Went to the Iridium last night for a Les Paul tribute concert and let me first say the music was great. The venue was the worst place I've ever been to. When we went to get tickets a few weeks before, they told us they didn't have tickets and they wrote down our CC number on a piece of paper to reserve the spot. That made me really nervous because the "box office" was really disorganized and that piece of paper could have easily ended up in the wrong hands.

The night of the concert was unbelievable. First of all everything on the menu was so overpriced (but it's Time's Square so that's to be expected). Each waiter/waitress had only about 5 tables yet the service was still really slow. They took one of our drinks before we were finished and it took them forever to pick up the check at the end of the night. Also the low end of the PA system was up way too high and reverberating so much the music wasn't even enjoyable (although all the musicians were great from what I could hear).

The crazy parts were that the waitress wrote "20% gratuity not included :)." I'm sorry but what's to say you deserve 20%? Then the waiter at the table next to us came up to that table and asked the woman for more tip. I'm sorry but a high tip is extra for good service and you can't expect a high tip. Also they include the music charge on the bill so that people leave a tip on that as well. The musicians don't get that money so why should I tip based on something the waitress didn't even do. We tipped based on the food and drink order and gave very generously. I always tip in cash because I've heard from friends who are wait staff that it is preferred. When we checked our credit card statement they had also charged a tip on the card (20% of the entire bill including the music charge). That is completely unacceptable and we are currently fighting it out with Iridium, the CC company and if we need to the police and the BBB.

Clearly these people only care about gouging tourists and not about the music or anything else. If you go there be careful because they will steal your money!

Down and dirty jazz club. No where else can you see a living legend every Monday night, Les Paul 93 year old guitar player. Still playing and telling stories.

The Iridium brings in the greats for an intimate performance. Audiences are respectful so one can enjoy the evening. Food is exceptbable. Service is very good. Tables are comfortable.

I was a Wednesday regular there for VInce Giordano's Nighthawks and liked it a lot. Good music, goes without saying, but also very good salads, well prepared entrees, and an impressive bar. A very nice place to spend 3 hours listening to my favorite traditional jazz band, or any other kind of music.

I went to see a show here a few months ago and I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed the space, the food, and the drinks. It was a little expensive, but you got to see live jazz for little to no cover. The staff were really helpful and friendly. I would love to see another show here.
