One steaming Saturday in July, my wife & I took a bus into NYC to look at electric bike options for her. She wanted to bike more but just didn't have the muscles to pedal the hills of Mt Airy, our Northwest Philadelphia neighborhood. She had been receiving the NYCEWheels newsletter for years, and had written to them about for bike recommendations. Mark at NYCEWheels recommended a folding electric bike by ecobike, the Vatavio.

We found the tiny shop on York Ave between 84th & 85th St and met Mark. Meenal tentatively test drove the Vatavio, and was thrilled with the pedal-assist feature. We returned home with the bike, navigating it over several subway turnstiles, and have it for about a month now. The Vatavio has increased her confidence riding on city streets and gets her to one job about 4 miles away, and another about 2 miles away.

I've installed a milk carton on the rear rack for her, and she loves loading it up with food as we head off to our Tuesday night dinners at her brothers, about a mile away.

I found Mark, the NYCeWheels salesperson very attentive and believe he helped us make the right choice. I highly recommend this shop. After we got the bike home and drove around the 'hood, we met others who had purchased their bike from NYCeWheels; they too seemed pleased with their electric bike and scooters.

Great place for specialty bikes - electric and folding. They offer test rides for almost anything in the store. Staff was very helpful and knowledgeable, and they wanted to make sure I made the right selection before buying something. They are dedicated to their customers, and will ensure that anyone that buys a bike there will get quick and reliable service. I really felt like I was buying a commitment rather than a product.

.

Poor repair service, expensive and NASTY manager.
I spend over $2000 in this store!! I had to return 3 times with my scooter to the store after repair! Scooter is still not fixed and now of course they won't fix it but they had no problem charging over $300 for...nothing.
by the way electric scooters are ILLEGAL in NY state, I know that for a fact because I ended up in court for riding it.
