there he had layed out all my options and answered all my concerns. All I know is I did not want to fall into the 95% of women that are not satisfied with there end results but be in the 5% that is100% completely satisfied. I can say with Dr. Steely's professional abilities, experience and patients he worked with me and I am one of those women who are 100% happy with my results. In the future if for any reason I feel the need to have any type of procedures that is covered through his office I will definitely go back to him and his staff. For the past 6 years I have debated the pros and cons of having my breast enlarged. I wanted to increase my chest size back to the size it was before I had kids (maybe even a bit bigger) but I was concerned about damaging the natural shape that I was happy with. I was also very concerned that the Doctor would put too much in and they would end up being too big and "fake" looking.

When I first met with Dr. Steely he and his staff spent a good portion of the initial consultation listning to me. He wanted to know my concerns and wanted to get a good understanding of exactly what my expectations were if I decided to have the surgery. Afterwards he was very helpful in explaining all of my options and showing me examples of what I could expect. He reassured me that the surgery could be done in a way that would incease the size but keep my natural shape and most important keep them looking "real". At the final consult he helped me decide on 300cc in each breast. He felt that would be the perfect size for me because I have a very small frame. I decided to go with silicone to keep the natural feel.

It is now 6 weeks post surgery and I couldn't be happier! The shape is of my breast did not change at all. I'm bigger and fuller! The scars are small and not noticable without close inspection and they are improving every week. Most importantly my breast look and feel real (I hightly recommend the silicone).

Dr. Steely did an incredible job and the only regret I have is that I waited 6 years to find him! I give his staff an A+ as well. They were so sweet and understanding. I can't imagine that there is a better plastic surgeon in the Houston area. He delivered everyting he promised and more.

I have been considering getting breast augmentation for a very long time but was too skeptical about the whole thing. After doing careful research, I decided to go with Dr. Steely because of his view of "be proportionate to your body" and not look overdone. During my consultation, he was able to answer my many questions with clarity which put me at ease. I personally hate going to the doctor but Dr. Steely and his staff made it so pleasant every time I was there. I decided to have silicone implants instead if saline. My husband who is also a doctor (not plastic surgeon though) thinks they are the best job he has seen. Plus, there is no ridiculous wait time at the office as the staffs are efficient. So if you have to see him during lunch while at work, it is definitely doable. Overall, he has exceeded my expectation and I wish I would have got them in my early 20's and not waited till my late 20's.

Dr. Steely and his team are the most professional people that I have ever met. He was 100% honest with me throughout the entire consultation and procedure. I wanted a breast augmentation and I have a really small frame, so I could only go so big until it would start to look ridiculous. He respected what i wanted instead of trying to sell me a bigger size or other procedures. I never felt rushed in his presence. My case felt like the number one priority for his office even though I knew he had other patients. This was a life changing procedure; I needed someone that was compassionate with superb skills and Dr. Steely is exactly that. He always looked me in the eye when he spoke, very direct, but never arrogant or bored. Everyone at the hospital was wonderful and took great care of me throughout the entire procedure. It's been about 2 weeks since my operation but I was up and out the day after. My follow ups were just as warm and welcoming as my initial consultation. I now have a natural looking fuller figure and I can't thank him enough!!! I got exactly what I asked for and there is not a single friend or family member that that I've seen recently who hasn't complimented me on my new profile.

Words can not express how happy I am with Dr. Steely and my breast aug and tummy tuck!
I was very nervous about going in for a consultation. After doing extensive research online I found 100% positive reviews for Dr. Steely. I called his office and set up a consultation - The consultation was FREE! When I arrived, the office was very warm and welcoming. Heather greeted me. She was very pleasant and professional and asked me what I was looking to have done. I then met with Cindy who was extremely down to earth & easy to talk to. I felt so at ease. Dr. Steely came into the room & immediately I felt more comfortable. I told him what my concerns were & he gave me his opinion & answered all my numerous questions. I did not feel rushed at all -- I knew then that I would choose Dr. Steely as my surgeon. When I left I had made up my mind. I figured I should just check with a couple of other surgeons just so I could see a comparison. There was no comparison at all -- Dr Steely by far exceeded my expectations. Not only was he personable, professional & easy going, his fees were by far the best I have seen. I immediately booked my surgery. Before my surgery, I called the office frequently & the staff was always pleasant and eager to answer my questions.
I had my surgery on Dec. 11th 2007 @ St Josephs hospital. My whole experience at the hospital was exceptional - I felt no pain & the staff was great!
My breast aug and tummy tuck went amazing - the scar on my stomach is very thin and has been healing rapidly. I am happy with the size of my breast aug & since I have returned to work, I have refered 2 people to Dr. Steely as they are so impressed with my results. One other thing I would like to mention is, Dr. Steely & his staff also refers you to a store to get fitted for your bra --- this was an added extra perk as I did not know where I should go.
All I can say is Dr. Steely is an asset to the plastic surgery industry. I am so happy!

