Up until just over a year ago, I had moderate to severe cystic acne. At 23, I had suffered with terrible, unmanageable, unsightly, painful skin for about 10 yrs. A friend recommended that I go to Carole Burns and receive SLR treatments. This friend?s skin looked as clear as porcelain and this was a relatively new development. Even though it was clear that her skin had radically transformed, I was still skeptical about how these treatments would affect me. I had literally tried EVERYTHING. I washed my face at least twice a day. Even when I came home after a late night out and was practically too exhausted to change into PJs, I still went through a skincare ritual. I was very attentive to my skin. I had gone to dermatologists and received pricy, prescription face treatments. I had tried all of the over-the-counter washes. I had even tried Proactive. NOTHING worked. And then I went to Carole?
Carole is a very warm, confident woman. When I went to see her, she sat me down, explained my skin condition and told me that ?I would never have to worry about my acne again?. She said that now that she was taking care of my skin, all of my struggles with acne would be over. To say that I was skeptical is a drastic understatement.
I am not going to say that the results were immediate. After my first visit, my skin was horrifying, worse that I had ever seen it. Gradually, however, it became clearer. With each visit, my face became a little better. After about 16 weeks, in combination with SLR Treatments, monthly mini-facials, and her recommended products, my skin was virtually flawless. I now continue to use the products and go back every three months or so for a mini facial for maintenance purposes.
I have had near perfect skin for about 7 months now. My friends and family are blown away by the transformation. I used to say that, as bad as my skin was, it was a minor inconvenience. Now that I know what it is like to have healthy skin, I realize what a hardship it truly was to have acne.
Anyway, if your skin bothers you, do yourself a favor and let Carole help you. If you don?t see immediate results don?t panic! Be patient. Your skin WILL drastically improve. It might seem a little pricey, but when you consider how much you are most likely spending on ?treatments? you will realize that she is probably not going to cost you much, if any, more.

I remember having my 1st consultation with Carol. I felt at ease. She's a great person, and truly knows what she's doing. Her staff is on point. I always received a phone call before my appointment. As a busy person myself, I found that extremely helpful. I'll cut to the chase and tell you that the results FAR EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS!!....I only had 3 sessions of laser hair removal, and I barely have any hair on my face. I thought I would need wayyyyy more sessions to see visible results. FYI, I have olive complexion, which is tricky to treat when it comes to laser hair removal. I was scared at first, but I'm glad I came to the right place. Oh and BTW the deep pore facials are awesome! I can go on and on. Definitely make an appointment here you wont regret it!

My skin is so much better since coming here! They give great deep pore facials that get all the gunk out of the skin. I had jawline acne and sun damage that they are treating with deep pore cleansing and IPL. I can see a huge improvement and always leave feeling valued. They are always on time, the salon is clean and they are good people to work with.

I've had the pleasure of being Carol's clients since 2003 and have to say she is truly a miracle worker! Over-the-counter products made me break out terribly and scarred my skin. I was at my wits end when a co-worker recommended Carol to me. From the initial consultation, I felt I was in great hands. I've been going to Carol ever since. She has take such good care of my skin. I get compliments wherever I go. I recommend Carol to anyone and everyone, young and old, male and female. What I appreciate most, is that if she believes a referral to a dermatologist is needed because the treatment required is beyond her level of expertise, she makes the recommendation and does not attempt to treat the condition herself. SLR is by far the best spa in the city. I've lived in NY for over ten years and have tried all the top-rated spas....Carole and Katherine and SLR have been the only skin care professionals that have 100% taken care of my acne, sensitive skin. I see them every three weeks for either a deep pore facial, microdermabrasian and/or laser facial (awesome to control acne prone skin and anti-aging!). SLR was recommended to me by a co-worker and I have since recommended to them to everyone I know. I have never had a bad experience with SLR, Shawn always calls the day before my appt as a reminder... as a busy NY'er this is so key! Their office is open until 8:00pm during the week and has weekend hours... way more convenient than most doctor/derm offices...and SLR has given me wayyy better results than any dermatologist. They keep their clients informed of the latest technologies and offer seasonal discounts and referral discounts!! This month they were voted one of the Top 5 laser hair removal specialists by NY Magazine!! SLR really does the dirty work and digs out all of the garbage from underneath your skin, leaving it shiny and glowing and healthy looking. Not as pampering as other spas, but the facials are much more effective.

