Sore back? Stiff neck? Aching muscles? Low energy? Infertility? Skin problems? Stress, tension? Feeling heavy, depressed? Sluggish? Body not responsive? Then try Tui-Na, Qi-Gong and acupuncture. We practice these traditional forms of therapeutic massage, used in China for over 2,500-years. They've been known to treat all these problems and more. Tui-Na and Qi-Gong can be performed lightly, but are more effective when done as deep-tissue-style massage. Acupuncture is effective for a wide variety of conditions, including infertility and addictions, including smoking and alcohol. Our staff includes doctors, as well as licensed and certified massage therapists. We also practice 'Ho Guan' or 'cupping therapy'. This is an extremely effective form of deep-tissue acupressure, popularized by Gwyneth Paltrow (See the New York Post, July 9, 2004)

This place is shady

by L D.

I booked an hour long massage at this place because it was near two places I had other appointments. I booked this massage because I had just run the marathon and needless to say the front of my legs were rather sore. I mentioned this to both the receptionist at the front desk and the masseuse. The masseuse did my backside including my legs, then my front including my chest and arms. I was looking forward to having my front legs massaged like you can't imagine but just then the masseuse mentioned that my time was up and would I like to continue. I was like what??? She agreed to give me a little bit on my legs for free but unfortunately I couldn't stay much longer because of my next appointment. Personally I think she did it on purpose since she knew my legs were hurting and she thought I'd just say sure to continue more for more money. I mentioned to the receptionist at the front desk that I'd never had an hour long massage that didn't cover the front of my legs and particularly it should have been done since I mentioned it. She said that she was sorry that sometimes there was a miscommunication and that she could offer me a 50% discount. I said that was fine and felt better but I mentioned that I had wasted my time and would need to book another massage (elsewhere). In the end she said that she had actually said a 15% discount. That's what I was supposed to get anyway from being a first-time customer according to their website and some of the other reviews here. If you ask me, this place is shady.

they short you on the time

by billiams77

I've gotten massage and acupuncture treatments from this establishment for years with no problems or complaints. But the last three times I've been there they have cheated me out of at least ten minutes. I've set up hour long appts each time and arrived on time each time I waited in the front room and the massage table for my massage, and each time I took time to dress, and each time an hour had elapsed at the time of my payment, which meant that my waiting time and dressing time came right out of my massage time. The massueses seems hurried and rather factory like-- though the massage was good--but it seems that they are more interested in getting people in and out than providing services for the time you pay for. I'm going to give them one more try, and if they attempt to short me again I'll never return and will report the problem on this site.

Pros: good massage

Cons: they cheat you out of time

an amazing acupuncturist

by varmstrong65

firstly, I want you to share in my happiness. I am such a lucky person. let me to tell you my story.
I have suffered from headache and migraine for two years that is progressive and really makes my life worse and worse. In the past six months, I almost have headache every day, and when i have headache or migraine, i need take painkillers and those dosage is gradually increased. I clearly know what side-effect from the medications, but i could stop it because with horrible headache and migraine i also experience nausea, fear some lights and sounds, very agitated, some nights i completely could not sleep except crying. this situation has been lasting utill I heard about Dr.Li, who is a acupuncturist, from my friend, she tell me I should go toe see Dr. Li, she believes Dr.Li certainly can help me. However, I still doubt it because I have tried a bunch of doctors. Three weeks ago, the worst migraine attacke push me to see Dr. Li, which is my last hope. But an unbelievable thing happened. After 3 treatments, my "enemy" was utterly defeated. Beyond imagination, the following two weeks, I have even forgotten that I used to have a bad migraine.

Pros: good acupuncture treatment !

Massage and facial

by Superman007

It was my first time at Asia Tui-Na and I found my experience to be relatively good. I went in for the 60 minute massage and facial.

The massage was great. It wasn't too deep, nor too soft. It was a bit painful at times, but it was due to my tight muscles.

It was my first time getting a facial and I wasn't overly impressed, though my face was really dry and the next day, soft.

My two complaints are: I was freezing during the facial. The towel isn't sufficient. And she quit about 10-15 minutes early, so I didn't get the full 120 minutes that I paid for.

