Of the one time I did come to this place, the atmosphere was extremely noisy and very hard to feel comfortable. It was like all of the people inside the restaurant were jammed packed being herd like cattle. The food made up for the craziness though.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Las Vegas and I love introducing friends to it. The tapas style menu makes it great for small to medium sized groups. You also get a lot of variety for a very reasonable price. I??ve tried almost everything on the menu and this is my list of favorite dishes and the ones I??d pass on.

Favorites
Artichoke toasts- My boyfriend who doesn??t even like artichokes, likes this one.
Stuffed Dates- Great flavors and textures. The sweetness from the dates and saltiness from the bacon and blue cheese are such a wonderful combination. The red wine reduction really brings it all together and the almond adds a nice crunch.
Albondigas- Just well done meatballs in marinara.
Ham and cheese croquetas- Fried meat and cheese, it??s a little hard to go wrong there.
Merguez- A flavorful lamb sausage served with red pepper and tomato confit. The sweetness from the confit compliments the slightly spicy sausage nicely.
Firefly* fish sticks- Fried tilapia fillets with a great texture and usually perfectly cooked. (Once when they were busy, the fish sticks came out over cooked.)
Fried calamari- Well done calamari served with a garlic aioli. The aioli can be a bit pungent, but not enough to deter me from this dish.
Camarones a la diabla- Shrimp in a sweet and slightly spicy Asian influenced sauce.
Passion fruit mini-cheesecakes- The passion fruit flavor just explodes in your mouth; perfectly tart and sweet.

Pass on
Tuna peppers- Tuna salad stuffed in marinated sweet peppers. The tuna salad was nothing special, and the peppers were a tad too sweet for this application.
Stuffed peppers- Little peppers stuffed with cheese and topped off with a tomato sauce. This dish was boring compared to the others. It reminded me of not good Italian food.
Crispy duck rolls- Let me start off by saying duck is one of my all time favorite foods. With that said, these were a complete disappointment. The filling in the rolls was so overpowering you could not taste the duck. It really tasted like a bad egg roll. On another occasion my friend, who also loves duck, ordered these and agreed they were not very good.
Paella- This was edible, but certainly nothing to rave about. It was missing that nice crust on the bottom of the pan, and the texture of the rice was a little too sticky for paella.

If you are near the strip and want Tapas, I would suggest Firefly* over Cafe Ba Ba Reeba. The food and prices are better. If you are looking for a pitcher of tasty sangria, choose Ba Ba Reeba over Firefly*. Ba Ba Reeba adds hard liquor to their sangria for a nice kick to compliment the sweet fruity beverage.

If you're looking for unique Las Vegas dining and don't want to spend an arm and a leg, try Firefly on Paradise. It's located off the strip, but well worth the trip. The food is spectacular, and affordable, and the mojito's are the best I've ever had. Try the pomegranite mojito...awesome!
It's usually pretty crowded so you know it's good.

They only offer happy hour at the bar, which is small. It's half off drinks and a free sampler. We, of course, eat more and order more food, but the bar is small, so I only do that with a small group of friends. If it is more than three, we need to sit in the main seating area or we can't talk. Mojitos are good!

I would not recommend Firefly. The food is average and the service is terrible. Way too crowded and cramped in there. Move on, there are plenty of other places that are way better near the Strip.

Firefly is amazing! The service is friendly and fast and the food is yummy :) It is very busy, but it is worth the wait. If there is a long line and you have a small party look for places at the bar. The service is still just as great there and it's just as fun! The Sangria is amazing!!

Excellent place to meet up for drinks, but don't expect to have a romantic dinner for two. This place is overcrowded and LOUD. Getting your bill and receivigg refills at this place is a nightmare. Order everything you want in the begining because there is a great chance you won't get a second go around. I guess that is the price to pay for trying to dine in an OVERCROWDED place. Also, the food is excellent but super tiny portions (I know its tappas style but DAMN-it's like they cater to Mary Kate's anorexic Twin.) the price is NOT worth the three bites of food.

This place is great for Las Vegas locals. The ambiance is relaxed and the food is pretty good. Definitely try the mojitos and the stuffed dates. The service can be a bit slow, but that's mostly because it's such a relaxed environment where you are suppose to take it slow. Great scene for a low-stress evening out.

We went to Firefly with a party of 6 and had a blast. It's fun to order a lot of tapas and share. They have a large selection to choose from and almost everything is really good. Order with a pitcher of tasty sangria. It is always very crowded and a little tight inside but lots of fun.

