I went to a SW in Dallas and thought the spaghetti was awful. That was about 15 years ago. I had time to kill downtown one afternoon and decided to try it just because it was nearby. The bread is the best thing here. No complaints there.

Love the food, SW is one of my favorite places, but last time I was there (Friday) the place was busier than usual and the waitress was very loud and itimidating, bet her part time job is being a WE wrestler or something my Mom was scared

When I had an important date or event, I used to go to the San Francisco Steakhouse, but now that that once great venue is closed, Spaghetti Warehouse is my destination for important dates/events. In any case, my date and I arrived at 9 p.m. on Thursday September 24, 2009. The hostess was very attentive and polite. Our waiter was also attentive, but I've had better waiters. Our food was excellent and quickly served. My only complaint is a personal quirk, in which I prefer dish pictures on the menu. The menu, although adequate, is far from imaginative. The food and drink prices were actually quite moderate, considering that this is a quality destination, and it was dinner, my date and I ate for 35.00 Also, since this place has been featured on national TV, it would serve the waitstaff well to play up, not play down, that the venue is haunted.

Pros: Great Service & Ambience

Cons: Really don't have any

I read the reviews before we went downtown to see Jerry Seinfield at Jones Hall in June and wondered if it was going to be good. This is not an upscale atmosphere, but the food was delicious and the service was friendly and attentive. The only problem is as seldom as we go downtown, it's probably the only restaurant we will risk going to for the value and convenience.

I attended a group meeting here on a Thursday evening. The restaurant was quiet until a large group came in an hour behind us. That was ok, but the group walked back and forth near our table constantly.
The set menu was awful, nothing even remotely healthy on it. No substitutions were allowed. I finally convinced the waitress to let me order soup and salad from the main menu. It was a mistake. The menu said 'unlimited' but I wasn't offered more of anything. In fact the waitress only showed up twice during the whole meal- once to take orders and once to deliver them. She was not polite and interrupted the meeting blatantly. The soup and salad were awful. The salad consisted of some iceberg lettuce and croutons and the soup was possibly the worst minestrone soup I've ever tasted- it was mostly celery. I ate about three bites then decided to just eat bread the rest of the night. The bread tasted ok, but again there was nothing remotely healthy about it- white, yeasty bread with butter and no other option. The other members of my group were not very picky eaters, but even they didn't seem to love the food. Everything was covered in too much cheese and there is really nothing Italian about any of it.
Overall I would never go here again. The location is ok, but I would rather travel further and not feel like I wasted money buying food I won't even eat.

Pros: not even one

Cons: parking, service, food, atmosphere....everything!

.

Pros: honestly, location is the only one I can think of
Cons: seating our party of 12 an hour past our reservation was just not right; giving no apology or periodic updates at the time was inexcusable; the noise level was so high our waitress had to scream to be heard (or she could have gone to each person individually which she apparently could not be bothered to do), the atmosphere was chaotic and a lack of good management was obvious. Food was nothing special. Their webite comment function is not working, so I sent a letter to the main office in Dallas and the phone call response was one of 'not our fault' - I disagree. Every single customer that enters your restaurant should be valued and we were not.

I was so excited to eat at this restaurant. Had done so as a young women in the 70's, and had awesome memories of it. I moved away and returned to Texas after being gone for 27 years. I could hardly wait to eat at this restaurant. So I took my new husband . The food was horrible. The only thing we ate that was good was the bread. My husband and I will never go there again. I was so disappointed.

The food was not of the highest refinement, but there is plenty of it. Their size portions are quite large and accommodating however, most of their sauces taste the same.

The food is good here. More specifically, they have flavorful versions of your classic Italian dishes: Lasagna, spaghetti, etc. Service is fine. Prices are EXCELLENT. This is a very good place to take a big group if you book in advance. (i.e. rehearsal dinner or family reunion) They have banquet rooms and the group menu pricing is very reasonable.

We went to the Spaghetti Warehouse on October 27th, 2007. While waiting for a table, we waited in the bar. We had to wait for 25 minutes in a line just to order a drink from the very rude bartender. I tried to order appetizers, but no one would help us. I finally asked the hostes who could get us appetizers, and she threw down her menues and shouted "what do you want!" THEN when we finally got seated, we waited a long time for our very poor quality food.
This was a very bad experience! I would never recomend it.

Pros: NOTHING!

Basically, it is your average downtown lunch place. Food is good, but not great. Service is really good. I go there often, especially when I receive a jury duty summons. I have no problems with the place at all.

I've been coming to the Spaghetti Warehouse since the 70's. The ambiance is great, the ghost stories are fun and the food has always been good. But, the sourdough bread and garlic butter make the overall experience magnificent!

I started eating at The Spaghetti Warehouse as a child growing up in Houston. My sister and I loved sitting in the gazebo and running up stairs to sit in the trolly. The Spaghetti Warehouse is a great family restaurant at an inexpensive price. I loved it so much as a child that I started working there as a hostess and later a watress. The atmosphere is fun, upbeat, and friendly. Give it a chance and you see for yourself.

Okay I will give them the "ghosts" that haunt the warehouse story for ambiance; but I would prefer if they wouldn't let them cook. Ghosts are not known for great taste buds. I work downtown and sometimes I am coerced into going to this place. If you love Chef Boyardee, then this is the place for you. I lived in Milan for a short period and there were no Italian kitchens with this taste I assure you. If you want to go somewhere cheap . . . . Run don't walk here. However if you want it to taste as if someone in the kitchen has at least seen a picture of a real tomato I wouldn't suggest this place.

We have for years enjoying eating at this downtown restaurant. The Spaghetti has always been wonderful and the sourdough bread is too. Salads are tops. Prices are okay. The only pitfall of this place is that it can be packed. Specially during wknds and dinner time. Be leary of the homeless people often hanging out right outside the door asking for hangouts. Parking is kinda scary too. Not good place for kids that like to run around thou they do have a kids arcade. Waiters are always superb! Host could Smile a bit more! No Manager in Site to ask how things were?

I went with a business group of 20. The service was great and friendly - even though it was only one server for all of us. We had unlimited self-serve tea /soda. The food was deplorable though. The salads were average at best, but the entrees were downright tasteless. I couldn't eat mine. My friend, said she would share her lasagna and I only ate it because I was so hungry. We were surprised that this place was popula. Feeling ripped off and disappointed at spending a mandatory $15 each plus we each were asked to leave a tip too by our group leader, I told my husband about the ordeal when I arrived home. He said: "Oh yeah, S. W. food sucks. I've eaten there before and will never go back." Duh, could he have told me beforehand so I could have eaten first before the meeting?

The food is average but good. The resturant has a history that makes it fun. My sister- in- law felt a chill on her neck and her clasp on her necklace came open. There are ghost hunters in there on Saturday nights. Makes for spooky eating. Lots of fun

I have absolutely loved coming into this fun, historical restaurant since I was a child. However, the food is not nearly as impressive as I thought it was growing up. The food is OK and the selection is above average. Every once in a while I am pleasantly surprised by an entree. The location is great for a night out on the town, especially since they put in the rail. There is always an eclectic mix of people there...college kids, med center workers, families, etc.

I have only eaten at their downtown location, but can attest to the food always being excellent and hot when served. It's a great place to grab some dinner before attending a play or other downtown event. This is definitely not a romantic spot, but the atmosphere and decorations are tasteful. There really isn't any reason to order their garlic bread (it's great) because they supply you with hot loaves of fresh baked bread throughout your meal. It's definitely worth trying if you haven't been there before...