I am a very detail oriented person and have very high expectations. I did a lot of research online & with friends & nurses who had undergone various cosmetic procedures. After that, I created a list of 5 plastic surgeons to visit in Houston. I chose Dr. Steely without hesistation after meeting with the other surgeons for my tummy tuck, lipo, and breast lift & reduction.

I had all three procedures performed less than 4 weeks ago, first time for ANY surgery, at St Joseph's.The hospital was better than average, though I felt the hospital experience could have been improved. (The food was edible only, my intake nurse was EXCELLENT, but my recovery nurses were scatter-brained, but friendly)

My actual results from the surgeries were excellent. I was back at work in less than a week, which was a lot sooner than I expected. My incisions are very narrow and the stiches are difficult to see if you are looking for them. (this is just 3 wks after surgery). Bruising was minimal, I only had significant bruising from the lipo areas, and that went away quite quickly. My breasts look great, my tummy is flat, and my saddlebags are gone!

The staff at Dr. Steely's office is great. As other's have stated they are friendly, available, not condescending AT ALL, and very very helpful. None of the staff or Dr Steely will pressure you in any way to get extra procedures done (that was not the case with other surgeons I have visited) or "sell" you in any way. They are very sincere in their concern for you and your recovery, possibly even more so AFTER you have paid and gotten the surgery completed (again, not the norm). They go the extra distance to provide you with all the info and things you need to recover quickly and look your best (topical creams, endermology treatments, compression garments, antibiotic creams, sports bra, information packets, etc).

Bottom line, I am not one to rate nearly any experience a 5 stars. I am a perfectionist. They met my HIGH standards. 5 stars!

After doing an extensive search for the most prominent plastic surgeons in Houston, Dr. Steely was one of three we picked for a consultation. These three were well known in the area. Dr. Steely was by far the most personal and attentive to me and what I was wanting. His bed side manner is top notch. I never felt rushed. Even at the free consultation he would have stayed as long as I needed. Your time is important to him. Never makes you wait for your appointment, like some of his colleagues. Friendly and helpful staff round out the experience. St. Joseph's staff was also excellent! After the surgery I was never rushed to leave. Keep up the good work. Will recommend you to anyone.

I found Dr. Steely through a friend that had recently had a breast augmentation by him, i had been wanting to get one myself but was sceptical about finding a good doctor. When i went for my FREE consultaion, he and his staff made me feel at home, like no question i had was a stupid one. I didnt even feel like i had to or even wanted to consult with another plastic surgeon. After leaving his office for the first time, i knew he was the doctor for me. I sceduled my apointment one week later and have been VERY satisfied since. He is very profesional, yet he treats you like you are family. St. Josephs Hosptital's staff are also very nice and helpful, they dont rush you out, and are always there if you need them. I couldnt be happier with Dr. Steely, his staff, St. Josephs Hospital, thier staff or my results. Everything was PERFECT!

Dr. Steely has excellent bedside manner, is never hurried, takes your concerns seriously and is available after hours if needed. He provides honest feedback about what he can or cannot do. His staff is very nice and helpful. They tolerated numerous calls from me when I was concerned or had questions I forgot to ask the dr. I am pleased with my results and highly recommend him. You will be glad you went with him!

I just recently had lipo 10-25-07 he made me feel so comfortable not even knowing this was my first time ever having surgery. After my surgery I had a lot of bleeding and I was very nervous not know that the bleeding was just some fluid and I wasnt going to die from it. Dr steely was able to inform me of this b/c he had given me his direct cell phone number to contact him @ anytime. I would recommend him to anyone!

