My visit to the Hair Studio was based on a recommendation from a neighbor and the experience was delightful. My roots were showing and I needed a new style. Jen handled my needs to perfection. I left feeling beautiful and my husband loved the new color. Thanks for a wonderful experience.

Truly one of the best salon experiences I have had in recent years. A friend suggested I try this place after my stylist moved out of town. The staff was helpful and caterered to me in every way. Michelle, my stylist, and I discussed what would look best and the results were wonderful. The atmosphere was refreshing.

this is the worst hair color I have got from a salon. I walked into the salon with My color just a shade lighter than my natural hair color... I also had to have a toner added to my hair due to how light the color looked after the girl colored it. I walked out of the salon with dark roots that looked like I had my hair colored weeks ago... they Specialize in Color?

* I have gone to about a dozen different salons in the last few years and have never left with what I really wanted. Most look alright when I left but the color would look way different in the light or I couldnt style it myself. I became content with the thought that I wouldn"t get the hair I wanted with a price I could afford.
I read about Great Hair Studio and decided to give it a try.

I went in with a few pictures and the stylist glanced at it and asked about what sort of highlights I wanted.. I gave a bumbling vague answer because I couldn't quite explain what I meant.

The stylist didn't talk much but was concentrating on my highlights alot. I have a ton of hair and it took a LOONNGG time to put just finish putting the foil highlights on my hair (close to an hour and about 15 or 20 minutes) My hand was tired for her! -- but she concentrated on the precision down to the last one. That impressed me to begin with.

Then there was the washing which was very relaxing. Got a great conditioner treatment that felt terrific and smelled divine.

Finally she cut my hair. Even after she dried and styled it she texturized it and gave me great info about to-do's and when to come in for follow up appointments, etc. Even when her next appointment came in, I still got great one-to-one attention. I left feeling like a supermodel! My hair had so much movement and great color.

An absolute steal for the services! Very reasonable. And I am by no means wealthy :)

The last test of this experience was the 'can I Style it at home' scrutiny. Now, I can be a 'wash it, brush it, and leave it' kind of gal but to my pleasure, my hair still looks great. Seems to fall into place and be no fuss at all!
My Fiance loved it, My friends envy it, and I am basking in the compliments :)

WIth my hectic life as 6th grade teacher and family, hair and spa rarely fit in my schedule. I am so glad I pampered myself and went to Great Hair Studio. My hair a shapeless mousey brown was transformed into a cute and sassy cute with suttle blonde highlights. I got everyone's attention. All my friends wanted to know WHERE DID YOU GO? Great Hair Studio!!! The stylist worked patiently with my to find the right cut and highlights for my hair. She showed me how to blowdry and style. Great profession advice and friendly service.

Patsy created the new look I wanted based on a photo I brought. The style was great and highlights the perfect final touch. I noticed while there that she did Sugaring hair removal, so I scheduled an appointment for my legs, underarms and bikini. The sugaring was a bit painful but very effective, Patsy's personality made the experience much easier to handle. My boyfriend loved the whole new look.

Pros: Patsy was wonderful and the staff very attentive to my needs

Cons: Sugaring hurt but I guess hair removal is painful

I have very curly hair and I tried the Japanese process Bio Ionic and it turned out excellent. My hair wasn't fryed and was actually very healthy in appearance. A completely new look, or should I say Extreme Makeover. Some of my co-workers didn't recognize me, and the compliments abounded. The stylist was fun, patient and knew what she was doing. We spent about 4 hours together, so try to find a stylist you enjoy being with.

I just left my stylist after 6 years and have found a fantastic replcement. Leslie is very much a perfectionist. My Hair Looks better than ever. Best highlights ever.

First let me tell you I am new to San Antonio. Hair salons in general seem to be higher prices than where I am from originally. I used to go to a premier salon back home. I am used to a stylist that can tell you what looks good and what doesn't. Every time I would get my hair cut I would always be pleased and receive many complements on my cut and color. I walked in this salon and it doesn't look as great as I would expect. It looks like a 10 dollar walk-in salon. I almost walked out when I found out I had to sign a form before getting my hair colored. In the end the stylist was very nice but it doesn't make up for the lack of quality she had. I am sure there are good maybe even great stylist there but I was not lucky enough to pick the right one for me... I left the salon with no shape to my hair( a fluff dry job for 160 dollars) for that kind of money I expect to not have to go home and restyle and cut missed pieces. I hope to find the kind of salon I am used to.

I am a stickler about my color. I always look for a Goldwell salon, just because I have received consistent color and highlights with that brand. Anyways, I found this salon on City Search after moving hear from Austin and my experience was exceptional. The staff was friendly and helpful with every aspect from helping me decide which stylist fit my needs to making sure I was completely comfortable and relaxed during my visit. Jen, my stylist, sat with me before beginning and dicussed my cut and color. I was treated to a glass of wine and a parafin hand waxing while my color processed (a very nice treat after a long day). She gave me the color, highlights and cut I wanted. What a great spot, I will be back.

