Entertainment and food, with dishes served on flaming skewers from a tropically-inspired menu. Open Evenings.

Editorial by Citysearch

In Short
Rumjungle's cover charge is steep, and the drinks are a tad expensive, even for standard imports like Corona, a glass of cabernet or the club's renowned rum concoctions. But refreshingly, there's not a whiff of the big-city attitude you might expect at a club that draws beautiful people in herds. Walls of fire greet clubbers in front, while sheets of water pour down glass partitions around the room.

Key Points

  • Dinner
  • Drinks
  • Dancing

The Inside Scoop

  1. Look Good - Tennis shoes, sports attire, tank tops and hats are not allowed in the club.

Great food

by Gary M. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 4,001

The food was really good. I don't think I could say enough about it. And the drinks, wow. Really good. A little pricey, but fair for a resturant you have to dress up for. If you stick around for the after hours nightclub, it gets very loud, and very crowded.

Jungle Fever

by Monique R. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 12,130

Rumjungle is how it sounds. The name fits the theme of the restaurant. I actually went around midnight, which it turns into a nightclub. Rumjungle had women hanging off the ceilings on swings. The decor was beautiful and it wasnt too crowded. If you are looking for a chill nightclub, I would recommend RumJungle!

GREAT atmosphere!

by Stephanie P. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 8,272

We absolutely loved the atmosphere of this club/restaurant. The drinks and food are a little pricey--but well in line with the prices of drinks and food in Vegas. We loved the girls dancing in cages and the DJ played the best mix of hip hop music. The walls of water falls added to the atmosphere and the mix of people was great! We had the best time here dancing until 3 AM! Only negative is that it is inside Mandalay Bay which is at very end of the strip.

The ambience here is best.

by jetsetway

Rumjungle is a fun restaurant in Mandalay Bay, known for its selection of 225 rums in the world?s largest rum bar. It serves open fire cooked met in the Brazilian style where they bring unlimited quantities of various varieties right to the table. I happen to like this style a lot, but this particular restaurant was no better than others of a similar vein. As for the food, here in Las Vegas I prefer Samba Gill in The Mirage, or Yolie?s which is just off the strip on Paradise. But the ambiance at Rumjungle is best. Things change at 11 p.m. though. Rumjungle turns in to a very fun night club, featuring Salsa music and dancing. They even have professionals to help teach for those who are interested.

Great Drinks!

by christiet23

This is a place you should visit for the bar and not the food. The bar is spectacular and drinks are great. Of course, you must try the many falvors of rum from all over the world. For food, stick to one of the 20 other places to eat at the hotel. But be sure to have some rum before or after your meal!. Try the pyrat rum, it's our favorite. This is an upscale bar, so the drinks will be more pricey than at other places, but you get what you pay for. Don't visit this bar if only drinking beer, visit this bar for their specialty cocktails and rum.

Not good....at all!!!!!!!!!!

by behc70

Went with friends who heard great thing about it. Everything lacked..taste, value, ambiance, service. Thank goodness we didn't order from the fire pit like our friends. They spent twice as much as us...(125.00 per couple)...The meat was either overcooked, or under cooked and our selection which was crab cakes and chicken skewers was tastless, and the chicken was more like jerky. Our drinks were very tiny and weak and cost 9 buck a piece. I would never waste money there again.

Terrible service

I waited 10 minutes for a hostess to come up to me and seat me. Never came. I walked out. I also tried to sit at a bar in an upper level room and was rudely told that it was closed. I'll never go back.

Monday Nights!!!!

by jro123

Went to rumjungle twice, both times on Monday nights. Got there around 1030 both times- it's a good time to avoid the line/cover, get a drink, take a look around, get a hand stamp. Check out another bar/club and then head back to rumjungle- favorite vegas experience. Great bartenders (you hook them up and they'll hook you up), ample seating(bottle service not required), nice size dance floor, gihugic bars, and a mixed crowd. There were some times when I questioned the dj-but it was interesting to have live percussionists accompany the dj. Will def head back!

Pros: Bartenders, scene, free!

Cons: at times, the dj

Fantastic place and staff!

by redkerr15

Ok, so my husband and i didn't experience Rumjungle the nightclub. But what we did experience late afternoon/early evening during our stay at the Mandalay Bay and on previous stays really did help make our holiday. We first came to Rumjungle 6 years ago and liked it then. This was when we first encountered Greg the "evil" barman. I defy anyone not to be entertained by this guy. We are just back from Vegas and spent some very happy if drunken hours in Rumjungle. If you don't feel like a full meal then grab some of the excellent appetizers. The cocktails are fab. We love the place and will hopefully be back. See you then Greg!

