Sore back? Stiff neck? Aching muscles? Low energy? Infertility? Skin problems? Stress, tension? Feeling heavy, depressed? Sluggish? Body not responsive? Then try Tui-Na, Qi-Gong and acupuncture. We practice these traditional forms of therapeutic massage, used in China for over 2,500-years. They've been known to treat all these problems and more. Tui-Na and Qi-Gong can be performed lightly, but are more effective when done as deep-tissue-style massage. Acupuncture is effective for a wide variety of conditions, including infertility and addictions, including smoking and alcohol. Our staff includes doctors, as well as licensed and certified massage therapists. We also practice 'Ho Guan' or 'cupping therapy'. This is an extremely effective form of deep-tissue acupressure, popularized by Gwyneth Paltrow (See the New York Post, July 9, 2004)

Ratings_icons Fantastic Massage!

marc1978

This is one of the best massage experiences I ever had. I walked in 'by accident' and have been a regular since. I felt like Dr. Hong took me apart in little pieces and put me back together, and I did not even need to tell him where my problems were, he just found them right away. I walked out relaxed and completely revived. You owe it to yourself to give this a try if you're looking for a great treatment!

I cam e to work on a Tuesday very tense and uncomfortable. I decided I needed a lunchtime massage so I went looking on Citysearch. The staff at Asia Tui-Na were able to fit me in with no problem. The salon is basic, with rooms separated by thick curtains. The atmosphere was relaxing, comfortable tempurature-wise, overall relaxing. Linda (her English name) was my masseuse and kept her massage at "medium" like I chose when we began. The massage lasted a little longer than the 45 minutes I paid for and was in stages. I left relaxed, with no aches or pains. I went back to work feeling calm and soothed. Thank you!

Pros: Inexpensive, good technique, availability

Cons: decor, curtain walls

I work over a keyboard during the week, and do yoga when I can. When all the stressing and stretching begins to hurt my neck and shoulders, I go see May at Asia Tui-Na. I'm not sure exactly what she does, but it's fantastic for pain and immobility. I know there's massage, medicinal liniment and some other acupressure technique. But the pain always disappears! I've gone to other massage places, even payed a lot more, and the pain was still there. May's the best!

Pros: It works, clean, no waiting

Cons: plain decoration

Ratings_icons Acupunture helped my fertility!

shanghailady05

Thanks to Dr. Li! My husband and I wanted a child, and for over a year I was having trouble getting pregnant. We had gone to doctors and they could find nothing wrong. Last resort, I tried traditional Chinese medicine with Dr. Li. Over a course of nine weeks she gave me acupuncture and Chinese medicine - and on the tenth week I took a home pregancy test and confirmed with my family doctor. It's a baby!

Pros: compassionate, professional, miracle!

I always doubted these Tui Na places in NY because I didn't think they were professional and skilled. However, Asia Tui Na changed my point of view completely. Gee, they are just as highly skilled as those in Taiwan and China!!! Trust me, they are awesome.

I was suffering from carpal tunnel for a while, and I was so desparate for a relief. I was skeptical and somewhat nervous about the whole needle thing, but my pain is almost gone and my whole body feels great! I'm suppose to get 5 treatments, and and I got my 3rd this morning... I can't believe I can do the things I couldn't do for a while. Dr. Li is amazing, she is very nice and makes me feel like I'm in good hands. I've told all my friends about this place, and I will continue to go back there whenever I'm not feeling my best. Thank you so much Citysearch and Dr. Li!

Ratings_icons My first acupuncure - wonderful

schiff_man

I was hesitant because of the needle thing - but Dr. Li's whole procedure was painless and really helped! The pain's gone. I had a stiffness in my neck with sharp pain when I turned my head from side to side. We did a medical consultation, then on to the acupuncture. After that she perscribed a relaxing medicinal tea that I sip slowly at work and also before going to bed. This removes strain from a sedentary office lifestyle. Dr. Li is very well educated, published, with excellent English and a sense of humor.

Pros: pain gone, good interaction, no waiting

This is one of the most economical massages I received in NYC. I walked in with a stiff back and walked out feeling so much better. The masseuge was very attentive -- constantly adjusting his style and strength on my problem areas. I would certainly come back.

Pros: economical, clean, skilled staff

Ratings_icons Acupuncture and massage - both great

nirma08

My friends told me about this place. I came for acupuncture and massage. I'd had a tension headache for a few weeks, and my shoulders were pretty stressed too. Dr. Li's acupuncture session was like an entire medical consultation, topped off with herbal tea. My headache left and hasn't returned!! Then I had a massage with May - now she has fingers! May was able to find the spots where my tension was most concentrated. My upper back and shoulders feel great now. I've made another appointment for next week even though I live on the upper east side! I love the cleanliness and relaxing Chinese music too.