This place was something else. I had a real early morning appt and i get there and there was like no other customers and i still had to wait while they were chit chatting. I had booked for a wash, cut and dry/style. and when the gal who was doing my hair found out, she was like "I dont have time to dry it!" she exclaimed to the front desk gal. I was shocked! then she REAKED like cigarette smoke and i was tellking her i have been trying to grow my hair out, she quipped "Eat right, take vitamins..basically take care of yourself" CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT

Pros: shampoo smelled good

Cons: just rude

I've been going to Great Hair Studio for over a year. The only complaint I have is, I didnt find it sooner. Ive never had a bad hair experience here, and Im very particular. The quality of products have never left my dry or damaged and this is on a consistent basis.

I would like to take the opportunity to let you know what great service Ive received at this salon. I came to Great Hair Studio due to a Color Nightmare created by a previous salon. I wasnt sure if my hair would ever look right again. Luckily, this salon was able to correct the color mistake to make my hair look and feel like it used to be.

I just had my hair done with highlights, lowlights, & a haircut today. I am so pleased with the results! My husband loves my new look. There aren't too many great salons open on Mondays, I was so glad to find that this one is. The staff was so friendly, they greeted me, made me feel welcomed & pampered. The stylist was very confident, attentive, & we had a great conversation. I was offered wine, soda, or water to drink while my hair was processing & a complimentary paraffin wax hand treatment. I was so relaxed & enjoyed my time there. I will keep going back & recommend everyone to go here. I told my husband I saw a gentleman getting his haircut while I was there & he said he's going to start going there too.

artha cuts and styles my hair, my sons hair and daughters hair very well. She always does an EXCELLENT job. I wear my hair long and I have had enough bad experiences to say away from any stylist I dont know. After having Martha cut my sons hair a few times, I decided to let her do mine. I am extremely pleased with her work!

I recently made what for me is a radical decision. I decided to have my hair highlighted - I have never had my hair colored - Martha was the one who did the highlights (which took quite a while considering that my hair is to my waist) she also recommended several hair products that I have been very satisfied with. She is very knowledgeable and skilled at her job, and I would like to say again that I am VERY, VERY pleased!

The Staff at the studio is always very personable and friendly. I am always impressed when staff members remember peoples names - especially since that is not a skill that I possess. Your staff always greets me by name and are always friendly and tolerant during the time that my son decides to act his age.

I must say that being new to the San Antonio area, it was freightening to go to a new salon. I had recently had a bad experience with a stylist in another city, so I was bit apprehensive. I tried Great Hair Studio and was very impressed with my stylist. Debbie was alot of fun and very talented. She listened to my desires and created a style that I loved. I would definitely recommend Debbie for your next haircut.

At first I was very pleased with the hair cut and highlight job that I paid $160 for (not including tip) however upon viewing my hair in the natural light it had a green tint to it. So I returned to the salon to get it fixed and was given a toner and told to come back if I still was not happy. Upon further inspection half of my roots were not even highlighted and the green was gone. I was upset and called to recieve my money back. The receptionest I spoke with told me that was not an option and that I should come back, yes a 3rd time, I explained to her that I did not want to have to return yet again for a service that should have been right on the first visit. She told me there was nothing more to do other than wait for the manager to call me back. I informed her that I had all the intentions of writing a poor review on city search and she replied that I was only one customer. Apparantly the days of one customer being important are long gone, at least at this salon. Also, the manager never returned my call. I did not get what I paid for, and was treated like my business did not matter. I should have ogne to Super Cuts for the $9 special at least their bad serivce comes with a friendly smile and a come back soon. I DO NOT RECOMEND THIS SALON!

Pros: The salon was nice and they waxed my hands to rejuvenate them.

Cons: I paid far to much money for a bad highlight job and was not treated well upon my complaint.

I went in for a haircut today and the amount of information the employee could give me was excellent; virtually every question I could think of was answered. Every worker there was very friendly and welcoming, the service was incredibly efficient, and, as a male, the reading material was just what a male would want to read - a men's magazine (recent GQ), with practical hairstyles, not a catalogue of hair fashion statements from older generations. Would definitely recommend.

Just had a wonderful time. Armando styled and colored my hair just the way I wanted it. He really listened to what I wanted and made some excellent suggestions. The glass of wine added a touch of class to the experience. I will be back.

I was really upset when my hair did not come out even close to what I wanted. The stylist had another client come in so I was stuck with what they gave me. I had another appoinment to re do my hair and get what I wanted. When I arrived I was told that they could not do what I wanted because of what had already been done! Gee thanks.

I have struggled finding a someone that can create the color and hi-lites that I want. After explaining what I wanted, the stylist created the exact coloring I wanted. The staff was friendly and helpful. I will stay with this salon as long as I am in SA.

In doing my hair color research, I found that Goldwell is used in Top Salons in Houston and Dallas. Here in San Antonio I found that the Great Hair Studio used Goldwell color. My roots were touched up and my highlights looked perfect.

Pros: Fair price, clean, talented
