World Class Spa  5 Star Rating - World class

I think Chateau Elan is one of the best choices in the Atlanta area. The technicians are all very talented and the spa facilities and spa restaurant are outstanding. The prices appear high at first glance but once you realize you can come for a massage and stay for the whole day it is worth it. Hang out in the hot tub and enjoy the free afternoon tea.

Escape to Wine Country 5 Star Rating - World class

The spa at chateau elan is a very nice escape from the grind in town in Atlanta. I felt like I was on a mini vacation, it felt like I was so far away, but so close to town. I recommend the hot stone massage.

SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

My wife and I just returned from Chateau Elan. It was perhaps the worse getaway weekend ever. The hotel is over-rated, over-priced, over-hyped, and over-flowing with its own self-importance. The hotel was so bad that it lead my wife and I fighting rather that relaxing. It was not until we started laughing at how bad the hotel was that we actual enjoyed ourselves.

1. The service. In a word, horrible.
2. The food. The best way to describe the food was chain restaurant quality at 4 star prices. At one restaurant, it appeared they were out of more food than they had on the menu. The award winning wine was worse than Boones Farm. They posted no awards in the winery, so my guess is that the awards they won are for worst wines ever made.
3. The rooms. These people are flat guilty of false advertising. We stayed in a room in the Spa. The room had warped posters and fake plants. The advertisement included a Jacuzzi bathtub. One did exist it just did not work and apparently had not worked for a while. And, for the entire three nights we were there, the sheets were never changedeven though an obvious wine spot was on the top sheet. The digital alarm clock did not work and there was no phone book in the room.
4. The price. Perhaps the most disgusting example of greed from these people came after we left the place. The bellman, their employee, filed to remove hanging clothes from the closet. The hotel did call to tell us they still had it. When we called to get the clothes back, we were told by voice mail that we would be charged for all shipping and handling charges including the cost of correcting the mistake their employee mad when he didnt load the bags right.

My wife noticed that she saw no one smiling anywhere on the property, including us. For what you are asked to pay, smiles should come easily.

Golf Massage --- ohhhh yeah! 5 Star Rating - World class

Hey!

Its Chateau's golf that usually gets me fired up---this time I gave the spa a shot. I dont know about pedicures----but MAN O MAN I scheduled a 'golfer massage' after TWO rounds and after felt like I could have played a THIRD. (instead played a third round at that irish pub!)

Hah---deff would recommend! Oh, come on a weekday too---its like you own the place.

K

Pros: spa + golf + great food
Cons: none

Ok services, but had better--below average for a resort. 3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

Actually, I was expecting a wonderful morning. To start off with, my friend and I did a yoga class which was absolutely wonderful. Afterwards, we changed our clothes, and then headed for the facial. When we arrived in the waiting room, there were not enough seats to accommodate everyone in the room. Also, it did not seem to be the "spa" touch at all. Leather couches with very bright rooms. Like you were sitting in a waiting room at the dr. office. The facial itself was great; however, the room that the young lady had me in was bright due to the sunlight. I have had facials many times, and every time, it is dark and relaxing to the point where you want to go to sleep. This was not. The facial was really nice. Then my friend and I went back to the waiting room for our next service. Not a seat was available, so we stood for about 10 minutes until it started to clear out. It was like a herd of cattle going thru due to the amount of people. I was taken to my pedicure and what a disappointment it was. TOTALLY. The lady I had was more interested in talking to her friends than she was taking care of me. She started later than everyone and finished about 5 minutes before everyone. There were around 7 of us in the room. My friend and I were very disappointed with the service. We both started going to spas when I was dating my husband 3 years ago. We went to a place in Arizona that was lesser in price with amazing service---Touch of Tranquility. I have been to spas in Birmingham that I received facials that were so much more superior to the facial I received there at the Chateau. Furthermore, the pedicure,,,,,well,,,,,my typical "every" 3 week pedicure at the local "no appt needed" nail shop is better too. In fact, my local pedi is $23 where Chateau's pedi was $60+tip. Yes, ladies, they go ahead and "make" you pay for the tip up front. I would have tipped the facial,,,but definitely not the pedi.

Pros: yoga class was great. very clean
Cons: service was like a herd of cattle

Great spa to treat yourself to. 5 Star Rating - World class

I visited this spa today and it was wonderful! It was the most relaxing massage I have ever had and I will not waste my time anywhere else. Highly recommend - a bit pricier than other spas but well worth it.