Pros: Price is reasonable

Cons: Was not the full 120 minutes

Wow.... amazing hands....

by elise1688

After working in front of a computer 10-14 hours a day I go to this place to loosen up my neck , back and shoulder about once a month. The girl MAY know exactly were the go for . The fact that it's open till 10:00 pm just can't be beat.

Those of you who liked your massage with good amount of pressure would probably agree that in most places, regardless of price, the masseus either don't put enough pressure, try to move away from the shoulder, or use elbow instead of fingers. But May know exactly how much pressure to use. WOW !!!! I was amazed . I don't need to tell her much and she was able to locate my pressure point and all my knots.

It's a hole in the wall. it's not a day spa. But if you slept on the wrong side or need your shoulder fixed so you can go to work the next day, this is the place where you can get all the knot and tight feeling out .... AAAA+++++

I will tell all my frds and co -workers.

Pros: great place , great price ,

Cons: none....

Literally saved my neck!

by Wendy81

I saw the review saying that the customer didn't get the full time paid for. That certainly didn't happen to me - it was full, fair time to the minute, and the place was busy at the time too!

Anyway, I had a stiff and sore neck. Tension, working, and a 5-mile run turned stiffness into a burningly sharp pain. One hour (full 60 minutes :-) ) along with some fragrant Chinese medicinal oil and the pain and stiffness were gone! I like the feeling of this place. As others have said, it's not opulent. It's down-to-earth and kind of honest, looking like a doctor's office designed by a feng shui master. The massage was quite strong - here's a tip: this isn't your Central Park chair-massage back-rub. Tell the therapist beforehand if you want your tui-na light, medium or strong. Their default is on the strong side!

Pros: Knew the body, one visit made my pain go away

Cons: Therapist didn't speak much English (no chit-chatting)

Worst Experience Ever

by yohagopelo

I have been coming to Asia Tui-Na for almost two years. The massages are usually ok, not great, but at $55 an hour, you really can't complain. This place is a couple of blocks from my office, so for convenience, I go about once every 3 weeks. After my experience today, I will NEVER go again. The masseuse I had, Linda, was extremely rough - her massage style was fast & hard. 3 times I asked her to please be more gentle, and it only seemed to fuel her fire. I actually cried out in pain twice (after the 3 times asking her to be more gentle). The whole experience was extremely uncomfortable and I lay there with my eyes open, staring at the floor. Suddenly she left the room....and the person who returned to finish the job was different - completely different shoes/toenail polish. Seriously? Seriously. The 2nd person was a little better, and she finished the massage. When it ended, I checked my watch....hmmm, my 60 minute massage was actually barely 50 minutes. Mind you, it was awful, so I wasn't too upset it ended early, but 1) I have always thought their massages seemed fast, this was the first time I timed it 2) they were charging me for 60 minutes. When I went upfront to pay, I informed the receptionist that the massage had not lasted for an hour. She simply shrugged her shoulders and asked me for payment. When I inquired as to why I had to pay for 60 minutes when I only got a 50 minute massage, she rolled her eyes and offered me a $5 discount. This made me even more agitated, so I decided to share with her how awful my massage was. She simply said "okay". I will never go back - I'd much rather go out of my way to Graceful Services (which is wonderful) or pay the extra money & head to Bliss - at least those places know how to treat people. Avoid this place if you can - it is not worth it. If you are trying to get an inexpensive massage, there are plenty of other places.

Pros: reasonably priced

Cons: awful service, awful massage

Acupuncture for Endometriosis

by fabibrazil

I am 28 years old and I had a surgery for endometriosis 4 years ago.
Two months ago my pain was back and my doctor said that I had to do another surgery since he felt that my tubes were stuck again as it was prior the surgery.
So, I decided to try acupuncture with Dr Li!! It was the best thing I have done!!
Since I started the acupuncture and the tea, I didn't fell any pain during periods. I went to my regular doctor and he said that my clinical exams, blood exams (CA125), MRI and USG are all good enough!!! I don't have anything related to endometriosis anymore. So I don't need to have another surgery!!
Thank you, Dr Li!!!

