The Baby Sitters' Guild, Inc. was established in 1940 for the sole purpose of providing experienced, trustworthy child care for parents who need full, part-time, or emergency in-home child care and hotel guests traveling with children. As well as meeting planners or conventioneers whose attendees include parents who require on-site day care. Since 1940, the needs of mothers and fathers have dramatically changed, and along with that, the Baby Sitters' Guild has made traveling in from out of town, whether internationally or domestically, a more enjoyable experience for everyone. Our sitters will come directly to your hotel, fully prepared with age-appropriate games and arts and crafts to keep your children fully engaged throughout the evening.
We stayed at a 5 stars hotel on our vacation to NYC and we expected the sitter to be top notch too! Not the case!
She arrived late and gave us the reason that she had a previous job where the family came back later than supposed. I don't see why that should be my problem , paying the rate that I did.
The next day my older daughter told us she hoped to never get a babysitter again because the lady was mean, yelled at her little sister and left her alone in the bedroom to cry.
We will never use this agency again.
Pros: none

I worked for this co. while I was in my 20's in NY and this is extremely well-run. I was put through an extensive background check and had to earn many certifications before they would agree to hire me. I met all sorts of different families from around the world and I enjoyed sitting for all their children. It was also the most fun job I ever had (I'm in corporate America now :( ) You can rest assured that any sitter that shows up at your door will be extremely professional and trained. Highly recommended.

We booked a sitter a week in advance and were all set to go. The sitter showed up at the hotel early, so we asked her to wait in the lobby ten minutes for us to get dressed. Unfortunately, another lady who needed a sitter came to the lobby, grabbed our sitter and left. The sitter had all of our info, yet did not realize that she was with the wrong family. We were out $300 theatre tickets, our anniversary night out, and received no help from the agency, who insisted that it was somehow our own fault! DO NOT USE!!
Pros: NONE
Cons: No-show, unsympathetic, no reimbursement
