un-remarkable, incredibly expensive food. 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

We gave Aliotta's a second chance thinking that perhaps our first experience was an anamoly and an "off" day. We came to the same comclusion the second time around -The food is edible; but not noteworthy, and very, very expensive; the decor is dated and tacky , the acoustics are bad, and the service is good.

My fussli alla bruna had 6 quarter size (at best) pieces of eggplant and no evidence of mushrooms. Not what you would expect for a dish described as "fresh eggplant, mushrooms, garlic ...". My wife's Penne Pollo E Carciofi was overcooked and un-remakable.

Don't waste your time. SAVE YOUR MONEY!

Pros: plenty of room in the parking lot
Cons: expensive

very bad 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

I was extremely disappointed. Menu had a big selection. Unfortunately, the food got worse as each course was brought out. Most disappointing was my pasta, it was OVER-COOKED and mushy. The pasta was practically falling apart because it had been cooked so long! Our server and the nice lady who took our dishes away were the only part of the experience that was pleasant. I woud not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

REAL italian food 5 Star Rating - World class

This is one of best "ITALIAN" food ever had...its so fresh so just right taste... you got to check it out... I would recommend to some one like to propose.. I am sure ambiance will make her to say YES.. its pretty neat place...
I am not romantic ( as per my wife ) but I felt some thing different ...at this place. We went with 1 year old daughter but no issues environment is so relaxed and friendly we had no issues there.. I highly recommend this place for some one who is craving for REAL Italian food not "American Italian food"

Pros: everything.....
Cons: pricy

Horrible: Do Not Recommend 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

Tried this restaurant for the first time based on the city search reviews: We had a horrible experience...

1) Nice decor, but it was really hot inside. No air conditioning during the summer??? They simply had two doors open

2) Waiter was a nice little old man, but could hardly understand what he was saying. Service was a C if best. There was only two other groups there and we never got refills on drinks and I had to call for service a few times.

3) We ordered the calamari for the app... Terrible! It tasted as if it came from the freezer section of your local grocery store.

4) Hoping the main dish would save this restaurant, I was still open minded... We order two dishes which were listed as "favorites". I would give them a C. When ever I have to add salt to my dish something is wrong.

Overall my total bill ran me close to $70 for two people. Aliotta's was just plain horrible. I would definitely not recommend this restaurant to anyone. There are so many other better restaurants in the South Bay!!

Pros: Decor
Cons: Service and Food: C-

exceptional 5 Star Rating - World class

This restaurant provides the ultimate italian comfort food. It is authentic, and every item on the menu is incredible...The owner and his staff are both professional and incredibly personable. The place has a wonderful family feel and the homemade pasta is to die for.. There isn't a better place to have a romantic meal than aliotta's. I was shocked to read some of the reviews on this page...actually I would have been shocked to read about even the mildest disappointment. I think that those who didn't find aliottas to be among the best italian restaurants in at least the south bay should probably stick to olive garden or chef boyardito.

Please don't deprive yourselves...overlook the negative reviews and check out this absolute GEM!!

Pros: brilliant food, exceptional service, family feel, rustic ambiance
Cons: a bit pricy