"Cold" uterus

by eday810

I am a 40 year old woman who's been pregnant twice this year, but had miscarriages both times at 3 weeks. I was desperate to get pregnant, so a friend suggested that I go see Dr. Li. She checked my pulse and tongue and said that my uterus was too "cold" for the embryo to survive. I didn't really know what she meant, but she gave me acupuncture and herbal treatments for a month. At the end of the month, I was pregnant. Now I am still getting treatments, and I'm in my 12th week of pregnancy. My OBGYN says that my baby's heartbeat is normal and appears very healthy. I am not sure what a "cold" uterus means, but if you have the same problem, be sure to go and see Dr. Li.

Cured my headaches!

by terminatorgal

The economic climate has been getting to me - for the last several months I've had a chronic headache, stiff neck, sore shoulders and upper back. I work at a computer all day. Someone suggested massage so I looked for a place in my neighborhood. I had a 1-hour massage and at the end of the session, all these symptoms were gone! There were some tender muscle areas the next day, but a healthy feeling. The therapist told me a very interesting thing - she wondered if I sat at work with my shoulders raised upwards a bit. I checked the next day, and I do! Very observant! So I will work on that, which could explain the chronic sore areas. And I'll definitely come back here if it happens again!!

Pros: Simple, direct, it worked

Cons: A little strong, but I hear that's tui-na

Cured my injury

by robertknapp612

A few weeks ago, I hurt my lower back while I was working out at the gym. I was in extreme pain and couldn't walk straight. The limping and pain was disrupting my work, so a colleague referred me to Dr. Li. I have to admit I was a bit scared at first because Dr. Li used 3 needles on my scalp, but it wasn't really very painful. I got up and walked around, and already I could feel the pain alleviating. I knew it must have been the acupuncture because I wasn't taking and painkillers or other medication. Then Dr. Li used more needles on my back and electric stimulation. She ended the session by using cupping (a technique where vacuum suctioned cups are placed at the area of inflammation). On the way home from the clinic, my back was already feeling 70% better. I went back for 2 more sessions, and afterwards the pain disappeared. It was amazing, I couldn't believe that the pain would go away so fast. It has really helped me get rid of an annoying problem quickly and go back to working out. In the past, I would have needed 2 or 3 weeks to recover from a similar back pain. With Dr. Li's help, I was better in less than a week!

Post-surgery help!

by kymillernyc

A while ago, my doctor discovered that I had a huge fibroid in my uterus. He said that i needed surgery to remove it. Although I'm 37, I had never had surgery before, so I was really nervous going into it. After the surgery, I began to feel sharp stomach pains that just wouldn't go away. I was very very scared, so i went to my doctor and asked what was wrong. He told me that I still had adhesion of the scar tissue from the surgery, and that I would require a second surgery to remove the scar tissue if my pain did not go away. But my pain certainly was not going away, and it got so bad that I couldn't even stand up straight. Desperate for alternatives to ANOTHER surgery, I went to Dr.Li for help. After just one treatment with her, I was already feeling 60% better, and could finally stand up straight again. After 5 treatments, I was completely healed, and my doctor said that I wouldn't need a second surgery. I was never fond of surgeries, and this experience certainly did not improve m y impression of it. So I'm very thankful for Dr.Li's alternative methods that helped me avoid another surgery.

Helps with IVF!

by jzamenski

Me and my husband have been trying to have a baby for almost 10 years now. When I was still in my 30s, I got pregnant once (after years of trying), but it turned out to be a miscarriage. Although I was disappointed, my husband and I decided to keep on trying. However, After I reached 45, we realized that the chance for a natural pregnancy was slim. So we decided to try IVF. The first three times were also big disappointing fails. After the third failed attempt, my friend referred me to Dr. Li. She used treatments to accompany my follicle stimulating hormones. Although my infertility doctor harvested many mature follicles, only one was fertilized during the IVF process. I thought that this would be another failure, but with Dr. Li's further treatments, this one fertilized egg actually implanted successfully. I am nearing the end of my first trimester now, and my OBGYN says everything still looks healthy. Without Dr. Li's help, I am not sure if that one little egg would have succeeded.