I made an appt. for a FREE CONSULTATION and I should have known something was up when they required a credit card just to hold a FREE appt. Carole was very nice, personable and professional... we chatted about my concerns and I asked her what treatments she suggested I get so I could make a future appt. and she said, "I have to see your skin up close, get on the table" so she proceeds to pretty much give me a facial and THREE times I stopped her to ask her what she was doing and if this was part of the FREE consultation she kept saying, "let me finish, let me finish"... I've never heard of a FREE consultation costing me $200 and that's what I was charged before I even got back out to reception. Her assistant handed me over a credit card receipt and I was charged for a mini facial, microdermabrasion, etc... I felt VIOLATED and pretty much taken to the bank... the sad part is that if she had been up front and told me that she wanted to give me a facial and that it would have cost $200, I probably would have gone along with it and become a regular customer b/c I liked her and her office but I feel like she took advantage of me and pretty much ROBBED me of my money...

The service is great! When I first went to SLR I had no expectations. This was because I?ve had acne for as long as I could remember and I?ve tried just about everything and nothing worked. I?ve tried Proactive, Dr. Murad products, every dermatologist in the NY area, and expensive injections in the face? I even became a vegetarian because I thought it was my diet that caused the breakouts. NOTHING WORKED. So when Sharon (from the video) told me about SLR, I said ?what the heck have I got to loose, Acne??
From the time I entered the office Carole greeted me with a warm hug and Shawn and Katherine were welcoming. Carole immediately knew what to do and went to work on my very cystic acne. I?ve had several treatments and have seen gradual improvements. I no longer have the cystic acne but still have the marks from previous ones, and some occasional breakouts. Carole is currently working on getting rid of the scarring and HOPEFULLY shrinking of my pores. I will keep you posted on the continued progress.

Two things you can count on when you go to Skin Laser Rejuvenation. 1-you will look a lot better then when you came in. 2- you will have had a luxurious fun time ending with softer, younger skin.
Carole Burns is lovely, knows everything about skin and takes care of you exquisitely. The clinic is calm and welcoming, for a while you can keep the world at bay.
Katherine has a unique soothing method of massage especially pleasing around the eyes.
Shawn-Damion manages the office sweetly and expertly.
Carole has steered me to a dermatologist who took care of some skin cancers she detected. I have never gone anywhere else and never would. I've been seeing Carole for a little over 11 years.

Okay , so my dear friend Amanda told me all about SLR when i saw her glowing skin!! I made my first appointment for a facial that same day. I have very fair skin but my weakness is the sun!! laying out eith little spf to get that glowing tan was my favorite pass time! While looking at pictures i noticed that i never had freckles before and now in the mirror my face was covered. A bridge over my nose and all on my cheeks. Also, my upper lip was developing melasma. I just never paid attention to it ,so i would cover up with mounds of make-up. I'm a young woman in my twenties that should have a small make-up bag but because of the condition of my skin i needed it all ,concelear, foundation etc. Then the breakouts came from clogged pores. seeing my friend , the same age, with skin like a doll i was envious. I needed her "skin guru" to make my skin like hers!! Facial day arrived and i was very nervous! Carol and her staff were very sweet and made sur that i was comfortable. I wasn't shocked by my diagnosis, sun spots and melasma. walking into SLR was skin was sallow with discoloration and breakouts. When i left it was soft and hydrated. I am a person always curious about the new technology because you never know what's going to happen after 10 years.As an asian person,I really suffered a lot till I started searching about the options other than waxing.Some of my friends had done the laser-hair-removal 'thing' but I never had the passion for that.One of my friend's husband works for FDA and that was the first time that I had sympathy for laser-hair-removal.He said that the machines are approved by FDA,but the technician who uses this is as important as the machine's quality.Looking for a good place,I found that SLR has won the 'best laser center' in the city.Still had questions,because you never know!Just walked in without any recommendation from somebody.But God!I 'was' really surprised at how they greeted me as if I have been their customer for many years!They even didn't know why I was there!Could be anything!Surprisingly a young man (Shawn-Damion)welcomed me with a big smile. I started asking questions and telling about my concerns and he talked to me for 1 hour! Honestly, I would never do that.I know I am not an easy person but like everybody else, I am looking for 'trust'. I was in the laser room after 1/2 hour and I would never think that the prices could be that reasonable based on what you are getting back!Get-rid-of all your hair.This is my 3th session and already %60 of my hairs are gone.You're great! MI CASA ES SU CASA!!!!!! This saying is completely how I felt upon entering Skin Laser Rejuvenation. Carole's house (Her medical facility) is my house. I walked in was greeted with smiles and hugs and the atmosphere was just overall warming!!!!!. During my initial consultation, I told Carole and Katherine that I leave my hair to my hair stylist and my skin to them, "Make me beautiful!" I know a lot of women who have had bad laser experiences, so I was nervous going to my first laser hair removal session at a new place. But no more! The results I got at Skin Laser Rejuvenation were amazing! My underarms are hair free (really, I can not stop showing my friends!) and the office is cozy and very clean. Carole and her staff are honest (about the procedure, the cost and the potential results) and there is no high pressure sales tactics. I merely heard my options and was not pressed for more than I wanted or could afford. I absolutely recommend this office to others! Go-you will be glad you did!