My husband and I always do happy hour here at least once when we are in Vegas. We stuff ourselves with food and drink and then crawl next door to Dragonfly for some sushi. Gluttony at its finest!

Firefly is a cool place, but much more for the trendy crowd than for the foodies, like me. It was really loud and crowded. The menu did not have anything very adventurous, in fact quite the opposite. The "french fries" tapas were ok. So was the manchego mac and cheese. The grouper was very dry and plain. The salad was acceptable, but the empanadas seemed small for tapas. The albondigas were boring meatballs with no real flavor. The best thing was the paella, and I've had much better.

If you are looking for great tapas, this just isn't the place.

The line to get into the restaurant was long so I knew the food would be really good. It did not disappoint. The portions were small so for 2 of us, we got about 6 dishes. The stuffed peppers and the shrimp diavlo were to die for. The waiters were very prompt and making sure we were always taken care of. The food was tasty and the sangria was really good, not too powerful. Good to go with a group as well, very lively inside. And after dinner, you can always go to the bar next door to dance it all off.

Checked out Firefly on a Wednesday night at around 9pm. The place was buzzing but the wait wasn't long. (10 minutes). My date and I were really impressed with the place. The entire staff was friendly, attentive, and efficient. Together, we ate about 6 plates of tapas and split an order of paella and flan for about 58 dollars. The two glasses of sangria brought our total bill to 70 dollars excluding tip. It was a pretty fair value and the food was pretty tasty and best described as "fusion/modern" rather than authentic. Definitely check out the tuna tartare. The joint can get loud and the atmosphere is a bit geared to the 20s "seen and be seen" crowd, but there are plenty of more distinguished folks here to check out the drinks and food. The parking lot is small, so take a cab to the restaurant. Don't worry, there are always a few cabs stationed in the area to pick up patrons after their meal.

First of all, I"m not a three meal a day person. Tapas are the best way of dining for me. I can try several things without having a large entree preventing me from trying other items. Mojitos are available by the pitcher - just recommend a little more rum. Highly recommend the stuffed dates, seared ahi (practically an entree by itself), duck roll, would recommend the ahi tartare be sliced as opposed to the cubes but still good. Tried other items - too numerous to list as we had dinner the first night and went back for lunch the next day. Great service, not there during any rush hour but did fill quickly right after we arrived both times. Will always make it a stop when in Vegas. Three people almost drunk and full for $60.

My husband and I went there last for a much needed date. It did take some time to get a table because it was packed. Make a reservation. The menu is as whimsical as it should be. My husband had never heard of Tapas but I knew he would surely find things to spark his interest. He did! We had fun. Some items are better than others, but I recommend the Baked Brie, Duck Egg Rolls, Eggplant Cannelloni, Bacon Wrapped Dates, and the Bread Pudding for dessert. I am not sure why but the espresso was really great! We are not drinkers like the rest of crowd at Firefly. They sure were sucking down the sangria...looked good!!! Go here! It is really a fun time. Once you do get seated, your tapas come quickly.

I am a big Tapas fan and Firefly is definitely one of the best Tapas places that I've been to and I've been to a lot in New York City. We went on a Monday night by foot after the show "Le Reve" at Wynn hotel and it's totally worth the 20 minutes walk. We had a picther of Mojito, which is awesome; Tuna Tartare is my favor out of the dinner menu; Steak and Mushroom Skewer is just perfectly marinated and nicely cooked; Chorizo Clams is very well balanced and I almost wanted to drink up all the juice with my straw. We also had Caramel Flan and Chocolate & Cherry Bread Pudding for dessert and they were simply tasty. And the best part, with everything, tip and tax, it came down to less than $90 for the two of us. I would definitely go back next time I go to Vegas.

I've been going to FireFly after getting off work as a cook for 2 years. I have even had long conversations with the guys who made the menu, giving them props for their delicious affordable dishes. The coolest thing about the place was the large portions, cheap prices, good drinks, and nice atmosphere. I've been gone for awhile and recently come back, and i wonder what happened. Their tomato soup is great, it used to come in a large bowl with a good brie sandwhich. Now its a tiny cup, tastes watered down, and the sandwhich just looks half assed. The tartare dish is cut in half if not more, the fries are the greasiest things i've ever eaten, its almost disgusting. I used to love the calamari, it was light and crucny while not being overwhelming. Its still good, but if you feel an order or calamari should be 7 overcooked pieces for the same price spread out on a large plate, then i guess that dish is for you.
Firefly used to have the feeling of a great locals place and now its just some bs washed up place that almost seems to beg for tourists business and shuns away their long-time fans.

