I visited this spa for the first time last month. I normally go to a place over on Broadway by Lloyd Center, but because of an impending out-of-town trip I went here to save time. I was never told the price of the pedicure when I made my appointment in person. I was made to wait 15 minutes after my appointment time and they didn't even have a color that I wanted. For $35, I should be able to get exactly what I want. Not to mention, a week later, my polish started chipping off and my cuticles were growing over. I normally pay $20 for a pedicure that lasts three weeks.

Cons: humid, poor customer service, poor color selection

I've had a lot of pedicures and this was one of the best! Billie whipped my feet into shape and was extremely thorough. I look for places that go after my callouses - now I'm ready for summer shoes!

Try the spray tan too! It's professionally applied (by a person!) and more effective than the mystic machines. The best part is you're not hurting your skin by taking the edge off that pasty white Oregon glow.

My daughter bought me a gift card as a special treat for Mothers Day, and what a treat it was! I had no idea what to expect, and was a bit aprehensive at first, but they were very friendly and attentive, and I relaxed right away. I had the Mom's Getaway package: A Bath, Facial, Lunch, Pedicure and Manicure. It was all lovely. The only thing I would do different next time is to bring my daughter along to enjoy a Spa Day with me! - Lisa

Pros: easy parking, friendly, professional

I took my aunt and mother for pedicures the evening before Mother's day. Pedicures are listed as being 3/4 of an hour, which is 45 minutes. Not one of us got a 45 minute pedicure, more like 30 minutes max. No sooner did the leg massage start - then it was over. You can get a better pedicure for less at a mall or similiar, less expensive establishment. Don't make the last appt of the day!

I went here the morning of my wedding with my bridesmaids. They went above and beyond our expectations to make the experience a positive one! The pedicures were very relaxing and looked great! The atmosphere is so calm and comfortable. I'd definitely go back!

Pros: Great staff, Atmosphere, Price

Cons: Downtown Parking

I have been a client of Sasse's for the past 13 years and cannot envision going elsewhere for my spa services. In that time the spa has grown to include expanded services such as lazer hair removal and all the best of European body treatments. Owner Sara Sasse' is very in tuned with creating that aah feeling in spa with extreme attention to detail in atmosphere. I truly believe that her underground location only adds to the quiet, soothing surroundings she has created. Her staff is very knowledgable, friendly and accomodating. They understand my busy schedule and my appointments are always timely. Evening and most especially Sunday hours enable me to take full advantage of all the amenities the spa has to offer. Overall, I would recommend this jewel of a spa to anyone seeking a bit of respite and solace in the heart of the city.

I booked the weekend before Valentine's Day for the Salt Glow - big mistake. They were busy with couples and I waited over 45 mins. for my turn. The therapist wasn't as good as others I've had there. But the worst part was that I bought a gift card for the Salt Glow ($85) for my assistant who had been working hard for me. (The Salt Glow is a shorter version of the fab Crescendo.) The woman, who I assume is the manager, wrote "Salt Glow + massage" on the card so that is what he made the reservation for. When he left, they said he owed $25 for the massage! He was upset but paid it and then told me what happened. They have still not credited him for the $25. He said the treatment was nice, but he left there more stressed than he arrived. Inexcusable!

Pros: Cresendo

Cons: staff, attitude, inefficiency

I've been going to Spa Sasse' for almost as long as they've been in business - over 20 years! Here's why they really are the BEST Spa: 1. In business for so long - what a track record! 2. Always changing, updating, remodeling, keeping up with all the latest trends and technologies. 3. Awesome location, central in the city, close to businesses, shopping, all the best hotels and restaurants. 4. They offer TONS of services, everything from hair & nails, Spa & massage, laser, tanning, etc. 5. They are the ONLY spa that has couples massage. 6. It's large, but intimate. 7. Great staff!

Pros: easy parking, good value, friendly

We've been coming to Sasse for several years now. It is so convenient and the hours are wonderful. Both my husband and i have had haircuts, massages and facials. They have a great staff who's very diverse, and a pleasure to work with. The product lines are great and have done wonders for my skin! It's so nice to go downtown and have a scrumptious dinner, relax at the spa, then take in a show or concert. If you are stressed and need a place right in the middle of downtown to unwind then SPA SASSE is it ! We are dedicated clients and will be sending MOM in for Mother's Day ! THANKS SO MUCH SASSE Debra & Michael Morgan

Pros: Fabulous Staff, Great Product, Heart of the City

I travel for business and frequent Spas in cities all over the world. Spa Sasse' is a wonderful Day Spa. I am always treated well and recieve stellar facials and body treatments. My hair is hard to deal with, and on my last visit to Spa Sasse', I decided to let them have a try at a new haircut/style, and I really love it! It's probably the BEST haircut I've ever had. Thanks Sasse'!

Pros: professional, friendly, inexpensive

I live in New York, but I frequent Portland. Everytime I am in town, without exception, I make sure to visit Spa Sasse. The relaxing environment, skilled professionals and first rate services are notably some of the best I've ever experienced. I must reccommend that any one try the Crescendo or any facial with enzi. Also, the bronzing treatment, both the service and the color are unrivaled.

Pros: Close Parking, Good value, Great Products

★★★★★

I had this incredible massage - they call it a Crescendo - more like massage, exfoliating scrub, and intense water action. Very awesome, I'll definitely be back for more of that - highly recommended!

Thank you for the great experience and professional service. It had been one of those days and I needed to get a massage. I called and lucked out by being able to get in for a massage within the hour. I walked from work and was treated to the much needed massage. The people were friendly, professional and the ambiance was great. Thank you making my day. I would recommend Spa Sasse to any business person needing to relax from a stressful day. They are right downtown. Great location, cheerful service and an absolutely wonderful massage. Thanks again.

This spa is beautiful, and much larger than it appears from the outside! I was amazed at how beautiful it was. The staff was professional and freindly, the atmosphere warm and inviting. I enjoyed a Couples Day Spa with my fiancee', it was wonderful! We plan on returning every year for our anniversary. I am also planning on having a bridal spa party there also, for my bridesmaids.

Pros: couples massage, Crescendo treatment, freindly staff

★★★★★

After enduring a 4.5 hour flight I arrived in Portland unable to check into my hotel room. Imagine my delight to find Spa Sasse had openings that afternoon. I had the best massage of my life as part of the Crescendo treatment. I also enjoyed a facial and hydrotherapy bath. Soothing music, welcoming staff and comfortable surroundings made the experience even better. One suggestion: offer robes large enough to fit plus size clients.

Pros: unique services, incredible massage, relaxing atmosphere

Cons: , no pressure to buy

★★★★★