I moved to NYC from Boston not that long ago and I was told abgout SLR and Carole Burns. I was use to receiving high end skin care in Boston and I will tell you that the quality of services at SLR and my personal satisfaction continues to exceed my experiences from the days back in Boston. The SLR staff are highly professional and attentive.

Carole, the owner and "skin care maestro" has the latest equipment and newest products and there are no hard sell practices - she listens to the goals of the customer and makes recommendations based on experience, comfort and budget.

I have already sent people to Carole and I continue to be a convert to her skills and that of the SLR team.

I have been seeing Carole for acne for three years now. I went to her in desperate need to clear up my badly blemished face, back, and chest. As an African-American women, I felt like my blemishes and scarring would never go away no matter what I tried until Carole started me on of her great microdermabrasion/chemical peel regimens. Within a year of treatments, and topical products my face is 95% better. I can truly say before meeting Carole and her warm, compassionate spirit, I was so insecure about my skin and now I am so much more confident in my skin than ever. I was getting by just fine, pretending everything was ok, until a little girl at the park, sitting with her mother next to me said. " Mommy, look a bearded lady !".Well- that did it.!! I thought I was too old for vanity, but being called a "bearded lady "was too much, even for me. I was a little shy, at my age, to ask around, so I called a few places on the phone. Most gave me a rushed reply and did not want to take the time to explain anything, they just wanted me to come in. When I spoke to Shawn, he gave me in depth explanations about procedure, expected results, skin concerns and also cost. I liked his manner so well, I made an appointment right away. I have been very pleased with the results and with my treatments. The cost was also not prohibitive at all.

I am extremely happy with the results and hospitality of r&j laser hair removal. I am of Indian descent, and as you can imagine - my skin-type is very difficult to deal with! I have had friends and family members who have gone to other places and have not been happy with their results (as the indian skin-type can be difficult to treat), and they were shocked by my results. In just three sessions, virtually all the hair on my lower legs is gone. My under-arms are clean, and I'm extremely happy with my upper-lip as well! The staff is AMAZING! Before I went to SLR - I meticulously did my research on so many other places in NYC, and actually visited and consulted with a handful of other places (which would make a story in and of itself!), and this was the place I chose and am extremely happy with my choice. Although it may seem that they are slightly pricier than other places they aren't! Also if you buy tone of their packages and do the math which includes the complimentary clean-ups, you are actually saving money! They have years of experience, and the owner is extremely knowledgeable about the process and treatment and will patiently sit down with you and explain everything! I picked their brains before making my choice. After all, this is my body, and I wanted to make sure that these people knew what they were doing!!! If you are considering down this road, wouldn't you want to just have the peace of mind knowing you are in good hands?