High FSH Levels

by techgeekvc

I am 38 years old and had been trying to get pregnant naturally for a couple of years. When I went to see my OBGYN, she informed me that my FSH levels were too high. My 18 FSH level was too high and unfavorable for a natural pregnancy. She advised me to try IUI as an alternative option, and maybe even IVF. First, however, she informed me that I had to find some way to get my FSH level down, before any of the alternative options would work. A friend referred me to Dr. Li. After 2 months of treatment, I got retested, and found that my FSH level was now only 9.5. I proceeded to try IUI for the first time. Although the IUI failed, the doctor had said that it was a problem with the spermcells, not the egg or uterus. So I tried the IUI again, and it worked like a charm. My beautiful baby is now 2 months old, and I could not be more grateful to Dr. Li for helping me achieve this miracle. I recommend her treatments for anyone with high FSH problems trying to get pregnant. These treatments are painless and very effective.

Pros: Attitude, Service

good massage...great value

by slrob

Is this the best massage I've ever gotten? No. But they do a good job at getting a lot (not all) of the knots out and it is a firm (but not painful) massage by skillful masseuses. The office itself is extremely clean and professional, unlike many other places offering this type of massage at the same prices. I have been about 5 times and was satisfied enough by the experience. My only complaint is that I feel relaxed at the end of it by they haven't gotten out all the knots and two days later it's as if I hadn't gotten a massage at all.

Pros: cheap, great hours, good massage

Cons: wish they could get all the knots out after an hour long session

Infertility Treatments

by fullman73

A week ago I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. I never thought that I would be lucky enough to be a mother and had given up all hope until I met Dr. Li. She really has made my dream come true. I had wanted a child for so long, but doctors said that my chances at pregnancy were very slim due to my extremely high FSH levels. I went to another acupuncturist before Dr. Li for half a month, but it had no effect on my fertility. Then one day I came to Asia Tui-Na for a massage and met Dr. Li. After four months of treatment with Dr. Li, I became pregnant last October, and have had a very smooth pregnancy. And now here I am, 10 months later, with this bundle of joy. I would recommend every hopeful mother who is having trouble getting pregnant to Dr. Li.

Pros: prices, practitioner's attitude

Cons: environment

Great massage...Great price!!!

by Laurenm2008

My boyfriend and I recently found this place and decided to give it a go. The atmosphere is not fancy but it is cute and quaint. The rooms are set up for several people devided by curtains. I could not see through the curtain. Overall the massages were very strong, kind of painful but well worth it, after you feel like jello. Also you really can't beat the price. I would deffinetly go again. Anyone try accupuncture for back pain, I'm wondering if it works.

Pros: Great massage if you like it strong! Great prices!

Cons: could have better privacy, not seperate rooms just curtains

Yest Infections

by veronicanyc0

I have had yest infections for about 7-8 years now, and they've always come and go. Sometimes it's not so bad, but sometimes the breakouts are pretty bad. My doctor has prescribed me antibiotics every breakout. During every breakout, I have incredible pain and itchiness along with an UTI, which sometimes leads to fevers and backaches. It also gives me mood swings. During the worst breakouts I often take a month of antibiotics to get rid of it. Then I went to Dr. Li's clinic to get treatment. She prescribed herbs to ingest and to douche my genital area with and used acupuncture. Usually I get breakouts most in the summer, but so far this summer I have not gotten any yet, and it's probably due to the acupuncture treatments.

Painful Period

by ghnyc

For the last few years, I've always had very painful periods with very hard cramps. Last year, my OBGYN diagnosed me as having endometriosis. It's gotten worse year by year. This year, I've started spotting every month after ovulation and getting extreme cramps a week before my period. The pain got so bad that I needed painkillers to control the cramps. I also had very bad PMS and migraines. In April, I went to go see Dr. Li right after I had one of my periods. She treated me with acupuncture and herbs. The next month, I didn't see any spotting, and the cramps and PMS were a lot more mild. During my next cycle in May, I had no spotting at all, and the cramps had completely went away. I was treated with acupuncture for twice a week for two cycles, and I'm continuing the herbal treatment. Since May, I haven't had any cramps or spotting, so I think that this treatment really works!

Pros: Staff attitude, Price

Cure for Habitual Miscarriages!

by cslater0

I am 35 years old and have had 3 continuous miscarriages. The first pregnancy was only 3 weeks long. The second was 7 weeks, and the third was 15 weeks. After the 3rd pregnancy, I could not get pregnant for a whole year. I was desperate to get pregnant and stay pregnant and went to see my OBGYN. He said the circumstances didn't look good, and that I should turn to alternative medicine. Dr. Li treated me with both acupuncture and herbs for 4 more months. I got pregnant after the 4 months, but I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to stay pregnant, so I kept going to Dr. Li and she continued to treat me with acupuncture sessions. The treatments stopped after 18 weeks, and I am still pregnant now at 21 weeks. I went back to my OBGYN and he said the sonogram looked great.

