My best friends nephew is employed at Moody Gardens and because of little knowledge of his co-workers I got the boy in trouble behind an employee disscount. I ask for my reciept and asked a simple question, the answer was very un- professionel , when I was about to walk away the cashier was making fun of me. After I asked for the manager and the phone number to upper managment the young guy (manager) beat me to it and called his manager and complaint about me how irate I was. Her nephew was called to the office and I feel really bad about that, he had nothing to do with the incident. An irate person would cursed and screamed at these un-professional employees , I can't believe what some people say to save their own hat. Sad very sad, hopefully I can get the number and call myself and explain what happened that day! And hopefully better trained personal will be serving customers. Better service more$$$$$$$$$$.

Everything here is pricey as excpected. But only one attraction is actually worth the price, the aquarium. It's large and awesome, with lots of very close up views with tanks spanning several stories featuring penguins, sharks, seals and more. Many aquariums don't even have penguins and seals and those were our favorite. The rainforest walkthrough was very short and it is so hot in there and humid (it is a rainforest after all), that you find yourself rushing through there just to get out of that heat. There were butterflies, a few parrots, a couple monkeys and a chinese alligator (which looks like a baby alligator, very small). AVOID THE RIDEFILM. It costs $8 per person for a 5 minute ride that you will be standing in line a long time for. They kep pushing back the start time for some reason and we waited in line for almost an hour, which I didn't understand. It was not worth the wait or the money, it was the lmaest exscuse for a ride I've ever seen. The seats barely move and it's a very short happy feet film, every kid in the room with us was like ""that's it?"" once it was over. Just go for the aquarium.

Moody Gardens Does Not Suck! This person Apparently did NOT BOTHER to voice his complaints to the staff. FROM MY EXPERIENCE IT IS ABOVE MOST ATTRACTIONS!
5Moody Gardens is overpriced and really sucked. The rain forest wasn't worth the price you pay and the Aquamarine is so small and not worth it. Also watch to make sure your not charged for other peoples things to your room. And whatever you do make sure you don't shop at the gift shop it is so expensive and not worth it. Also know you are going to pay huge amounts of gratuity they don't let you add your tip they choose it for you. Stay at the Hilton at least their you get service this place for customer service sucks and their staff has attitudes. It is not worth the time or the money and the food sucks and is over priced.

Moody Gardens is a great place for children and families who love the idea of having a rainforest and an aquarium in one location. However, the employees that work there can sometimes be rude, unfriendly and unprofessional. In addition, make sure you get to Moody Gardens early in the day to enjoy all of the pyramids! They are suppose to close at 8:00 p.m., but we saw some employees closing at 7:20 and 7:45. p.m.

We paid $56 to see the ride film. What a waste of money, waited in line for 15 minutes for a 6 minute film that looked like the films we watched on projectors in the 1980s. The seats are had, ripped, and worn out. Went to the aquarium, it was nice but way over priced.

Moody Gardens offers almost half off tickets for all attractions after 6pm! Not only are you getting a great discount but the parking lot isn't as packed and there are no long lines for the attractions! So for those who are looking to save a little money just wait til 6pm!

We were extremely disappointed. we will NOT waste our time or money at Moody, but will go to Houston to the museum.
This was a walk through exhibit, but one of the employees kept trying to impress us with his "knowledge." Boring!

Moody Gardens Titanic exhibit, left me very dissapointed, and ticked that I had wasted this much money on lhow ittle was displayed regarding the ship. You can find more online, or on Discovery Channel!
The staff were not that friendly, or helpful.
I won't waste my money at MG again...

I have been taking family and friends to Moody Gardens for many years. When I first visited it back in 1994, they only had one pyramid which contained the rain forest and the main building with the IMAX theater. Now they have three pyramids, a hotel and spa and a 4D virtual ride. This place just keeps on getting better with each visit.