We were getting ready for my daughter's bat mitzvah a few months ago, and she was very self conscious about her " sideburns", which frankly crawled down her cheeks. My husband's side of the family is a bit hairy and unfortunately my daughter got the hair as well as the brains from her dad. I asked around about what to do, and was recommended to go to Skin Laser Rejuvenation. I spoke with Shawn, who reassured me and told me to come in for a consultation. He spent a lot of time with me and my daughter and we decided to get the treatments. We are very pleased with the results, and my daughter was very relaxed after her talk with Carole. I recommend them strongly to everyone, even teens!!!!!!!

I went to Carole based on the reviews on this site, and am sad to say that it was one of the biggest mistakes of my life. She did an IPL on me without asking me questions or testing a patch ahead of time. The treatment felt careless and she spent the whole time yelling a conversation to someone in the lobby -- so unprofessional, but totally her personality! She also burned my eyebrow because she was barely paying attention to what she was doing. It grew back after a month or so, but for a while I walked around with a weird patch missing! The worst part of this all is this: the IPL treatment actually caused premature aging and discoloration in my face. I have spoken to doctors since the treatment, and they said that she may have done it on the wrong setting for my skin. I now experience discoloration and rapid, premature aging. I am in my mid-20s and am experiencing the type of skin someone in their late 30s might have. Every day, I look in the mirror and wonder why I had the misfortune to encounter SLR and their unprofessional work. I am writing because I TRULY don't want ANYONE to have to go through what I've experienced. It has caused ongoing emotional and psychological trauma, and I now can say that I have worse, older looking skin than I had before I first visited SLR. Please beware. RESPONSE: SLR called me about my follow up and I told them what happened. The girl on the phone sounded shocked and just said "oh okay." NO offer to help or remedy anything. I am too traumatized to ever see her again, and I dont think she can fix this.

I only went to see Carole once due to a great recommendation from a friend but honestly? Once is all you need!!! I mean to know that she is the real deal!! She as well as her staff is extremely professional, super clean and neat (something i look for in this genre of services) and exceptionally attentive to your needs. Not to mention sincerely friendly and warm. I mean she literally hugged me at the end!! How great is that? I had the best experience and i have been to various laser centers and dermatologists but Carole surpasses them by far! She is extremely knowledgable in the industry and knows exactly what she is doing. I have already cancelled my appointments with my "world class" dermatologist and am committed to sticking with SLR to get my skin back on track. SLR is also very conveniently located near a couple of subway lines and the PATH for all you 'bokeners! You will not regret it if you go!

I have been going to see Carole for many years. I had really bad acne which was out of control but now thanks to Carole I am beautiful. As a young adult I knew that I would outgrow the acne stage. When I was in my 20?s and was still having breakouts, I knew something had to be done because it was embarrassing. Carole transformed me into a beautiful woman and I am forever grateful. My sessions are now maintenance and therapeutic specifically during stressful times (the fall of Lehman & drop in the markets). Carole is professional and always up to date with the treatments and new products. Her staff is professional and beautiful.

A friend recommended I go see Carole, I was a little hesistate at first but I've tried everything under the sun for my face to no improvement. Plus my friends skin was looking better and better everytime I seen her so I gave Carole a call. This was the best thing I've ever did for my skin. Carole is sent from heaven! Before I started coming to her I would wear a full face of make-up, concealer, foundation, etc now I only wear tinted moisturizer or nothing at all. I feel more confident without any makeup thanks to Carole. I had bad acne,lots of dark hyperpigmentation and lots of scarring. Now my skin tone is even I rarely break out, seriously!! She explains everything in detail, never pressures you to purchase products and truly cares about your skin. Being African American she even considers to cover my hair with a plastic shower cap lol. I thought that was pretty funny when she first did it but it just goes to show how much she knows and cares about your face and your hair lol. I'm hooked on Carole and her staff. Shes definitely results driven and I pray to God that she never leaves NYC. She may be a white girl but she knows what shes doing when it comes to African-American skin.

I love SLR. I look forward to my appointment. I know that everytime I see Carole my skin will be clearer, refreshed, and that my pores will be tight. Carole is amazing and I would not trust my skin care to anyone else. She knows skin. I suffer from severe acne so I used to cover my face with layers of makeup. Now, I use makeup for special occasions only plus when I do use makeup, the application looks flawless. I feel confident showing my clear skin. My skin glows in a way it never has. My friends and family have commented on how beautiful my skin looks and this is all since I started with Carole. Carole knows that with my sensitive skin it is hard to use a whole variety of the products sold in many beauty stores. She has been very generous in sharing samples of many of the high quality products that she sells at SLR. I was so taken with one night cream that she gave me to try, that I would not use another. Her exact words were, it will feel like you are giving your skin a drink of water, and she was so right! Carole's staff are friendly and very professional. Her facility is clean and bright and cheery. I will never trust my skin care to anyone but Carole.

