Wanted dim sum brunch but not the crowds in Chinatown so tried Our Place. No steaming carts but you ordered from the menu and they steamed everything fresh to order. Service was polite and attentive. Quiet spot and great no-too-crowded dining room.

It use to be a very good restaurant but our last experience was horrible ! The food was outstandingly bad and we could not eat any of it. They did not care if we ever came back and they were rude. The food was disgusting!

Pros: location

Cons: everything!

Let me preface this by saying that I am as low maintenance a customer as they come. I have much sympathy for wait staff and rude obnoxious customers. I try to be as nice as possible to my server and have never complained about poor service.

A female friend and I walked in today at 2:57. We had seen the menu outside.with lunch specials until 3. The waiter gave us a dim sum menu instead and said the outside, cheaper menu was invalid (bait and switch anyone?). Fine, I asked to order the lunch special and the waiter said it was past 3:00. I told him it was exactly 3:00, not exactly pressing the issue. He leaves in a huff, comes back and says ok. I asked for chicken with cashews with soup and roll and an extra dim sum dish of spring rolls. He goes to the kitchen and returns 10 minutes later. My friend orders a soup and the waiter sneers and says that she should just take my soup (to imply that I'm cheap). I do my best to ignore it and we order dim sum. He tells us that dim sum is NOT being served after 3, never mind that he gave us the dim sum menu at 3. 10 minutes later, the lady next to my table orders dim sum and he writes it down. Unfreakingbelievable. He then proceeds to IGNORE MY TABLE for the next 30 minutes. So the two of us are stuck there eating one lunch special with an extra spring roll (picture showed 2, they gave us 1). Note that there were THREE tables occupied in the restaurant (out of 20) at this time and he was waiting on TWO of them. The other waiter was far more polite (at least not outright offensive). I will NEVER go within 2 blocks of this restaurant again. The guy obviously had an attitude problem. I've never NOT TIPPED in protest but this time I wanted to create a scene about his rudeness. I bit my tongue, dropped $2 on the table for our $12.70 bill and walked out.

There is no way they will see a single penny from me again. We shouldn't feel obligated to tip; tipping used to be for good service.

Pros: Food ok

Cons: Actually offensive waiters. Incredible.

Our Place was awesome. The service was incredibly, we barely waited a minute after ordering for our appetizers to come out. When they did, the won tons blew us away! The mango chicken is so light and delicious. The portions are huge, we figured we would have left overs for days but the food was so good that we ate all of it! I can't wait to go back.

This food is excellent. I have absolutely no complaints. The service was perfect, the food was delicious, and the wait time for none.
I highly recommend you try this upscale chinese restaurant.

Delivery time was ok, food was good, my GF especially liked the chicken fried rice, I enjoyed the Chicken and Broc but thought the Dumplings were a bit undercooked.

Our Place's food was pretty good. Their Dim Sum selection is fairly extensive. We ordered a few dim sim dishes, one was excellent (seafood with mushrooms) while the other two were just ok (shrimp rice crepes and pork shumai). If you don't want to go all the way to Chinatown this place is pretty good. However it does not compare to Chinatown in any respect. Several places in Chinatown have better food, more extensive menus and much better prices.

I have lived in Yorkville all of my life and for the last 17 years Our Place has been
my favorite chinese restaurant. They catered my sweet sixteen and many years
later I hosted my father's 60th birthday party there. Everyone raved over the food.
It's as tasty now as it was all those years ago and I still have cravings for my
favorite dishes just by walking past it's doors. Their BBQ ribs, sesame chicken or crysanthemum beef make me happy every time.
Even their delivery is fresh and hot.
For a fabulous meal, Our Place is definitely my choice.

A friend brought me to this place for dim sum, and the food was SUPERB. We ordered Grand Mariner Prawns, Har Gau, dumplings, and crab claws. The prawns were just delicious. They were huge and creamy, with just a taste of tangerine. The service is pretty good too.
I also got takeout -- their delivery was punctual and the food still steaming. Nice place to bring your friends or family for a treat!

I first went to Our Place about a month ago with a couple of friends, and the first thing that struck me about it was the food. Everything was absolutely delectable! Their ribs and the Shanghai soup dumplings were really good, but the Peking duck was my favorite. It was absolutely delicious, AND we got the whole duck experience. They carved it out right in front of us on the tray! The waiter told us that the duck is roasted fresh every single day, and they never sell overnight. We were very impressed with everything. The place is clean and pretty without being overly flashy. The service was prompt and the people were very friendly. All in all, we loved this place and will recommend it to anyone looking for some quality Chinese food.

This is the best chinese restaurant in the city. I would like to recommend a few dishes: BBQ ribs(it's a very fresh, tasty and delicious), the chicken with spainch and walunts, the duet prawns, the shredred crispy beef, it is all delicious. I would say this is the best chinese restaurant in the up east side as well as in the city.

Our Place is not where we go to be surprised, or to challenge our taste buds, for that we go to Wu Liang Yee, or Little Pepper in Queens. But when when we're on the Upper Eastside you can't do better. We recommend you start with the excellent Shanghai soup dumplings, BBQ spareribs and Tangy Spicy Shrimp. When it's cold out, I like the Hunan Pork with Leeks.

The weekend Dim Sum is also excellent. No, it's not Silver Bridge or Golden Unicorn, but if you feel like a nice selection of fresh Dim Sum before going to the MET or Neue Gallery, it's perfect. I want to add one more thought, there have been a few occasions when I was less than satisfied?a dish either too bland or too-sweet. My response: I called the manager over and expressed my unhappiness. On both occasions, they took away the dish and returned with exactly what I had originally wanted. (I've sent back dishes at Da Silvano and Nobu, too, so if something isn't right at Our Place I'm not going to let it slide.) What really pleased me was that the restaurant didn't want me to be unhappy either. The point I want to make is that this is a nighborhood restaurant that really wants to satisfy it's neighbors.

Pros: excellent menu, consistently good, nice crowd, good service, pretty room

Cons: sometimes crowded, service can be flat-footed, mediocre wine, sometimes loud,

This was some of the blandest, most uncreative, and overpriced chinese i've ever had. This is not real Chinese food at all. Service was also terrible, slow and rude. Waiter was unable to make any reccomendations as to dishes. I repeat: stay away.

The Scene
This Upper East Side Chinese restaurant attempts to separate itself from Chinatown cliches like musty fish tanks, opting instead for refined woodwork, horse sculptures set in boxes and overhanging glass lamps. In fact,…
