Horrible service and bad management...we were there for 5 hours this evening sitting outside in the roped off area -group of 8 adults along with my 7yo and my 17yo. The 17yo left to go pick up her friend and when they returned -they would not allow her to rejoin our table because she was not 21. They made her STAND outside the roped area. This made no sense at all since she had been there all evening long and the 7yo was still sitting there at the table. I will never give them another dime of my money. What a bad business decision!!!

This place can be a little loud but has a good energy. The menu has many good choices and the beer/drink list is extensive. I always have a good time here.

Whether you want to grab lunch or go for dinner or socializing, Boardwalk Billy's is great. The food is good, it's reasonable and it's awesome during the warm months. There is plenty to do close by, the shopping is great.
Definitely recommend.

Great place to kick back with a few beers and some oysters. It does get crowded quickly and doesn't have much seating but it is a very lively place. Lots of stuff to do around the area as well.

Oh, my GOD!! This place is so smokey..I can't even enjoy the food. Which is great by the way. I love the buffalo chicken salad...I crave for them on a daily basis...but the smoking is horrible. When I leave I have the smell of cigarettes on me for days.

I would reccommend boardwalk billys because of the coconut shrimp. Also it sits out on the lake at university where the view is nice especially in the summertime. My only complaint is it can get a little smokey.

Great spot for lunch

I love the lunch menu at Boardwalk billy's. My favorite meal is the chicken tender wrap or salad. But only if the chicken is covered with the "super s$%# hot sauce" Great food and a good price. Really nice boardwalk style patio over the University Lake. Great spot to come during the summer to people watch.

Got identification?

Supposed to be a hot spot in University City? Think again. I recently relocated to Charlotte and my family came down to visit me. My sister and I tried to walk in to the bar, but she was denied entry because she had an out of state identification card, and not a North Carolina identification card. She is of age and was denied for having an out-of-state id card. How can a bar do that when they are located next to a hotel? How can a bar turn away someone for being legal to drink thorughout the country? Why would I ever go back there?

Great Atmosphere

Just a great place to hang out. Good beer, Low Country Boil is fantastic. Prices are good and there is always a coupon in local papers, etc to make prices even better. Peanuts are a nice touch.
Pros: Service, food hot and beer cold
Cons: Noisy inside at times.

Great Service, Specials & Beer Selection

This place really is one of the hidden jewels of Charlotte. The staff is exceptional, the food is cheap (so is the beer) and the atmosphere is AMAZING. Any day of the week you can go schmooze with the local college crowd. On the weekends they have live bands and are always busy. Its a great place for kids before 9pm too. The view is amazing...over the lake at university. I would reccomend this to anyone looking for a great bar atmosphere at night and family dining during the day. It boasts 25 different beer on tap as well as a fully stocked bar and seasoned bartenders. The food is pretty good too. Especially the seafood. It really is American food. If your looking for a good place to relax and eat some comfort food this is the place for you.

Cons: mosty fried food & limited selection after 10pm

Where do i start? Maybe its the five dollar lunch special. Maybe its the daily drink specials. All together boardwalk billys is the place to be in the university area. You could look at the hott women who wait tables there, or you could ask for Sonny B. The best server in the joint. Whatever you prefer, you will have a great time. Dont forget the great patio where everyone who is anyone sits on a warm summer day.
Pros: hott women, great food, awsome view