They run appointments on time and there is no waiting. You are seen and they do amazing work during the time. They are friendly and make you feel good. The work they do is of the best quality. They want you to see results and you do. They offer a variety of treatments and don't oversell the products. The products are of very high quality and work. It is a great place to go if you've never been to have any treatments done because they tell you exactly what they are doing and are honest with you.

I had flawless skin all my life and was complimented on it constantly. This past spring, at age 33, my skin transformed into horrifying cysts, pustules - acne that was so bad I did not leave my apartment. I don't know where the negative reviews are coming from and honestly I don't care!!!! I selfishly adore Carole and Brandy and the facials are top notch. Top notch means results to me. I've been going to Carole for laser treatment and deep pore cleansingg for about 6 months now and my skin speaks for itself. Carole is kind, courteous and the best!!!!! I've never been inappropriately addressed or felt demeaned by anyone at this establishment. If you don't like it, GOOD, more appointment time for me!!

I went to SLR and Carole gave me a deep pore cleansing. She seemed preoccupied during my entire facial and kept yelling through the walls to talk and laugh (loudly) with co-workers. During the treatment, I was thoroughly put off when Carole started talking to me about really personal things about herself and negatively about clients who she kept referring to as "cheap." She also went through a "who's who" list of her "celebrity" clients. I hardly know Carole and was so offended by her inappropriate behavior...... sooooooo unprofessional. As far as the treatment went, Carole burned my skin with a product, ignoring me when I told her several times that I have really really sensitive skin. The last straw was when I addressed the fact that my skin was irritated and kind of hurt, she insisted that what happened to my skin was "normal" instead of offering me a discount, or even some cortisone cream or aloe!!!????? I'd avoid this clueless establishment. It's not cheap, especially not for the low level service I experienced. Proceed at your own risk.

I have been going to SLR for almost 2 years, and have seen a definite improvement in my skin. I have always had bad acne, dark red spots and scars from when I was a teenager. I have been to several dermatologists that have only prescribed medication, but haven't treated me with the attention and love that Carole herself gives me. I have been doing IPL and deep pore cleansing, along with using the excellent products that are recommended. The improvement in my skin is amazing! I have been treated by Brandy, Carole, and had a deep pore with the newest member, Kat. They are all attentive to my needs and have helped me heal my acne scars, and get out some long forgotten large cystic acne that has burrowed under my skin. I no longer have scars on my cheeks and forehead, and have glowing radiant skin that matches my personality. finally.

Where have I been all my life not to have found Skin Laser Rejuvenation sooner! I have walked around New York for years hiding my face and wondering if people where laughing and speaking badly about me. I truely have experienced changed in my life, thanks to SLR I don't n longer have to worry about my acne and sun damaged skin. With the treatments and the products they have provided my worries and self consciousness is a thing of my past. Carole Burns welcomed me with open arms and her staff catered to my every needs. Really i don"t know where I have been in the past but I know where I'll continue to be in the future.

I am astoundingly pleased with the service I've received from SLR. I've been a client of theirs for a little over a year now and each visit has delivered nothing but the best results. Carole listens to your concerns and really cares and strives to deliver you visible results. I have had the deep pore cleansing, ipl, and the peels and they've never reacted negatively on my skin. Carole doesn't just throw anything on your face, but takes the time to make sure you're getting what you need. She's so sweet and such a good hearted person. She talks to you to make you comfortable and is never disrespectful or demeaning. I love Brandy and Carole. The results speak for themselves.

My first, and second appointments with Carole, she was nice. She also likes to talk a lot about her famous clients(actors, models..and her laser IPL). She told me that I should visit her every month for maintenance purpose. I was so glad that I found her.

