Way overpriced but convenient location

by artgirlsf

The employees are generally really nice and they allow dogs inside so 4 stars for that, however they WAY overprice the services. It is about 200% from what is quoted on the USPS website so they get no stars for that

Pros: nice workers

Cons: way overpriced

Excellent customer service

by TomWatson

Old-fashioned customer service at this location as well as free parking. The staff works very hard and they have helped me out several times now with last-minute large print jobs. They are accommodating and professional....the previous review is hard to believe. Very impressive also is that everyone on their staff is a notary public. I used to do all my UPS shipping at the hub in Portrero Hill, but now I take it here because the store is much faster in processing shipments and providing help with packaging. It's next to the CalTrain depot, Safeway, Walgreen's, Mission Bay and the ballpark....very convenient getting in and out.

Pros: Customer Service, free parking, quality color printing and binding, UPS shipping

Cons: Traffic during baseball games

Worst experience ever with a shipper

by transparent9

This is the last time I use a UPS Store. Never have I had such a ridiculous experience.

I brought 7 packages to the UPS Store to be shipped from San Francisco to North Carolina, as I was moving. I got there on Saturday about 30-60 minutes before closing. Ground pickup was already done for the day, so it had to wait until Monday.

As I was leaving for China the next day for a one week trip, it was no big deal. Packages would arrive shortly after I returned from the trip. Email me, if you need anything, I will not be able to check my cell phone, I tell them. I leave my credit card info so they can charge on Monday while I am in China.

I find out a week later the packages arrived in North Carolina but are intercepted as return to shipper. I have no idea why. I check my email, and see a message from my credit card company. "Call us for information about recent high-risk activity on your card" it says. I call them and find out the UPS charge was declined for fraud.

I call the UPS Store and say, it's fixed, charge it, and deliver my packages. Intercept the intercept, call UPS and fix this. And by the way, why did you not email me before requesting return to shipper??

No explanation. After several weeks of trying, all they can say is "we can't do anything", "our system is not set up to let us make more than one intercept", "we have our own support number... but it's only 9-5pm", "corporate says we can't do anything". In the end, they want to charge me almost $600 for my packages going and coming back to San Francisco. And another $600 to ship them properly. No thanks. Had my boxes shipped Fedex Ground, arrived no problem. Also $250 cheaper. Still working with my credit card company on this one.

Great Service

by sanfranciscofoodie

This locally owned franchise kicks butt over neighborhood competitors. They committed to the Mission Bay neighborhood when few other retailers would even consider taking a chance. My small business would be nothing if not for this store - they receive packages when I am not around and send me emails when I have packages or important mail waiting. They are like a personal assistant without the attitude or expense - capable of handling my shipping and receiving, faxing, notary and much more. SOMA is lucky to have these guys and I could not recommend them more highly.

Pros: Competent, well-trained staff, free parking, near Mission Bay

Cons: Access during ballgames
