We went to Planet Thailand 212 for dinner. Initially we were pleased to see a nice decor and bright lights at this local thai restaurant, where we were hoping the food would be good. Boy were we disappointed. The food was average at best, the service was way below par and the manager was incorrigible. First, the waiter forgot our order, then after asking multiple times about our order we got our dishes. When we were honest and upfront and told our server, that we did not like the food, the manager stopped by and started yelling, that everyone likes bland food, we do not make spicy thai food, because no one can handle spice. After we explained, how our server had forgotten our order, she gave us one item on the house, with a grumpy face. Overall, we were disappointed and will likely never go back here again. Great Location and ambience, poor service and a incorrigible manger.. what a Shame!!!

Me and my husband went for a bite . The server did not serve the right order and insist on giving us something we did not order . One dish plus 2 drinks . $44 . for thai food with bad service ? The waitress did not speak english ? what gives ?

The worst service I have ever experienced! First our waitress didn't speak a word of English, and so could not answer any of our questions. I appreciate them trying to be authentic, but come on, some English would be nice! Secondly, the food hardly lives up, or can be compared to other thai restaurants in Manhattan. Finally, they charged my credit card twice, and when I called to let them know of their error, they were incredibly rude to me and refused to refund my money! I will never go back, and will be tell all my friends to stay away.

Pros: large space

I LOVE this place. From the food to the the brightly painted walls & floors, comfy booths, clear pink chairs, the artsy videocams, & the gorgeous orange/red tiled bathrooms ( i know i must sound strange).... But in all seriousness! ...I am most picky w. food quality, freshness & taste and this place rates well! Portions above average. Rarely, some dishes can seem a little on the salty side, service can be slow or quirky - but who cares if all you want yummy thai food in a fun atmosphere? great for large or small groups.... favorite dishes = Spicy Thai noodles & Crispy noodles w. Seafood. Salad is a must. Dessert: all are good but i recommend the creme brulee or baked pear. Definitely not your ordinary Thai place, it has originality in food and atmosphere.

Pros: I just love this place

Cons: A bit off the beaten path (but that's good so its not toooo crowded all the time.)

The quality of the sushi was Ok....The service was great. We received our food fast and the help was very friendly. The prices were the same as every other sushi resturant.

The 1st time I came here was while aimlessly walking around on halloween night 07'. This place ended up being 1 of my top 3 places to eat in the city since then. The food goes beyond expectations every time and it's affordable. The mood is cool, ample room for large parties, good music BUT the service never gets better. It's slow every time but I tend to not care anymore since I love the food so much. I've also ordered take-out which has been up to par as well. Just be very clear when ordering and expect it to be slow, no matter how busy (or not) the place is.

Pros: excellent food, high quality

Cons: really slow service

The food here is really nice. It does range a bit dependent on the day (it can get a little oily).

The lunch special is great value, and the side salad is really good.

Unfortunately, the service is rude and the location is in a bit of a dead zone. It is the best Thai food I have had in NY, but the competition hasn't been incredibly stiff, to be honest.

I came with a group of about 15 people for a b-day party. Although I called ahead and was told that they reserved a table for us, when we arrived they said they were booked but offered to squeeze us in a booth. The manager couldn't have been more rude about it..She said we could take the booth or we should leave. We decided to squeeze in since we were expecting a few more friends..we had to call the waiter over to take our drink order after 20 minutes..Then call them to take our food order..After we ate, they never took our plates..Then call them to get our check. When they added the automatic 20% gratuity, I complained to the manager that the service was so bad, I didn't think 20% was justified...The manager screamed at me..told me that 20% was their policy..I told her she didn't know how to run a restaurant..what happened to the "customer is always right"..It's really too bad because the food was good, atmosphere is fun and it's conveniently located.

The interior is very unique. The food were great. There are some very creative entree's there. But my personal favoriate has to be the Pad Thai. The staffs were friendly. However, there's only one "special" booth with padded seating, so reservation is recommanded.

The interior is very cool. (Better than the Brooklyn location) The food is also better than the Brooklyn location. The pad thai was great, dumplings were fresh, the sushi rolls were awesome. They have some unqiue rolls and inventive cocktails. we sat in one of the big booths which was very fun!

I've been to Planet Thailand 212 twice and the food did not disappoint either time. The food is great. The best thing about the place is their specialty dessert the green tea creme brulee! If you love green tea ice cream, you'll love this creme brulee! Awesome!