I got a breast augmentation from Dr. Steely about 8 weeks ago and I couldn't be more happy. The surgery takes place at St. Joseph's downtown. EVERY ONE that I came in contact with in that hospital were wonderful. I didn't not have one rude person help me. With this doctor I didn't feel pressured into getting the surgery and I didn't feel like he was telling me things that weren't correct just so I would agree to get the augmentation. If anything I was trying to rush him into letting me sign the papers! Another thing I appreciated about Dr. Steely is I told him what I wanted and he told me what he could do. I wanted to go as big as I could and he informed me that I could only go to a certain size because that is the max that my body can hold. If I were to go too big I would have a "uni-boob". My implants would touch underneath the skin and my cleavage would be connected under the skin. He informed me if I went too big that would happen to me and it is something that is very hard to correct. So of course I listened to him and I am so happy. I have recommended him to all of my friends and some have already gone for a consultation and we very impressed!

After nursing 3 children, I was suffering from a lack of self-confidence with the appearance of my breasts. Gone were the full, perky breasts I had as a young adult; no more cute tops or bikinis. I was finally ready to make a change and with the support of my family and friends, began researching breast augmentation and the top surgeons in Houston. One quick search provided me with a handful of doctors, including Dr. Steely. I immediately scheduled consultations with all 5 "top docs". My first consult was with Dr. Steely's office. Upon walking in, I was greeted by Heather with a warm, friendly smile. I spent the next 10 minutes with her describing why I was ready to make this change, and the expectations I had as far as final result was concerned. Throughout our conversation she was genuinely interested in my story and supportive of my decision. Next, I met with Cindy. I can't list her many beautiful qualities, but I can tell you that I felt as if I was talking with my sister. She has the ability to instantly calm your nerves. Any questions I had, she was ready with a quick, informative answer. Then, I met Dr. Steely. I remember the moment he walked in the room - my shoulders relaxed and my mind was at ease. I've never felt more comfortable with any doctor. He was nothing less than everything I was hoping for - kind, caring, honest, and most importantly he made me feel like his only patient.
I walked out of his office, and immediately cancelled all other consults. I scheduled my surgery as soon as possible. A friend of mine had her surgery a week before me, and another is set for late August. Surely that in itself is enough evidence that Dr. Steely is one of a kind. I'm two months post-surgery and I'm still blown away when I look in the mirror. If you or someone you know is considering a breast augmentation, call Dr. Steely's office right away. I highly doubt you will find the same all-around treatment in any other setting.

I have been entertaining the idea of breast augmentation for years. Thinking of visiting a plastic surgeon just put butterflies in my stomach. I started asking questions about the procedure and a great friend of mine referred me to Dr. Lee Steely. The moment I sat and visited w/ Dr. Steely... I knew I had found my doctor. He immediately put my mind at ease and after listening to my thoughts and concerns, he knew exactly what I wanted. Dr. Steely was realistic, informative and spoke to me like a "normal person" so I could truly understand the full aspect of the procedure. The day of the surgery I had asked the surgical nurse if I could meet the person that would be responsible for the "closures" after surgery. She told me that Dr. Steely does the entire procedure from A to Z. At that moment I knew I could relax. Dr. Steely surrounds himself with a staff like no other. There was never a wait at his office and always smiling faces. I actually did my consultation and follow up appointments during my lunch hour. As far as my results... Why didn't I do this a Long Time Ago?

My breasts look FABULOUS thanks to Dr. Steely! He helped me pick the PERFECT size for my small frame and the incisions are so little! He is such a skilled surgeon and great communicator. You can completely trust that while in the operating room, Dr. Steely will give you his very best. The price for my surgery was also very fair. When you go to the office, you will meet Cindy and Heather, two fabulous ladies that will make you feel like a friend! Searching the internet for a plastic surgeon and be confusing and overwhelming, that is why I could not wait to give an honest review of my experience. I feel confident saying your search can stop here at Dr. Steely's office.