I recommend Dr. Li for any woman who has a similar problem to me. She is very honest and down to earth. She never gave me false hope and always reminded me of the risks. She really cares about her patients and treats everyone extremely carefully, which really made me feel comfortable.

Best, most consistent massages I've ever gotten

by TheLastMan

I've been having back problems on and off for years. I've gotten massages during that time and, though they've offered temporary relief, they never felt like they were addressing the fundamental tension and alignment problems I have in my back. That is until I tried Asia Tui Na. Their massage is intense, yes, but I always leave feeling like the knots and tension in my back, neck, and shoulders have been worked out in a way that will last. I've been going regularly (about once a week) for a while now and have been noticing my posture improving and my flexibility increasing in general. I sit at a desk all day and build up a lot of stress and tension in my back and neck, so this has been a godsend.
A word of caution- they definitely dig deep here. Be prepared to have some intense work done, but it will be well worth it. For me, it is life-changing, since the back pain that I have lived with for years is finally starting to subside in a way that feels permanent.
If you have serious back, neck, or shoulder issues, this is the place to visit. If you feel like asking for a specific therapist, I wholeheartedly recommend Wendy. She's a first-rate pro.

Pros: Very deep, transformational massage- affordable.

Cons: none

Spot on!

by d8yamgirl

I came here for stiff shoulders and an aching neck. I work in graphic design and stare at a computer screen - year in and year out. In one session, Wendy was able to loosen all the crinks. I learned that you can be stiff in places you don't know, but they all matter. Wendy knew all the points! And I'm coming back on a regular basis! The environment is clean, smells good and is run very efficiently.

Pros: good price, appt on time, no nonsense

Cons: no branch in Flushing

I'm gonna tell my Marine buds about this!

by calisemperfi

A fellow Marine back in Cali told me about this place, and I came here while I was on leave from Camp Pendleton. My lower back was still aching from a 10-day field exercise, so they recommended Lisa, who I was told is one of the strongest tui-na therapists in New York. Wow! She might be stronger than me, but knew when to ease up too and listened to me. I felt great immeiately! I wonder if they can bring this Chinese therapeutic art to a Marine base....

Pros: fast service and inexpensive

Cons: Couldn't think of any

Good Massage -No Privacy - No common sense

by Jimmordi

They do give a great ,deep massage: I left feeling relaxed.

However, the lack of privacy - one common room separated by curtain dividers - was compounded by the therapist having extended conversations with other therapists in the next area. What made it even worse is that each would step around the curtain to talk to each other. Here I am lying half-naked and these two therapists are having a conversion around me as if I were a box of pizza lying on the table.

Life-saver!

by nyc_mary617

Me and my husband have always wanted a baby, but we tried everything and nothing worked. I am 41 years old, and I have tried 11 IUI's and 6 IVF's before turning to alternative medicine. A friend recommended me to go see Dr. Li. She was very warm and helpful during our consultation session. After 2-3 months of acupuncture and herbal treatments, I tried IVF again and this time, it worked. My husband and I are very happy and grateful to Dr. Li. After years of trying, our wish has finally come true. I am now 4 months pregnant and both my baby and I are very healthy. Dr. Li has really changed my life for the better.

Carpal Tunnel

by computerfreek

I work with the computer a lot at my job and earlier this year I developed Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. My wrist was bothering me all the time. Overtime I started to feel a burning sensation and my wrist even swelled up. I finally decided to try some acupuncture treatment. After consulting with Dr. Li, we started treatment right away. After 4 or 5 sessions, my wrist began to get better. After 10 sessions, I was completely cured. Dr. Li has saved me a lot of trouble. I was skeptical about eastern medicine, but this stuff really works!

Horrible and painful

by ninjagoddess

This was the worst massage I have ever had, but you might like it if you like your back rubs very painful. The masseuse kept massaging the knots behind my shoulder blades really hard, even after i told her three separate times that it was too hard. She spent so much time--very painfully!-- massaging behind my shoulder blades, that she ran out of time before finishing my legs and actually told me it was over! I had also asked for reflexology, and they forgot to tell her, so when I told her at the end of the massage, she quickly pounded my feet and said it was done. I have visible bruises on my back today. I would completely avoid this place. Totally unprofessional.