However, my third visit, she was kind of distracted with her other clients. She only spent about less than 10mins for my facial, and left me alone. Another esthetician was there, and did some facial cleaning and massage for me. Carole was also in and out the room many times while I was getting my facial treatment. Moreover, she was talking and laughing at loud with her clients, and I was very uncomfortable. It made me feel like I was not as important as her other clients...WelI, I went there only for my skin maintenance purpose, so maybe I was not spending enough money on her...
But maybe she was just extremely busy the day, and I decided to give her another chance. But unfortunately my forth visit was worse...Also after the treatment, I broke out !!!!!!!!!!!!! I had never broken out like that in my life, and had to go to dermatologist..! I felt like she skipped a few steps and did quick fast facial care on my face..I felt like she was lazy to work on my face, but she kept telling me to come back to her every month..! Well, NO THANKS!

After my bad experience with her, I don't think I'll go back there again. I better pay somewhere else and get better facial treatments. It is not worth it...!

When I first saw Carole Lea, I had active acne, rosecea, spider veins around my cheeks and nose, large pores and sun damage. In other words, my skin was a mess. Carole Lea educated me about my skin's needs and provided individualized treatment at SLR. I've had IPL to tighten my skin and remove sun damage; micro-dermabrasion to smooth out superficial lines and old acne scars and chemical peels to renew my skin and tighten pores. Now, I am taken for a woman 10-15 years younger than my chronicalogical age, and best of all, I feel confident that I am looking good-not just for my age-but good. Previously, I had been to several other well known spas and a much publicized dermatologist and was leary of having products pushed on me and my skin not getting better. Today my skin has no spider veins, sun damage, acne or large pores. I know how to care for my skin and get individualized treatment in a lovely relaxied setting with top staff assisting. Practicing for over 14 years, Carole lea Burns knows exactly what she is doing when it comes to client care! I've truely become the person I knew I always was wa inside but couldn't physically see! She has completed successfully Intense Pulse Light Laser techniques, Deep Pore Cleansings and Chemical Peels all completed successfully! Carole Burns is my magician, with a competent staff to add as the icing on the cake. I cant wait to see her for my next appointment and will continue to refer my friends family and fellow co-workers as I already have and am doing .They too who have seen Carole have walked away rejuvenated and satisfied with their treatments. She's thorough with evaluations and diagnosis and compassionate to all, celebrity or the average new yorker! You've never experienced a real facial until you've encountered the skilled hands of Carole Burns. She?s the gold standard of Aestheticians. Extremely professional, knowledgeable and very meticulous. She has an uncanny ability to make all her clients feel very comfortable and at ease.

If you are looking for a fluff facial this is not the place for you. I was very skeptical about having just anyone touch my face because as African American, my skin is prone to scaring and after trying a few other well-known spas I thought ?If I wanted someone to rub hot cream on my face I could do that at home.? I was very disappointed to say the least!...

But after meeting Carole 5 years ago; clear, healthy, radiant and flawless skin is what I got after just one treatment. I've been hooked ever since and I keep going back for more because I get GREAT RESULTS!!

I absolutely love SLR. Carole is thorough and tells you like it is... I have been going to her for years and my skin looks great. The staff is friendly and no one pushes products on you. That being said, everything she has recommended has WORKED!!! I had terrible acne that would leave red dots all over my face. My skin is now clear!!! Seriously, don't waste your money at a spa that see people on an assembly line...If you go to her once, you will ALWAYS go to her. Stop wasting money on products that don't work...go get a facial with Carole. On my first visit, she explained everything to me and she told me what she was doing as she was working on me. She helped me feel at ease and I have never let anyone else work on me.

The place is spotless but cozy and there is always a cup of tea or water. No one rushes you in or out.
Its super affordable and lets face it, you will get results!!!

Carole offers a bunch of other services...there is laser hair removal ( DID it...love it) and IPL which I now get with almost every treatment.

I recommend her 100% !!!

As per the questions posted whether I am friends with Carole or whether I work for her... I DO NOT work for Carole. In the summer of 2007 I bardered with her due to my finances but my personal circumstances are really not important for a review. Are they? I only recommend her because my skin has improved immensely. I know how important these reviews are and what someone is looking for when reading them because at some point we all end up on city search. I do not take to posting lightly. I also do not have a relationship with Carole outside of SLR. I have known her for 7 years so hopefully she does consider me more than just a client.