One of my favorite clubs in Vegas!

by dmenkes

I was first introduced to Rumjungle many moons ago and fell in love with it immediately. The waterfalls that separate the club from the restaurant next door have always fascinated me. There are catwalks where girls come out and dance, the music's really cool, and their bathrooms are absolutely disgusting--all hallmarks of a great club! I can't wait to go back...

Not impressed

by dalim80

I went to this club because someone recomended it but I was not impressed. The place is too cramped esp. at the bar area and the dance floor is much too small not typical of a Vegas club. The only good thing was that we didn't wait in line a very long.

nice atmosphere

by specialblendz

this place is a rum drinkers paradise. A huge selection of liquers at the bar, awsome Go Go's that fly overhead on wires and ziplines, and a great set of bongos that live percussionist performs on. Think the dance floor could be a little bigger, but overall its worth checking out.

Pros: arial go go dancers and lots o rum.

Cons: dancefloor and line.

better clubs in Vegas

by cmcasazza

I've been to Rumjungle a few times over the past few years. Not condusive for mingling, dance floor not big enough, drinks way overpriced, and too crowded.

I liked Rain at the Palms much better.

Pros: dancers in cages and drummers

Cons: overpriced drinks, poor crowd control, small dance floor

Excellent for dinner, not so good for clubbing

by juniper420

We had a great meal here, served Cuban style with the meat slow roasted on skewers and then served to you by a very knowledgable server. Our server was very friendly and made sure we were taken care of, even in a very busy restaurant. This place is not for vegetarians, as their is no main course, just skewers of meat brought out in courses, in addition to salads and rice dishes as well. We had several different types of meat and all of them were excellent, tender, some spicy some on the sweeter side. We had all the bases covered with pork, steak, chicken and a divine salmon dish that we couldn't get enough of. The chocolate cigar dessert is a fun novelty dessert, being ice cream and chocolate shaped like a smoking cigar.

That being said, we stayed and ordered bottle service after hours for the club. This place has a big reputation but not a big crowd. It seems the heyday of this uberclub have passed and been replaced by places like Tao and Studio 54. In a tough club market like Vegas one has to stay up on the latest trends to keep the crowd coming in, and Rumjungle has failed to do this. You won't see any celebrities here, it's a been there, done that kind of club. Even though we were VIP we didn't get the treatment we have had sitting VIP in other clubs such as Taboo or Studio 54.

Pros: unique and delicious food, great servers for dinner time

Cons: after hours club is dead!

Pretty good

by enajo

This was the last club that my friends and I went to on a Friday night, so the crowd wasn't as thick as it could have been. Still, we were able to get in for free with no cover, and the music was pretty good. It was unique how that they mixed up-to-date music with accompaniment by a live, house band. A couple of sketchy guys hovered too close, but there were also some nice guys there. Plus, the flowing water, cage dancers, and huge bar provided a lot of good ambience. I would go again.

Pros: Good atmosphere, free water

Cons: A little hard to find

Try the Jambalaya...

by sushinut71

The decor is fun and the food is very good. I tried the jambalaya and, a year later, I'm still thinking about it !! The service was friendly and our waiter went out of his way to keep us comfortable. I highly recommend it as a restaurant. After 11 pm it turns into a dance club that is fun and alive. We had dinner and stayed in so we did not pay a cover charge. Although we did not stay long (I'm not fond of clubs) the music was good and so was the ambiance.

Good food early, but not that much happening in the club

by griester

Was there on Friday night (9/8/06) for dinner. Good quality beef and presentation. Had the Argentian Skirt steak, my friends had the endless fire pit. My steak portion could have feed two people, my bros did their best impression of sumo wrestlers and downed at least 2 lbs. of pork, beef, chicken and lamb.

As for the club, it was only OK. Lots of guys and not much room to sit unless you do bottle service. And if you're going to drop $300 or $400, do it at a rockin club like Ghost Bar, Pure or the Mix. When eating there you get in free later, so worth checking it out late night. Saturday night stuck me head in and the club was going good, but decided to try the Mix.