I have to say that we loved Moody Gardens! It was a nice family outing and I'd go again if it weren't so darn expensive! If it were actually available at the price listed above (which is currently showing $14.95-I plan to write in to make sure they correct that), it would be great! I'd say that $15-20 is a fair price for a day out at Moody Gardens. However, the fact that it actually costs twice that is what makes it a poor value. The $4.95-$14.95 listed above is only for separate attractions; that price would not allow you to see the whole park, only 1 part, such as the Aquarium, the Beach or one of the theaters. Entrance to Moody Gardens as a whole costs $40.00! Now when you're getting into the range of Six Flags or Schliterbahn, or a similar attraction, you'd better have as much to offer. Moody Gardens does not. I'd recommend it at a lower price but until they fix their prices, I'd say you'd find a better value elsewhere.

If it's just adults going, you probably won't have that much fun. All I know is that kids have a blast from this place. There are a lot of attractions to see here. They have their famous IMAX theater here. If you live far away, I wouldn't recommend going all the way to Galveston just to see the Moody Gardens. Perhaps if you were going to the beach anyway then you can make a stop here before or after. It's pretty pricey, but once again, kids will love it.

I went to moody gardens a few years ago and was not impressed. the admission was steep. For the price I paid I guess I was expecting Disney world. It is nothing like disney world. they have an aquarium, a rainforest, they have an IMAX, and a few other little things. It may have improved in the past few years. I know this holiday season they are having a festival of lights and that sounds fun if the price is decent. But over all, I would not recommend unless you are totally bored.

Moody Gardens offer entertaining fun for the whole family. There are many activities: the Colonel (paddle boat), a clean, private beach, a rainforest pryamid, a science museum pyramid, a top-notch aquarium, an IMAX, and a ride-film. They have an all-day package to all the amusements for a reasonably good price.
PROS: very fun!
CONS: none

Finally made it out to Moody Gardens in Galveston. Glad I made the drive. What a spectacular place nestled in Galveston. I dont think this place gets enough feedback. It took us 5 years to make it out there. I highly recommend this to families. Our kids really enjoyed the 3 D film on sea life. We also loved the butterfly garden. There is so much to do there. Be careful budget wise because every activity is priced seperate and can get expensive. Easy access from I45 Exit west beach and stay to the right. Follow the signs.

The IMAX theatre and IMAX Ridefilm Theater is a great place to take kids when you are on Galveston Island. The Aquarium has many exhibits, and they offer very educational lessons while you are viewing the animals. The rain forest is muggy, but the birds are beautiful. There are great places to take pictures, and the colors are exquisite. Last time we were there, a couple was taking wedding pictures there. The price is pretty steep, but check the internet for specials and group discounts.

Moody Gardens is one of the best vacation spots in Galveston. The aquarium is the best that I have seen thusfar, and the IMAX films are also great. The only reason I did not give this a 5 is that the beach is too small, and the Science place is sub-par.
PROS: Acquarium
CONS: Listed above and expensive

We love moody gardens and go at least 1-2 times a year, this is a wonderful place if you have a family that enjoys getting out and seeing new things. The aquarium is awesome along with everything else they offer, the package deal is better than individual tickets. I recommend this to EVERYONE!

My family visited Moody Gardens for vacation. We were traveling w/ grandma, mom and dad, and a 2 1/2 yr old. The place was great for everyone. We were able to buy tickets in advance, so all we had to do was show up, pick up our tickets and enjoy the day. There were so many exhibits, my son was never bored. The discovery pyramid is great for kids, as is the playground outside. We went before the beach was open, but it looked incredible. The Paddleboat was a blast as well. The staff of all the facilities were very accomodating, and were there to make sure you had a good time, with no problems. Moody Gardens was very clean, safe, and very easily accessable for everyone. The place is beautiful and was well worth the $30 per ticket!
PROS: Great value for the money-all day for $32, and visit every exhibit!
CONS: The boat ride was a little long to keep small kids happy!

Moody Gardens have a variety of activities for the family. I myself enjoyed the Rainforest which is filled with so much to see. My children loved the Discovery Pyramid. They have a day pass you can buy either online or there. More reasonable online. I would say if you are planning a visit make sure you get the day pass so you can enjoy everything. Bring lots of energy to keep up with the kiddos.