I recently visited SLR as a new client and I must say how Carole and Brandy EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS. SLR is a relaxing spa with MEDICALLY TRAINED AESTHETICIANS. It is truly comfortable, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the colors are soothing and the fountain transports you to nirvana. I always leave SLR feeling BEAUTIFUL and EMPOWERED with information on how to care for my skin between visits.
I have referred SLR to friends and family who are just as pleased with the services as I am. I honestly do not know what the last reviewer was talking about - - Obviously, you cannot please everyone - - however, it is not because SLR does not try to give each client such personalized service that you feel special! I have been to numerous spas for facials where all it seems that they do is wash my face. SLR educated me on what to do and what not to do in a professional and respectful manner. I've been going to see Carole for about a year now and you would not even believe the difference in my skin. It's amazing - I can get away with wearing almost no makeup and look fabulous. From the bad acne breakouts to the dark spots, all of that is a distant memory. Carole is really dedicated to making your skin look the absolute best it can look and she'll do everything she can to get you to that point. And while the treatment can be a little painful at first as she gets out the grossness, after a few sessions, you'll be glad you endured because your skin will be clear and beautiful.

Here's the thing about Carole Burns and Skin Laser Rejuvenation: she knows skin and she's passionate about making everyone look and feel better. That has gotta be the best combination anyone can look for in a facialist. Frankly, I used to think facials were a random luxury that don't really do much other than let you relax. But, Carole changed my opinion. I've seen the results and others regularly have commented on how good my skin looks. I will say this too - don't be afraid of her telling you the truth on the state of your face (and what is going on her own life) - she's up front, doesn't mince words, and says it like it is. She may even show you what shocking things she gets out of your skin. Meanwhile, her life experience stories will keep you entertained and to top it all off, she is a full on sweetie.

I went to Carole for laser hair removal and could not be happier. She makes you feel so comfortable, gives you reasonable expectations, does her best to distract you, and is so warm and friendly. I am thrilled with the results (bikini) and would not hesitate to recommend Carole to anyone. She takes real pride in what she does and most importantly, she is SO meticulous and clean.

When I moved to Manhatten about five months ago, I was very unhappy with my skin. I have had problems for many years with acne, but since my mother has bad scarring on her face this has always been a particularly large fear of mine. The very first minute I entered Skin Laser Rejuvenation, I knew I was in good hands with a respected professional. Carole is not only friendly, outgoing and extremely pleasant, but she is amazing at what she does. With monthly photos of my progress I can see a huge improvement in my skin from scarring to daily blemishes. The first time you leave your skin will glow. First off, when I entered SLRs office two years ago I was TOTALLY SKEPTICAL! But I honestly could not find a consistent solution to my acne. What made me consider SLR was seeing my sister's face DRAMATICALLY heal from her acne scars (which were much worse than mine) without the use of harsh products like Accutane or the need for surgery.
I have to admit that even after my first experience with Ms. Carole Burns, I still was not completely sold. First off, I was not expecting the price of what it would take to heal my skin. But after one month, after using the products and seeing her as directed, I honestly began to see a change in the quality of my skin. That's when I realized that the money I spent had been worth it.
Now, it's been two years and I have traveled extensively and my face has been exposed to many climates (extremely dry desert weather, hot tropics, etc) and during my travels NOT ONCE did I break out! I kept using the products she recommended and they work. I AM PROUD to tell every New Yorker and ANYONE who is reading this site, that Carole Burns REALLY KNOWS how to take care of skin, she knows the best ways to treat it, AND she is ABSOLUTELY through in her work. Each member of her staff is extremely professional, kind, and treats everyone with the attention and respect they deserve.
Like some of you who may be reading this, I do not make lots of money and am frugal where I need to be. I can tell you that Skin Laser Rejuvenation is a WISE INVESTMENT. Now that I live in San Francisco, I'm wary of other skin places because I know that SLR offers the best service at a very reasonable price. I am very very thankful to Carole, Yvonne, Brandy, and her other staff members for their service, their understanding, and for giving me -- and many other satisfied customers-- the one thing that's hard to find these days: GREAT VALUE. Trust me, every penny I've saved to treat my acne at SLR has been worth it!