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Unprofessional, painful

cures migraines!

by citygal081

Ten years ago, when I was 18, I started having huge migraines. Over time, I started getting them everyday, mostly in the morning. They were worst right before I got my period and I was nauseous a lot. I tried a lot of painkillers and a lot of western medicine that my doctor prescribed me, but none worked. Then a friend recommended that I try alternative medicine and referred me to Dr. Li. It was amazing! Just after one session, my pain reduced by 50 %. After 4 sessions and 3 more maintainance sessions, I was completely better. Now, all the migraines are gone. The atmosphere of Asia Tui-na is so warm and friendly, and Dr. Li really takes the time out to listen to each specific case. She can really work wonders! I recommend this clinic to everyone with medical conditions that are affecting their lives. I thought my migraines were uncurable, but now they no longer control my life, all thanks to Asia Tui-na!

Acupuncture literally saved my face

by j888evans

I couldn't believe it. I came to New York on a long vacation from Singapore to see my daughter. During this time my face developed a strange distortion and contraction. My left eye was squeezed shut. My cheeks, chin and mouth were twisted down to the left. It was painful, and very hard to eat and to speak. I had to drink liquids only. On my daughter's computer we looked on Google, which led me to Citysearch, and to this place. Dr. Li applied acupuncture twice a week over a course of 4 weeks. I actually extended my vacation for a month just to do this therapy , it was working so well. My face relaxed and got better each time until the problem was 99% gone. I can now eat, sleep and talk. I'm now relaxing more and the 1% has melted away. Dr. Li is so kind, understanding, and a great communicator!

Pros: convenient location, comfortable atmosphere

Cons: none

Just like home in Taipei!

by bggirl82

I'm in grad school at NYU from Taiwan. My body felt stressed a few weeks ago from finals and weather change. In Taipei our family would go to local tui-na practitioners. And this is just like I remember. The place is clean and smells good too. It's like massage in English, but very old - and it made my body feel right again. Too bad I have to go home for summer!

Pros: Traditional Chinese style, not expensive, fast service

Cons: none

You won't believe it

by hookedonegames

-This is just what I needed for some major shoulder pain. I play competitive electronic online games, and some days I'll sit hunched over the keyboard and game controls for 14-16 hours at a stretch. My shoulders and neck can way stiff, painful and immobile. A friend heard about tui-na so I googled it and Asia Tui Na came up. I tried it once and was able to get back to my gaming pain free. Now I get a tui-na touch-up every week.

Pros: It works better than I expected

Amazing!!

by pearlypg

This gem of a place is right next to my workplace, and I finally chanced upon it. The massage was excellent. I usually don't like too much pressure and communicated that to the person doing the massage. She did put pressure on some parts because my knots were not coming off, but it all felt great. I highly recommend this place. However, this is not one of the fancy spas. It has curtains separating "rooms", and you can hear all the noise. Also, it helps to make sure that the curtain is closed properly between "stalls" because you could be butt-naked and the person next door could see you before his/her massage starts. Other than that, this is a great place to get a massage done, if that is exactly what you are looking for.

Pros: Good massage, cheap

Cons: Decor (but what can one expect given the prices)

Good Massage

by siuloanbao

I've been to many massage places and spas in and out of Manhattan (some in Asia as well) and this place did stand out because the therapist knew what she was doing, able to find my knots and really worked on it. Most therapists only go through the motion and add no value. Although it was quite painful, she worked out my knots on my shoulder and I'm going there again this weekend (last time I went was couple months ago.)

You can't find decor, luxe and much privacy here but if you're really tired and need a good massage, I'd highly recommend this place. There's another place I go to in Flushing for reflexology but they are not that good at body massage.

Pros: Effective, Economical

Cons: The towels could be cleaner

Amazing massage and price

If you are looking for a massage and not a back rub this is the place. Not fancy, but clean. Highly recommend!