If you like Marine Life this is the spot to go. They have a 12-story pyramid with several marine habitats. They are wonderful to look at and read up on. The Rainforest pyramid is awesome, they have alot of vegitation which is neat to see as well as the Rainforest animals. It is in a easy place to get to so that way if you suck at directions like us it is not hard to find.

Moody Gardens is a good place to take the family. They have a variety of exhibits - an aquarium, rain forest, imax theatre, beach area with pool, and a riverboat that cruises in Galveston Bay. They also have a nice hotel. It's a good place to spend the day. The price is a little high, but there is a lot to see.

Moody Gardens is a fun place for people of all ages -- if you go during the right time of the year. As far as when the right time is, who knows? They remove exhibits at a whim and replace it with nothing; sometimes leaving an entire exhibit bare and boring.
The aquarium is really neat, but it's way over-priced for what you get to see.
The boat is very boring. You literally get to see a bunch of junky water and there's absolutely no entertainment. Could be romantic at night, but not for kids at any time.
If you have discount tickets, I recommend Moody Gardens. If you don't, save your money.

I have to say the Aquarium Pyramid was my favorite! They have the cutest Penguins and seals. The shark tunnel was another fav. you literally walk through a glass tunnel and have a shark swim right over your head!! I also loved the indoor Rainforest, they even have these little monkeys that are free range inside the Rainforest, it was really neat. The kids loved it too!

Moody Gardens is not only a fun and exciting place to visit, but it's family oriented, which means that parents don't have to worry about what their childrens are learning or seeing because its clean, fun, entertaining and educational at the same time. In fact, every member of the family will find something enjoyable. No matter how many times you visit Moody Gardens you will learn something different like the environment in the rain forest or the types of mammals that are there and the volunteer opportunites for teens and adults!\n\n

Cons: not a lot of parking, lines can be long
the aquarium is so very much better than downtown houston's and the IMAX is a must! (Get your seats early so you don't have to sit in the front.) The ""food court"" on premises was the worst at a major attraction I've ever seen. The service was poorer than poor. Clearly there is no hospitality manager on staff at Moody Gardens. Bring your own food and tailgate in the parking lot.\ndon't disallusion yourself, it's no disney world, but it's a great half day trip.

Just returned to the Houston area after 11 years and took my spouse and kids to Moody Gardens today. Happy to report that it was a fantastic day, and the attractions were first-rate and a good value for the money. Loved the rainforest and the aquarium pyramids! Palm Beach and the Colonel were nice diversions as well. The only bummer was the Imax ride (too lame for words).

This is a great place to be with the whole family. Everyone gets a little bit of enjoyment. You can soothe your eyes with the walk through the birds and butterflies. Then dip your feet into the water park next door.

Moody Gardens is a pricey family entertainment location that combines educational aspects with entertainment values. I am VERY familiar with ALL aspects of Moody Gardens although I cannot say why and I know that this is a place that you go to once, but don't go back again.

Moody Gardens is outstanding! There is something for everyone! The Rainforest Pyramid and Aquarium Pyramid are family favorites! The Garden Restaurant has a beautiful view of the Gulf Bay and at night there is a laser light water show! The kids will definitely sit still in this restaurant and Mom & Dad can enjoy a fantastic meal in peace!!!

The gardens are truly spectacular, and the Imax is great fun. I'll keep going back even though the birds in the rainforest pyramid have it out for me.

We liked this the first time we went, but then it changed into a putt putt course. It was really cheesy. All the holes were in this one room and I felt bad for the people that actually paid to get into it. Then we went back and last

We have seen a few movies here and while the 3D part is really neat the movies are a tad cheesy. I wish they would show something better. And the few times they have, they charged extra for it. We really did enjoy the Santa movie they

Consistent with any other IMAX, the screen here at Moody Gardens' IMAX is huge. There's nothing quite liking being in front of a massive, multi-story building watching predators hunt. The shows are rotated at this theater, almost always
