I've had the same hair cut and style since the 80's! Since my hair started to turn gray, I began using different hair dyes from the store and Sally's myself to cover it. I made the mistake of picking a color that was too dark and I looked like a used car salesman. After reading all the good reviews, I thought I'd give this place a call to correct it. I told the stylist to help me correct the color and to also help me get a new style. She asked me questions about what I do for a living. She then showed me some styles and colors that would look professional as to not be inapproporate for professional attire. I was really impressed with that! The service was the absolute best I've ever had in a hair salon by far! The prices were great. I have a new style that everyone loves! I am a customer for life....or as long as I have hair! Thanks for doing a great job!

Ask for Lauren! I have had my hair cut in Sante Fe, Houston, Dallas and Denver and this is the best haircut ever for my face shape and also up keep of style--easy. I brought in a photo of hairstyle and Lauren matched and tailored to my face shape. She is an excellent hair stylist and I left with several of her cards to give to friends in search of someone who knows what they are doing. I have received more compliments of my new haircut. P.S. At the Hair Studio they also have a hair stylist Laura--my hair stylist was LAUREN, not Laura.

About 3 years ago I lost my long-time stylist. So, for the last three years, I've tried several salons and had concluded that I would have to settle for "I like it ok" cut and color events. Today, that all changed. I tried Hair Studio for the first time - and WOW! from the moment I entered, it felt right. Friendly staff and a comfy chair greeted me. My color was a mess from previous mediocre experiences, so I felt compelled to tell Laura what I wanted. She listened very patiently, offered a couple of suggestions, brought me color samples, talked me through the process, then proceeded to totally refresh my hair color and style. Once I saw the outcome, I knew I'd never have to explain to her what needed to be done. She is a highly skilled professional and even though we had just met, she knew far better than I did what I needed : ) Her talent shows and I can finally say "I LOVE IT!" about my color and style. Thanks Hair Studio for being so easy to do business with, for having staff like Laura. I look forward finally having a sure thing again.

I love this place! I didn't think I would be able to find a good salon with reasonable prices in the city (especially after my first experience in San Antonio), but I did! Thank goodness for City Search. After reading the reviews on here, I called and made an appointment with Laura a few months ago. I've been twice now and she's given me great color, highlights, cut and service at an amazing price. She has also been very flexible. I missed an appt. on accident and she called and was able to squeeze me in a few hours later. This place is a gem and I don't plan on going anywhere else anytime soon. I'm seriously so happy I found it that I would do cartwheels the whole way there if I had to, 5-plus stars for sure. I can't wait to go back. :o)

I just moved to San Antonio and made the mistake of going to a cheaper salon since I just needed a trim. My hair looked horrible. After looking on citysearch I decided to try out Hair Studio Sonterra. First of all, the salon is beautifu. The staff is friendly and professional. It did take a few days to schedule an appointment online, I ended up just calling and got an appt right away for the same week. I have very thick, wavy hair which can be difficult to cut because it tends to "do its own thing". Lauren gave me a fantastic hair cut that I love! I've never had a hair stylist get it right the first time. Usually its a good haircut and after going a few times they figure out how to cut my hair right. I highly recommend this salon. It's a little pricey ($65) for a haircut, but worth every penny. I can't wait to get a color next time :)

I'm very, very paticular about my hair, no one ever seems to get it right. I went to Hair Sonterra and got a cut and color. It was absolutely fabulous! I have no complaints. The stylist listened VERY carefully to what I wanted, gave some suggestions, and executed exactly what we talked about. I got very natural blonde highlights and a killer haircut. The blowdry was also amazing...no need to re-do it myself when I got home.

This is my second experience getting hair extensions, and I have now had them in for four months and they still look great.

The first time around at a different salon it did not end so well.... However, my second experience at Hair Studio Sonterra was completely different. This is not to say my extensions the first time around didn't look good, but Shellie seems more dedicated to helping me throughout the time that I have had them in.

Her technique is also different. Compared to the first time my extensions did not knot up, (and when this happens you have to stay on top of it) and I believe this was in large part due to her technique. My hair was also longer, and fuller so to me this was extremely impressive. I felt so beautiful - even the second time around when you see them finished it is still quite the site.