Painful but Effective

by sweetsnax

My husband and I tried out Asian Tui-Na for the first time and we were very happy with the experience. With the CitySearch Coupon, we paid $98 for TWO one hour massages. That's cheaper than one massage at most places in Manhattan! Be warned though that the massages can be painful unless you ask for a gentler massage (which my husband did). I have some injuries from a car accident, so I liked the deep (and sometimes painful) massage. Two days later, I am still a bit sore from the massage, but the kinks and tension are gone. I will definitely go back.

Pros: Good Value, Good Massage, Very Clean Facilities

Cons: No private rooms (curtains separate each massage station)

Wonderful massages

by cristina625

My boyfriend and I went to this massage parlor for an indulgence around New Year's Eve. They are tucked a bit away so you have to know what you are looking for but this place surely is a gem. We both got 1 hour long massages and walked away feeling wonderful and refreshed. They got out every knot that I've had in my back because it is clear that their professionals are well trained and skilled unlike some other Manhattan spas I've had the displeasure of going to (::ahem:: Serenity AVOID).

Just a word to the wise, if you are an athlete you can handle these very strong and firm massages. Otherwise let them know ahead of time that you prefer gentle massages before you build up to the deep tissue treatment they give. I would recommend them to anyone in Manhattan or just visiting!

Pros: very professional, wonderful atmosphere, thorough massages

Cons: can be hard to find

Alcoholism - never thought I would write this

by bootsnjeans

I'm amazed, but acupuncture really has helped my cravings for drink go away. I was drinking every night, and drunk 3 to 4 nights a week. I was suffering memory loss and loss of mental focus at work. I signed up for 10 treatments. After the first treatment, my craving was less. After the 2nd treatment, I was going 2 to 3 days without a drink. I'm writing this after the 3rd visit, and I can't believe it - I've gone a week without a drink. I look forward to the rest of the visits. I've looked into this, and see that it's good for other addictions too. I'm going to tell my friends who understand....

Highly recommended!

Pros: Enviroment, care and attention

Outstanding - Acupuncture Does Work!

by hoowah888

In April, after an eye exam, my optometrist told me that I was suffering from pressure on my eyes. My optometrist had given me drops to combat the pressure in my eyes, which after using for awhile helped somewhat. However, the medication left my eyes red and a follow-up exam a few months later revealed that the eye pressure had increased. This problem along with stress and what may have been the onset of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in my right wrist, led me to begin researching acupuncture and if it could benefit me. I searched many sites, including Citysearch. That?s were I came across Asia Tui-Na Wholeness. The reviews regarding it were favorable and since it is within walking distance from my job, I decided to call and set up a meeting. I met with Dr. Li and after a medical consultation, she started the acupuncture session. After that first hour long session, I felt relaxed and the pain in my wrist had lessened. After my second session, my eyes were feeling much better and the pain in my wrist was gone and hasn?t returned. After my third session, there was a follow-up eye exam and to my surprise, my optometrist told me that the eye pressure had decreased greatly, and I noticed that the red eyes that I suffered from have cleared up. I continue to receive acupuncture sessions each week and they always leave me feeling very relaxed. Also, I have found that in addition to helping relieve my stress and pain, I have a new found energy. Thank you, Dr. Li and thank you, Asia Tui-Na!

Pros: Skill of Dr. Li, professionalism of staff, clean facilities, relaxing atmosphere, great price and flexible hours.

Great Deep Tissue Work but...

by nyctimes

I love deep tissue massage and they did a wonderful job on that;however, their space was lack in privacy. I could not relax throughout my session. I do not recommend this place if you are looking for relaxing bodywork in a quiet room with candles and music. You might like this place if you want to get rid of your muscle tension in your neck or back.

Pros: cheap price and great deep tissue work
Cons: noisy, no privacy atmosphere.

Bizarre Experience

by potterqueen

You can't beat the price that's for sure. But the experience is a little off. The curtains separating the treatment rooms is pretty casual, but worse is the therapist talking on her cell phone with her blue tooth while she works on you. I found the massage too rough and asked her to lighten her touch a little, but that was hard for her to do. I left very sore and slightly bruised, as well. I guess I need a massage to be softer and more relaxing.

Pros: Great price

Cons: Too much pressure, too casual space

The strongest massage in Manhattan!!

by emtee52

I have chronic stress which manifests from my neck, shoulders and mid-back. I manage it with long distance running and massage. After the NY Marathon I tried Asia Tui Na. They have a therapist Lisa, who I must say gives the strongest, most deep-tissue massage I've ever had. And they gave me the full 60-minute hour, not 50 minutes like some salons do. I feel great. Amazing!

