Save yourself the frustration and the money - use ANY other company besides Tru Green. Have yet to meet a happy customer. NO service, incorrect billing, no communication, lawn looks horrible. Wish I had read the reviews first before wasting hundreds of dollars.

Tru Green Chem Lawn uses some of the most dangerous pesticides (includes herbicides) "legal" in the U.S. , but banned in other countries that are more progressive and prioritizing public health and the environment over giving industry free reign.

They use MCPA, MCPP, and Dicamba to spray on your lawns for controlling broadleaf weeds. Google "pesticideinfo MCPA" and select either the panna or pesticide info link and find out what peer-reviewed and published studies summarize on these pesticies that will eventually be banned in the US after more years go by with people and the environment getting harmed... but will take decade or more or research b/c that's how the U.S. runs its regulatory issues.. prove harm before toxic substances are taken off the market. www.panna.org.

Find safer landscaping companies through www.beyondpesticides.org, under "finding pest control operators" or look at the www.birc.org website also for ones that practice Integrated Pest Managment. Beyond Pesticides will show you how to question them to see if they are truly using least toxic.

Have a great landscaping without jeapardizing your health and the environment. S.F. Bay Friendly Landscaping website also has certified landscapers on their website.

It is a scam, I canceled the services of True Green and they continue to send the bill, I called and told them I am not paying them and I started to get collection calls and followup with TranswordSystems for $ 80.00 When call the True Green office they were extremely rude and they don't give a damn about the customer. they spray water and collect money. What a scam.

We were a customer of TruGreen ChemLawn in Fayetteville, NC off and on for years. Our service was about to expire last fall (2009) and we contacted the local office to cancel the service. The customer service rep offered us two services at half price to finish out the year and the complete the contract. We agreed to the two additional service but emphasized that we still intended to cancel our contract and that the service should not roll over to 2010. Early in 2010, TruGreen serviced our lawn even though we had not agreed to a new contract and we subsequently received a bill of $41. We disputed the service on several occasions with the local company. One customer service representative actually confirmed that our lawn should not have been serviced but then referred us to the accounts receivable manager to further dispute our case. We attempted to contact the manager on several occasions but she never returned our calls or correspondence (2 letters were written). We wrongly assumed that the situation was taken care of. In May 2010 we were in the process of moving and contacted all of the local companies we had business with to close out our accounts. We called TruGreen and were told that our account was current...meaning that we did not owe any money. What we didn't know was that our account had been sent to collections (Transworld Systems). We were shocked when we received the collections notice from Transworld. We then contacted the TruGreen corporate office and the service rep was extremely argumentative and ultimately told us that only the local office (Fayetteville) could reverse the charge. We again contacted the local office and left three messages for the accounts receivable rep but never received a call back. Tired of the situation, we finally paid the bill of $41 a few weeks ago.

I have had a horrible experience with this company.
The first time they treated it was raining and we had a least 2 inches of water on the ground, it did nothing for my yard.
I requested a retreat and someone showed up 2 weeks later and only spot treated the yard.
I would not recommend this company to anyone.

My three year relationship with this company ceased because of this. I came home to a receipt in my door on which the tech had written that since my lawn was in drought, he would not spray. He recommended heavy watering for 10 days and would return.

This was attached to a bill for $46.00. I called the office to complain that they were charging me for the tech to look at my lawn. They tried to convince me that the lawn had been sprayed- but with no lawn sign and no evidence of spraying, I argued this.

They sent me to collections and I had to contact the Trugreen corporate office and fax a copy of the receipt that plainly said in the technician's handwriting that he did not treat my yard on that visit.