Based on my experience I would only use the products designed to protect the bonding of your extensions. Whoever puts your extensions in should take them out. Brush you hair three times a day, and pull it back when you sleep. Also, Shellie recommended when washing my hair not to put conditioner anywhere near your bonds because it will loosen them up.

I am going in later this month, to have them taken them out, and I am going to get a new set put in.

First time here - the location is not that easy to find. I had to wait almost an hour past my appointment time. Everyone was super nice, but really not listening to what I was trying to have done. The cut was really not flattering to me at all and not current. I was kind of expecting cutting edge - not that kind of place. And it cost $65.00 for the cut and dry. Plus they try to sell you all kinds of products the whole time they are doing your hair. They take walk-ins, so I guess that's what you can expect from that kind of place. At any rate, I will continue on my endless search to find someone in San Antonio who knows how to cut hair!

I spent my 30th birthday at Hair Studio Sonterra. My husband pampered me with allowing me free reign of the services here. The staff is so awesome! I received a facial from Denise and it was the best one I've ever had. She is so nice and did an excellent job! Lisa gave me a relaxing manicure and pedicure, which turned out so lovely. Then I had a trim, highlights, and style with Mary. She did such a tremendous job! I have never been so happy with my hair!! I love the way it turned out! The studio is decorated so beautifully and feels warm and inviting. I really had a wonderful experience here and look forward to going back soon!

I have had many facials in my life and I have never met anyone so passionate towards clients needs or interest in the clients and what they feel their needs are. She will spend the time to listen and has more answers than any other esthetician I have dealt with. If she does not know the answer she will pull out her lap top and start researching. Her passion shows through and her dedication to helping people with their skin care needs is incredible. All I can say is thank you Denise and I look forward to seeing you again and getting another marvelous personalized facial and treatment.

I am extremely particular when it comes to my hair. That being said, Hair Studio Sonterra has exceeded all my expections & beyond. My hair artist is Debbie Jo & she is the Queen of razor cuts. She is consistent & my hair always, always looks fabulous after my cut. She shares her styling technique, so I am able to repeat it at home. I always receive many compliments from my family, friends, clients & people I meet on a daily basis. I went from long hair to short over 3 months ago & because of Debbie Jo, I had no regrets! My husband absolutely loves the short style.

Other wonderful things about Hair Studio Sonterra: Friendly receptionists; beautiful salon (10 minutes from my home); great products (try the Pureology line); ease of scheduling appointments by email.

If you are looking for a new salon, this is the one & ask for Debbie Jo!

I had my hair done 3 weeks ago at Studio Sonterra and surprisingly my color is still very true and nice. The girl stayed with me and kept checking my foils so I could get the color I wanted. I liked how she explained everything to me step by step and I was completely comfortable.

I was really looking forward to trying this salon after reading the reviews and finally finding a good haircut in San Antonio, which seems impossible. My appointment was with Mary. She really is a very nice person who tried really hard to listen to what I wanted in a hairstyle, however, I honestly have to say that this is one of the worst haircuts that I have ever gotten. My haircut feels like it is a combination of two different cuts on one head. It is so difficult to fix myself and I have to say I won't go back. It is really pricey, $65, to me that is a lot to pay for just a haircut.

I am a blond who gets her hair highlighted every few months. I had a couple bad experiences in San Antonio until I found Yvonne. She does a great job highlighting my hair. She cut my hair once and I got many compliments on it. However, at $65 plus tip, her haircuts are just too expensive for me. So I only go to her for color. She was running way behind for 2 of my 3 appointments with her. However, I will say the the salon owner and staff members bent over backwards to apologize and bring me beverages and entire plates of catered food! Awesome. The owner also generously gave me a large bottle of $45 product after one of those late starting appointments.

Pros: Yvonne is a great colorist, excellent customer service

I went in to get my hair done as I do every 6 weeks and discovered they now have a full time Esthetician that specializes in Microdermabrasion, facial peels and several types of facials. I cannot wait til my appointment next week. And they are running great specials on different skin treatments. Her other co-workers said great things about her and the treatments she performs. It is nice that the salon is becoming a one stop make-over salon. Great job Dana & Lance the new salon looks great.