Good points: best deep tissue / quick service / good value

Bad Points: (none)

Dynamite Deep Tissue

by bexak

This no frills massage is a find! I was sore the next day (an expected side effect of deep tissue work) but the results are amazing! My masseuse (Lisa) worked muscles and tension I didn't realize I had (in the scalp!!). The price is so reasonable and the staff has done a very nice job of curtaining off each area for a more private experience. The music creates a calming atmosphere.

Pros: cost, skill of staff, attention to trouble spots

Cons: semi-private, more doctor's office-like than spa-like atmosphere

Facial acupuncture removed my acne!

by eastsidegirl06

I had read reports about facial rejuvenation in the media. I wanted to try it myself because of a severe acne condition I'd had for years. Dr. Li prescribed a course of acupuncture combined with herbal medicine and dietary recommendations. After 6 weeks, the subcutaneous swelling had gone down and the surface of my face was clear and smooth. I look and feel so much better!

Pros: Dr. Li is a great healer and she's nice to talk to!

The best got better!

by smallsharon

This was my first visit since their move a few months ago. Their crisp new offices are even cleaner, like a doctor's office. And the service is prompt and personable. I've had different kinds of massages in New York, from expensive half-day spa affairs to the $10 chair-backrubs in Central Park. But for renewed energy and pain-relief, Asia Tui-Na's deep-tissue style is still the best!

Pros: A lot for a little $$

Cons: Pls put a branch in Queens!

Wow! Professional!

by yeegirl

I was customer at Asia Tui Na's first location half a block away, and also at some other Chinese massage places in the city. I've never seen one like this new location is different - like a professional doctor's suite with Chinese decor. Same reasonable prices and fantastic massage and cupping as they had before. I always come out feeling calm and energized. There are offices for the acupunture doctor and a philosophical-spiritual counselor, both Ph.D.'s. Maybe I'll try sometime.

Pros: Atmosphere, cleanliness, professionalism

Cons: I live in Flushing, very far away!

best massage in NYC

by missywilson

After the reviews, I decided to give this place a shot. The prices were cheap and I made and appointment late and at the last minute.

All I have to say is don't go looking for some sort of rubbydubBliss stuff. This is BODYWORK. Sometimes a little rough. But it felt fabulous. The Dr. was up on the table at many points and went straight for the problem spots without me even telling him. By the time my hour was up, I was sweating from the heat and pressure of his hands. Best massage I've ever had, I kid you not.

I also got a facial special, just 110 for 1 hour massage and 1 hour facial. It was good. Lady went over time. Bad thing was that she was also answering phones during my facial - bluetooth style. Tipped $20 for massage Dr. and $15 for facial. Much deserved.

Pros: efficent - clean, mindful experts, best massage ever

Great help for sciatica, thank you!

by mtanase

I had sciatica pain for a week, so I decided some massage might help. Lisa worked the muscles on the whole length of the nerve with surgical precision. She even found some knots I didn't know about, 4 in total along the sciatic nerve. No wonder I was in pain. I feel much better and will go back. I liked the no-nonsense professional atmosphere.

Magic Hands

by llyonize

May's magic hands almost had a healing effect on my back. She knew exactly which parts needed the most work and she took care of them. The rest of the staff is super friendly too. I would recomend asia tui na to anyone from a novice to an experienced massage lover.

Pros: Price, Flexible Hours

Hurt so good! Best deal in NYC!

by digdoug2001

For only $55 you will get a great massage! My masseuse worked out knots like her life depended upon it. I also really enjoyed the hot towels. This is not something I had experienced before. If you want a great deal on a massage then this is the place for you. Very friendly staff too!

Pros: Value, Location, Skill

No more drinking

by cured_888

If this didn't work, I'd never mention it. But I'm very happy to say -- acupuncture with Dr. Li helped my drinking problem. I went from drinking heavily, being drunk about 5 days a week -- and then not at all. I'm not sure how it works, but the acupuncture made the desire to drink go away! There are so many who could benefit by this, I would like all to know.

Pros: Not expensive, Professional
