I was out running errands one day and broke a nail - need a quick repair and came across this place. This is a nice salon offering your typical services. They were a lifesaver to me - and very nice to boot!

I had business to do in SF, and brought my teenager with me. On the recommendation of a friend, I stopped by Teashi, and what a great experience for my girl....and for me. Loryn knew I might stop in, so she and her staff were ready and really went out of their way to be nice. They gave a great manicure and pedicure, a first for my girl. She was treated like a queen....and they were nice to me too. Also, the surroundings were beautiful. I'm happy to recommend Teashi.

Pros: Service, decor

I was greeted very warmly at the door and my mani/pedi was downhill from there. $55 is way too much to pay for rushed, minimalistic service. My toes were not adequately dried after the scrub/soak, so when the tissue was shoved in between the toes, it stuck. After the polish was applied I was totally ignored. No one helped me down from my perch, or to pull off the tissue, or to help me on with my shoes. This place is a rip and I will never ever return.

They do great mani & pedi here, but I've been getting facials with Loryn recently, she is awesome, and so are her treatments! I've had great results with the peels she's been doing on me, the space is imaculate, and she pampers me to the nines w! Great massages too!

Omigosh I love this place I had the best manicure with Jennifer. The front desk was so helpful they were really all about service. The parking yeah it took about 20 minutes to find a parking spot. Other than that I really had a great time and I will most defintely book again.

Without a doubt the best pedicure I have ever had in my entire life. They spent a lot of time scrubbing--there was a lot of manual labor involved to spectacularly shape/prune/etc. my toes/feet. I thought my feet were in good shape before, but I couldn't stop staring at them afterwards--they looked like prosthetic toes or something.
Manicure is excellent as well and lasted longer than any manicure I've ever had.

Tess at Teashi is the best esthetician ever! Originally, I started going to her for waxing-- she does my brazilian bikini, eyebrows, and lip wax regularly-- and, recently, I have started treating myself to occasional facials, which have also been excellent. I've been getting brazilian waxes for years and have seen several different estheticians, and Tess is, by far, the most thorough wax I've ever had. Also, she is sweet, down-to-earth, and super professional, and, even though I'm a regular, and she knows I will keep coming back, she does not skimp on the service at all or hurry through appointments.

I had my first facial ever a couple of months ago, with Tess, and it was great. I did the Cherry Berry facial, which includes a chocolate mask, and afterwards, my skin was so soft and clear, I could not believe it. Then, last Sunday, I went for another facial with Tess-- this time I did microderm abrasion-- and it was also great. Again, my skin was super soft and clear afterwards, and the experience was totally relaxing. Teashi facials include an upper body (arm, neck, and scalp) massage, which I found really great. I have never had a professional massage before, so I guess my massage recommendation should come with that disclaimer, but, from my perspective, this was wonderful.

Tess is also extremely knowledgable about skincare, and very honest. She doesn't pressure clients into buying products; if anything, she discourages me from buying stuff until I try a sample and see if I really like it. Tess spends a lot of time thinking about her clients' needs, and it shows. Since I have been seeing Tess, she has created a personal skincare routine for me, which has really softened and cleared up my skin, and she constantly checks in to see how everything is going. I absolutely cannot imagine a more professional, skilled, and attentive esthetician.

Pros: Great waxing and facials.

Cons: Cash tips only, but there is an ATM right across the street.

I am finally reviewing this spot after four visits. I am a spa junkie, and I have been to spas and salons all over the west and east coast, europe, and vegas. Teashi is a hip, cool and comfortable place to get a sub-par pedi. Their mani/pedi chairs are really comfy and they have in the ground sinks, so each client gets a sanitized bowl to put their feet into, with new water straight out of a regular faucet.
On my last visit, The manager was working the front desk and came off as aloof. I upgraded my pedi to a deluxe and watched my best friend get a better massage with her regular pedi. Not to mention, my tech didn't even exfoliate the bottoms of my feet! When I brought this to the managers' attention she asked me how bad my feet were before the pedi!! OMG how embarassing. Since my pedi was officially "over" they carted me off to the back of the salon and sat me in a plastic chair and applied some callus remover and the manager called the tech back over to pumice my heels. Previous visits have gone better, with a nicer reception staff and a better pedi, but nothing to write home to mom about. It's been a few months since my last visit, so I don't remember anyones name, but I do know that my best friend swears by the massage technique her pedicurist gives her consistently every time she goes. I think her name begins with an E but I know she is the only blonde I have ever seen who works there. They also have a nice selection of retail: oils, creams and perfumes. If you want an awesome experience, visit the other nail place I reviewed.

