I love Veniero's. I really like their strawberry shortcake so light and yummy. The fruit tarts are good too. I didn't know they closed down for a few months because they failed their health inspection. But they've re-opened so I'm assuming everything is good now. Yes, the lines are long on weekends but I've gone during the daytime and before dinner and it's fine. Tables are a little crowded.

Delicious selection of fine Italian pastries and cakes. Worth walking the avenues if you happen to be hanging out in the Village or around 14th Street area.

The line is always out the door here but the reason why is because they have such excellent pastries. I have been coming to Veniero's for years and they have always had top quality pastries and they are very delicious and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

by marisol a.
I've been a customer for veniero's since 1994. i love there cakes and this is where i go and so do my co-workers to buy there cheesecakes; just like the regular cakes when we have our parties. the service is very good. there pastries are terrific. i always recommend this bakery store to everyone that can't find a good place for a cake. the people there are very good to me and i don't get the brush off if i can't find what i want.

The restaurant's sign reads Veniero's Pasticceria & Caffe. Veniero's is an old Italian bakery and cafe. Expect to take a number and wait for a seat when it gets crowded. I like the mixed fruit tarts. They are a great combination of cream and fruit. The big size is beautiful and delicious to bring to a party. The petite tarts are just the right size so that you don't feel too full. I like the Sicilian cheesecake that is made with sweet ricotta cheese. The cannolis are also very good. Expect great desserts, not great service. The tables are very close to each other and quite small. They also sell their products online.

This bakery has been in business for 100 years. Parking is a bit problematic so it is best to take mass transit. There is counter service in the front and tables in the rear of the bakery. I highly reccomend the ricotta cheescake. Everything there is fresh and delicious. The prices are reasonable considering its location.

Veniero's Pastry Shop is about 100 years old and has a lot of charm. The pastryies especially the little fruit tarts are wonderful. They also have table service and serve a mean cup of coffee but personally I like to order a pound or so of miniature pastries around $10, you pick what you want about 9 or 10 pieces and go home and pig out. A couple of mini fruit tarts, a few mini cannolis and eclairs and yes heaven comes in a box. Weekend nights can produce long lines so be prepared to wait and make sure you take a number when you walk in, many rookies wait around awhile before realizing no number no service.
PROS: Open late great food simply wonderful
CONS: Long lines hire more staff please

if your all about the chocolate go for the chocolate mousse cake. teh black forest cake is to die for as well, it's laceed with some a hint of rum. the pastry assortment is a great array, with cannollis, eclairs, cream puffs and fruit tarts. They usually deliver a bit earlier tha expected.

Possible the best bakery in the city, everything is made on premises and they have a little history behind them as well. Come on in for a pastry and a cup of cappucino and you'll be the happiest person in the world.

I had heard of Venieros from various people, so I finally had a chance to visit when I took a trip to the East Coast. It was crowded but not so much that we had to wait for a table. They have one of the best cheesecakes I have ever tasted, so I was able to buy one and freeze it and take it home with me to the West Coast. They offer a great selection of cakes and pastries and my friend swears by their iced cappuccino, which contains gelato. Prices are reasonable, too.