Pros: Good beef and excellent service for the resto, get in free to club when eating

Cons: Friday night the club as dead average, Saturday night was jumping

Visually Pleasing

by adrilvg

We went here after dinner to start the night out. It looks very appealing from the outside and curiosity makes your step inside. We got there around 10pm and did not have to pay a cover charge. There is a huge 'wall of liquor' that goes up behind the bar at least 30 feet. I never knew that many different kinds existed! I marveled at it as my very kind female bartender echoed in agreement. The 'water and fire' theme is prevalent throughout. There is plenty of seating and it wasn't too crowded yet. The starlit sky bathrooms are especially appealing when you need to take a moment out. I noticed a couple of larger parties and the bar seemed to accommodate them quite well. Drinks are average.

Pros: nice bartender, large seating area

Fire Pit is average

by wallstpup

I finally tried the bottomless fire pit for $40. They brought two flavored rices, beans, and plantains. My wife enjoyed this, but I was here for the meat. It was disappointing. The meat was not very tender, moist, or hot. It is probably due to the warmers they use and a quick roast back in the 'pit'. Their system is not working. The pulled pork was exceptional. The waiter was inexperienced. He could not handle more than one table at once. When a table of 6 got thrown his way he decided to take their drink order, serve them the drinks, and then take their meal order. I tried to get his attention, but he was too focused on them. This took nearly 15 minutes, and I was hungry. Management needs to hire staff that is experienced not just good looking. The decor? - Great use of fire and water.

Pros: atmosphere, pulled pork

Cons: waiter, fire pit

It's an okay place for what it is but it's kind of dated now with all the new, hipper skin bars around. This is NOT where Las Vegas locals go to have a drink right after work.

by krencher1976

I went here a couple of years ago and had a GREAT time...Then I came back last year and it was horrible. Couldn't move, couldn't get a drink and a whole lot of drunks. Music was probably the only positive thing...wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Pros: Music

Cons: , Pricy, Long Lines

trendy does not equal fun

by smilinghappily

it is true that the inside of the rum jungle can give a good l.a. club a run for their money, but the overall scene is a nightmare. try not to go on a night that almost all the areas to meet people outside of the dance floor are not roped off for VIP guests. the scene was super trendy on a saturday night, the wait in line not worth it, and how can you get a drink? the dancers on the cat walk were great and made you feel like you were a star, but the people were rude.

Overrated

by mhtbob

Let's make it an enjoyable place or lets pack the place beyond occupancy just to make 20 bucks a pop?
The answer is, option 2.
Been there before and it was cool, but this last time was just too much, could barely walk, and forget about getting a drink. Now I know why the line wasn't that big. Customer satisfaction = 20 bucks for 15 minutes. That's a great deal huh? This place is done. Go there for the food and then leave to a real club, not a packed zoo.

This place is OVER.

by katsworld23

Girls night out , we had an 8pm reservation for 12 that was confirmed 3 times. Our driver called at 7:55pm to say we would be 5 min late - they said they'd given the table away. They splt us into 2 tables next to the bar! Our group included many entertainment execs, models, lawyers, etc. - not the type that are OK with 2nd class service. But the management wouldn't even help to prevent the stream of losers that kept cruising over to our tables from their bar! The service was AWFUL. The food was cold and incorrect. The manager just kept trying to talk us in to coming back to their club after 11 - You could see why, because the only people there were fat, middle age conventioneers. At they end, we paid our 4 figure bill and agreed we'dl never set foot in there again.

Pros: decent bar menu

Cons: , incompetent managemen, unattractive crowd

Great Party Starter

by ctcowboy

Three of us went in on a Friday afternoon for a drink before driving a friend to the airport. After the first drink, I told my friend to take a taxi. After the second drink, my friend changed his flight to leave the next day. I never had better bartenders anywhere than Greg and Tony at the Rumjungle. Go in there and do not order your own drinks but trust them to prepare drinks for you and you will leave with new friends and great memories.

What a Disappointment!

by travelgal

We went on a Thursday night, and my friends and I were so disappointed! I called ahead and was assured there was a coat check; when we got there, we were told the coat check is only on Fridays and Saturdays. The bar and dance floor were surprisingly empty all night. The alleged "beautiful people" definitely weren't there on the night we went, and many people were underdressed. We also got the worst waitress in the bar. She obviously wanted to be a go-go dancer, not a waitress, as she was too busy dancing by herself to come to our table. When we finally got her attention, she was rude and sarcastic. The music was a good mix of hip-hop and house and the interior is great, but our experience was disappointing. If you want a great club packed with attractive, well-dressed young people, go to Rain at The Palms.