First, I must admit I AM "that" customer that most salons fake a smile to see because I have learned to express dissatisfaction after paying $200 for coloring/cuts that stylists pretended to like on me-but that my family and friends had to tell me looked AWFUL!! After years of leaving salons (from New York to LA) unhappy with the results, I began to believe that what I had been asking stylists to do REALLY was impossible. Sadly, I have also become used to people who find the easiest, cheapest, fastest way to make a buck with no regard for taking pride in the work they do. Luckily, I remained unsatisfied with all the pricey color "experiments" I paid top dollar for in the past and brought my search here--where I read all the + reviews @ THIS PLACE and took a chance!
After living all over the US, having my hair done in MANY (an understatement at best) high priced, top rated salons AND paying over $300/visit I can confidently say this was by far the BEST salon I have encountered bar none! From making the appointment (SUPER friendly receptionist, great attitude and answered ALL of my many ?s) to my stylist aka HAIR GENIUS!!(LAURA) who took her time, listened to what I was aiming for and literally accomplished a feat I previously thought impossible!! My hair is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!, and despite this being my FIRST visit she got it 210% RIGHT! Gone are my days of debating returning to salons for "color corrections"! I HIGHLY (and without reservation) recommend this salon (sp. LAURA!)
I am thankful for all the HONEST reviewers who led me to this jem! I wish I had researched earlier and saved myself from the absolute salon horrors I have experienced at other SA spa/salons. I had NO idea my hair COULD look this fabulous!

I visted Shellie after having my hair destroyed at Toni and Guy. My hair was fried! Shellie found a color that was a natural me and gave me an awesome swing bob. My husband loves it and everyone wants to know who does my hair!

My first experience with a stylist in San Antonio was awesome. I struggled to find a stylist in Phoenix for 15 months & never found one I liked. As usual, I relied on CitySearch to point me in the right direction. Boy, am I glad! I called & was able to get an appointment the same day. According to the receptionist, Mondays are usually slow for them. Yes, I said Mondays. This salon is open on Mondays! I arrived early to my appointment because I left my house early in case I got lost but I found it right away. Which is saying a lot for me, I am navigationally challenged. I was greeted right away by three friendly ladies at the front counter. I was offered something to drink several times while I waited. I was a bit disappointed that my appointment was at 2pm and my stylist did not come out to greet me promptly at 2pm, even to say she is running late. However, she did appear about 20 minutes after my appt time and was very friendly. She was very pleasant & we had a pleasant conversation while she gave me highlights, lowlights, and a cut. My stylist was Yvonne & she transformed my hair, which had not been touched in over nine months, to a work of art. It is so beautiful! The color is amazing. I came home & my husband told me that he thought this was the best hair I have ever had. He took me to dinner & we had a wonderful, romantic evening.

Thanks to Yvonne for adding some spark to my marriage & bringing out the romantic in my man! It was worth the $190 just to see my husband look at me that way.

I have thick shoulder length hair with a little gray. My hair has always been hard to handle but lately out of control. My old stylist just kept doing the same old thing. I decided to try looking on City Search, I have used them when I travel but this was the first time for a salon. My entire experience was wonderful. The Place is beautiful and Debbie gave me a layered new look that everyone loves including my husband.

The new location is super convenient and very nice. I have been getting my hair colored there for several months now and am always happy with the end result. The staff is very accomodating, friendly, and they do a great job of listening to what your goals are. I've left feeling and looking fantastic everytime. I would highly recommend the Hair Studio if you are looking for a top-notch salon in San Antonio.

I recently had a bad cut that I lived with for 2 months before I decided to try and find a new salon. I saw this salon rated on citysearch and decided to try it. When I called the receptionist was incredibly helpful in finding me a stylist who could cut curly hair and set me up with a stylist named Patricia. Patricia had curly hair, so she knew what it was like, and gave me a beautiful hair-cut! FINALLY!! the one stylist who got it right! It was exactly what I wanted and I didn't even have to spend hours explaining it to her. She noticed my hair was cut unevenly and assured me that everything would be fixed, and it was. The salon itself is beautiful and everyone is so very friendly. I would recommend this salon to anyone looking for great customer service and a beautiful new look.

