It's a hassle to get there since it's at the Wharf, but the food was good. Service was pretty good. The menu is nice that it gives some detail on the ingredients. I had the crab chowder and 1/2 order of Dungeoness crab. Make sure to park across the street in the lot and they'll validate parking.

The food here is pretty good but though the waiters are very friendly, not very attentive. Basically, as soon as you get your food you don't see them again until you are finished. We had to wait a while after finishing before they took our plates and even longer until they brought the bill. We were also there at a slow time of day. I enjoyed the food and the view was great but don't go here unless you are prepared to spend awhile there. It is also pretty expensive. It came out to over $25 each with tax and tip.

Pros: Great Fish Creatively Cooked and Served

Cons: Terrible Service, Noise, Ambiance

I am not so bad that i would give a restaurant an unfair review. This place was a disappointment in so many ways. It was obvious they rely on tourists for their business because they were not overly polite. My first impression was not

Pros: Ambience was good

Cons: bread table within reach of waiting area patrons!!! GROSS!!!

We were just starting to have our salad when along came a group of thugs how need to work on the patio area. All of a sudden they started to work on the railings with their grinders while we were eating, couldn't believe it!

Eventually the manager got involved and made a very good attempt to rectify the problem. We were moved to a different location within the restaurant and were given free drinks.

After the experience with the thugs, not everything went well. Although our salads and drinks were completely reordered one of our glasses had a very bad chip. The server drooped the silver wear several times. Perhaps a different restaurant might be better until they improve on the quality of attentiveness towards their patrons.

My bf and I went here literally after we had just ate somewhere in the marina, but we had a cocktail here. The Food looks great but I certainly couldn't judge it. The staff was friendly and we met a very nice security guard who chatted us

I enjoyed my meal when we ate at the Franciscan.

They have some great choice on the menu for your eating pleasure. I choose the good old steamed crab, with great drawn butter.

Side dishes were great too, I love the Sourdough bread , its a must when you eat in San Francisco.

For an SF crab restaurant, this place is nothing special. \r
The service was terrible and the service was worse.\r
\r
Try the crab house, the staff is friendlier and food is way better.

This restaurant offers a great view and slightly above average food, but the service staff made my wife and I feel like a burden. As a restaurant manager myself I understand that servers live off of tips and a higher check average

This is definitely the place to go for fresh and well prepared seafood in Fisherman's Wharf . The building?s exterior has had a make over too, and what a view.

Despite the touristy location, the Franciscan can be really fun. The view is awesome and they are rocking some delicious crab at a good price. I'd go just for the housemade burrata, a rare treat--super creamy and amazing! They have a lot
