The Best Yoga in NY

by eb318

I've tried other yoga studios before, specifically laughing lotus and yoga to the people-- but no where else do I feel so warmly greeted and regarded. I think of yoga-works as a family-- I have been attending class there for about 5 years now. When I found out the studio had a presence on city search I felt mandated to contribute...there is literally not enough I can say about the people at yoga-works... you just have to try for yourself.
check on the 2 weeks for $30 deal. also, the downtown studio (138 5th avenue) has an AMAZING space.
google yogaworks for full detail, schedules etc.

Pros: easy to access and approachable staff

Cons: none!

Best Yoga in NYC!

by nyogini

This YogaWorks location is amazing! I have been practicing yoga for 10 years and have always felt at home in this and the rest of the YogaWorks schools.

At the midtown location, the studio is tucked away from the street traffic below and the practice room is surrounded by great, big windows, creating a very open and expansive feeling. The staff is warm and friendly, the space is kept neat and clean and the instructors are highly educated and knowledgable when it comes to creating a safe and nurturing class. They offer every type of yoga: for the beginner just starting out to the advanced practitioner with a daily commitment.

If you love yoga or just want to find out more about it, you found the right place. At all studios, there are yoga advisors available and they really helped me find a good fit as far as class style, level and teacher. These guys know what they are doing: providing brilliant yoga in simple, yet beautiful environments.

Also, check out their other programs: workshops, teacher training and even pilates! yum ; )

Haven't been there, just thought I'd share...

by sg81

I haven't been to any of these locations- however while researching this place, it looked great until I called to question about the "free mats" that citysearch quotes under "insider tips". They actually do charge the $2 rental fee, which is not a lot, but at the same time, classes are $20...I'm thinking it's starting to get kinda pricey. Most places charge $15-$19/ class. I'm glad I called to check- so thought I'd pass it along.

Hidden Jewel

by palsalvo

This little gem hidden on the upper floors of a high rise in Midtown. A mix of cool and relaxed, the vibe is totally authentic and yet still friendly. All the teachers are advanced trained and amazing... clean... oh and cheap! The cheapest best yoga in the city. AND this studio also houses one of the most amazing yoga meditation teachers of our time... Alan Finger. Who is so gifted and completely unpretentious.

I love it there! You should definitely check it out.

Hi! I live in NYC and I love yoga....been practicing it for 10 years already.
In NYC it is so hard to find a really good yoga studio, I tried so many of them and I have to say that Yoga works is the best of all - teachers are professional and mostly all members are really great people...I like going here.
Best, Angie

Be Yoga is the best

by jessienyc

I love Be Yoga. I started taking classes there a couple of months ago and I am addicted. The instructors are friendly and helpful, and there is a range of class levels for everyone. Plus, they keep merging with other great studios (like Karma Yoga on the west side), which is a plus for variety and location.

Pros: Variety, Relaxing, Convenient