What happened to them... cutting corners and getting greedy doesn't help.. maybe someday they'll see that. As far as i go, i wont be going there for a long time.

My friend and I were visiting Las Vegas and decided to try this place out. We heard about it on $40/day with rachael ray. It would be good to make reservations for dinner because the place was packed by the time we got there (around 9pm). We probably waited about 20-25 minutes to be seated, but we waited at the bar and it wasn't so bad. The mojitos were pretty good. The restaurant itself is very intimate with booths that lined walls and tables meant for 2 but pushed together for bigger parties. There is a lounge area between the main dining area and the patio with couches where I suppose larger parties get together. We decided to sit in the patio because it wasn't as loud. The menu is pretty extensive. We ordered stuffed mushrooms, filet mignon sliders (mini burgers), empanadas, herb fries, calamari and meatballs. We tried a little of everything and were definitely pleased. They weren't out of the ordinary dishes, but they were all very tasty. I regret ordering too many dishes because I didn't have room for dessert! Overall, the atmosphere was great, the food was wonderful, the drinks were pretty good and the prices were decent! ($5-10/plate) Since I've been about 2 weeks ago, I keep thinking about going back to Vegas to visit Firefly again! its worth the trip (:

I have been going to Firefly since Rachel Ray reviewed it on her show "$30 a day" in Las Vegas. We have brought out of towners and locals to this fun hip restaurant. Food is excellent and by Vegas standards, very cheap. There is something for everyone on the menu, hot and cold tapas and entrees and great desserts and sangria. Mojitos are great too. Especially tasty are the ham and cheese croquettas, baked shrimp, the sliders, and the skewers. Finish off with the banana and nutella sandwiches for dessert. The noise could be a draw back for those looking for a quiet evening, but it cuts down the awkward silences of first dates. I recently took a new boyfriend there who has lived in Vegas for 5 yrs and never heard of it. He raved about it. It has the energy of the college scene as the place is packed with co-eds. Great place to people watch!

Firefly is a fantastic, local gem. It's near the strip, so you don't have to mess with valet, casinos, Las Vegas Blvd, cover charges, lines, waiting lists, overpriced menus, stuffy attitudes.

They have a huge list of small plates (tapas) that you pass around and share. Also the Sangria is the fantastic. I always bring my friends in from out-of-town to show them the other side of Vegas, the fact that we have some really unique independent places that aren't just trying to gouge their guests.

Check out Firefly. You will not be disappointed! I'll probably see you there!

Pros: Sangria, Great Food!, Hip Vibe

Cons: Sometimes can be crazy busy, parking lot fills up fast

I went to Firefly for the first time last night. I tried the Sangria, which it's famous for, but was a little disappointed with it. But the service was good, and the ambiance more then made up for it. The food could have been better. I had the Paella which was ok but could have been much better. The person with whom I was dining had some kind of octopus plate which was really tasty. But you couldn't beat the price. Dinner and drinks for two people was $40 including a generous tip. I would go again.

Pros: ambiance, cost, location

Cons: food, sangria, parking

This place is by far the best stop anyone can make. I try to eat there at least once a week. The calimari is excellent, and dont forget a picher of red sangeria! The smoking section even has couches so you can really relax and enjoy your meals.

Pros: close to 215 freeway, close to strip, close the airport

Cons: small parking lot

Firefly is not the most authentic Tapas in the city, but the really great attempt at food, which is good in it's own right, pales in comparison to the vibrant night scene, sometimes until 3-4 AM. Live Latin bands and DJ's keep the groove in place as the crowd sways, eats and downs signature pitchers of Mojitos. This has become the place for restaurant and hotel employees late nights and it just keeps improving. See you there!

Pros: Affordable, Amazing Scene, Frequent Live Music

Cons: Parking, Inconsistant Service, Inconsistant Food

Firefly is off the strip but not far. The menu had a large variety of tapas. We tried many different tapas. They were all good, reasonalby priced and good size portions for tapas. For example, the Tuna Carpaccio was good and had a large amount of tuna for $10. The sangria was also good. The decore of the main diningroom is plane jane, nothing special. The lounge area is more interesting with red couches. On the weekends, make a reservation. They are open very late. It appeared to have a lot of locals dining here.

Pros: good tapas, resonably priced

Twenty-something patrons lounge in green, Dali-esque wooden chairs and listen to live rock music playing in the intimately lit main room. A curved bar stocked with bottles of fine wines sits in the center of the room and…
