Editorial Description by Citysearch
The Scene
The visually stunning layout draws a strong bar and lounge scene (dining room tables are easier to come by than bar stools). An omnipresent light show distracts patrons from their stylish house cocktails (apple sidecars, pomegranate margaritas), while diners stay focused on their meals. When the weather doesn't jibe with the outdoor patio, the fashionable Euro set heads downstairs to the dark, stylish lounge.

The Food
33's European-style offerings include a frisee and lardons salad, lobster gnocchi, and a butternut squash soup with lump crab meat. Entrees run the gamut from birch beer-braised short ribs, Norwegian salmon confit, and a classic chicken pot pie to a vegetarian entrée of porcini pasta, carrot "osso bucco" and a medley of spring beans with walnut oil. Warm individual carrot cakes, chocolate beignets and exotic homemade sorbets are just a few of the inviting desserts on offer.

Hits
The three-course, $33 prix fixe menu is offered at all times and presents a good bargain for scene-chasing diners.

Misses
On weekends, the bar scene starts to heat up after 10pm, causing late-night diners to occasionally contend with hectic crowds and prohibitive noise levels.

Wonderful Decor, Food and service  5 Star Rating - World class

By Greg D.

Thats all that needs to be said. They just introduced a new menu and it's wonderful!!!! My husband and I had a delicious Cod and Filet Mignon wrapped in bacon. Their wine selection is wonderful and our server was able to answer all of our questions! I love it when my waitress is knowledgeable - helps me come to a decision with ease.

33 Restaurant and Lounge is a very nice place. They have a lovely menu, many items to choose from. We have been there 3 times now and each time our meal is better. I would recommend this place.

Good for a drink or two  3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

By S. J. | insider Insider | Rank: 14,381

...but that's all you'll be able to afford. Just 'ok' if you're looking to hang out with a friend or two after a meal at Hard Rock or Bertucci's (right around the corner). But don't receomment making a night out of it. Especially if you're looking to hit the dance floor, which is small, sweaty and crowded with some sketchy people.

STAY AWAY 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

By tollhouse

The manager was just plain rude.

The calamari was terrible, sugary, mushy no springiness to it.

Avoid at all costs. Customer service is terrible. Don't pay for attitude and poor customer service in this economy, there are plenty of other places spend your money. Demand better folks, demand better.

Pros: nice lights
Cons: poor management, poor service, bad attitude, all around bad

Will Not Go Here Again 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

By JaY

Having gone to 33 several times as a club, I can say that I will never go back after my most recent experience. The bouncer was rude and insulting -- without being at all provoked. His behavior caused me to miss my good friend's birthday party since I didn't want to spend my money at a place that would hire someone so unprofessional.

No big loss, though, since the drinks are expensive and the dancing doesn't start until it's nearly time to close. Middlesex is a much better bet if you're looking to have a good time without the ridiculous attitude.

fun outdoor deck 3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

By SKing

Nice atmosphere with a nice short menu. I recommend the martinis and sit outside on a summer day! It's a bit pricey, so be ready to spend about $100 for two.

Pros: Good outdoor seating and martinis
Cons: pricey

Terrible evening at 33 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

By CSMobileUser2

Feels like this place has become too trendy for it's own good. Waited 1 hour 45 minutes for our table. Were told several times that they were setting our table only to wait another 45 minutes. Finally when we were seated we were put directly in the line of the front door (on a January night when it was 20 degrees out). When we complained, the ma??tre de was unsympathetic and say that it wasn't his fault - the restaurant was simply too popular. Unbelievable. Will not go back.