I was new to the area and was desperately seeking a "go to" hair stylist with no luck. (previous encounters I had at other salons included razored hair "to thin" my hair and not really listening to what I wanted aka interesting highlights or Ronald McDonald hair). I read about Hair Studio Sonterra on Citysearch and thought I would give it a try. I had Melissa, who does great hair! She took time to explain everything in detail with me before doing my hair and was very thorough. She did exactly what I wanted. ( I had brought in a picture and she duplicated the look) The whole time she was very kind and answered any questions I had. Everyone at the salon was very friendly and welcoming. I am grateful to finally find a salon and a hair stylist I can trust! Melissa you are the best! :-)

I can not recommend this salon enough. From the friendly staff to the great cut, it was all good. Melissa did exactly what I wanted and showed me step by step how to achieve the look I was going for. After two days my hair still looks good and I can style it myself. Big plus for me. In the past I leave the salon looking good, but once I shampoo it's all down hill from there. My hair has never looked better. I've been looking for a salon close to home and I have found it. Thanks Melissa, your the best.

I just went to Hair Studio for the first time to fix the worst cut I've ever received (Regis Salon at La Cantera - Tonya). Shellie was so accommodating, and squeezed me in last minute to help me get it fixed. She was quick and efficient, without sacrificing the quality of the style. One of the best cuts I've received in a while! I highly recommend this salon and Shellie as a stylist!

I have had my hair done at many places in San Antonio in the last few weeks because of one bad hair job. After being disappointed repeatedly, I actually left this salon happy AND with turning heads! Debbie from Hair Studio darkend my hair from yellow blonde to a darker natural blonde with a tone that she reccomended for my skin. Also, my hair was very fragile and dead looking, so she took that into account when coloring my hair with a semi-permanent. From the moment that you walk into the door they are super friendly, especially the owner. It was a great hair experience and Debbie will listen to you and will make sure she knows exactly what you want, as well as deliver your desired result! She's so sweet and quick! Definitely Reccomend her!

This place is a little bit pricy compared to most places ($25 for a guy cut w/ no wash) but thats because you get a quality hair cut by experienced stylists. I got a faux-hawk by Debbie Jo and she finished everything in 15 minutes! She was very nice and I highly recommend her to any guy or girl who wants a quality cut. She gave me exactly the look I was going for and I'm extremely happy with my new cut.

My only 2 complaints were:
1. A shampoo doesn't come with a standard haircut like at my prior stylist
2. A cleanup brush was not used afterwards on me so I had hair in my ears, on my shirt, on my face etc.

Neither of these were a big deal but I definitely would've enjoyed my experience more if these came standard for all cuts. Great experience overall though.

Excellent cut and color--very hard to find in one stylist! I, too, went to a Stone Oak salon with Charles in the name and when I arrived home, realized that my 'one-length' hair had not been cut to any one-length by the master stylist and was so bad that I had to trim it myself. I've been o several Aveda salons in the area, as they were always very reliable in the Northeast-not the case in San Antonio>

If you are looking for an excellent stylist, I highly recommend Yvonne at Hair Studio Sonterra. She took the time to be sure the color we selected in our consultation was exactly what I wanted and explained all of what she was doing throughout the cut and color. I could not have been happier..

It had been a while since I had my hair professionally highlighted (foiled). The last 2 times I visited an "upscale salon" (begins with Kay & ends with Charles) my concerns and requests were not heard nor were they even acknowledged. You would think with the prices they charge you would have at least SOME say-so. Instead of being convinced by expensive advertising & overpriced products, I decided I would find a new salon online by reading feedback from real, local people on the web - enter City Search & The Best Of Salons. Long story short, I got an appointment at Hair Studio for the very next day because the stylist had a cancellation!! I explained to the receptionist that I needed a foil highlight by someone who was good with color and even better with fine, thin hair. Yvonne IS THE stylist and truly an artist at her craft. She had a lot of obstacles to overcome with my hair, but I walked out with not only the most beautiful, natural foil color highlights & new hair design, but with newfound confidence that cannot be bought from a place that doesn't put their scissors where their "spa type" advertising mouths are. All the ladies were down-to-earth friendly, had wonderful attitudes and were genuinely interested in their chosen careers. I'm so very impressed with Hair Studio Sonterra and even more so with my new hair stylist!!!! Thanks Yvonne - Your the BEST and I'm so pleased to have met such a talented professional that I can call "MY" beautician who obviously has a passion for her work!