At first I was estatic that a place like Teashi existed in a city cramped full of small "takeout" nail shops. The decor is lovely and very neat. All instruments are sterilized and there is just a nice lady-like feeling to the place, but after a few months, the honeymoon has worn off. I was asked for a credit card number to make an appointment for a manicure and pedicure the other day. I felt a little uncomfortable about this since they also store this information in their computers but no cc#, no appointments I was told. So I gave in and went to my last mani/pedi at this establishment. What I received was what you would normally get for $18 in the city. The service was so rushed and so uncomfortable, I called the shop after my appointment to make a complaint. The manager really didn't do anything about my call and said that they would have a "talk" with the manicurist. For $45 (without tip) for a basic manicure and pedicure service, it's not worth the trouble of a rude staff.

Lovely decor, soothing sounds, very elegant and welcoming. Perfect location to rest your feet and relax the soul. Highly recommend making an appointment though. One tof he best mani and pedi I have ever gotten in the city. There is nothing better than taking a seat in one of the plush chairs and letting someone else take care of your tired feet and hands. Just amazing! Parking around the salon is a bit tricky but try the side streets and you will definitely get lucky. Love the Japanese inspired name.

Loryn is simply amazing. I have had issues with adult acne and subsequent scaring -- my skin always looks significantly better after seeing her. She is very informed and always explains in a step-by-step process exactly what she is doing. The differentiating factor that Loryn offers is that she is 100% professional in her approach and her passion for what she does truly sets her apart from others. I dont trust anyone else with my skin.

I would go back, although the service had some glitches. I had to wait 30 minutes or so past my appointment time, and then they gave me the regular pedicure instead of the deluxe, which I had scheduled. The pedicure itself was a little rough because (I think) the woman doing it was in a hurry; my big toe was bleeding for about 10 minutes, and a couple of my other toes were red and puffy after the pedicure. It does seem clean, and the staff is nice.

The ambiance is absolutely great and peaceful. Prices are a bit higher than most, especially since no special extras are offered unless paid for as in some other salons such as "hot cream" massage and towels.

But, you can be assured the basins are immaculate and tools are hygenic.

Christina has given me the absolute best manicure and pedicure that I've received in the city and her care alone is worth a visit.

I got brought here by my girl friend for a pedicure and i guess it was ok although i don't have anything to compare it to. But my girlfriend got a facial while i waited and she was ready to cry by the time we left. She was so annoyed with the staff and the facial left marks on her face.

Although the place is cute, the staff is SO RUDE! I came in for an appt on time and ended up waiting 20 minutes before someone helped. While I waited, another lady (more flashy and plastic than I) with the same appt time as myself comes and lo and behold, she gets seated and served immediately. Absolutely rude, by the time someone came to do my manicure, I got up and left. I am NEVER coming here again. The service is awful.

I am in the process of re-locating to San Francisco. I found this place on city seach and so glad that I did . Loryn is the absolute best. She is very detailed oriented and does not cut corners. My skin was absolutely glowing when she was done. She does not try to sell you anything just gives you wonderful results. The mani/pedi was also a delight. Sanitary conditions are few and far between when it comes to nail salon. This is one of few salons that takes it very seriously. I have officially found my new nail salon in San Francisco! Thanks city search

I called for a last-minute reservation for a mani/pedi for myself, my mother-in-law and my sister-in-law. Teashi was happy to accommodate us -- even keeping in mind that we had a 6pm dinner reservation! The space is all light and bright -- with high ceilings, skylights and a window looking out onto Russian Hill foot traffic. Scented candles (for sale) make the place smell terrific. The spa chairs, complete with fat cushions and a foot tub sunken in a pink tile block, are super comfy. My mani and pedi were divine (though I think it's weird when they do that punching your leg technique -- what the heck kind of massage is that?!), and Teashi was even able to seat us all next to each other. Another little touch I loved: Your nail technician gives you a little envelope to place their tip in, which to me is much classier (and less awkward) than just handing them some bills. Although parking in Russian Hill is a pain, I say it's worth the hassle for fab nails at a more-than-reasonable price.

