For the past year I have been dealing with AUTO MATTERS and have had the biggest nightmare experience. To date they have cost me over $2000. In February 2009 they replaced my clutch charging me $1300. The clutch never felt right and I asked them about it. I have been driving my car for over 5 years and am the only owner. They told me "Oh it's fine it just need to be broken in" I trusted them until Dec 23 2009 when the clutch stopped working. Towed it back to them because it was still under warranty. They said "Oh no the clutch is good, it's the linkage". I allowed them to charge me another $400. I called a number of other mechanics took it to one and asked if this was fair. All agreed this was something the shop should take care of because it is a clutch issue. I called Auto Matters and Tony agreed to refund the money. Great. The clutch has failed again at 13,500 miles. Tony feels no obligation to stand by his work. And has basically told me I am SOL. I hope no one else finds themselves in this situation. FYI my 1st clutch lasted for 67,832 miles. I have driven manual my entire driving life and I have never damaged a vehicle due to poor operation. Tony was very quick to lay blame on the customer. Also I'm a woman. Mechanics that try shady stuff with women are inexcusably cruel and dishonest. Could not be more unhappy with a mechanic. DO NOT TRUST THEM.

I have been doing buisness with Auto Matters for over 15 years. They have always stood behind their work and get things done in a timely fashion. Owner operated. Knowledgeable staff. Work is completed when they say it will be.