Pros: great interior decor, good variety of music

Cons: , overpriced, empty

by ashes54

Prior to going to Vegas everyone told me to go to Rumjungle...that it was soooooo fun! I think its a cool place with cool atmosphere and a neat bar, but its not worth the $20 cover, which is probably so steep because they have 12 GoGos out there at a time. The dance floor is really small and you cant bring drinks on it. Not a very friendly crowd, and not some place to dance the night away. Go if you want, but its not a neccessity.

Pros: Neat bar, Decent music

Cons: Steep cover charge, No drinks on D floor, Small dance floor

I went here on a Saturday night with my dad...Yes my dad...We had a VIP table and our service was great...Our waitress Nicole was very attentive as well as GREAT at recommending the different rum concoctions that I would like based on what I told her...Never had an empty glass (me or my dad)...Ashtray never stayed dirty for more than 5 minutes...The tropical sound the drum players give to the Hip Hop music was extrodinary...Security was attentive with escorting you through the crowds to the front of the bath room line...ALL and ALL an EXCELLENT NIGHT (except when I fell down..........)

Pros: Good Music, Excellent Wait Staff, Exquisite Drinks

Ripoff Jungle

by rquinn45

Rumjungle is terrible. I understand the whole tipping thing in Vegas, and I'm fine with that. BUT you have to draw the line when a place like rumjungle tries to get people to tip to go to the bathroom!!! The line was so long, and the bathroom so small there was no way we could stay and keep tipping meathead bouncers to use the stall. How does this place stay afloat when you can't even bring drinks on the dancefloor. What a joke of a place. Don't make the mistake of ever going to rumjungle.

Cons: Tiny Bathroom, No Drinks Dance Floor, Too Small

by sanfrangrrl

From the outside, it looks really tempting, but once you go in, your $20 cover charge goes down the drain! The atmosphere is great, loved the lights and decor. Bar service wasn't impressive, their drinks sucked and was overpriced! The dancefloor was really small and the DJ's didn't even know how to mix songs together. It's just a good place to sit down and drink with your friends, not a great place to dance.

Pros: nice people, nice atmosphere

Cons: expensive drinks, unexperienced DJ's, small dancefloor

I was in town over memorial day weekend and me and my boys decided to go check out rumjungle. BIG MISTAKE as soon as we arrived to the casino we were told by some young ladies RUMJUNGLE SUCKS!!! , sorry girls we should of listened . So we wait in line we pay a cover which , As soon as we walk through the door we were crammed like sardines and the doorman states move along we have to get people through, There wasnt any place to sit let alone stand . Its was so bad we left 20 min, after arriving. would just think these club patrons should worry more about people having a good time rather then lets over charge them and cram them into a club like sardines, I will NEVER ever visit a this place again. I love going to rumjungle before it turns into a nighclub, it is a very cool place to have some drinks and eat. However as far as a nighclub goes it overpriced for drinks, even by LV standards, the dance floor is quite small, and all those acrobats twirling around is in my opinion so cheesy. I would say Rain, Ra or Studio 54 are a lot better and you'll have more fun.

Fewer Pit

by nalgar

Good place but the Fire Pit on the menu was just too disappointing. I was the only one in a party of 4 who foolishly succumbed to the waiters suggestion to try the Fire Pit in which I am supposed to get a taste of every kind of meat they served in this place. Everyone in my group has chowed down their plates and I am still waiting for sample meat number 4. In short, my appetite was gone by the time they could complete their cycle. The skewer girls were just too damned slow and this was supposed to be their menu's main attraction? Avoid the fire pit at all cost.

Cons: Slow skewer girls

Great Food, Hot Night Out

by pcbestill

Wow, couples and singles -- get here quick. Loved the Brazilian type dish we had. The hostesses are really cool and they treat you like a star. We got there a bit early -- around 8pm or 9pm before it converted itself into a bar with a cover charge. Earlier we had cosmos at the Russian-type Vodka bar next door and then jotted next door for Rumjungle -- dinner. It was our first visit and its the place to wear black, be cool, be Vegas!, drink and eat alot and get your groove on. You won't leave here disappointed!