Overall a pleasent experience. I went in to the salon on a Monday, when most salons aren't even open, and my stylist Yvonne was so sweet and really listened to what I was looking for. And gave me just what I wanted! All the stylists were friendly. And the receptionist was so kind, warm, and friendly. This salon definitely has a great team of experienced individuals!

It took three hours...but my hair was perfectly foiled. The most beautiful lights I have ever had. Usually my highlights are orange. The stylist worked very closely with me to understand the color I was looking for. She would continually ask questions for my desired affect. I went in a calico cat and left as a persian kitten. Sweet Smart Place.

Wow! what a pleasent surprise. The salon has such a nice appealing decor, then the warm reception made me feel special. My Thursday morning appointment was so relaxing after dropping the kids off at school. With the best products and smiling professionals, I was transformed to look 10 YEARS YOUNGER. No need to go to "the show...10 Years Younger" Just go right here in Santerra, I was looking and feeling great. I had eyebrow threading, buttery bright highlights, and a fab haircut!! Beleive me when I say...Everyone noticed. I could not believe all the compliments. I will never let my self go so long between getting my self pampered again! And I will be going back to Hair Studio Santerra.

Generally I try to only use salons that are recommended by friends. But I found this salon on the internet because I wanted to get my hair straightened. After reading their site I decided to book an appointment. I must admit the experience was very good and the results never better. This was my first time to try a bio ionic straightening and the results were excellent. I returned a few weeks later and had a cut and color with wonderful results. I found the stylist and staff attentive and friendly. I would recommend this salon

I have been looking for a place to get my hair cut for quite some time. I found this place in the yellow pages and checked out their website. I was impressed with their rating and the bios for the stylists. First time, I got my hair cut by Melissa. I was a little apprehensive because she was so new to the field, but she did ok, it just wasn't quite what I wanted...I have curly hair and the cut was for straightened hair which isn't practical for everyday. I then decided to try out one of the "veterans" who specialized in layering. I was very specific in how I wanted my hair to fall and where my problem areas were; i.e. too full over the ears, and I wanted to fall backwards to longer and fuller locks in the back. I got the exact opposite. I still feel like I have a pom-pom sitting on my head and the back is thin and stringy. Initially, the style was managable but without any sass. I'm 35 but my hair cut looked 45. I see that someone from the salon responds to these reviews... the suggestion that anyone unhappy should say so and then it can be fixed it not really realistic. When a client is unhappy, the last thing we want is to have more hair taken off by the same person. My suggestion is to make sure the cut is right the first time and to remind your stylists to LISTEN to what the client says and not cut unless you are sure that you can give that result. I will not be going back to this salon.

I am still looking for a hair salon I like in San Antonio. I went to this salon twice. They have done a decent job but not great. My highlights the first time were dull and alittle off color and I was disappointed. When I called to make my next appt I asked for another highlighter and was told the first lady no longer worked there. The second time I did get good highlights and a decent haircut. It just wasnt anything amazing. Im still looking for something similar to the service I got in Austin and havent found it. This wasnt the place for me. It was an upscale price for an average service.

What at mistake, I bought some hair color at the Walgreen's thinking "I'll save a little money and do this myself". After carefully reading the instructions I decided to give it a try. I have Highlights in my hair but I wasn't brave enough to attempt that at this point. So I did my hair all the same color, a sandy blonde. After going through the procedure and thinking everything was fine, I dried my hair and the horrible reality emerged. Instead of "sandy blonde" I now had a dull blonde color with an orange tint in the light. I immediately contacted a friend that suggested this place so I scheduled an appointment asap. I was reassured by the stylist that she could fix the problem, so I relaxed for what was to become a wonderful experience. After everything was done my hair looked perfect and the color was back to normal. I recommend you give this salon a call.

This just a nice place to go and get a haircut and highlights. I visited several salons in the area, and most have been good salons. But here the stylists and staff really went out their way to make me feel at home. My experience was relaxing and fun. Debbie did my haircut, and it was one on the best I ever had. Melissa handled the highlights and they were flawless. I plan on making this my permanent salon. Thanks for the great job, and I will see you soon.

I Have always had blonde hair. I have always preferred a man stylist. But he could not take out the Green. He even made my hair more green. After a careful search I found this place "Hair Studio Sonterra", Jen made me a Sun LIght Blonde. She explained everything. My hair is still silky smooth and "NOT FRIED"!

