Great Daycare and Boarding for your dogs!
Been a regular customer since April 2007 when my husband and I adopted our dog, Duffy. During the work week, it's a relief to know that instead of being cooped up in our condo waiting for a dogwalker, that my dog is happily running around and playing with other dogs with a trained staff of people supervising at all times. Boarding is great too since dogs boarding have free all-day-play throughout their stay. It's one of the best daycare/boarding in the downtown Chicago area. Plus, Tucker Pup's has grooming, training, and pet photography all under one roof! My dog loves it there!

Lacking in a few important areas
I brought my dog to Tucker Pups after reading about it on-line a couple months back. Originally, I planned on just having her groomed but, after hearing about the doggy day care, I figured we'd make a day out of it. Being the loving owner that I am, I provided them with her food and toys she's used to so she wouldn't be lonely or hungry. 7 hours later I returned to pick up my little pup and from what I could tell she was happy as can be; however, when I picked her up in my arms she was shaking like a leaf (never does that). I then asked for her toy and remainder of the food I had left for her for the day and they just stared at me in utter confusion. Finally after looking in the back for several minutes they came across the bag of food and toy (neither of which were used during her visit). I didn't care about the toy but was concerned about her not eating all day... they said that since they were unaware of her food being left they didn't feed her... "dogs that are left with no food or water instructions are not fed or provided water". I found this to be appalling - don't they know that dogs shouldn't go without water for 7+ hours, especially in 90 degree weather!!!! They didn't take any fault on whoever forgot about my goodies bag and instructions to feed her; though, to be honest I didn't make a big deal about it. Anyway, after we got home my pup drank and ate like never before - she was obviously dying of thirst and quite exhausted from the heat. Thankfully, all was okay in the end; however, their lack in basic doggy day-care 101 really let me down - hence, they didn't make me a returning customer.

Tucker Pups is like "Cheers" bar for my dog :)
My dog Bruno had been a regular at Tucker Pup's daycare up until this summer when he had to have knee surgery. Today was Bruno's first day back after a few months recovery and I was touched that the TP staff remembered him and welcomed him back so warmly after his unfortunate absence. His tail went up and started wagging furiously the minute I opened the car door to let him out in the parking lot this morning and his buddy Banana was right there to greet him too. It means a lot to me that he has a wonderful place like Tucker Pups to hang out at - he was 'out of commission' after his knee surgery for so long and I know he was genuinely missing his playtime and friends at TP's. The owner Joel and rest of the staff are amazing and the natural treat/food selection is great too!
Pros: Facility, Customer Service, Services

Finally a place for my dog downtown
Coming to Tucker Pups has been a tremendous experience for both Bosco (my 2 year old dog) and myself. I know Bosco likes it because he doesn't want to leave when I pick him up and he always gets so excited when I drop him off. I like it because I have been searching for a daycare/boarding environment, in the city, I trust and feel comfortable leaving my "boy" with.
Finally, thank you Tucker Pups!

Unbeatable dog...and people...training!
We loved the Good Manners 2 class! We had gone through the puppy class and then proceeded on to the next class. It is impossible to say enough good things about the training program. Not only does Debbie help you train your dog, she trains you! Our dog loved going to class and not only did our dog learn in class, she worked hard on the homework too. Our 5 month old puppy now will wait for us to walk through doors, walks like a dream next to us and doesn't pull at the leash, sits when meeting new people, doesn't run after dropped food, and loves learning new things! I had a lab when I was younger and he was never this well behaved! The best part about the class is that Debbie teaches you how to work with your dog towards good behavior instead of "at" your dog. "Yes!"
I and our dog, can't wait for the next class to begin! I would highly recommend, borderline insist, that anyone who has a new dog enroll in a training class with Debbie. Once you do, you will wonder what took you so long to sign up!
Pros: Debbie - Amazing trainer, the dogs love her!

Thorough and Caring dog care..imagine this!
I was very impressed with the facility and knowledge of the staff. I certainly had a good feeling leaving my dog in your hands and will continue to do so in the future. It put my mind at ease from the beginning. Accessibility is key and Tucker Pup's exceeded expectations.

A great place to train your dog!
We just finished Good Manners 1. My husband, Colin, and I thought it was a great help. Our dog is very smart but rather misbehaved, and this really helped to get him pay better attention to us. Plus, this is my first dog (not my husband's) and I learned a LOT about being a good dog owner/trainer. (I still have much to learn).
Possibly the best aspect about the class was Debbie -- she was fantastic. She's effective and intelligent without being patronizing or domineering. When we go back for another class, we want to take a class of Debbie's. She's the kind of trainer who instills trust in her class (dogs and humans, alike).
And, as we found out on the last day, she bakes a mean chocolate chip cookie!
Pros: Parking, good neighborhood, great staff, flexible schedule
Cons: a little far from where we live in Uptown, but it gave our dog a chance to get used to riding in cars!