Pros: Cleanliness, Skill, Professionalism

Cons: a bit far from home

Ratings_icons Average at Best

maxiesmart

I've tried several asian massage spas, and this was just as average as most of them. I'm a woman and you can get the sense that the ladies working there only want to work on men due to the tips. I speak and understand chinese, so I was able to understand some of the conversations going on. They spoke of small tips and women. I guess I will take my small tip and business elsewhere.

Pros: none that i can see

Cons: atmosphere, people, lack of communication

Annie is the greatest! She knew just what to do for my back and shoulders. I work in a translator's office, all week bent over at a desk. I went to Asia Tui-Na with stiff, tense shoulders and an aching lower back. I liked the massage so much that about halfway through the hour, I extended it to 90 minutes! Afterwards, movement has felt free and easy. Annie knows her deep-tissue therapies. A bonus - even though I speak Chinese, I was glad to see Annie's English was so good.

Pros: Midtown location, deep tissue skills, communcation

Ratings_icons The best massage I've had in NYC

marcserges

It's a pity that the sense of privacy is a bit less in this space, as the massage tables are only separated by curtains, yet there is soothing Chinese music playing to create a sense of harmony. I have gone back repeatedly for 90 minute sessions with Mr. Hong, who may well be one of the best masseurs I have ever encountered! He doesn't miss a single muscle group and he even climbs on the table to use his full wait for a strong, deep tissue massage. Also, the tables are really comfortable and heated. Highly recommended for those who are looking for a strong pair of hands that go really deep.

Pros: great price/quality, very skilled, conveniently located

Ratings_icons Acupuncture saved my neck!

aussiekerry

I mean it! I like this place better than the other massage places in Midtown. Clean, warm massage tables, and it smells good. Instant service too. One hour of acupuncture and massage fixed a crink in my neck and upper shoulder that came from a long flight from Australia. I'm coming back!

Pros: fast, clean

Ratings_icons Relief from pain!

bladesmith72

About ten days ago, I lost my balance while doing barbell shoulder presses in the gym. Afterwards, it hurt to turn my head sideways or forward. Hot water in the shower helped a little. But as soon as I went to Asia Tui-Na I got relief! Their therapist Dr. Hong, the strongest masseur I've seen in Manhattan, worked on the area and surrounding muscles for an hour. Boy, does it feel great to move again.

Pros: deep tissue, good price, clean

if you're looking for a place to take your mind off of your daily stress, both in mind and body, you'll find no better place for that. You'll have your money well spent. They have really great customer service, and the atomosphere is perfect for what they're doing, that is making you feel as relaxed as possible, as a freshman in college, these guys have really saved me from my stressful school life, I'm definitely coming back for more!

Pros: reasonable price, great atmosphere, easy to find

This place was a new discovery for me. Although I've been a martial arts practitioner for 4 years, I've never tried massage, (we were taught that hardship was the way to learn) but wow, these guys really help! After each session, I'm left feeling much lighter, and my body performance sky-rocketing, they've helped with many of my muscel pains I've gotten over the years. Trust me, if you haven't tried these days, you don't know what you're missing out

Pros: reasonable price, punctuality, ease of access

I have mild scoliosis that gets painful in the winter, and am seeing a back specialist. But this Chi Gong is an essential part of my therapy. After my treatment here, I felt about 10 pounds lighter, much less stiff and painful. Though May was a bit too strong at times, I had to let her know! I've been to a few other Chinese-bodywork places that are pretty good. But this is better than the best of them. And close to the office too. I'll definitely be back!

Pros: my back feels great, price, good communication

If you're looking for a great deep tissue massage, this is the place. Great value for money, superb service and treatment, friendly staff, easy to make appointments (although this might and should deservedly change). This is the third qi-gong massage venue I've tried, and while all of them have been good - this is my first option by far.

Pros: Great massage, Friendly staff, Great value for money

This place surpasses all the other massage salons I've been frequenting over the years. It's simple, direct, quiet, clean, *very* economical, with staff who treat me like a king! Their treatment always runs over the allotted time - they don't shave minutes like some other places. This is my new spa, an island of tranquility in the midst of the city!

Pros: full value, I'm served right away, !!price!!

Ratings_icons They know about this place in London!

Prices, service, courtesy, clean - THUMBS UP!

Chinese friends in London told me. "Next time you go to New York City, you want an authentic Chinese-style massage and acupuncture, great prices, go to this Asian tui-na place on Park Avenue." So last time I was in town, I looked it up on the internet and tried it. I went to there with a headache. I had acupuncture with Dr. Wang, and then a one-hour massage after that. They do deep-tissue style, goes to the inside of the muscles and tendons. And feels great! My headache was totally gone, and my body felt light and very clear. They were even playing Chinese music which helps relax the stress. I floated out of there! And I will definitely recommend this to my friends in the U.K. and China.

Pros: clean, smells good, true Chinese style, economical

Ratings_icons Great Prices, Skillful Hands

musicmike

I was very impressed with the skill and considerate treatment by my therapist. Although her English is not the most fluent in the world, she'd ask if the pressure was too light or too strong, and she adapted the pressure perfectly (I play trumpet, so my trapezius muscles often get stiff). The massage lasted a bit longer than the official hour, unlike some places which short your time. And since the price beats almost every other salon I've seen in Manhattan, I'll definitely be back!