My Mom always told me about her "hairdresser", as she called her, and how she would help her with her problems. Until now I always wondered how your stylist could be your friend and discuss your most intimate problems. It just seems in this day and time that we are all rushed and I find it a wonderful change of pace to find a business that would take the time to get to know their customers in this way. Over the past year I have been to two different stylists here, the first stylist and I didn't click but my present stylist has become a person I truly look forward to coming and seeing. She does excellent work but she goes beyond that and has become a friend I enjoy visiting with every few weeks . We get caught up on each others lives and act as counselors to help each other with problems. I guess I am amazed that a stylist that is as busy as she is still makes the time to get to know her customers. I have found it hard to beat a good glass of wine, fun conversation with friend and the bonus of a wonderful new hairstyle. This salon has been an experience I highly recommend if you want to just get away from it all relax and enjoy a good conversation with a "friend".

I have been visiting several salons over the past year since I moved here from Florida. Although all the salons were good, I needed someone that could get my color just right. Last week I found my match and my permanent salon. The stylist was very understanding and worked with me till I got exactly the mixture of color and highlights I wanted. Everyone was friendly and the entire experience was first rate.

my mom and I went in for some haircuts on a weekday. we were the first customers that day...no one greeted us for like 5 minutes and then finally a stylist who was arranging her station came and said hello....this doesn't make sense becuase we had been sitting for 5 minutes. why couldn't anyone say Hello right away when we walked in? the receptionist was horrible. not friendly at all. both of our stylists had friendly personality. very personable. not a good place for people looking for short hairstyles. we went because they specialize in short cuts and was listed as one of the top salons in san antonio but we didn't think so. the $15 haircut my mom got before that at a hole in the wall salon was just much better. I would never go back to this salon again because other cheaper salons can do so much better than here. I don't like to write bad things about businesses but I had to since my experience was not that great. we were dissapointed. seemed like they just wanted to make money off of us in a way.

I called to schedule an appointment with someone who is able to cut curly hair. When I called the receptionist said that I would have to call back later. Which at that point you should be able to tell me who is available for an appointment. But I told myself that I really needed to find someone to cut curly hair so I waited and called back. When I called back the receptionist was clueless on what I needed and then began to look through the appointment book (from what I could hear) for someone with availability. Now my assumption for the reason of me calling back was that she needed to figure out who was available. The receptionist told me that a certain stylist had an opening on a Saturday, so I took that appointment. I then received a call a couple days after that from the receptionist saying the stylist that I was scheduled with was not working that day and that I needed to call back and reschedule. My question is why would you schedule me for an appointment when the stylist wasn't working. Your staff is a reflection of how you are as a business owner and I am definitly not impress with the management of the Great Hair Studio. I am wondering how this salon achieved a five star rating.

I scheduled a cut and color consultation for my daughter and me at 4:30 on a Sat. While we were out shopping, the receptionist called me and asked if we could come at 3:15, as our scheduled stylist had an opening due to a cancellation. I altered my schedule and we arrived at the salon 15 minutes early and were informed that the stylist would be with us as soon as she finished with her present customer. Thirty minutes later, we were still waiting. At that time the receptionist finally offered us something to drink. When the stylist finished with her customer, she proceeded to work on another customer without saying anything to us (no apology, nada, zilch, nothing). The receptionist had disappeared and there were two other stylists talking and hanging around the receptionist's desk. After waiting 45 minutes, I told the stylists hanging around the front desk that I couldn't wait any longer, crossed our names off the list, and promptly departed the salon. Once again, no apology for making us wait. Normally, I would not have waited as long as I did, but I'm desperate to find a stylist that can properly cut and style extremely curly hair. Unfortunately, I'll never know whether or not this is "the salon," as their total lack of customer service cost them new clients. I would not return if they offered to cut my hair for free. I am still wondering how they received their 5-star rating--I was not impressed.

I have been going here for over a year, and yes I found it through CitySearch. Anyway, the experience has been wonderful. Color and styling always excellent. Recently I noticed that they started doing eyelash extensions. Being the adventurous type I decided to give them a try. My lashes are short and blonde, so I was really excited about the possibility of having long lashes. The experience took about and hour and the results were incredible. I didn't realize it but they actually attach individual lashes to your individual lashes. I didn't tell my husband that I was having this done, but he noticed immediately and loved them.