After looking on multiple sites for a surgeon for my breast augmentation, I chose to visit Dr. Steely based on his before and after shots, his accreditation and the great reviews he has received. I appreciated the free consultation since many surgeons charge for this. The office was so accessible and even had 1 hour free parking! You don't see that in the Texas Medical Center. There was no wait and I immediately noticed how kind and attentive everyone in the office was. Dr. Steely was very interested in what I wanted and more importantly--didn't want! He was very kind and sensitive to my concerns. I had my surgery a week ago and am so pleased. He recommended a wonderful size for my body that would give me the results I wanted. The surgery went incredibly smooth and after only a week, they already look fantastic! I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Steely for breast augmentations!!

I had been considering eyelid surgery and some form of a face lift for a few years so in December I decided to schedule consultations. As many people are, I was somewhat uncomfortable about going to a plastic surgeon. Two of the Doctors I visited were arrogant, rude and only had a ?cookie cutter? approach to surgery. Dr Steely was totally opposite. He actually listened to what I wanted and treated me like a real person. He used a problem solving approach to tailor the surgery to my needs. His follow up to surgery and genuine caring attitude were wonderful. Dr. Steely personally called to check on me the night of the surgery and had me return to his office multiple times so he could monitor my progress. His receptionist was friendly, always treated me with respect and never made me wait. I am extremely happy with the results of my surgery and would highly recommend Dr. Steely to my best friend! He is wonderful!

Oh my goodness. I had great service (if going to the DR. is called service). The actual office is very inviting and the receptionist is awesome and friendly. Now Dr. Steeley is the best surgeon I've ever seen. He is very open and truthful. He tells you straight up what to expect and how things will go as the healing continues. he know's what he is doing and would not do anything to mess up your physical apperance. Is a very kind man is very considerate of what you want.

I couldn't sleep the night before my liposuction consultation. It wasn't the thought of surgery that made me nervous, but the unimaginable idea of letting someone actually look at me from behind. Literally, the thought made me sick to my stomach. However, my fear was all for naught! I felt instantly comfortable and at ease with Dr. Steely. And I mean instantly. I would say that his bedside manner and professionalism are his best qualities. I would, except for the fact that the results were absoluting amazing. So if I were asked to name Dr. Steely's greatest attribute, I'd definintely say his expertise. Fortunately, there's no need to choose - he's got the whole package!

Pros: everything (the surgical hospital staff is also great!)

Cons: nothing

Don't you want to be able to say the same? Dr Steely did my breast reduction and liposuction - I am amazed at the results. Not only is he a talented surgeon, he is patient, kind and compassionate. I never have to wait before my appointments, and he is readily available to answer any and all questions I had. I am so thankful I found him - you will be too!

Dr. Sealy was PHEONOMINAL!!!! I went to him for breast reduction surgery. I consulted with several other doctors before deciding to go with Dr. Sealy. The other doctors pressured me and made me feel like I was on a plastic surgery factory line, whereas Dr. Seally actually took time to talk to me and make me feel comfortable and he worked around my schedule, not making me wait for months before I could get in...not to mention he was also priced the fairest! : )

His work was great too, I'm always getting compliments on how great I look, and I feel GREAT! They completely look natural and like I'm 18 again! I would highly recommend anyone to go and at least consult with Dr. Sealy!!!!

Pros: Can get to you in a timely matter

Cons: Doesn't have a nurse on staff

I met with Dr. Steely because I was interested in having a full body lift. I had lost over 100 lb after gastric by pass surgery and I was left with ALOT of loose skin. I was a kind of apprehensive about the consultation but, Dr. Steely immediately made me feel comfortable. His ability to put me at ease was comforting. Dr. Steely took all my feelings into consideration. My concerns became his. I had the first of what will be 2 surgeries 3 weeks ago, and I have never been so happy. Dr. Steely performed a tummy tuck and although all of the swelling is not gone the result are amazing. Dr. Steely has taken wonderful care of me. He managed my pain beautifully. I am excited about my future procedures and I trust Dr. Steely 100%.

I was apprehensive about my consult for my breasts, thoug i have been thinking about it for years. Dr Steely made it easy. He met with me personally right at first, and took over an hour explaining all the in and outs of the procedure. He listened to all my questions and did not make me feel rushed. It was (almost!) pain free and I look and feel great! I would recommend Dr Steely very very highly.