We had such a wonderful time, and the ladies of Teashi were very accomodating. The shop is SUPER clean, and they go the extra mile to keep to strict sanitation standards (standards most salons seem to casually overlook). The employees are extremely careful and also delightfully sweet. We were able to speak to them in both English and their native language, which delighted my tourist cousin. We did not have appointments for bikini waxes, but they were able to fit my friends and I in anyway! The citrus tea is delicious too! Parking is crap, and I got a parking ticket even though none of the other cars did.

I went to teashi for mani/pedi w/ some girlfriends. We were very disappointed by the quality of the manicure & pedicure that we received. Not only were our nails painted unevenly, some of the girls' nails were filed too close to the skin, that we were in pain!
The staff were short & rude also and they did not spend time to pamper us. After all, thats why we went to get our nails done & pay $45 right?
Although the place has a nice ambiance, it is not worth the money.

I just had a brazilian wax at Teashi. It was the best I've ever had. The esthetician was fast but still gentle. She made me feel comfortable and at ease...and she made me laugh. I had a mani/pedi to treat myself afterwards and it was great. The polish lasted for over two weeks on me toes. I will definitely be going back.

I have been battling adult acne for years. On a recommendation from a friend, I made an appointment with Loryn for a facial. She was awesome! She explained everything thoroughly so that I felt confident in her skills. She also was diligent with extractions...I get so tired of going to fluffy salons that don't clean my pores. I saw that someone was unhappy with her extractions but I can tell you from an acne sufferer, she knows what she's doing. I was a bit red for a couple of days but then my skin looked amazing for weeks. She also put me on a homecare program (without trying to sell me everything under the sun). My skin has never looked so vibrant and clear. And the best part is that she gives an amazing neck and shoulder massage at the end. I can't imagine going to anyone else every again!

I get facials reguarly and I was very disappointed with the one I received. I get my mani/pedi there and was needing a facial so I decided to try it out. Boy did I regret it. I was left with marks on my face that even my boss had to comment on it. I was so embarrassed! Even foundation and concealer couldn't cover it up. Go there for mani/pedi but do not go there for their facials. It's just not worth it.

Even though I've gotten a better mani/pedi elsewhere, I still love coming to this place for its beautiful, soothing atmosphere. I love the space AND the pampering. You can sip tea while catching up with friends (the side-by-side, built-in tubs make it perfect for chatting with a friend or two). It's extremely sanitary and the technicians are all pretty good, but I always end up with different results each time. It's never perfect, but when I feel like spoiling myself, the treatment is definitely worth it.

This place is the absolute best bang for your buck. Mani and Pedi for $45 and it lasts longer than ANY m/p in the city. Even longer than top expensive spas. It's super clean. Such a beautiful, soothing atmosphere. The staff is so sweet. I feel so lucky to have this spot in my neighborhood.

I just had the absolute BEST facial I have ever had in the city. I have tried everywhere, and spent as much as $250 for a facial and I am saying that Lauren at Teashi gives the BEST! She is also the queen of the quick and relatively painless brazilian wax. What a find! And the prices are beyond reasonable!

My girlfriends and I make this stylish, super clean, fun and affordable spa a 'must-do' monthly ritual. The best mani-pedis! They last and last! Also... never ever had a better brazilian anywhere, and they are only $45. The prices here are little more than Lavande and Silks, but the quality of treatment and atmosphere blows doors on those places. Definitely worth the few extra $.

Nice looking shop (pink/white/gingham) w/nice products to buy but service is the same as any bargain spa. They're sticklers for cleanliness so there porcelain sinks instead of spa chairs are a better bet if you're concerned about nasty bacterias lurking. They use those expense diamond files but on wet feet which is incorrect. They don't have tables for manicures so you have to straddle the spa pedi bowl but the chairs are comfortable. Make a reservation (as with all these bargain spa places they say walk-ins are welcome but seldom have I been to one where that was the case). There are better bargain spa places.

Pros: cleanliness, atmosphere, products

Cons: no manicure tables

.

This is a lovely space--very relaxing--it's worth a few extra bucks for a longer, more relaxing mani/pedi experience. And so clean!

This place sucks. The shop itself looks cute but service was lousy- both the receptionist and the nail technician were rude. The pedicure itself is just below average. You could get this kind of service and treatment in any small, dirty corner manicure shops. It is sooo not worth the price. I will never go back again and would not recommend anyone going there!!

I first went to Teashi because I received a $10 coupon off a manicure and pedicure. I continue going without the coupon because it is such a relaxing, perfect nail experience. One note of warning: the nail specialists take a longer time and are more detail-oriented than at other nail salons - expect to spend an hour relaxing there!