Pros: Convenient, friendly staff

Cons: Sometimes hard to get a last minute appointment

My friend tried to perm my hair and when it turned out really bad, she tried using a straightener and fried my hair. In a panic I called for my stylist who was out of town, but I was booked with Melissa. Melissa told me that I needed this new rejuvenating treatment, she said she had tried it herself and it was awesome. This stuff was amazing, my lifeless fried hair was reborn. The treatment cost me about $50 and took about 45 minutes. What a wonderful place they take care their customers. They have done my hair for the past year and I have been thrilled with the results every time.

I am new to San Antonio and skeptical about trying a new stylist after 5 years with my last stylist in Dallas. After roaming the net I decided to try the Hair Studio. What a stroke of luck, Michelle did a excellent job with both my color and haircut. I have found a new home and new stylist.

This salon was that cute place that all the locals know, where you are treated right with a smile and friendly conversation. Michelle greeted me upon my arrival with big smile and a hug. After discussing what we were going to do to my hair I was treated to a wonderful experience. Michelle was able to create a new haircut and color for me that gained complements from all my friends. I would highly recommend her and my new cute place to get my hair done.

She did however offer to fix it but after 6 hours of scalp torture I declined sitting there any longer. I would also like to mention I know the difference between chemical burn and having a sore scalp from my hair being pulled, and was was definately NOT chemical burn. I went to pay my bill wanting to leave the terrible experience ASAP and my grand total? $227!! I asked the girl to break down the charges for me and she told me to "be happy..for all she did that was cheap"!! I used to have my hair done regularly at a very nice salon in Miami and I never paid that much unless a mani/pedi was included. Oh I forgot to mention, I did get my eyebrows waxed. I had to have them redone the following day as once again..no difference. Still had a bunch of little hairs that were just missed and splotchy. This salon (there was no manager on site) was unprofessional, extremely overpriced and had no regard whatsoever for the comfort of their customers, which was evident after the 8th tray to the legs and then the one to the back. Save your money and your scalp ladies.

After reading all of the reviews on this site I decided on this salon. I called and asked for their best colorist and they set me up with Leslie. I explained to her what I wanted and showed her a pic of Jennifer Anistons hair as my end result. My hair was dyed dark mind you with some red in it so I knew this wouldnt be achieved that day but I did expect it to be noticably lighter when I left. I was there for 6...yes 6 hours. I have long legs mind you, but I must have been hitt with her cart a minimum of 10 times in the legs and then once, so hard it lightly bruised in the back (that one I finally got an Im sorry for) They finally took me back to rinse everything out and they put the wrong toner in so had to do it all over again ,they had a trainee do it. She was very nice and probably the high point of the day but I swear by the time I got out of that chair I felt like my hair had literally been ripped out at the roots. She started to dry my hair and totally didnt follow the "start from the ends to remove tangles" protocol so I got to sit through another 20 minutes of having my hair and scalp ripped at. When it was finally dry they realized they had "missed a spot with the toner" and I had to sit another 15 min for it to develop..when it was rinsed guess what? They found ANOTHER spot they had missed so again, I sat for another 15 minutes waiting for them to fix their mistake. After all that and it was dry she showed me my hair. Not only was it not AT ALL lighter, it actually looked gray...GRAY! I was very upset but kept it to myself. It must have however been obvious I wasnt happy because the staff was realizing it so they kept coming up telling me how great my hair looked which made me even more upset as I knew they were just telling me that because they knew I was upset. The reason I know that is because my hair looked absolutely NO DIFFERENT as far as hue or color goes. It just looked like I had aged 20 years overnight due to the gray hue it now had...>cont

My visit to the Hair Studio was based on a recommendation from a neighbor and the experience was delightful. My roots were showing and I needed a new style. Jen handled my needs to perfection. I left feeling beautiful and my husband loved the new color. Thanks for a wonderful experience.

Truly one of the best salon experiences I have had in recent years. A friend suggested I try this place after my stylist moved out of town. The staff was helpful and caterered to me in every way. Michelle, my stylist, and I discussed what would look best and the results were wonderful. The atmosphere was refreshing.