Pros: Generous, Efficient, Clean

Ratings_icons Made me feel weightless, I'm serious!

wmny45

Professional skill, good prices, great service, convenient hours, not a fancy setup, but clean and no waiting. Interesting music. Also they speak pretty good English, unlike some places I've been.

I've had a lot of massages at spas, health clubs and similar salons, but this place is unique for several reasons. The Chinese tui-na style goes deeper into the muscles and meridians. It yields more healing than most Western styles inspired by Swedish massage. So instead of being like a backrub, it reaches the inner layers. This is why my old and inactive muscles and joints can now feel weightless, as though they carry themselves around! I just go along for the ride.

Pros: price, the weightless feel

Ratings_icons Great massage + treated with respect

When I came in for my massage, I was greeted very courteously, and guided right away to an ultra clean massage room. The massage made my body and spirit feel much better - they hit all the right spots. They don't sell products, so there's no pressure to buy anything. There's parking on the weekends, but during the week it's better to take the train.

Pros: courtesy, competence

Several of my family members practice qi-gong and tui-na back in Shanghai, China. I came from there to NY to go to grad school at NYU. A school friend from China told me about Asia Tui Na. I went to give it a try. It's just like back home. My neck and shoulders were stressed from studying. They feel light and comfortable now! The salon even played music of the di-zi (Flute) and xiao (Recorder).

Pros: centrally located, authentic tui-na

This is perfect for the stressed-out office worker. After a long week on the computer and the phone, this is definitely the thing! Just by touching, my therapist could tell where I was stiff. The prices are reasonable, I got a discount from Citysearch too. This salon is clean and smells nice and fresh.

Pros: I feel much better, price, pleasant atmosphere

Ratings_icons Great for a cyclist's sore legs

keven2001

One of the NYC internet bicycling groups was talking about this place. I went in after a long bike ride. Their deep-tissue massage was able to free up my stiff neck and re-energize my quads and hamstring muscles. And I didn't feel sore the next day like I usually do! "I'll be back!"

Pros: knew just what to do, no appt needed, quick service

Im new to NYC, but being a native Chinese, this place sure feels authentic. I was just browsing around the net the other day, and came across Asian Tui-na, and it just so happens to be around the neighborhood, so I figured Id give it a try, it really helps relieve stress, by the time I walked out of there, it was like my body was lifting itself up! Im definitely going back for seconds~

Ratings_icons Surprise Healing!

joes1974

I'm in New York for the summer. One of my friends on the Internet told me about this place. I don't usually write reviews, but I'm a bodywork therapist myself and gave it a try. I can say that the form of Chinese Tui Na massage they do here is extremely effective. They teach it too, and I might take some lessons in it before I go back to San Diego. Anyway, the day I went, I was feeling some depression and despondency, as well stiffness in the shoulders. The shoulders felt better afterwards, yes. But what really surprised me was that my =emotional= state was uplifted! I totally didn't expect that. They play a kind of healing music that makes you feel very good. I heard about their cupping therapy, and I might try that next time.

Pros: unexpected healing, prices, evening hours

Ratings_icons Relaxing treatment for avid Cyclist!

harry_jimenez

I'm an avid cyclist and former bike messenger. I come all the way from uptown to Asia Tui-Na, once or twice every week. I treat my leg and shoulder muscles to the reparation they do here. May Shao and Dr. Hong are masters! They can tell from the sense of touch just where there is soreness or fatigue or aches in the muscles. When I leave, I feel supple, strengthened and energized! I've been recommending this place to other cyclists I know.

Pros: They know their stuff, Price, Bike parking!!

My lower back has hurt for many years. I came to do business in New York from Guangzhuo, China in August. Friends introduced me to this salon, Asia Tui Na Park Ave., Chinese style massage. (and they speak Chinese and English.) They did Qi-Gong Tui-na for one hour. After, I was amazed, my pain was gone. After years, what a surprise!

Pros: long time pain gone, massage like in China

Ratings_icons FANTASTIC HAVEN IN MIDTOWN

dr_greg_philo

Walking distance from Grand Central Station and the Empire State Building. The best massage of my life. My masseur was a doctor trained at a Chinese university. Dr. Hong, I think. I heard from word of mouth that he is the best masseur in the city! He was so skillful and insightful massage, as he knew EXACTLY where my neck and shoulders hurt without my saying much. And the establishment was very clean, smelled brand new!

Pros: The best massage, Close to my train, Cleanliness

Although I have only been to Asia Tui-Na a couple of times, even just walking in there and being in such a positive atmosphere makes me feel much better. By the time I leave I feel so empowered and energized, I'm ready for anything. Thanks so much for being here and offering these wonderful services!

Pros: therapist's skill, my feeling after, healthy milieu
